Betty was born December 8, 1949 in Kittanning PA, she was the daughter of the late Arnold  and Arlene Johnson. Betty married Ronald Sell, March 12, 1968.  Ron passed away March 17, 2020
Betty retired from Polk Center working in the dietitian department.
Betty is survived by her children Billie Jo Schatz of Harrisville and Preston Sell of Douglassville.  Her sisters Darlene Braughler and her husband Butch, Susan Kostella and her husband Ronald, Kathy Gray and Lisa Kaplon.  Her grandchildren Renee Fox, Patrick Adams, Emile Huth, Dakota Schatz and Blaze Schatz.  Her great grandchildren Sara, Leland, Odin Fox.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband son James Sell, her two brothers Larry and Tim Johnson and grandchildren Wade Oliver and Karalyn Ann Sell.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

June was born June 9, 1928, in Kennerdell to the late Eva Lorena (Latshaw) Witherup and Clark Nelson Witherup.
June graduated from Emlenton High School in 1946.
June was married to Guy Bonetti of Boyers PA, on September 24, 1952, who preceded her in death July of 2003.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers and caring for her home.  She was a member of the Harmony Grove Club where she spent many hours with friends quilting.  June enjoyed attending the Scrubgrass Senior Center.
June was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Clintonville for many years.
June is survived by her children: Kathy (Frank) Cochran of Franklin, Beverly (Ronald) Hovis of Butler and Karen (James) Ashbaugh of Warren.   She is also survived by 8 grandchildren that include Dana (Kevin) Saragian, Lisa (Bryan) Crawford, Kristy (Matt) Luketic, Lori Hovis, Jessica (Zack) Griffith, Emily (Patrick) Emmett, Olivia Ashbaugh and Stephen Ashbaugh.  June is also blessed with 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband; June is also preceded in death by her brothers; Walter Witherup, Robert Witherup and Homer Witherup as well as her sisters Bernice Brown, Verna Stewart, Jean Strouse and Olive Baker.
Funeral services will take place at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.

Janet was born December 29, 1957 in Pittsburgh.  She was the daughter of Donald and Margaret Hess Kovach.
Janet graduated from Elizabeth Seton High School.  She retired from Keystone Oaks High School where was a Special Education Support Teacher.   She loved helping the children and took great pride in her job.  Most recently Janet was enjoying her retirement riding her four-wheeler with her friends.  She loved to volunteer at the YMCA as well.
Janet’s memory will be cherished by her partner in crime and life partner Jeff Kennedy of Polk, her father Donald Kovach of Pittsburgh, her son Gregory Shedlock of Long Beach Mississippi, her grandson Calvin Shedlock of Long Beach Mississippi.  Janets brother and sisters David Kovach and his wife Patricia of Cranberry Twp, Sandy Wheeler and her husband John of Pittsburgh, Daniel Kovach and his wife Jennifer of Pittsburgh.
Janet was preceded in  death by her mother and her daughter Sarah Shedlock.

Robert Owens Jr. - February 14, 1943 - April 01, 2022

Obituary Preview: Robert Owens Jr., 79, of Kennerdell passed away peacefully with his children by his side on April 1, 2022 at UPMC Seneca.
Bob was born February 14, 1943 in Franklin. He was the son of the late Robert Owens Sr. and Gertrude Lawson.
He married Alice Holbrook on December 22, 1962. The couple celebrated 56 years of marriage prior to Alice’s passing on February 18, 2019. Together the couple had six children, Tina, Malissa, Ladona, Michael, Robert and Robin.
He retired from Hovis Auto Supply in Franklin where he delivered parts. He had previously worked at the Franklin Hospital as an orderly as well as for the News Herald and Derrick delivering papers for many years. Bob loved Classic cars, drag racing and bluegrass. He was an avid fisherman and hunter when his health permitted. For many years riding his Harley was a favorite pastime.  Bob was also a member of Polk and Sandycreek Fire Police for many years.
Loved ones to cherish Bob’s memory are his children Tina Pegg of Utica, Malissa Owens of Kennerdell, Ladona Strouse and her husband Doug of Kennerdell and Michael Owens of Franklin. His beloved grandchildren Joshua, Nikki, Justin, Tanesha and her husband Sam, Shawna, Brandi and her husband Mike, Kyle, Jessica and her husband John, Wayne and his wife Jessica, Cassidy and his wife, and Sandy. Numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive. Bob’s granddog Oreo will dearly miss him. In honor of Bob's favorite pastimes friends and family are encouraged to dress accordingly.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice, his sons Robin L. and Robert "Bobby" M. Owens, his grandson Andrew, his sister Barb Whitten and her husband Lou. Obituary Preview: Dolores J. “Dot” Kaylor, 91 of Kennerdell passed away March 18, 2022 at Autumn Grove Nursing Home in Harrisville. Dot was born June 24, 1930 in Erie.  She was the daughter of the late Leonard Mitchell and Sarah Mason
Dot graduated from Rockland High School. She married Edward J. Kaylor on November 4, 1960, he survives.  Dot retired from the US Postal Services as a mail carrier.
Dot enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their motor home.  She loved to quilt and crocheting.  Dot enjoyed her garden.  She looked forward to having tea on the patio with her friends and neighbors.
Dot is survived by her husband Edward Kaylor of Kennerdell, her children Edward Hasenplug and his wife Cindy of Erie, Barbara Oliphant and her husband James of Kennerdell, Daniel Kaylor and his wife Linda of Clintonville, Timothy Hasenplug and his wife Charlene of Kennerdell and Debra Boren and her husband Darryl of Kennerdell.  Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.  Brother in laws John Kaylor and his wife Doris and Thomas Kaylor and his wife Delores also survive.
Dot is preceded in death by her parents and her son Theodore Kaylor.

Obituary Preview: Sheila Cross, 61 of Hadley, formerly of Clintonville, passed away March 15, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Sheila was born April 28, 1960 in Olean, New York.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Slaugenhaupt and Elizabeth Baker.
Sheila graduated from Keystone High School in Knox.  She retired in 2016 as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She worked for Autumn Grove Living Center in Harrisville and also for Trinity Living Center in Grove City.
Sheila loved spending time with her grandchildren who loving called her G-Ma.  She was always up for a ride in the county, whether she was the driver or the passenger.  Shelia was a great with a sewing machine, making clothes, aprons and many other items her family will treasure.  Spending time at the lake was one of her favorite things to do as well.
Loved ones to cherish Sheila memory are her daughters Brenda Cross and her companion Isacc of Hadley and Sonya VanCise and her husband Zach of Marble. Her mother Betty Baker of Virginia, her step mother Frances Slaugenhaupt of Knox, her husband David Cross on Harrisville.    Her grandchildren Elie, Emmitt, Asher, Nicolette and Penelope.  Her brothers Edward Slaugenhaupt and his wife Deb of Sligo and David Paulson of Virginia.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, a brother Robert Slaugenhaupt Jr. and her sister Barbara Henninger.

Patricia Ann Paich - August 07, 1929 - March 12, 2022

Obituary Preview: Patricia Ann (Mason) Paich, 92, formerly of Kennerdell, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Orchard Manor.
Pat was born on August 7, 1929 in Kennerdell, PA, the youngest of 11 children.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Paul Paich who she was married to for almost 68 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Edwin Mason and Lavenia (Dora) Rivers Mason, as well as her siblings Clarence Mason II, Lavenia "Neen" Sines, Sarah "Sally" Thomas, Jessie Eckes, Elsie Keeler, Marian "Mamie" Baughman, Rose Midage, Paul Mason, Clyde Mason, and Elmer "Scott" Mason.
Pat is survived by sons David Paul and wife Sue (Kagle) of Cranberry, PA; Robert Mark and wife Roseanne (Augustine) of Kennerdell, PA; and James Douglas and wife Tina (Middleton) of Kennerdell, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Heather Paich, Laura Shema and husband Michael, their children Hailey and twins Aiden and Caleb, Jodi Paich-Kohlstrom and son Kaj, Bob Paich, Mark Paich and partner Elizabeth Diaz, Chris Paich, Bethany Brown and husband Damon and their daughter Leyla. Patricia is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat grew up in Kennerdell, living next to the Kennerdell Church of God, of which she was a lifelong member. She played the organ and piano there, as well as sang in the choir. She was also the Treasurer for many years and she would always bake a delicious apple pie for the auditors; because of this the audits became much more frequent.
Pat’s love of music started at home where the family’s entertainment was often singing in harmony or quick-wit and one-liners amongst the siblings.
She attended school in a one-room schoolhouse across the road from where she lived, and later attended and graduated from Rockland High School where she was valedictorian. After graduation, Pat married Paul Paich in 1948 after meeting at a local dance. While they were courting, they shared time taking long walks in the hills of Kennerdell and enjoying nature. Pat always wanted to see what was over the next hill.
Pat and her husband shared many interests including hunting and music. She enjoyed playing the piano as well as the hammer dulcimers that Paul handcrafted from wood. They traveled to many hammer dulcimer festivals where they made new friends and enjoyed jam sessions until late in the night.
She had a long career with the US Postal Service and she was Postmaster of the Kennerdell Post Office for many years.
One of the greatest joys of her life was her family. She always created elaborate games and activities for the grandkids at family gatherings. Pat was an accomplished seamstress and she took great pleasure in sewing much of the clothing for her family.
A celebration of life for Pat’s family and friends will be held at the Kennerdell Church of God, 151 Watson Ave, Kennerdell PA 16374,  on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00am.

Mary Usoff - April 26, 1936 - March 11, 2022

Mary was born April 26, 1936 in Bullion, she was the daughter of the late Glen R. and Pauline Paden Sr.
Mary graduated from Franklin High School.  She started working for Joy Manufacturing Company in 1954 as an Engineering Standards Veri typist.  Later she worked as a Engineering Standards Analyst and Veri typist.
Mary served on Joy Employees Fund Committee and was involved in Office Employees Local 352 Union.  She attended several classes such as blue print reading, electrical AC and DC, metallurgy, book keeping and algebra that were offered at Joy.
Mary married Paul W. Usoff on October 15, 1993 who preceded her in death on July 13, 2013.
Mary liked to travel, cook and enjoyed her nephews and nieces.  Mary and her husband always had a large garden and loved to can and freeze items from their garden.
Mary is survived sister in laws Carol S. Paden and Dorothy Paden, step children Debbie Green and her husband Dale, Paul W. Usoff Jr and his wife Barbara, Patty Green and her husband Richard and several nephews and nieces including Ronald and Kathy Paden of Polk, and their children.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother Paul D. Paden, Glen Paden Sr., sister Florence Schaub and her husband Darrell.
Burial will take place Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Hickory Grove Cemetery.  The Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home in Clintonville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ronald "Ron" Dennis - June 20, 1952 - March 03, 2022

Ron was born June 20, 1952 in Garfield Heights, Ohio. He was the son of Guy and Dona Ackinclose Dennis.
Ron was married to Denise Billock on July 4, 2012.
Ron graduated from Franklin High School and went right to work. Ron was very hardworking and took pride in never taking any handouts. Starting his working career at General Motors Terex plant in Ohio, he then worked for Erie Lackawanna Railroad for a short period. He proudly owned and operated Dennis Transport, Dennis Mobile Home Park in Clarion and Leisure Time Park in Polk. Ron was a familiar face when it came to moving or transporting mobile homes in the local area. After retirement from driving, Ron continued to work daily at his mobile home parks. Him and his wife Denise loved to spend their Sunday’s going to flea markets. He brought home lots of “treasures” for his family to enjoy. He treasured his antique green (the color of money) Corvette. Ron was a Jack Daniel Enthusiast, he collected and was recognized as owner of a real estate parcel of Jack Daniels Distillery in Tennessee for many years. He loved his family dog Axle. When Ron was around his personality filled the room! He was a jokester and made many memories with his family by always keeping them on their toes with things up his sleeve. His sense of humor and huge smile will be missed by his family.
Loved ones to cherish his memory is his mother Dona, wife Denise, his children, grandchildren and sisters.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Guy Dennis and his previous wife Kathy.

Obituary Preview: Patsy L. Crissman, 74, of Clintonville passed away peacefully, March 1, 2022 at Allegheny General Hospital.
Patsy was born February 1, 1948 in Union City.  She was daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Gwin.
Patsy graduated from Oil City High School.  Later in life she received a degree in Computer Programming.   She was employed at the Moore Bus Garage in Kennerdell, driving school bus earlier in life and more recently worked for the Oil City and Titusville Railroad as a greeter.  She was always up to help out at the railway any way she could.  People looked forward to purchasing her hand made blankets.  She loved to be planting flowers and working in her vegetable garden.   Patsy homemade crocheted items will be forever cherished by her family.  She looked forward to traveling to the beach and to Hawaii to visit her sister.  She was always up for an afternoon out with her friends Rose and Marsha to go to grange and for lunch and visiting with her friend Sue Kaylor.  Patsy loved her family, making meals and cooking while they were together brought her much joy.   Her and her daughters never passed up a yard sale or flee market while out for a ride in the car.
Loved ones to cherish Patsy memory are her daughter; Angie Crissman of Clintonville, Maggie Bish and her husband Danny of Sligo and Charles “Criss” Crissman III of Brookville.  Her grandchildren Kassie Crissman and her fiancée Cameren Smith of Kennerdell, Sara Kunselman of Oak Ridge and Alec Shreffler of Sligo.  Patsy’s sisters Sally Deeter, Carol Mulford, Mary Brown and Abagail (Cindy) Gwin; her brothers Jim Watson and his wife Mary and John Gwin.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, and went to met her sister Betty Squire at the beach in heaven, and her daughter’s father all preceded her in death.
Patsy's family will welcome friends and family Friday, March 4, 2022; 3:00-5:00 p.m., at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA.    Funeral services will be private. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, one of two things, you may send funds to the funeral home to help with funeral cost or buy your own mother flowers.   Patsy’s family will forever cherish the time and memory’s they shared with her and hope you will cherish that time with your mom!

George L. Rea - February 09, 1937 - February 27, 2022

Obituary Preview: George Rea, 85, of Clintonville passed peacefully at home, February 27, 2022.
George was born February 9, 1937 in Argentine, Butler County.  He was the son of the late Herman and Florence Rea.
George proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a US Marine.
George was married to Bonny “Kay Rea.  After Kay’s passing, he married Evelyn Rea, she proceeded him in death also.
George was a very hard worker.  He started out in 1960 building the car wash and laundromat in Clintonville and also built a warehouse behind it for Lance Candy Company.  He built cabinets out of his workshop for the local area for many years.  He built the trailer park in Clintonville as well.  He owned and operated Rea Excavating for numerous years.  He opened graves in the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery and 9 other surrounding cemeteries in the area.  George retired from Hickman Lumber where he installed the log landings for the trucks.  He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville.  Other memberships George enjoyed where the VFW in Cherry Valley, American Legion and the 521 Parker Allegheny Canby Lodge.
George was surrounded by numerous great friends that filled his days.  Bill McKinley would come to George’s and always share a bowl of ice cream and some bible scripture together.  George always looked forward to Dick Burk coming to take him to haircuts and some back road rides.  Every Saturday Bob Hovis brought George a fresh fry pie for them to enjoy while telling lies.   Earle McKinley kept George in good spirts with story telling and cold Busch beers.  George’s family treasured each of these relationships and where very thankful for them.  George’s quick wit and one liners like, How are you today George, his response always being “meaner than hell”  will be dearly missed.  George loved to be hunting with his family when his health permitted and never passed up a chance  to go out for supper.
George is survived by his son Gerry Rea and his wife Lynn of Harrisville, his step children Jim Stolter and Jennifer Keyser both of North Carolina.  His son is law Romeo Chiu and his wife Desiree of Clintonville.  His grandchildren Grant Rea and his wife Lacie, Brayden Rea and his wife Kaitlyn, Noelle Malliard and her husband Eric, Abbi Rodriguez and her husband Kyle, Christopher Chiu, Ryan Chiu, Lorraine Chiu and John Keyser.  George’s great grandchildren Gavin and Ryleigh Rea, Kaiden Rea and one on the way in Realynn Malliard where cherished by George.
George was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Kay and Evelyn, his daughter Gayle Rea and Gina Chiu, his twin sister Gloria Daugherty and her husband Bill, and sister Louise Wassum and her husband Lloyd and a step son in law Don Keyser.
Family will welcome friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8.  Funeral services will take place Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark Frailey officiating from the Union Presbyterian Church.  George’s friend Bill McKinley will be assisting with reading some scripture him and George shared together.   Burial will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery. William "Bill" Stemmerich - December 16, 1952 - February 21, 2022

Obituary Preview: William Stemmerich Jr., 69, of Clintonville went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2022 at Butler Hospital.
Bill was born December 16, 1952 in Pittsburgh.  He was the son of the late William Stemmerich Sr and Ethel McKnight Stemmerich.
Bill graduated from Slippery Rock High School.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served  his country.  Bill met the love of his life, Sue McBride in 1977.  The couple was married in 1997 and would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in July.
Bill retired from Davis Archway in Emlenton as a driver.  Music played a large role in Bill’s life.  He loved to play his guitar in his two bands, Barn Storm and Black Water and with his brother Russ.  Bill’s Dachshunds, Chloe, Chelsey, Lula and Maggie brought him great joy.  He even had a favorite cat, Joey.  When Bill’s health permitted, he spent many summer days on the golf course.   He loved a good ghost story.  He had recently had been going ghost hunting with a group of his friends.  He explored many local sites with his ghost hunting equipment.   Him and Sue looked forward to Bible Study with each other also.
Loved ones to cherish his memory is his soulmate and wife Sue Stemmerich from Clintonville; his sister Roberta “Lyn” Miller and his brothers Russell Stemmerich and his wife Marty and Lawrence “Larry” Stemmerich and his wife Colleen.  Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews on both sides of Bill’s family also survive.
Bill was welcomed into heaven by his parents, his brother David Stemmerich, his in laws Nelson “Red” McBride and Mary Fawn McBride, sister in laws Linda Danaca and Carol Peters.

Obituary Preview: Sherwell D. “Pete” Christie, 83, of Parker, passed away peacefully, on February 18, 2022, at home.
Pete was born December 22, 1938, in Hilliards, he was the son of the late Howard K and Devona Stevens Christie.
Pete met the love of his life, Theresa F. Larson, in Long Beach California while he was stationed there in the Navy, proudly serving his country. The couple married on January 17, 1957 and together had three children Steve, Robin, and Rita. Theresa passed away August 20, 2020 and Pete missed her dearly.
Pete was self-employed and drove Tri-Axle in the local area hauling coal. After retiring Pete drove for Hunter’s in Eau Claire, moving trucks from store to store. He enjoyed driving and the friendships he made over the years with his fellow drivers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury. He was a lifelong member of the Snowmobile Club in Ridgeville. Pete and Theresa loved to travel, especially to Florida to fish. Pete cherished his family. He looked forward to his house being filled full of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Loved ones to cherish his memory are his daughters, Robin A. Christie of Eau Claire and Rita J. Covert, and her husband John of Boyers. His grandchildren are Dan J. Staab Jr., Kristy Stewart, and her husband Chris, Justin Covert, and his wife Juliana and Kayla Covert. His great-grandchildren Alexandra Stewart, Beau Stewart, Briele Covert, and Noah Rowland. His brothers and sisters Dixie Jackson and husband Don, Richard Christie and his wife Carol, Howard Christie and his wife Judy, Lana Toth and her husband Bruce and Jody Campbell and her husband Pete.
Pete was welcomed into heaven by his parents, his loving wife Theresa, his son Steven S. Christie, his nephew Jeffrey A. Christie and his niece Darla Christie Reese. Obituary Preview: Albert “Al” Burda, 74, of Clintonville passed away on February 18, 2022 at home. Al was born February 20, 1947 in Frackville PA. He was son of the late Aloysius and Nellie Burda. Al graduated from Orchard Lake High School in Michigan. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was involved in the TET Offensive in 1968. Al retired from Slippery Rock High School as a custodian. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and especially fish. He was a member of Trout’s Unlimited. Al was a caring and loving man who loved his family dearly. He cherished the time they spent together. Al was an animal lover and loved his hobby farm. He was a classic car and jeep enthusiast. His faith in the Lord was very evident in his life, being an active member of the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Franklin for numerous years. Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife Ruth of Clintonville, his children Danny Woodard and his companion Kasey Snyder of Butler, Nichole Woodard and her companion Alie Batchelor of New York and Andrew Burda of Clintonville. His sisters Marguerite Wolfgang and her husband James and Dorothy Breinich. 8 grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews also survive. Vivian G. Martin - December 24, 1931 - February 06, 2022

Obituary Preview: Vivian G. Martin has gone to meet her Lord and Savior with her loving family around her.  Vivian passed away February 6, 2022 at Grove City Medical Center.
Vivian was born at home on the family farm December 24, 1931, Irwin Township, Venango County, PA., a daughter of the late Charles Raymond Smith and the late Clare Elizabeth (Sopher) Smith.
Vivian attended one room Eakin Elementary School in Irwin Township,  graduated from the former Wesley High School, and graduated the following year from Grove City High School to complete four years of secondary education.
Prior to her marriage she was employed by the Joy Manufacturing Company located in Franklin, PA.
Vivian married the love of her life, E. Paul Martin, on May 22, 1952, at the Amity Presbyterian Church with family friend and relative Reverend Doctor Clyde Detrich officiating.  Before Vivian was old enough to attend school, she went to visit school with her sister when she first saw Paul.  They recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.  He survives at home.
Other survivors are three daughters: Lorraine Garner of Kennerdell, Dr. Karen Martin of Grove City, and Susan Stallard and her husband Brad of Grove City.  Grandchildren Tanya McFadden and husband Cory and their children Cole, Alexis and McKenzie of Kennerdell; James Garner of Boyers; Elizabeth Knaff and husband Andrew and their daughter Rio Everleigh of Grove City; Chelsey Blake and her husband Andrew and their son Colt of Stoneboro; Collin Moreton and wife Jackie and their children Brooke and Phillip of Curwensville, PA; Bradford (Bear) Stallard of Indiana, Pa; and Sarah Stallard of Grove City.  Also surviving is brother Earl Smith and wife Pearl of Grove City, sister-in-law Betty Donaldson of Mercer, three nieces, six nephews, many cousins, and a host of friends.
Together Vivian and her husband Paul raised Angus beef cattle on their farm and raised Jack Russel Terrier dogs.
Vivian was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She will be forever remembered and forever missed.  Vivian was devoted to her family and raising her children and managing the farm household.
She was a faithful, active, life member of Amity Presbyterian Church, serving for 26 years as an active Elder, 21 of those years as their Clerk of Session.  She was the pianist for Worship and Sunday School as well as the children’s choir.  She also taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and participated in all the many church activities.
Vivian was an accomplished seamstress.  She was a 4-H leader for 40 years and received the Venango County Outstanding Leadership Award in 1998.  She also enjoyed crocheting and oil painting as well as researching the history of families, churches, and the local community, spending many hours in the Historical Society and the Venango County Court House, as well as neighboring Court Houses in Pennsylvania.  She was very civic minded and never missed voting in an election for 63 years.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, loving sisters Faye J. Smith and Betty Hinds, brother-in-law Walter Hinds and an infant baby sister.
Visitation will be held at the Amity Presbyterian Church, 4605 Scrubgrass Road, Grove City, PA 16127 on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. with funeral services starting at 1:00 p.m.   The Reverend Willard Morse will be officiating the service.  Burial will take place at Old Log Cemetery. Naomi was born September 21, 1929 in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.  She was the daughter of the late Ernest Danner Plank and Mary Bishop Plank.    She was married to Wilbur Beasley Cheeks, he preceded her in death in 2013.  Together the couple lived the Pearl Pa after their retirement in their log cabin they built together.
Naomi enjoyed all types of craftwork and liked doing crossword puzzles.  She had a ready smile and was liked by everyone that she met.
Loved ones to cherish her memory are her two sons; Wilbur (Cork) Cheeks (Ron Gehrlein) of Cleveland Ohio and Karl Dean Cheeks (Sharon Cheeks) of Butler PA.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 10 siblings.

Obituary Preview: Kathy Savage, 64, of Kennerdell passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, January 25, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Kathy was born in Butler on October 27, 1957 to Clarence and Lucy Weaver Stewart.
Kathy graduated from Moniteau High School.  She married the love of her life, Robert Savage on October 24, 1975.  The couple was married for 32 years prior to his passing on February 25, 2008.
Kathy was employed at OPM as a legal administer specialist.  Kathy loved to be working in her yard. She always had a project going from her flowers on her deck to her flower beds in the yard.  She was very crafty and made items her family will treasure.   Kathy’s focus was her family.  She loved to be a part of her grandchildren lives and activities.  She rarely missed a dance recital of Bella’s and baseball game of the boys , Dylan and Ryker.  She and her sisters met once a month for lunch to celebrate that month’s birthdays and she treasured that time with her siblings.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory is her son Heath Savage of Kennerdell and her daughter Amanda McElhinney and her husband Devon of Grove City.  Her beloved grandchildren Dylan McElhinney and Ryker McElhinney of Grove City and Bella Savage of Slippery Rock.  Her brothers Clarence “Gene” Stewart and wife Deb of West Sunbury, Larry Stewart and his wife Donna of Grove City, David “Davey” Stewart and his wife Shawna of Eau Claire; her sisters Lois Altman and her husband Dick of Petrolia, Patricia “Patty” Altman and husband Dave of Eau Claire, Thelma Campbell of Emlenton and Emily Stewart of Clintonville.  Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Richard "Rick" Coast Jr. - December 26, 1957 - January 19, 2022

Obituary Preview: Richard Martin Coast, Jr. “Rick,” 64, of Barkeyville, PA (Irwin Township), passed away at home, with his wife by his side, on January 19, 2022, after a lengthy battle with health issues. Rick fought like crazy to be here for his wife and sons, but he is at peace and without pain now.
Rick was born December 26, 1957, in Grove City, PA, to Richard and Sylvia Coast. He was a 1975 graduate of Franklin Area High School.
He completed a four-year apprenticeship with United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America in 1981 and was a union carpenter from 1977 to 1985, including working at the Bruce Mansfield Power Plant in Shippingport, PA. He attended Slippery Rock University and Youngstown State University and owned and operated Coast Construction Company from 1980 to 1993. In 1993, he started in general maintenance with George Junior Republic (GJR) in Grove City before becoming a Security Systems Technician in the IT Department until his retirement due to disability in 2011.
Rick leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Barbara L. McElhattan Caldwell Coast. Rick and Barb enjoyed many activities together, from building their house from the ground up to owning and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. Rick was a former member of A.B.A.T.E. and Free MC, and he enjoyed his life membership with the NRA.
He and Barb dedicated many years volunteering with the Boy Scouts, with Rick serving as Scoutmaster with Wesley Troop #127 while their sons were troop members. They enjoyed taking the scouts hiking, camping, and canoeing.
Rick actively participated in local government, serving at times as the Irwin Township representative with the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department and as the elected Inspector of Elections for Irwin Township.
Rick was an avid reader throughout the years, inspiring his young siblings to also love reading. He enjoyed helping his family and friends with their DIY projects and was a jack-of-all-trades not only with carpentry but with anything that involved tinkering.
In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by a son, Martin D. Coast, at home; a stepson, Rodney Caldwell and step-grandchildren Kim, Daniel, and James Caldwell of Charlotte, North Carolina; his mother, Sylvia Russell Coast of Franklin; his siblings: Julie Coast Miller, Barkeyville; Dr. Douglas A. Coast and wife Mary Catherine Dugan Coast, Pittsburgh; Darren L. Coast and wife Shelly Johnson Coast, Franklin; Jennifer M. Coast and Mark Gonzales, Austin, TX; and Janice C. Newell and husband Tom, Telluride, CO; and sisters-in-law Carla McElhattan Cochran and husband Gary, and Mary McElhattan Parson and husband Gary, both of Oil City, PA, and their children and grandchildren. Rick is also survived by nieces and nephews: Will McBride and fiancée Jammie Greene and her children Hannah and Kaylee Greene (Barkeyville); Cody McBride (Barkeyville); T.K. Newell and wife Kate, and their daughter Coraline (Telluride, CO); Caitlin Coast and husband Peter Kirschenbaum, and their daughter Charlotte Skye (Chatham, NJ); Brittany Newell and husband Aaron Pena (Mountain Village, CO); Nicole Coast Crawford and husband Seth Crawford, and their daughters Adella and Madelyn (Franklin); Monica Coast (Pittsburgh); Zachary Coast and wife Brandi, and their daughter Briella
(Franklin); Dan Coast (Pittsburgh); Dylan Newell (Denver, CO); and Sarah Newell (Dallas, TX); and numerous cousins around the globe.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tyler J. Coast, who died Sept. 7, 2020; his father, Richard M. Coast, Sr.; a brother, Russell G. Coast; his grandparents: Albert and Petronilla Broschart Russell, Mart Coast, and Ethel Coast Martin; uncles and aunts: Donald and Mary June Coast, Leona Martin Rodemoyer Knight, and Kenneth A. Russell; brothers-in-law Todd D. Miller, Ray McElhattan, and Stan McElhattan; a sister-in-law, Margo McElhattan; and his wife’s parents, Carl and Marjorie McElhattan.

Gary was born December 11, 1956 in Grove City. He was the son of A. Neil McFadden and Nola Whitehill McFadden Chase.
Gary graduated from AC Valley High School. He proudly served his country during Vietnam. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in October of 1980.
Gary retired from Clarion University of Pennsylvania as a boiler technician. He loved be out in the woods either hunting or fishing. His family and spending time together was treasured by Gary. He loved to ride his Harley when his heath permitted.
Gary is survived by his mother Nola Chase of Harrisville, his son Eric McFadden of Oil City, his grandsons Ethan McFadden (USAF) of Pensacola and Travis McFadden of Oil City. His sister Margie Minnicks and her husband Charlie and brother Andy Whitling and his wife Amy.

Tracy was born December 8, 1967 in Clarion.  He was the son of Charles A. Rhoads and Sandra Simpson Rhoads.
Tracy graduated from AC-Valley High School.   He was married to Mindy Hartle on September 9, 1997, she survives.
Tracy was a self-employed truck driver, having his truck leased to Ron Gross Inc.  Prior to running his truck, he was employed for Tom Hovis at Hovis Truck Service in Emlenton.    Tracy also worked for Advantage Tank Lines in Seneca.
Tracy loved to be busy.  If you drove by the house, he was always outside working on a project either for himself or helping out someone else.  He was the first to jump in when others needed anything.  He was a true mechanic.  He worked on anything that had a motor.  He loved to take joy rides in his Volkswagen Bug or his mustang.  He rarely missed watching a NASCAR race.  Tracy loved to be with his family as well.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory is his wife Mindy, his father Charles Rhoads of Emlenton, his daughter Kayla Shay of Florida, his beloved grandson Payton Shay of Florida.  His brothers Tony Rhoads and his wife Christie of Texas and Terry Rhoads and his fiancée Theresa Forrest of Shippenville.

Lynn was born March 16, 1944 in Grove City to George Earl Baker and Olive E. Witherup Baker.
Lynn graduated from Allegheny Clarion Valley School.  He married Sandra Kay “Sis” Cooper on June 26, 1964, the couple celebrated 57 years of marriage.  Sis survives.
Lynn was a member of the Rankin Chapel Church.   Lynn started working for Quaker State as a pipe fitter and retired from Petro Wax after Quaker State was sold.
Lynn was the director of the Butler Dog Training Association in Butler.  Anyone who knew Lynn knew how much he loved his dogs!  Jesse his last dog him and Sis had was dearly missed when he passed.  Lynn took great pride on how well he trained and took care of his beloved Springer Spaniels and Irish Setters, the breed they loved so much.  Lynn was a life member of the NRA as well.  Lynn received many trophies earlier in life, racing his motorcycles.  Lynn was an avid outdoors man.  He was member of the Allegheny Canoe Club, loved to hunt deer, turkey and grouse.  He and his wife Sis built a camp in Renovo where they spent many weekends together.  He loved to fish as well.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory is his wife Sis, his brother in laws James Cooper of Butler, Tom Cooper of Parker and Dave Cooper and his wife Terrie of Grove City, and his sister-in-law Patty Mervin of Kittanning.

She was born on December 10, 1937, to Clair McFadden and Grace (Norris) McFadden, in Irwin Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.
She married Jack Roddy on September 10, 1955, and they made their home in Nectarine.  The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
June always put others first her entire life, caring for so many of her relatives.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds, doing Word Search Puzzles, and reading her Bible.  She was a devout Christian, and her faith was very strong.  She attended the Barkeyville Church of God.   Family was everything to her – she loved us all and we loved her back.  She constantly sent cards and phoned friends and family all over the USA, this was her special gift, and it was a blessing to so many people.
She is survived by her husband Jack;  son Don and daughter-in-law Sharon of Clintonville; her daughter Pam Roddy Pollock and son-in-law Steve of Slippery Rock;  her grandson Bradyn Roddy and his wife Leah of Simpsonville, South Carolina; her granddaughter Autumn Pollock Kellogg and her husband Derek Kellogg of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania; and her grandson Dan Pollock of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.  She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Caleb, Natalie, and Max Roddy and Mackenna, Althea, Declan, and Ophelia Kellogg.
June was welcomed into heaven her parents, her son Jack Roddy and a granddaughter Jennifer Roddy, her sister Eva Yard and brother in law George and  her brothers Joseph McFadden and Charles Cramer.

Harold R. Goughler - January 02, 1934 - January 03, 2022

Obituary Preview: Harold Ronald Goughler, 88 of Emlenton passed away at home on January 3, 2022 after a short illness.
Harold was born January 2, 1934 (1-2-34) in Richland Township, he was the only son of the late George Ronald and Lydia Eliza Reedy Goughler. Harold enjoyed the uniqueness of this birthday numbers delighting to telling others about them.
Harold attended Rockland Public School. He was married to the late Averil (Avvie) Marie Roxberry on February 18, 1956 at Peter’s Chapel United Methodist Church; she preceded him in death 14 years ago.
Harold learned about trees from his father and worked for 12 years for the Asplundh Tree Company. He then worked the overnight shift with the Cooper Bessemer Steel Company retiring from there in February, 1999, after 36 years of service. He continued to enjoy felling trees to heat his home, and could drop one with pin-point accuracy.
Harold and Avvie bowled on leagues together for many years, and he also enjoyed hunting his entire life and had his deer license ready to use this season. Their home was an annual starting and resting point on the first day of buck season for friends and family members.
Survived by his children Connie Lynn Goughler Both and her husband, William (Bill) of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Larry Eugene Goughler and his partner Sharon Anderson (and stepson, Kaleb Cope) of Shippenville. His grandchildren William J. (BJ) Both (Rachel), Rachel Williams (Bryan) of Intercession City, Florida, Jessica Both of Richmond, Virginia, Isaac Both (Amber), Jeremiah Both, Luke Both (Gillian), and Leah Both of Fredericksburg, Virginia. His great grandchildren Carmelo, Chauncy, and Kyro Williams, Alastair Both, and Lily Both.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory is his wife Wendy of Emlenton, his children Olivia Stohon of Clarksville, Alison Burk (Colt) of Franklin and James Lee Jr. of Glen Campbell.  Mike’s sister Sharon Mack of Waynesburg and a brother George Stohon Jr. of TN.  His grandchildren Micah and Gianna Burk both of Franklin.  His mother-in-law Nancy Smith of Emlenton also survives. His beloved dog, Boomer also survives.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Tristan Hopkins.

Obituary Preview: Tobias Frazier, 26, of Polk passed away December 20, 2021 as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Tobias was born September 27, 1995 in Butler to Anna Eisele and Tracy Frazier.
He graduated from Kittanning High School and Lenape Trade School for HVAC.  He was currently employed at RenovEX in Barkeyville.  He was a manager for second shift and worked numerous positions within the company, mostly painting tanks and loading tanks.
Tobias enjoyed dirt bike riding.  He loved to race his RC Cars.  He always enjoyed riding his BMX bikes. Tobias loved to go camping and hiking in the woods. He was also in love with helping others and was a hero to many. He loved to show how big his heart was for everyone without hesitation.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his mother’s Anna and Tracy.  Brothers; Joseph Pospychala, Randy Hepler, and Colt Bell.  His sisters; Alisha Fisher and Ashley Fisher.  Nieces and nephews Jazmin, Brendin, Kadin, Skylin, Elizabeth.   Tobias’s Uncles Walter and William Eisele and his grandmother Betty Jane Kline also survive. Prayers are needed for this family without a doubt. Everything is appreciated.
Preceded in death by grandpa Walter K. Eisele and his Great grandparents Walter and Anna Eisele.
A celebration of Tobias’s life will take place, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 2-4 at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA.   The memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Hughes officiating the service.
