Wade Joseph Dahood - December 31, 1927 - April 18, 2022

Departed: 04/18/2022 (Anaconda)
Obituary Preview: WADE J. DAHOOD
Wade J. Dahood passed away on April 18, 2022 in St. James Hospital in Butte, Montana.
Wade was born on December 31, 1927, to Solomon and Lenda Dahood. He was raised and educated in Anaconda. After graduating from Anaconda High School, Wade attended the University of Montana and graduated from the University of Montana Law School in 1951. As part of his ROTC commitment, Wade joined the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG), serving as an appellate attorney stationed at the Pentagon during the Korean Conflict. This service included his first appearance before the United States Supreme Court.
After completing his service to his country, Wade returned to Anaconda and entered into the practice of law with John Benjamin Carter Knight (JBC Knight) as the firm of Knight and Dahood. After JBC Knight died in 1967, Wade changed the focus of the practice from insurance defense to plaintiff-oriented litigation.  Wade tenaciously advocated for the interests of those injured by negligence or at their place of work. His tireless work on behalf of injured parties changed Montana law to the benefit of all persons injured at the hands of others or while at work. In addition, Wade was a consummate small-town lawyer providing full service to his clients, including personal injury, worker’s compensation, criminal defense, estate practice, dissolution, condemnation, corporate law and banking. The Knight and Dahood Law Firm continues today. Wade continued to actively practice law with the help of his son, attorney Jeff Dahood and his assistant and secretary, Ann Wareham until 2021.
Wade was instrumental in the formation of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association (MTLA). He served as President of the MTLA and was a Director Emeritus until his passing. Wade was instrumental in the establishment of the Montana Medical Legal Malpractice Board which allows for pre-litigation review of medical malpractice cases by a panel of physicians and attorneys. As a true trial advocate, Wade often declared that it might not have been his greatest accomplishment, but it has continued as a viable service to Montanans to this day. Wade was a proud and dedicated member of the State Bar of Montana for over seventy years. He was licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all lower state and federal courts. He received countless awards for excellence over his many years of practice.
Wade also served many years on the Board of Directors for Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in Anaconda, Montana.
Wade did believe that his greatest accomplishment was his service as an elected delegate to the 1972 Montana Constitutional Convention. He served as the Chairman of the Bill of Rights Committee. As Chairman, Wade clearly and concisely stated the need for strong protections of citizens’ rights, answering all questions posed and drafting clear and concise constitutional language. As part of the new Montana Bill of Rights, the convention adopted provisions allowing for citizens to sue the State for injuries suffered by the State’s negligence, eliminating sovereign immunity, providing for third party negligence suits for workers injuries and the provision of attorney fees for successful landowners in condemnation actions.
Believing that every citizen had the right to know the functions of state government through open records and public participation, Wade was very proud of his work in drafting and including in the new 1972 Constitution, the Right to Know, the Right to Privacy, and the Right to Participate in Government. Wade’s words on these provisions as set forth in the official Transcripts are regularly cited by the Montana Supreme Court in their opinions on these and other issues of citizens’ rights under Montana law. The 1972 Montana Constitution will celebrate its 50th year in June 2022. It is generally accepted as one of the finest modern state Constitutions in the United States.
During his long career, Wade was renowned throughout the various Montana Courts for his fabulous oratory, his tailored Italian Brioni suits, crisp white silk shirts with WJD embroidered on the cuff and his famous array of gold cufflinks. With his impeccable preparation, knowledge of the law and booming voice, Wade enthralled jurors and judges alike in every courtroom he entered.
Wade’s life was dominated by his love for the law, which he often referred to as his “jealous mistress.” He was an icon in Montana law for his tireless efforts on behalf of the injured plaintiff. Despite his failing health Wade maintained his love of the law, having his son Jeff provide him with a brief case and a statement of damages to work on in the hospital. Wade’s faith in hard work and enthusiasm for progressing the law never faltered.
Always recognized by his blue Lincoln Continental, Wade was known as both as a sports fanatic and gambler. He rarely missed the opportunity to golf at the Anaconda Country Club and Fairmont Hot Springs.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom, and sister Margaret.
Wade is survived by his wife Nancy; son, Jeff and his wife Melissa, grandsons, Wade and Brett, of Anaconda; his daughter Linda Downey of Dallas Texas and grandsons, Chad (Holly) and Steven (Dana), daughter Laurice Johnson and husband Jim also of Dallas, Texas, grandsons Matt (Sarah) and Nick (Elizabeth); daughter Kathy Dahood and husband Vincent Colucci of Missoula MT and son Mitch Dahood and his wife, Christina, of Los Angeles, California and numerous extended family and friends. Wade was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. He was a true American patriot and took great pride in his membership in the American Legion and his service in the U.S. Army. One of his most cherished sayings was: “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure. . . than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” Theodore Roosevelt
Wade dared mighty things; he had glorious triumphs; he had failures; but he had a long, productive and enjoyable life and he did it HIS WAY. In that, he was truly victorious, and we can all be grateful for his long life in service of his fellow man through the law.
Services are pending and will be announced at a later time. Donations can be made to the Anaconda American Legion Post #21, the Anaconda Catholic Community, or the charity of donor’s choice.

Toni Leon Zimmer - August 15, 1954 - March 03, 2022

Departed: 03/03/2022 (Anaconda)
Obituary Preview: Toni Leon Zimmer, a woman of unwavering faith, was welcomed into heaven on March 3, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family.  Toni was born August 15, 1954, in Hallock, MN to Darlene Swanson (Turner). Her brother Dirk and sister Heather came along a few years later. Toni’s mom, Darlene, met a rodeo cowboy who said, “I do” and he did! He loved them all as his very own, and gave them their youngest, fiercely spirited, white-blonde haired brother, Timber Turner. Her family was like a layered cake, each layer put there by God’s perfect plan, held together by love, and frosted with forgiveness and fortitude.
Her family moved to Libby, MT. She met the love of her life, David Zimmer, and started dating in the summer of 1969. They graduated from Libby High School in 1972 and were married July 16th of that year. They will be celebrating 50 years married from heaven this July. David and Toni were inseparable in spirit, bound tightly with love, continually modeling a relationship built on the foundation of “and two shall become one.” They were often referred to as “A Racehorse and a Buffalo,” the animals that mirrored their spirits. Their calling in life was offering love, support and skills for building marriages. “In sickness and in health” was a vow they exemplified. David was in awe of her strength and beauty, while Toni marveled at his ability to accomplish and conquer. Their legacy of love will live on for generations to come.
David and Toni raised three children together: Tanner, Teal and Tristin. Toni cherished the time she spent raising her children. She was able to stay home with her kids until they graduated from high school. Together they took their kids to church every Sunday, raising their kids alongside some of their closest friends. Their summers were spent at Libby Creek, laying in the sun and cooling off in the cold mountain water. The sun, she believed, came straight from heaven and she was still sunbathing in a two piece this last summer. Fall was always hunting time, and Toni would feed the hunters and open her home for coffee and “Toni treats” to relive the days’ events. In January of 1998, they moved to Butte, MT. Butte welcomed them with warm hearts, big blue skies, better elk hunting and more lunch spots.
Toni gave to this world in every way she could- daily prayers for anyone in her heart, a warm hug, a kind word, her time, her energy, her forgiveness, her grace, and a card in the mail for every event. She spent time working at Christopher and Banks, helping people find clothes that fit them just right. Toni worked as an Activities Director for the Waterford/Big Sky Senior Living and found immense joy serving her residents. She provided an environment filled with activities and treats, giving them purpose and meaning each day. Toni was honored to meet each and every resident. On days off, she slipped into sandals and thoroughly enjoyed going to lunch. Montana Club was her favorite place! She treasured her friends and held them close to heart.
Toni would often marvel at the blessings God had given her. She was beyond proud of her kids and grandkids. Her grandkids: Mason, Billy, Mallory, Max and Liberty were one of the biggest delights in her life. She attended every football, baseball, hockey game and swimming practice she could, and looked forward to every May when it was dance recital time. Each grandkid was uniquely special to her, and she found such joy in knowing who they were as individuals, providing beautiful insights on how each one was just as wonderful as the next. She was always up for fun in the sun with the kids! Toni would take all 5 grandkids to Washoe Pool or Fairmont every summer. She loved having them all over for the weekend. No one could make eggs and pancakes quite like Grama Toni. The evenings were filled with fresh air-popped popcorn and real butter. Her rice bags warmed their little bodies, and she would wait on them hand and foot.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Darlene (Swanson) Turner and father Thaddeus Turner.
Toni is survived by her husband, David, son Tanner (Erin), daughter Teal (Nate), daughter Tristin (Mario) and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church, 630 West Iron Street, on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Shirley was born in Lewistown, MT on November 27th, 1934. In her early life, Shirley enjoyed spending time in Hobson, MT with her grandparents, MaryJane and Frank Rooney. After high school, Shirley went to Carroll College where she was the president of the Nursing Club, starred in several musicals and was the first homecoming queen. One of her highlights of her college days was when she sang at the Washoe Theater and had the lead role in, “Alice’s Blue Gown.” In 1954 she married Tim Calnan, who starred in the same musical. Shirley’s house was filled with singing every day because of her and Tim’s love of music. Together they had seven children who also shared a love of singing.
Shirley was widowed in her early forties. At the time of Tim’s passing, they had one grandchild, Walter Barry. Shirley’s family continued to grow and at the time of her passing she had sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. She is loved dearly by each of them.

She lived in her home in Anaconda for 44 years. During that time, she worked at City Drug and Warm Springs State Hospital Pharmacy until she retired. Mary Ellen Crnich - October 16, 1939 - February 18, 2022

Departed: 02/18/2022 (Anaconda)
Obituary Preview: Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife, Mary Ellen Crnich, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Community Hospital of Anaconda.
Born Mary Ellen LaPointe on October 16, 1939, in Missoula, MT to Francis P. and Mary (McAtee) LaPointe, she was the oldest of eight children. She grew up in Plains, MT, and spoke fondly of her happy childhood there with her siblings and their many adventures. Never without a playmate, she told us that when she needed some alone time, she would go hide under a tree and read. Thus began her lifelong love of reading.
After high school, Mary Ellen attended Carroll College where she attained her Associate of Arts Degree in both English and History. It was at college that she met and married Thomas Crnich in February of 1961 at the Cathedral of St. Helena in Helena, MT. They moved to Anaconda in July of that year and soon welcomed their first child, Lynn, followed closely by Debbie and then Kurt. She always told us that she loved being our mom. She was a wonderful mother – kind and patient and gentle. No matter what was going on in her life, she always had time to listen to all our problems, big or small, and make everything okay with an encouraging word and gentle advice. Although she was quiet and soft-spoken, she was funny and smart and had a quick wit that never failed to surprise us, especially her grandchildren. Some of their conversations ended with one or more of her grandchildren saying, “Oh Grandma!!” and rolling their eyes and laughing hysterically at her funny comments.
Besides being the heart of our home and taking wonderful care of our family, Mary Ellen was a teacher’s aide as well as a substitute teacher for 23 years for the Anaconda school district.  She truly enjoyed all the children she worked with throughout the years and felt privileged to be part of their lives. She was also actively involved with the Anaconda Catholic Community and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
Mary Ellen had many interests throughout her life.  She was a great baker – her maple cookies and povitica are family favorites. We have yet to successfully duplicate them, but we keep trying. Her turkey gravy and Yankee pot roast were the best. She loved all holidays and decorating for each and every one of them. Her children and grandchildren all have beautiful handmade Christmas stockings that are part of each of our holiday traditions. A voracious reader, she could often be found reading two or more books at a time, particularly mysteries and historical novels. She was a talented artist, although she didn’t think so, and her family has many cherished cards and drawings she made for us throughout the years. Many happy hours were spent over the years perusing local antique shops collecting china, silver spoons, and anything else that caught her eye. In more recent years, working all different types of word jumbles and crossword puzzles, listening to classical music, and stamp collecting were some of her favorite activities. Although she had many health challenges during her life, her glass was always half-full, and she was always “feeling better.” She lived her life with grace, dignity and courage, as beautiful inside as she was outside.
She is survived by her husband Tom of 61 years, children Lynn (Mike) Higgins of Anthem, AZ; Debbie (Ray) Puccinelli of Idaho Falls, ID; and Kurt Crnich of Kuna, ID; grandchildren Max Higgins; Joey (Caroline) Puccinelli; Drew (Michelle) Puccinelli; Paige (Conner Morris) Puccinelli; Andrea (Reece) Holloway; Kurt Crnich Jr.; Lauren Crnich; great-grandchildren Nino and CeCe Puccinelli; Mara and Casey Puccinelli; Arlo Holloway; brothers Peter LaPointe of Plains, MT and Mike (Gayle) LaPointe of FL; sisters Bernadette Roy, Nora Morris and Elaine Vetter, all of Lolo, MT, and Therese (Joe) Baldwin of Fort Collins, CO; sisters-in-law Pauline LaPointe of Plains, MT and Susan (Mike) Carlson of Glendive, MT; uncle Lynn McAtee of Plains, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dan LaPointe, brothers-in-law Duane Roy and Neil Morris, parents-in-law Edward and Zora Crnich, and grandson Nicholas Puccinelli.
Our family would like to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Community Nursing Home of Anaconda for taking such wonderful care of our mom during the time she was there, and to the doctors and nurses at Community Hospital of Anaconda who cared for her over the years.
Private family services will be held at a later date.  Mary Ellen loved animals, particularly cats. If you would like to honor her memory, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Pintler Pets or to a charity of your choice or simply consider doing a kind deed for someone.
Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral and Cremation Service is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. You may pay your condolences at www.longfellowfinneganriddle.com.

Joan Cook - March 12, 1937 - February 09, 2022

Departed: 02/09/2022 (Anaconda)
Obituary Preview: Joan D. Cook, 84, passed away at the Community Hospital of Anaconda on February 9, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Joan was born in Anaconda on March 12, 1937. She was one of 11 children, seven brothers: Reno (Rose), Raymond (Marlene), Joseph, Lawrence (Kathy), William (Patricia), Thomas (Linda), and Anthony (Sandy), and three sisters: Rosalie (Charles), Elizabeth, and Arlene (Robert).
Joan met the love of her life and best friend, Vernon "Ted" Cook, in 1957 at a taxi stand. Ted gave Joan a ride home from the taxi stand that night, and essentially every night thereafter. Ted and Joan married on October 12, 1957. Ted became Joan's personal taxi from that day forward, and the streets were much safer as a result. Joan loved family gatherings, holiday get-togethers, and camping with the family. She was the matriarch of the family and she always made sure everyone was well fed. She has been accurately described as a food pusher. When offering food, she was simply not willing to accept no for an answer. During her life, it was impossible to catch Joan alone. She was always surrounded by family and friends. When her dad, Reno "Pops" Puccinelli, passed away, she took over the long-standing tradition of having coffee every morning at her house. Amongst her favorite things were coffee, sweets and gambling, but most of all, she loved her grandkids and great grandkids, all of whom she babysat regularly.
Joan is in heaven with her son Kenny, and her grandson Ryan. She is survived by her husband, her sons Vernon Jr. (Barbara), Nicholas (Lori), and Kevin (Wendy), and her daughter Stacey (Cliff). Grandchildren include Tyler, Nathan (Maria), Corey (Chantel), Dezerae, Melisa, Adam (Abby), Bryan (Rebekah), Jordan (Justin), Britney (Josh), Derek (Britnie), Josh (Cierra), Kaedon (Tara), Madison, Meredith, Rylee, Evan, Abby. Joan is also survived by her 26 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and lots of family friends.
Joan's worry-free disposition can be summarized with an expression she used often, "everything comes out in the wash." The problems of today will have no lasting effects on tomorrow, and things will always normalize over time. Problems disappeared when you were with Joan. All that mattered to Joan was your safety and wellbeing. "Be careful and love you," she used to say.

Kenneth "Ken" James Schmidt - November 04, 1950 - February 09, 2022

Departed: 02/09/2022 (Anaconda)
Obituary Preview: November 4, 1950-February 9, 2022
Kenneth J. Schmidt passed away at Community Hospital of Anaconda on 2/9/22 after two years of health issues.
He was born November 4, 1950 in Rahway, New Jersey, the 4th of 5 children of Walter J. and Wanda (French) Schmidt.  Because his father was an employee of Esso Standard Oil, he spent his early years traveling with his family to Japan, to Indonesia, then back to Japan, graduating from Yo-Hi high school in Japan in 1968.  Following high school, the rural setting of Montana was appealing, so he applied to and attended the University of Montana in Missoula, where he completed his B.A. in Anthropology in 1972.  During his college years he met Liana Ehlafald, who also attended the U of M, and they married on September 2, 1972 at Eccleston Bay, Georgetown Lake following their graduation from college.
He was employed at Montana State Hospital, Warm Springs, for 33 years in various positions, and retired in 2005 from his favorite job there as a computer trainer.
He chose to stay in the Anaconda area because he enjoyed the recreational opportunities of hunting, fishing and participating in archaeological surveys and digs.  For several summers he was a volunteer for the US Forest Service “Passport in Time” program and also spent time participating in a private archaeological project near Philipsburg.
Ken was a man with many interests, including, but not limited to, rescuing injured wildlife, flint knapping, geo-caching, volunteering for the historic resource board and Pintler Pets, and engaging his Facebook friends with humorous commentary on a variety of topics.  Creating unique gadgets and making knives with bone carved handles were also hobbies. He is also remembered for entertaining exploits with his children and their friends in their younger years and later on with his grandchildren.  He enjoyed music and was adept at playing guitar with a local band for a short time and ended his foray as a musician with weekly gatherings in his garage.  He also trained in various martial arts over several years.
Having traveled the world in his youth with his parents, he was content to limit his adult travels to the Oregon coast for summer vacations and road trips to Colorado to see family.
Generous with his time and talents is how friends have described him as well as entertaining with his wit and humor and knowledgeable on various topics that interested him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Karen, and is survived by his wife of 49 years Liana, his daughter Jill, son- in- law Mike and four grandchildren Kaleb, Gavin, Aiden and Brianna Sabota of Spokane, WA, his son Jeff of Kalispell, his brother Mark of Anaconda, his sister Martha of Copperopolis, CA, sister Nancy Lambert of Prescott, AZ, his two nephews Steven of Colorado and Michael Scott of Illinois and their families, and his sister- in- law Karen of Anaconda.
No services are planned at this time.  In remembrance of Ken enjoy a sunrise, feed the birds, catch a fish, or listen to a song by Dire Straits or John Denver.

Ellen "Sis" C. Tocher - July 27, 1935 - February 07, 2022

Departed: 02/07/2022 (Anaconda)
Obituary Preview: Ellen “Sis” Tocher, age 86, passed away Monday, February 7th 2022 at St. Pat’s Hospital in Missoula Mt, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Sis was born in Anaconda Mt on July 27th, 1935 to Hank and Marg Walsh of 711 Birch Street. She was the second of five children. She graduated from Anaconda Central High School and continued to be a proud Central Saint throughout her life. After graduating high school, she took a job for the Anaconda Company.
She met Don Tocher in her early teenage years. They married on April 23,1960 and started their journey together and soon welcomed five beautiful children. After their many travels throughout the United States, they returned back to Anaconda thinking they were settled, until one night at dinner, they asked the kids if they knew where Persia was. They dug out the map (there was no Google in 1975). With that, the adventure began again.  Don & Sis’s family of seven left the United State bound for Iran where they lived and soaked up a whole new culture for over two years. Iran was just the beginning for Don and Sis. After raising their family, Don and Sis’s travels brought them to Mexico for five years, Thailand for over a year, and finally Nevada, where Don retired. They returned to their Anaconda roots to live out the rest of their lives with family, enjoying watching their grandkids grow, and spending time with dear friends.
Sis was extremely happy to be home with her family and friends.  She immersed herself in Toast Masters and discovered her public speaking talent, even bringing home a State Championship.  She brought so many smiles to our faces as she recited her “Give Me A “C”” speech throughout Anaconda over the years.  Another love was the friendships she had with the Anaconda Lady Ancient Order of Hibernians. Throughout her years of involvement, she was a Local President, State President, Historian, Mrs. Santa Claus at the annual Christmas party and the Grand Marshall for the 2011 St. Patrick’s Day parade. She marched with enthusiasm as a member of the Anaconda Ladies Washerwomen, and she never missed an opportunity to kick up her heels during festive Irish Dances especially when she could share those experiences with her grandchildren. Just this last August 2021, Sis (as the family matriarch) offered “free advice” to generations of family members who attended the 40th Annual Tracy Family Reunion in Anaconda. Sis helped to make this world a better place.  While she will be desperately missed, her stories and legacy will always leave us inspired and smiling.
Sis is preceded in death by her parents, Hank & Marg Walsh, her older sister Miggs Lubke, her grandchildren Emily Tocher and Koldon Kenny and is now reunited with her beloved son David. She is survived by Don, her husband of 62 years, her daughter Carolynn (Brian) of Spokane WA, her son Don (Diane) of Boise ID, and her sons Dan (Sandy) and RJ (Vicky) of Anaconda. She was blessed, and loved with all of her heart, each of her eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate Sis’s life on Friday, February 11th with a visitation at 5:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 6:30 pm and a Vigil at 7:00 pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Celebration of Life will continue on Saturday, February 12th starting with a visitation at 9:30 am followed by Mass at 10:30 am and a graveside service at Mount Olivet Cemetery. There will be a luncheon to follow at Holy Family Church.
There is an old Irish legend in pre-Christian Ireland that speaks about the land of Tír na nÓg, the land of eternal youth and beauty.  It’s described as an Island paradise for the Celtic people who have since passed.  So as Sis makes her journey to Tír na nÓg, let’s give her “a big sis boom bah”.

Frankie Ann Housel - November 02, 1940 - February 02, 2022

Departed: 02/02/2022 (Anaconda)
Obituary Preview: FRANKIE ANN HOUSEL 1940-2022
Frankie Ann Housel passed away at the Community Hospital of Anaconda on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the age of 81 years young with her loving children and husband by her side.
Frankie was born November 2, 1940 to Olive and Wayne Witt in Charleston, Utah. She attended school and graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber, Utah in 1958. Shortly after, she married Jack Housel, Sr.  They were sealed together for time and eternity through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jack’s work took them out of Utah and after several moves, they landed in Philipsburg, MT and Frankie fell in love. She told Jack, “no more moves!” She remained in Philipsburg until her death, 54 years later. Jack and Frankie were blessed with six children: five boys and one daughter. They were married for 21 years when they divorced.  Frankie married Maury Courtney with whom she had her last child, James. She and Maury later divorced. About 20 years after their divorce, Jack and Frankie reunited and got remarried, on the same day as their first wedding, August 15. They remained married until her death, almost another 20 years later!!
Frankie was known for her intense work ethic, sometimes holding down 2-3 full time jobs while she raised her children. She worked at the Antler’s Café, the Gallery Café, and worked as a CNA for 25 plus years at Granite County Medical Center. Until her death she was an active and important part of the H&R Thrift store and was a member of the Board. Her last shift volunteering was shortly before her death. All of her family got multiple and wonderful gifts from her beloved Thrift Store!  Frankie was also a very active member of the Philipsburg Schools where all seven of her children graduated! Even with work, she hardly ever missed a ball game or a concert of any kind! Frankie was always a very active member of her church and the callings therein. She was a firm believer in her faith and loved her time doing temple work.
Frankie’s entire universe revolved around her children and then her grandchildren! She was the literal “glue” that held them all together, through good times and bad. Her biggest accomplishment in life was her family. Frankie lost her own immediate family early in her life and always said she was the “last one left.” And we know she made them proud!! Her biggest sorrow was losing her son, Steven, in 2000. She was never quite the same after his death. Frankie was an outstanding woman, who gave to anyone she could, who listened without judgment, who loved relentlessly, who worked her fingers to the bone, and who never, ever complained. We all never could quite figure out how she withstood the pain she was in all of these years. She just “did it!” She will always be remembered as a person her children, her grandchildren and all of her friends and family aspire to be!
Frankie is survived by her loving husband, Jack of the Philipsburg home, her children, Jack, Jr. (Jan) of Libby, MT, Michael (Amanda) of Manning, ND, Timothy (Osmar) of Billings, MT, Mark (Jodie) of Dillon MT, Carrie (Jay) of Drummond, MT, and Jim (Bobi) of Mount Vernon, WA; 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her honorary boys Richard, Tom, and Ray O’Dell, honorary daughter, Carla (Robert) Fresquez and her amazing stepchildren from Georgia.
Frankie is preceded in death by her mother Olive, her father Wayne, her brother Duane, her son Steven as well as multiple other family members. “We love our mom because she gave us everything…..she gave us love, she gave us hope, she gave us her soul….she gave us her time!”
Services will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Philipsburg, MT at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the same location at 10 AM.
