Obituary Preview: Julie enjoyed a good obituary. Since she died suddenly in a tragic car accident, March 4, 2022, she did not get to write her own as planned, so this is what she gets. Julie Jo Weigert was born on November 11, 1961 the daughter of Darrell and Judith (Robinson) Weigert in Eldora, Iowa. She was the second born of 3 children. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1980. Shortly after she attended Northeast Iowa Technical Institute where she received her Associate’s degree in Nursing. She spent her career caring for others. She worked at a few nursing homes, the Cresco Hospital, and ended her nursing career working at Mayo Clinic for the last 25 years.
Julie married Jr Bolson, and later divorced. To this union two children were born, Bethany and Janel. Then she married Bob Pavlovec, and later divorced but remained good friends.
Julie was known for her witty sense of humor and feisty personality. She was opinionated, not afraid to speak her mind, and always had a story to tell. She was a good friend, mom, daughter and sister and could always be counted on. Julie was a lover of good food, dogs, plants, sunny days riding her Harley and day drinking with friends. She loved driving her black Eldorado, and listening to Merle Haggard. During her free time she enjoyed driving through cemeteries, antiquing, shopping for treasures at Goodwill, and canning food from her garden. Julie was known for her great love of animals, her dogs were her children, and she had many pets over the years including chickens, horses, cows and goats. She loved visiting her grandkids and making memories baking with them. Julie was known for her good cooking, and always wanting to feed everyone.
She was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many who loved her.
Julie is preceded into death by her mother, Judith Weigert, nephew Gregory Mlady, and Aunt Niki Prochaska. Julie is survived by her daughters, Bethany (Dylan) Schrage of Vinton, Iowa, Janel (Kyle) Ollendieck of Cresco, Iowa; her grandchildren, Nolan, Beckett and Brooks Schrage, and Shade and Lucy Ollendieck; her father Darrell Weigert, step-mother Sue Weigert, a brother Gene (Mary) Weigert, a sister Joni Mlady (Al Zweibohmer), nephews Christopher Weigert, Nick Weigert, Fletcher Weigert; and a niece Sami Weigert.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 13th, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Lime Springs Community Center. Memorials may be directed to Lindstrom Funeral Home. There will be a private burial.

Obituary Preview: Evelyn Mensink was born May 21, 1925 in Fillmore County MN. She was the first child of Edmond and Pearl (Wesselink) Hendrickson. She attended country school and high school in Wykoff, MN. On August 13 1942 she married Kenny Mensink at the Cherry Grove Methodist Church by Reverend Zahl. Kenny and Evelyn farmed in the Cherry Grove and Lime Springs areas for about 20 years. They moved to Lime Springs in 1964. Kenny ran a blacksmith shop and then they ran the Lime Springs Standard Station and Evelyn continued to raise their seven children. Evelyn was a member of the Lime Springs United Methodist Church. She was always busy doing odd jobs for people including cleaning and helping her mother wallpaper. For over 25 years Evelyn was a reporter for the Lime Springs newspaper. Evelyn loved her family; she and Kenny enjoyed attending school events and going to family functions. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Kenny Mensink of Lime Springs; seven children: Larry Mensink of St. Ansgar, IA, Allen (Janet) Mensink of Lime Springs, IA, Karen (Gary) Heyer of Spring Valley MN, Darla (Jeff) Heusinkveld of Spring Valley MN, Vickie (Rich) Ator of Lime Springs, IA, Bryce (Brenda) Mensink of LeRoy MN and Becky (Steve) Sjostrom of Spring Valley, MN; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister Marilyn (Robert) Emerson of Manchester IA. Obituary Preview: Gertrude Hughes, 84, of Lime Springs, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. Gertrude Ann Collins Hughes, daughter of Claude and Florence Collins, was born June 16, 1930, at the home of her grandparents, Herbert and Gertrude Shuttleworth, in Cresco, Iowa. She attended school in Lime Springs, IA, graduating in May 1947. In 1949, she received her teaching certificate from the Iowa State Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls, IA. Gertrude went on to become a music teacher and grade school teacher in the Tripoli, IA, school system. Gertrude married Eddie George Hughes on June 8, 1949, in the United Methodist Church in Lime Springs. Gertrude and Eddie were parents of six sons: James, Wayne, Jarold, Donald, David, and Robert. While the boys were growing up, Gertrude was a substitute teacher with the Howard-Winneshiek School system. Music and faith played important roles in Gertrude’s life. Starting at the age of nine, she sang for many years in various Cresco and Lime Springs choirs. Gertrude was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Lime Springs. She served as President of the Lime Springs United Methodist Women for twelve years, taught Sunday School and music for the Sunday School classes, read scriptures during church services, and served as the secretary of the church’s Administrative Board. Gertrude belonged to many organizations during her life in Lime Springs: Oneota Club, American Legion Auxilliary, WNO Club, and Boy Scouts. While her six sons were active in Boys Scouts, she happily served as a Cub Scout Leader. Gertrude lived for the love of family, home, church, and friends. Blessings abounded in her life, and she was eternally thankful for the wonderful family and friends she had gathered in her life. Gertrude is survived by her husband Eddie of Lime Springs, IA and family: James (Penny) of Cresco, IA, Jarold (Ronda) of Lime Springs, IA, Donald (Cathy) of Aitkin, MN, David (Trisia) of Baxter, MN, and Robert (Julie) of Fort Dodge, IA, daughter-in-law Julianne of Phoenix, AZ; 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters Janice and Marilyn, brother Donald, and many extended family members. Obituary Preview: Floyd was born April 16, 1913 in Howard County to William and Ella (Kleiboer) Foote. Floyd married the love of his life, Eva May Nicoll in Logansport, Indiana on February, 20, 1937. Together they farmed their entire lives until 1978. At age 18 Floyd started hauling cream with a horse and sleigh, he continued to haul cream and milk until 1972. In 1939 he bought a new John Deere A tractor that was his pride and joy for many years, the tractor is still in the family. In his spare time Floyd enjoyed following boxing and high school wrestling. Floyd and Eva wintered in Donna, Texas for 37 years and returned to the family farm to live every summer until entering the Cresco Care Center in September of 2011. Floyd is survived by four children: Elinor Taylor of Ionia, IA, Roger (Donna) Foote of Lime Springs, IA, Connie (Roger) Ihrke of Elgin, MN and David (Vickie) Foote of Fate, TX; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
