Of Kenmore, NY went home to the Lord on March 24, 2024. Born on June 7th, 1949. Bruce was 74 years old. Loving, and devoted husband of 49 years to Patricia (Skop) Markwardt; Dear loving father of Maria (Joseph) Militello; Loving, devoted grandfather of Joseph Jacob and Anthony Bruce; Brother of Sandy (Dick) Ryan, Paul (JoAnn) and Greg (Debbie) Markwardt; Brother-in-law of Dan and the late Jack Skop; Loving son of the late Mary Ann and Donald Markwardt; Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Bruce was a devoted family man and husband. He adored the love of his life, his wife of 49 years , Patty. Proud, dedicated, loving Father of Maria, and son in law Joe. Proud, dedicated, and loving Grandfather of Joey and Tony, He lived for his family. He always said his grandsons and family gave him "life". There was absolutely nothing he wouldn't do for his family. Bruce was absolutely selfless, and throughout his life of 74 years was always helping his family in any way that he could. Bruce was a "Master Auto Technician" for his whole life. He could diagnose a car problem usually by just listening to the engine. He loved working with his hands and spent his life working on cars and whatever needed "fixing". It seemed as though he could "fix" anything. Cars, computers, electronics and appliances..As long as he could "fix something", he was happy! His favorite saying was " The squeaky wheel gets the grease!" He always had a smile on his face and was always talking and laughing. He was an avid car enthusiast, loved classic rock music, woodworking, reading, and meals shared with family. He was also a very proud American that served in the US Air Force.. Diagnosed with a serious heart condition in 1994, Dr's told him he had 6 months to one year to live. Despite that, he never gave up or let that bring him down and forged on.. He was proof that having a strong will to live, a loving wife and family, faith in God, along with a positive attitude can make all the difference. Bruce was a true blessing to his family and friends. We are all very grateful for the time we were able to spend with this wonderful man, and proud of all that he accomplished in his life. He had a big heart and will be terribly missed. The love he gave will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. We will continue to celebrate his life.
