Obituary Preview: Seve Bomani-Changamire Day, born Andre Clement Day, 51, passed peacefully with his family by his bedside on April 8, 2022. Seve was born in Detroit, MI on August 12, 1970 to the late Jesse Clement Day and Shirley Studavent. Seve enjoyed life and loved his family; especially his 5 children. He was a devout sports fan of everything MICHIGAN; Hockey, Football, Basketball, and Baseball and it was this love and knowledge of sports that he introduced his children to that would benefit them greatly throughout their lives. Although he was an active sports fan he was also very active academically. He pushed for higher education and mentored not only his children but ANY young adult he got in contact with. He had a magnetic personality and if you were ever in his presence, he was going to crack a joke, make you smile and push you to be the best you can be. Over the past 11 years Seve has struggled with his health but his positive outlook on life is what kept him pushing forward and overcoming every adversity placed in his way. Seve attended Mackenzie High School class of 1988 at Detroit public schools in his formative years, later attending Southern University in Louisiana before departing for the military. After he would have soon completed an array of certifications and degrees at Danville Area Community College and eventually completing his formal education at Eastern Illinois University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc, Sigma Xi Chapter, a mentor, teacher, coach and leader to many. Seve married Carmen Bolden in 1992 and from that union they had 5 amazing children; Dacara Bolden, D’Andre Day, Seve Day, Jelani Day and Zena Day. Losing Jelani tragically 7 months ago was something that Seve never really recovered from so now that they are now reunited in heaven brings us just a bit of comfort. Willie Robinson - June 10, 1941 - March 05, 2022

Departed: 03/05/2022 (Danville)
Obituary Preview: The Lord God formed man from the dust of the earth. He blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. And so, Willie (Brown) Robinson, on June 10,1941, in Webb, Mississippi, became a living soul who was placed in the care of her beloved parents, Maybell and Dank Brown. Together, Mr. And Mrs. Brown had nine children and on March 5, 2022, the last living child of Maybell and Dank Brown took her final breath and answered God’s call to come home from her labor on earth.
On January 19,1961, Willie married her devoted husband of 61 years, Mr. Leroy Robinson Sr. Through her good days and bad days, Mr. Robinson served his wife faithfully. Even when met with new responsibilities and challenges, he served his wife with compassion and joy. From this union, the Robinson legacy began with nine children.
After 27 years of service at VA Illiana Health Care, Willie spent most of her time caring for her family, traveling, gardening, worshiping at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting and academic events. Willie impacted many people in her neighborhood and community and you would often hear her children and grandchildren’s friends calling her “Mom” or “Grandma” too.
Willie also loved to cook and have family gatherings. On any given Sunday you were guaranteed a nice southern home-cooked meal along with a comedy show. Willie treated everyone that walked through her doors like family.
Willie was the light of her large-loving family and she demonstrated daily how to lead with unconditional love. Her love was the strong foundation that her family stood on. Forming lifelong bonds with her children and grandchildren is what helped sustain her family’s foundation. May she always be remembered for her selfless service to her family, her nurturing spirit and her ability to bring joy and laughter to all that entered her space.
Willie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Mr. Leroy Robinson Sr; three sons, Leroy (Evonne) Robinson Jr., Stacy (Latashia) Robinson, Dennis (Dayna) Robinson and five daughters, Doris Bostic, Diane (Orlando) Robinson, Gail Robinson, Wendy Robinson and Jill Robinson who all selflessly helped take care of their mother during her sickness until her very last days. Also, to cherish her memory are 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Special mentions, Angela Pope and Betty Smith.
Willie is preceded in death by her parents, Dank and Maybell Brown; four sisters, Mary Jones, Sirlean Gordon, Bessie Chestnut, Martha Tyler; five brothers, Roosevelt Brown, M.W. Brown, Jack Brown, Earnest Lee Brown and Dank Brown Jr; One son, Eric Robinson and one grandson Joshua Jay Robinson.
