Clovis Faye Cobb - October 12, 1954 - April 24, 2024

Departed: 04/24/2024 (Wellston)
Obituary Preview: Clovis Faye (Nance) Cobb was welcomed into this world on October 12, 1954, to Raymond and Mandy Nance at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Clovis passed from this world on April 24, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Clovis was the youngest of four children born to Raymond and Mandy, she was the baby girl, and had three big brothers. Growing up the only girl in a family of boys was not easy, but it gave Clovis the grit and determination she would need later in life as she took on the roll of mother to quite a large family.
In 1972, Clovis met the love of her life, Robert Carlis Cobb, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This meeting would be the beginning of a very special 52-year relationship that resulted in the establishment of a strong, loving, and compassionate family. The Cobb family home was overfilled with love, laughter and kids, many, many, kids, 9 in total! Clovis not only loved her kids, but she also loved her friend’s kids, her kid’s friends, the neighbor’s kids, and any other kid that needed love. Clovis exhibited an unconditional love that was unmatched, and she instilled this into her family, creating a legacy of unconditional love.
As her children matured, they began families of their own, bringing unbound joy to Clovis with the addition of each grandchild, and later in life, each great grandchild! Clovis was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend anyone could ever ask for. The joy she garnered from being with the ones she loved was evident in her ever-present smile, a smile so beautiful that it was contagious.
Clovis’s love was not reserved only for her family and friends, she loved experiencing life, she loved animals, she loved the beach and lighthouses, she loved to work in the yard, she loved her gold fish pond and her chickens, she loved to star-gaze on the observation deck, she loved to have pool parties and cook outs, she loved road trips, she loved family dinners and game night. Most importantly she loved, she loved hard, she loved raw, and she loved unconditionally.
Clovis’s relationship with her creator, Jehovah God, was strong and carried her through the difficult times in her life. She was strong in her faith that when this life ended, an eternity in paradise awaited her.
Clovis Faye Cobb was preceded by her parents, Raymond and Mandy Nance, brothers Ray Nance and J.C. Nance, Aunt Linda Reeder, and Uncles Jon T. Hill and Cecil Nance.

Betty Ann Dawley - August 27, 1947 - March 30, 2024

Departed: 03/30/2024 (Wellston)
Obituary Preview: On March 30, 2024 Betty Ann George Dawley departed her earthly home. Upon her arrival in heaven, it has been confirmed, Mona Lisa’s smile is in fact the 2nd most famous.
Betty was born August 27, 1947 to Robert Allen and Anna Lois (Mullen) George. She attended Chandler public school and lived her entire life in Chandler. Betty retired from ONG after many years, leaving behind the most systematic, sanitized, methodical, structured orderly organized office in the history of the company. Her life revolved around music, mainly the piano and organ. She began playing the piano at the Friends Church when she was in the 8th grade. Thanks to BUD and Deloris George for sending her to organ lessons. She made playing simultaneously with both hands and bare feet look easy. Although she taught Sunday school for 40 years she continued to study, even after losing her sight. Thanks to her fancy hearing aids that linked to her fancy iPhone that connected to her fancy bible app, she could continue teaching her class when she figured out her fancy iPad had dictation. (You’re welcome mom, no one wanted you to retire, even though you were driving me crazy trying to help you navigate technology and continually messing up your font size and losing the print button.) Yes, she had us all fooled by her amazing memorization skills, counting steps, feeling her way around rooms waiting to catch a glow from specific light fixtures to know where she was. Betty was dedicated to her children JR & Debbie Ratliff, church and to her God. She loved the mission trips, especially the trip to Africa.
She was married to Rip Dawley for 30 years. They loved to travel by bus, cruise ship, planes, and trains. She looked forward to family reunions, entertaining, cooking, setting the table with real plates, silverware, and cloth napkins, thank you very much, paper plates are for the birds! Although we can all remember the one and only time in 2022, she let us use paper plates and plastic forks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son James Robert (JR) Ratliff and husband Rip Dawley. Those left to cherish her memories are daughter Debbie Ratliff, Sister Letha George Ramsey, and husband Terroll. Two nieces Angela & Monty Ward, Terra & Zac Morrow. Johnny & Tracey Massucci, David & Geneva Dawley, grandsons David & Bri Dawley, Eric & Andrea Dawley. Very precious to Betty are the six great grandchildren and her greatest joy was making chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodle cookies and key lime pie with and for Rhianne, Gracie, Addie, Ella, Jackson, and Kevin. Aunt Doris George, Aunt Joy (Mullen) Wilson and Uncle Charlie Mullen.
Special thanks to cousins Mary Beth Howard & Robert Beard who never left Betty and Debbie’s side. Tracey Massucci for the love, gentle care, and tenderness during the most difficult time of her transition and Johnny Massucci for taking her on walks and sitting on the porch so she could feel the sun. Emerald Hospice & Cornerstone Caregivers.  Donations can be made in Betty’s honor to: Kibima Hospital 3320 S Oak, Wichita, KS 67217.
A memorial service will be held at the Chandler Friends Church at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April, 2, 2024.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
