Deborah Shiller - May 14, 1955 - February 28, 2021

Departed: 02/28/2021 (Fort Lauderdale)
Obituary Preview: Deborah Shiller, 65, of Hendersonville N.C., but "Florida Girl" for 50+years, and in heart, joined her two best friends(sisters Carolyn Boatwright and Regina "Diane" McGregor) and God, on February 28th, 2021. She passed peacefully, in her home and favorite place, after her hard battle with cancer. Cancer will never forget that fight.
Known as Deb, although she never liked that name, she was born on May 14th, 1955 to Flora Mae and the Clarence Merrell. She spent her early years climbing the N.C. mountains, camping, swimming, catching lizards, and helping raise her sister Diane. In high school, she was on the varsity basketball team, and was the prettiest cheerleader on the squad. Always a fashionista at heart, she went to cosmetology school and received her degree in 1984.
She loved cutting and styling hair, but after 20 years her hands could no longer take the hours. She took a job in beauty product sales, that turned into a highly successful, award-filled career in teaching. She taught sales techniques, taught product use, and helped make businesses very successful.
Teaching was her passion, but family was her true love. She is survived by her first-born Jamie Shiller, her second born Justin Shiller, and her three grandchildren, Savannah, Cole, and Ayrise Shiller. She was preceded by her father Clarence, mother Flora, brother Peewee Merrell, and sisters Carolyn and Diane. She taught her kids and grandchildren about life, loving each other, respect, hard work, being kind to strangers and those less fortunate, and to live life properly, to be free of regrets.
She loved traveling, seeing new places, and meeting new people. In her down time, she walked the beach at her house looking for shells, collected art, loved dinners with friends, but really enjoyed just sitting on her balcony drinking her favorite coffee. This world would be a far better place with more Deborah Shiller's in it. God truly gained an ANGEL in the early hours of this past Sunday.
Deborah’s children and grandchildren would like to invite those able, to attend a Celebration of her life on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 4-6:30pm where cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served.  The gathering will take place at 1221 NE 14th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304.  At 6:30pm Deborah’s children will welcome those in attendance and give opportunity for those who want to share stories about Deborah to do so. Those who are unable to attend the Celebration may see it live streamed and a link will be uploaded here on Monday. If you have questions or need to call about parking, please call us at 954-889-3800.
Life Celebrations Memorial Chapel is honored to help Deborah’s family with services to celebrate and memorialize the life she so dearly loved.

Daniel "Danny, Daddy or Frenchy" Fequiere - July 09, 1953 - September 01, 2019

Departed: 09/01/2019 (Fort Lauderdale)
Obituary Preview: Eddie Daniel Fequiere also known as Danny, Daddie or Frenchy, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on July 9, 1953  to the union of his parents, L'herisson Fequiere and Marie Therese Xavier Fequiere.
On September 1, 2019 at 2:17 pm our beloved Danny made a peaceful transition at the tender age of 66 at Northwest Medical Center, Margate, Florida with his family by his side.  He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his aunts Elina Fequiere and Anne Xavier, his sister Paulette (Popo) Fequiere and his nephew Reginald Herard.
Daniel moved to the United States in 1964 with his father and little brother, JoEl. Danny quickly adapted to the unfamiliar culture and language and made Brooklyn, NY his home. Danny was so proud of his family and heritage that he brought many of his new found friends home just to taste his mom’s home cook meals, teach them the Haitian Kreyol language and listen to the sound of Haitian music. Danny graduated from Wingate High School and went off to Albany State University.  After college, he joined the United States Air Force in 1975. Danny travelled to many countries with the military. He was stationed in California for the rest of his military career. Danny worked at various Los Angeles County hospitals as a Surgical Technician until he retired in 2017.
At the age of 16, Danny developed a lifelong love for photography and art.  He traveled all over the world and continued to enhance his love for photography by taking many portraits, landscape and scenery. Danny loved to share his passion. Anyone who showed interest in photography, his advice was always, “photography begins with an idea but, the job of a true photographer is to manipulate the camera to see the image as an art that is beyond any initial expectations.” In addition to photography, Danny was an avid collector of watches and remote control planes. Because of his love for his family, he also had a strong desire to leave a legacy where he gave his collections as gifts to his children, siblings, nieces, nephews and other family members. Danny’s favorite pastime was to spend many hours building and flying drones. His biggest dream was to start an aerial photography/videography business with his best friend and brother, JoEl.
In 1986 he met the love of his life, Shirlee, whom he married in 1988.  They began a life full of adventure and love from the very start. He became a father to her two children, Chester and Ebony; they had a daughter Da-Nyelle Marie T’herisson Fequiere (whom he fondly called “Junior”).  He was completely devoted to his family – loving and providing for them continuously, exposing them to his Haitian culture and infusing them with a legacy of love and family. Although Da-Niel and Shirlee separated after 20 years of marriage, they never stopped loving each other nor ceased to be friends. Danny had a gift of reaching out and keeping in touch with all of his friends and relatives.  He believed in family and friendship and they all knew that he would reach out to them to make sure things were okay.  His calls were never long, just long enough to let the family know he was okay and to ensure they were as well. Danny also love to laugh and tell jokes. When anyone was around Danny, rest to sure, we will be laughing and having a great conversation!
Danny is survived by 3 brothers: Wilson and his spouse Murielle, Frantz and his spouse Roselyn, and JoEl. 2 sisters: Nicole Jean and her spouse Maurice, Mimose Fequier-Harris and her spouse Scott.  Aunt Emmacula Xavier and Uncle Le Bein Fequiere, three children, Chester Stewart, Ebony Ladson and DaNyelle Fequiere-Hudson, their spouses, Warren Ladson, and Brandon Hudson, his former wife Shirlee, six grandchildren, Nevaeh, Promise, Isaiah (twin girls) Kennedy and Kendall and Carter, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:00-8:00pm at McWhite's Funeral Home, 3501 W Broward Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312 and again on Friday from 9:00am-10:00am at the First Baptist Church of Plantation, 150 NW 46th Ave, Plantation, Florida 33317.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am from the First Baptist Church of Plantation.  Family and friends will gather at noon just outside of the church where Military honors will be accorded by the US Air Force and the American Legion Post # 222, followed by the repass which is being held in the fellowship hall of the church.
Interment services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:15am at the South Florida National Cemetery.  Those wishing to attend are encouraged to assemble at McWhite Funeral Home, 3501 W Broward Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312 by 10:00am on Monday.
Life Celebrations Memorial Chapel is honored to assist the Fequiere family in Daniels final accommodations, held under the direction of McWhite's.
