Myron R Parsons - February 29, 1932 - May 12, 2024

Departed: 05/12/2024 (East Troy)
Obituary Preview: Myron Reginald Parsons of East Troy went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2024. Born February 29, 1932, in Marshfield to Reginald Parsons (born in the 19 th Century in Exeter, Ontario, Canada) and Mary (Trappe), he was the older of two sons. As brothers growing up together, he and Don walked “a mile and a half through (at times) three- and four-foot drifts” to their country school, used a sled to catch a ride behind a car by hanging onto the bumper to Goose Island Ice Skating Rink, played baseball in the neighborhood, and both achieved Eagle Scout. “We learned through the preaching and teaching of (one of) God’s faithful servants how much God loved us and the tremendous sacrifice He has made to reclaim us”. Decades later Myron’s Bible highlighting attests to this faith from childhood: “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38, 39) Myron graduated from Janesville High School in 1950. He graduated from Milton College in 1955, and later earned his Masters at UW-Whitewater (1972). He joined the U.S. Army in 1955 and served two years at Fort Devens in Massachusetts. On September 15, 1956, Myron married Shirley Ann Blaser at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in
Janesville. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Jeff, Tom, Ron and Karen. Myron began teaching at the East Troy Junior High School in 1958 and, after 32 years, retired in 1990. He left with many fond memories of students and fellow staff, and with stories of surreptitious underground ping pong tournaments. He was the seventh-grade social studies teacher for all four of his children. Later he enjoyed the challenges of driving a bus for Jones Travel & Tour, included defending bus and passengers from rock-throwing ruffians. After retirement, he and Shirley were snowbirds to Mesa, Arizona where they
made friends, played golf, ping pong, and cards, hiked and took in shows. Myron had fun, relishing golf, appreciating classic cars (especially Hudson), identifying airplanes in flight by their sound, teaming with his brother to beat us kids in football, and destroying challengers at ping pong with either hand, or later, with both hands. As children, many Saturday mornings, we had the “privilege” of picking up five-gallon -
buckets of acorns in the yard, telling Dad stories (always true!), and watching him laugh. His hearty laughter came often and easily, oftentimes bringing him to tears. Myron and Shirley enjoyed travelling, theater (with Art & Barb and Roy & Shirley), the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and East Troy High School athletics. His faith was demonstrated in his consistent involvement in the local church (teaching, singing in choir) and financial support of missionaries, which included housing a missionary family. Myron and Shirley valued family-- attending many grandchildren’s high school and college graduations, sporting, fair, and musical performances, and weddings. He held a special place in his heart for young children, who readily brought a smile to his face. In more recent years with failing health, Myron and Shirley enjoyed sitting together listening to hymns and good preaching. Myron is survived by his beloved wife of more than 67 years, Shirley; four children, Jeff(Nanda) Parsons of New Haven, Missouri, Tom (Doris) Parsons of Eagle, Ron (Kim)Parsons of East Troy and Karen (Dave) Wutke of Smithville, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, Noah (Elizabeth) Parsons, Taylor (Craig) Bodenschatz, Millicent (Mike) Doud, Ryan (Melissa) Parsons, Olivia (Chad) Randol, Jacob (Makaela) Wutke, Morgan Parsons, Anya (Andrew) Brandenburg, Hayley (Steven) Kaylor, Mitchell Wutke (fiancée Melody Johnson), Wyatt Parsons, Allison Parsons, Keagan Parsons, Chase Wutke, Logan Parsons, Julianna Parsons, Joshua Wutke; 17 great-grandchildren, Selah, Eliora, Enoch, Silas, Gideon, and Othniel Parsons; Nora, Montgomery, Gilbert, Daphne, and Frances Bodenschatz; Arrietty, Tobias, Thessily, and Cambria Doud; Ezra and Malia Wutke; and one on the way (a little Kaylor); one sister-in-law, Diana Parsons; her daughters, Katherine Detwiler and children and Regina (Brian) Meier and children and many other relatives and dear friends. Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Mary Parsons, his brother
Kaye Don Parsons, and a grandson, Michael Wutke. A ceremony honoring Myron Parsons will be held at Briggs Road Evangelical Free
Church, Elkhorn on Saturday June 1st at 12:30, with visitation from 11:00-12:30. As a family, we are thankful for the care and kindness shown by staff and volunteers at

Rose Anne Browne - March 12, 1926 - April 28, 2024

Departed: 04/28/2024 (East Troy)
Obituary Preview: Rose Browne (98) passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, in Thousand Oaks, CA surrounded by her loving children Helen and Rich, Maureen, Bobby and Rosie and her loving grandchildren. Rose Anne, who was named after her grandmother, was born on March 12,1926, in Winetown, Rathowen, County Westmeath. She was the 4th of 4 children and the only girl. Her father Bernard (Brian) McLoughlin had passed away several months prior to her birth, after contracting meningitis. Without a breadwinner in the family and with limited employment options for women in Ireland, her mother, Mary Ellen McLoughlin, emigrated to the United States, while Rose was still an infant. Mary needed to find a job to support her children's needs. After Mary Ellen left for the US, Rose’s single aunts, Margaret, and Kate McLoughlin took over the care of Rose and her siblings, Bernard (Barney), James (Jimmy), and Joseph (Joe). For many years, Mary Ellen sent money, and clothes, back to her children and communicated frequently through letters and family friends. When Rose turned 18, her mother helped her emigrate to the United States and this is where she settled, on the South Side of Chicago.
After moving in with her mother, in the late 1940’s, Rose’s priority was to gain employment. She enrolled in secretarial school, so that she could learn the strong skills to land a good job. Around that time, she met her future husband Bob Browne, also from Ireland, who had traveled to Chicago from Kildare. Their meeting at a local Irish Dance pretty much solidified their relationship – as they both loved to dance. In fact, they danced to the altar on October 14, 1950, and subsequently built a home in Mt. Greenwood and raised six children. After retirement they moved to California, settling first in Tehachapi, followed by Camarillo and eventually Thousand Oaks. In October 2020, they celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary with a drive-by celebration sponsored by their daughter Helen, her husband Rich and their many friends who cherished Bob and Rose dearly. Rose enrolled in Jones Commercial High School to learn secretarial skills and eventually gained employment at Johnson & Johnson where she worked for several years prior to the birth of her six children. Rose was a stay-at-home mom until all her children were enrolled in school. Eventually Rose returned to work as an Admitting Clerk at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island Il. She continued to work after retirement to help fund her goal of moving to California to be closer to Helen, Rich, and their beautiful grandchildren. Rose was a gifted seamstress and knitter who made most of her daughter’s clothes, vests for her sons, Irish cable knit sweaters for the entire family and outfits for summer, holidays, and important school events. Rose eventually turned her skills to making quilts for her children, grandchildren, and close family friends. She was very talented and wasn’t afraid to take on a challenging project as a way of improving her skills. Both Bob and Rose loved to garden, and each spring and summer they filled their yard with petunias, zinnias (one of her favorites), roses and marigolds. The family home was awash with the color of beautiful flowers every year And as for her cooking and baking skills, she made the Best Irish Soda Bread in Chicago, which she regularly brought to friends’ homes for special events. Rose and Bob raised six children, James Patrick (Jimmy), Maureen Therese, Rose Anne (Rosie), Robert Michael (Bobby), Sean Thomas and Helen Marie. Rose was a devout Catholic who impressed on her children the importance of love of God and the sacraments. The family regularly said the Rosary during Lent and attended Mass every Sunday at St. Christina Parish in Mt. Greenwood Another fun Rose family tradition was to celebrate EVERYONE whenever there was a family birthday. So, not only did the Birthday Boy or Girl get a present, so did all the brothers and sisters. What a great idea!
Christmas was also a time for giving, and though on a limited budget, Rose did her best to get her children to send their Sears Catalog requests to Santa before the big day. And let’s not forget her strong support for all her children’s extracurricular activities – which included The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts as well as organized sports.
She always had a smile for a friend or neighbor and even supported her brother Joe and her brother-in-law Chris when they moved to the US from Ireland. Not only did she support them, but they were also invited to live with the family until they were able to find housing for themselves. There was never a quiet moment at the Browne house. A devoted Catholic, a phenomenal mother, a gifted seamstress, a skilled office worker, a gardener, and a talented dancer, she demonstrated strength above and beyond that required of most humans when she lost her youngest son Sean when he was just 38 and her oldest son Jimmy when he was only 48. She did not give up her faith, her dedication to her family or her other responsibilities – she planned. She bought a burial plot that would allow her and her husband Bob to be buried next to Sean when God called them home.
And not only that, her brothers Jimmy, Joe, and her bro-in-law Chris wanted to be buried with Sean as well. St. Peter’s is their new home. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Ellen, her brother’s Barney, Jimmy and Joe, her sons Jimmy and Sean and her late husband Bob. She is survived by her children Maureen (Roy) Talbert, Rosie, Bobby, Helen (Richard) Poutier and her grandchildren Annalee (Charles Ray) Browne/Smith, Seamus (Leslie) Browne, Christopher Browne, Brendan Poutier (Bri Trischetta ) , Gerard Poutier, Richard Poutier, Brigitte Poutier and Mackenzie Browne. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews and other family members (US and Ireland) and friends. On Tuesday May 21, a visitation will be held at St James the Less Catholic Church 830 E Veterans Way, Mukwonago, WI 53149 at 10 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in East Troy following the service. You are welcome to join with us, as we celebrate the life of this incredible woman The family would like to thank the staff at Maica’s House in Thousand Oaks, CA for their tender loving care
