Joseph Grogan - September 27, 1961 - March 28, 2024

Departed: 03/28/2024 (Rego Park)
Obituary Preview: It is with heavy heart, that we announce the passing of Joseph Grogan, 62, of Middle Village New York, who died peacefully on March 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Queens, Joe attended Cathedral Preparatory High School and continued in his father’s footsteps in New York’s construction / iron worker industry. Joe worked on many iconic buildings that shape the New York City skyline today. Simply said, he loved his work! There was not a scaffolding he couldn’t climb or a problem he could not figure out. In the cold and heat, the work went on.
Joe chose to continue his education in the field rather than the formal way, but just as his father, he could match the talents and skill of many an engineer. “I got it; don’t worry about it” was always Joe’s response.
Joe was the fifth child of Aloysius (deceased) and Bridie (nee Crehan). Although he was a middle child, Joe stood out for his strength and passion to carve his own path.
Joe is survived by his 3 children, Kelly (Michael), Joseph, and Tara (Steve), and his 2 grandsons, Callan and Declan. Joe is also survived by his mother, Bridie, and his nine brothers and sisters, sister in laws, brother in laws and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles in addition to his long term friend, Maria Beneat, who cared for Joe lovingly and kindly - especially in his last days.
Joe will be missed by his family and friends. He was loved more than he realized and will be remembered by many for all the good times. Under Joe’s tough persona was a kind soul who would lend a hand to anyone in need. His heart of gold was there to the end.
Rest in peace.
