Obituary Preview: Frederick Wilson Sr. was born on March 28, 1942. Both parents were of Bahamian descent to the late Mr. Adolphus and Mrs. Emily Wilson; he was the last of six children born to that union. Frederick Wilson graduated from Dillard High School's class of "60". He was a "Panther" for life; he loved and cherished the blue and grey. He was affectionately known as "Tulsa" to family and friends and "Brother Frederick X" to his spiritual family, the Nation of Islam.
He followed the voice of the Holy Spirit to guide him. He journeyed to see the most Honorable Elijah Muhammed speak. Upon hearing the voice and teachings of the most honorable Elijah Muhammed, he had a spiritual awakening. He then dedicated his life to the religious practices of the "Nation of Islam." He became a servant of Allah, a student of the most honorable Elijah Muhammed, and a leader in the FOI. He was also a student of the Most Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. His commitment to the Nation of Islam spans over 50 years of service. He was well respected and loved by various religious denominations and fraternal organizations.
Frederick Wilson was a member of the labor union; he was an employee in the construction industry and worked diligently for over 30 years until his retirement in August 1997. He had an unwavering love for his religious beliefs, people, community, and high school, Alma Matar.
Frederick Wilson Sr., as he transitioned, those left to cherish his memories. (Sons) Frederick Wilson Jr, Adolphus Wilson, (Daughters) Emily Wilson, Valerie Wilson, and (deceased) Tracey Wilson (Step-Daughter) Starletha Michelle Smith. He also has a host of stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, young men, and women of many ages he mentored over the years. He was a father, loved one, relative, friend, and mentor with a Warrior Spirit. His word was his bond.
He will be loved and missed by many.

He worked for Georgia Tennessee Mining Company, Thermos King, and Broward Health Medical Center. Rufus' joy was playing his guitar and listening to Gospel music. He sang with several Gospel quartets.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Johnnie Hubert Jackson and James Thomas Jackson.
