Obituary Preview: Thomas E. Butcher, 70, of Austintown, passed away Thursday morning, November 30th at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born October 26, 1953 in Painesville, OH, a son of William and Florence (Smith) Butcher.
Tom was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson High School. He worked as a track inspector for the CSX railroad for 40 years, retiring in 2013.
He married the former Debbie J. Hammond on October 10, 1987. They shared 36 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She survives him.
To was a member of the Lake Milton Fat Man's Club. He enjoyed listening to music, gardening, and working in his yard. Tom's greatest joy was his family. He loved spending time with them and having parties and gatherings.
Besides his wife, Tom is survived by two stepsons; Steven (Dawnyel) Karash, of Greenford, and David Karash, of Canfield. He also leaves behind six siblings; William (Laura) Butcher, Peggy Libby, Ruth (Harold) Blakemore, Connie Wheeler, Dana (Paul) Reilly, and Randy (Leanne) Butcher; three grandchildren; Emily Butcher, Hope Karash, and Nevets Karash; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael Butcher, a brother Robert Butcher, and a sister, Barbara Butcher.
Private memorial services will be held for the family.

Janet Rae Garland - September 24, 1937 - November 28, 2023

Obituary Preview: Janet R. Garland, 86, passed away on Tuesday November 28th, 2023 at St. Elizabeths in Boardman. She was born September 24th, 1937 in Mineral Ridge, Ohio and was the daughter of Olin and Vivian (Lewis) Heitman. She grew up in Mineral Ridge where she graduated high school in 1955 and was baptized in Mineral Ridge Church of Christ. As for Janets career, she started as a secretary for National Gypsum and Ohio Edison and would later work at Hallmark in the Southern Park Mall for 17 years.
In Janets early years, she would meet the man who would become not only her high school sweetheart but the love of her life, Kay E. Garland. Janet and Kay were married on June 15th, 1957, which she considered to be “the happiest day of her life.” They built a home in Mineral Ridge and lived there until 1972 when they would move to Canfield and spend 52 years together, building a life, raising 3 children and making beautiful memories. Janet and Kay were a team and they did everything together up until his passing on September 18th, 2009.
Janet had many passions throughout her life, such as crafting and teaching ceramics, selling Avon, being a Girl Scout troop leader and homeroom mother, bowling in a league, crossword puzzles, sending and writing letters along with greeting cards, listening to country music and growing flowers. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and thoroughly enjoyed watching any basketball game on TV. Above all things, the most important to her, was spending time with her family.
To carry on her memory and love, Janet leaves behind her children, Amy (James) Mamonis Sr., daughter-in-law June Musolino and Robert (Jeanette) Garland; a sister, Shirley Cunningham; six grandchildren, Todd (Emma) Garland, Jessica (John Williams) Garland, Hillary (Derek) Smith, James (Jenna) Mamonis Jr., Joseph Mamonis, and Linley (Miguel Quinones) Mamonis; and 7 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kelsey, Kayden, Evangeline, Angelo, Joseph Jr., and Mia (with one on the way.) Janet was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, and a son, Bruce Garland.
A private memorial will be held and a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Kenneth A. Purnell - October 26, 1940 - November 28, 2023

Obituary Preview: Kenneth A. Purnell, 83 of Lordstown, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, November 28th, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
He was born October 26, 1940 in Grier City, PA, the son of Roland A. and Martha M. Volasky Purnell.
Ken was a 1958 graduate of Newton Falls High School. He then attended Kent State University where he achieved a Bachelor of Education degree. He worked as a History teacher in the Bristol school district for several years. He then went on to work as a security officer for General Motors Lordstown for 27 years, retiring in 1993. After his retirement Ken worked as the locker room manager for The Trumbull Country Club in Warren from 1994-2007.
He married the former Karen S. Platt on May 28, 1966. They shared 57 years of marriage and many wonderful memories together. She survives him.
Ken was a longtime member of the Lordstown Christian Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the original council when Lordstown was declared a village, and he served as a member of the Lordstown Board of Education for eight years. In addition Ken served his community as an assistant basketball coach, he was a former volunteer with the Lordstown Fire Department, and a former member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed playing darts and horseshoes at the VFW in Newton Falls, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren, especially attending all of their sporting events and cheering them on.
Besides his wife, Ken is survived by four children; Roland (Shawna) Purnell, of Austintown, Pamela (Michael) Fultz, of North Jackson, Penny (David) Durig, of Lordstown, and Patricia Purnell, of Lordstown. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren; Megan, Emily, Julia, David Jr., Dillon, Alyssa, Mary, Lindsey, and Evan; and two great-grandsons; Kolston and Krimson.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, Dec. 5th at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, with the Rev. Norman Witthuhn officiating.
Friends may call 5 - 7 PM Monday, Dec. 4th at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest in the Lordstown Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Surrounded by his loving family, Robert (Bob) L. Morgan, 96, died peacefully on November 26, 2023.
Son of the late Edward and Helen Morgan; Bob was also pre-deceased by a brother Edward, of Columbus, Ohio. He was extremely fortunate to marry twice – to the late Elizabeth (Brown) Morgan, with whom he had two sons, Lawrence (Barb) and Jonathan (Barb Etchells). Bob later married Monteen (Pollock) Morgan, with whom he had three stepchildren: Deborah Bengala, Jim and Tim Evans. He was blessed to also have eight grandchildren: Jennifer Allanson (Joe), Beth Bengala, James Bengala (Kristina), Robert Etchells, Tim Etchells, Kevin Etchells, Felicia Kutchel (Dan) and Michael Morgan. In addition to seven great-grandchildren: Abigail and Gwen Kutchel; Lyndsey, Lauren and Ashley Allanson; Julian Bengala, and
Kodah Etchells.
They say that friends are the family we choose for ourselves… and Bob had so many friends that were like family to him, including three special friends: Terri Book, Paula Pugh and the Reverend Burl Jernigan. Bob was proud of his career, previously working for Youngstown Sheet & Tube, U.S. Steel and he later retired from Wean United after 40 years of service as a mechanical draftsman.
In his retirement, Bob and Monteen loved to spend time floating on their pontoon boat at Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. While he loved his Ohio State Buckeyes; he was a graduate of Austintown Fitch, and attended Kent State University and Youngstown State University. Bob and Monteen were big YSU football fans; enjoying
tailgates and cheering the team on for years as season ticket holders. A veteran of World War II, Bob served in the Army Signal Corps in 1945 and 1946 and was honorably discharged. Bob’s faith was an important part of his life, and he was a former member – and active participant in the
choir – of Calvary Baptist Church of Boardman, Ohio for 40 years; and more recently attended First Baptist Church of Girard.
The holidays were an extremely special time for Bob, as he always welcomed friends and family for a Christmas Eve open house following church services. Everyone looked forward to his famous homemade nut kolache and even more famous Bloody Mary bar. His family and friends will carry on his traditions this year, and always.
A celebration of his beautiful, long life will be held on Friday, December 8th at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Girard, 7 E. Kline Street, Girard, Ohio 44420. Family and friends may call from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church prior to the service.

Ronald C. Wilson - April 15, 1942 - November 23, 2023

Obituary Preview: Ronald C. Wilson, 81, of Austintown, passed away Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23rd, at the Assumption Village Nursing Center in North Lima after an extended illness.
He was born April 15, 1942 in Youngstown, the son of Charles and Nan (Coalmer) Wilson.
Ron was a 1960 graduate of Poland Seminary High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy, being honorably discharged in 1963. After his military service Ron went to work as a truck driver for the Coca Cola Company beginning in 1968. He worked for more than 35 years, retiring in 2003.
He married the former Joanne B. Drabik on April 23, 1966. They shared 57 years of marriage and a lifetime of wonderful, happy memories. Together they had a son, Michael Paul, to whom they were extremely devoted. He preceded his father in death March 11, 2006.
Ron was a longtime member of the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Austintown for many years where he served as a Deacon. He was very active and involved in his church and served in any way he could. He enjoyed golfing, taking walks, and his family vacations to Myrtle Beach and Clearwater, FL.
Besides his wife, Ron is survived by a sister, Joanne Grate, of North Lima. He also leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law, Rose Marie (Ronald) Stevens, of Chesterland, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Besides his son, Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 28th, at the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 2432 S. Raccoon Rd., Austintown, with the Rev. Brian Carpenter and Ron's former Pastor and dear friend, Rev. Rick Stauffer, officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to services from 10 - 11 AM Tuesday at the church.
He will be laid to rest next to his beloved son, Michael, in the Green Haven Cemetery, Canfield.

Howard was born March 28, 1928 in Youngstown, a son of the late Irving and Ida (Youngen) Crum and was a lifelong area resident. Howard worked as a mechanic and later a supervisor for Ohio Edison for 42 years,until he retired in 1991. Howard was a person who did not like to sit still.He enjoyed music in the park on Tuesdays, playing cards, lottery scratch tickets, and he always had a dog on his lap or by his side. He liked to keep busy working on cars in his garage, always keeping his truck clean and waxed, building projects and fixing things that needed to be repaired. He loved his family dearly, and enjoyed spending time, visiting, having dinner with them, and he never missed dessert! His wife, the former Louise Williams, whom he married November 13, 1948, died on August 31, 1991. He leaves his son, Howard L. Crum of Youngstown; a daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Ventresco of Austintown, with whom he lived with for the past year. two granddaughters, Jennifer ( Ryan) Rager, Sara Ventresco and two great-grandchildren, Daphne and Oliver, whom he always shared his chocolate with. Besides his parents, and his wife, Howard was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Neff and Edith Blackburn. Curtis E Barbour - July 18, 1928 - November 13, 2023

Obituary Preview: Curtis E. Barbour, 95 of Youngstown, Ohio, left this earth peacefully surrounded by his loving family members on November 13, 2023. Curt was born in Clymer, Pennsylvania on July 18, 1928. He was the son of Wendell and Nellie Motter Barbour, moving to New Castle, Pennsylvania in 1944. Curt joined the U.S. Army in 1946-1949 serving as a Military Ordinance Officer in the Philippines and in Okinawa, Japan. After his service in the military, Curt took a job at the Youngstown Sheet Tube/LTV Steel, where he was a maintenance foreman/electrician in the Coke Plant. In 1953 Curt met his sweetheart Helen Kardas, marrying her June 18, 1954. They resided on the west side of Youngstown where they raised their 2 children, John and Karen. Curt and Helen had been married for 63 years. Helen passed away on September 3, 2017.
Curt retired from the mill after 34 years' service. After retiring, Curt continued working at Stambaugh Thompson Hardware Store, Rudick Construction Group, Lowe's, and Millcreek Golf Course (his favorite job). Curt's greatest joy was spending time and talking on the phone with his family.
At the age of 58, Curt started running, joining the Youngstown Road Runners Club. He ran in several Youngstown Peace Races and participated in the Cleveland Revco Marathon. After his running days ended, he took up bike riding, riding through Millcreek Park or on the Metro Parks Bike Trail. During his later years, Curt enjoyed painting pictures, putting together jigsaw puzzles and building Lego models.
Curt was a faithful member of Highway Tabernacle, Austintown, Ohio, where he served as an usher, attended weekly Bible Study, and volunteered at Meridian Place sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the residents.
He will be forever remembered and sadly missed by his family; his children, John (Cindy) Barbour, Newark, Ohio, and Karen (Marty) Nypaver, Austintown, six grandchildren, Michael (Casey) Barbour, Jonathan (Allie) Barbour, Eric (Alex) Barbour, Kristen (David) Fodor, Amy (Corey) Pabst, and Matthew Nypaver, and 13 great grandchildren, Blake, Audrey, Evan, Liam, Vincent, Ronan, Carly, Annie, Chloe, Helena, Louie, Camille, and Jude, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Florence Barbour, Sheldon Barbour, Wayne Barbour, Evelyn Siggelo, Ruth Barbour, and Geneva Johnson.
Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock am, on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Highway Tabernacle, Austintown, Ohio.
Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service at Highway Tabernacle. In memory of Curtis Barbour, the family encourages donations to The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, 1300 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Youngstown, Ohio 44510 or the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44510.

She was born July 1, 1944 to David and Goldie (Pifer) Best of Youngstown. After graduating from South High School, she went on to marry her husband David Etto, March 9th, 1966, whom she spent 53 years with before his passing in 2019. She pursued a career in the accounting field for over 25 years before retiring.
Carol had many passions, such as gardening, yard work, painting, scrapbooking, and baking. However, her most important passion was being a loving and wonderful mother and nana.
Carol leaves behind to honor and cherish her memory; her daughter Becki Stelluto, her son Brandon (Missy) Etto, her siblings; Ruth Clever, Don Best, and Dave (Kim) Best. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren, Adria Stelluto and Dane Etto. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband. The family is honoring her wishes and there will be no funeral services or memorial service. He was born the son of Clara (Weitzman) Colla and Samuel Colla in the city of Youngstown, Ohio on July 23rd,1947. He was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1965 and worked as the dairy manager at Fisher Fazio’s for many years. Paul eventually went on to work at the family business, Collas Market. Paul really enjoyed playing lottery games, going to the casino, and bowling. He was a hardworking man who always made time for his 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Ford, brother John (Mary) Colla, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Samuel and Ronald Colla, and his parents Clara and Samuel. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Obituary Preview: Arthur W. Weaver North Jackson, Ohio Art Weaver passed away on Wednesday November 1, 2023 in his own home on his farm surrounded by family. Art was born on June 25, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph B. Weaver and Jessie (Henry) Weaver McKinley.
Art graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1961. He attended Youngstown State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree. Art was a Foreman with Delphi Packard Electric until his retirement in 1998. Art was an active member of the North Jackson community serving on the Zoning Board for many years. He was a member of the Mahoning County Farm Bureau serving on the Board of Trustees. Many of his childhood lifelong friends raised their families alongside Art in North Jackson.
His true passion in life was farming. From an early age, living on Turner Road, Art had a love for animals. He was an active member of 4H, showing horses and livestock at the Canfield Fair. He continued his passion for horses as a member of the Buckeye Trail Riders. On the farm, Art shared not only his love of hard work and farming, but his quiet guidance to many who needed a mentor or a friend. George Washington said, “I would rather be on my farm, than be emperor of the world,” this is also true of Art. Whether he was raising livestock, planting crops, fixing fences or tinkering with a tractor, his farm was his home.
Art was an active member of Austintown Community Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon and an Elder. Growing up in the church, he was part of the Youth Group and Sunday School Classes. He was proud to be a part of 4 generations of the Weaver family to serve at the Colonial Inn at the Canfield Fair. He found great joy in this rich tradition of family and friends working together every summer. He served as a member of the Preschool Board passionately advocating for children and families. Papa Art was a well loved leader during Vacation Bible School. Art loved his church family and inspired many to continue to walk humbly with the Lord.
Art enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to vacation with his extended family and spend time in his camper. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his grandchildren whether it was a sporting event, concert, recital or school event, they knew Papa was their biggest fan.
To cherish his memory, Art leaves his wife of 37 years, June Weaver, whom he married on November 29, 1986. He leaves his 3 children; Brian (Amy) Weaver of Eaton, Ohio, Michele Corll of Austintown, and Jenifer (Mike) Pemberton of North Jackson. He also leaves his grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Jordan and Jason Corll of Austintown, Garland Weaver of Eaton and Elizabeth Pemberton of North Jackson. Art is also survived by his brother-in-law, Dr. James Wilhide, sister-in-law, Joanie (David) Dawson and many nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Joan Wilhide, his brother, Joseph Weaver, his sister-in-law, Loralee Weaver, brother-in-law, William Clupper, his foster sister Jay Fiehler, and his first wife, Bonnie Weaver.
The family requests tributes take the form of donations to the Austintown Community Church Memorial Fund in his memory. A celebration of Art's life and legacy will be held Friday November 10 at 11:00 am at Austintown Community Church, family and friends may call from 5-8 Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and from 10-11 am Friday at the church prior to services.

Anna Marie Vujcec - August 29, 1937 - November 01, 2023

Obituary Preview: Anna Marie (Cerimele) Vujcec, 86, a longtime resident of Austintown, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, November 1, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Proud of her Italian heritage, she was born to Emidio and Alice (Sebastian) Cerimele on August 29, 1937 in
Youngstown, Ohio, and was a 1955 graduate of East High School. Anna Marie and her husband, John Vujcec Sr., were married February 7, 1959 at Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown and became charter members of St. Joseph Church in Austintown in the 1960’s. She believed in God and
drew much strength, particularly in her later years, from personal prayers. She enjoyed cooking Italian dinners with homemade spaghetti sauce that she and her husband canned each year from
tomatoes grown in his garden. She also enjoyed cake decorating and special parties with family and friends. These ranged from pizza parties, “sibling dinners,” and most of all the Cerimele family reunions that were held for 50 years and attended annually by
close to 100. Devoted to her family, Anna Marie took pride in keeping a clean, organized home and her dish towel and handheld
label maker were never far from reach. While her children were growing, Anna Marie worked as a bank teller and as a school cafeteria substitute with Austintown Local Schools. She also assisted with tribute dinners at St. Joseph Church and was a longtime kitchen
coordinator at BodyWorks Fitness Center, where she made many cherished friends. Surviving her are three daughters, Lynne (Mike) Mullins of Boardman, Carol (Rick) Bueno of North Canton, and Donna (Dan) Cornelius of Canton, and a son John Vujcec Jr. (Cyndi Chiaro) of Cincinnati along with seven
grandchildren whom she adored Tim, Steven and Eric Bueno, Elise and Elena Cornelius, and Evan and Aidan Vujcec.
She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends, including her sister-in-law Judy Cerimele of Youngstown. Besides her husband, who died May 31, 2008, she was preceded in death by her parents as well as her beloved siblings and their spouses Ersilia (John) Conte, Rita (Frank) Galletta, Eugene (Nancy) Cerimele, Larry (Dolores)
Cerimele and Emil Cerimele. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the nurses and other staff of Aventura at Humility House and, most recently, AustinWoods and SouthernCare Hospice Services for their care, compassion and kindness. They are truly “Angels on Earth.” A special thank you to nurse manager Jason McNees as well as former chaplain and Administrator
Neil Appell.

Maureen, affectionately known as “Mo” was loved by her roommates and everyone that participated in her care. She could be feisty but was also sweet. Fred was born on November 22, 1925, in Struthers, Ohio to Welsh immigrants, Annie Russell and WWI veteran of the British Army Motorcycle Dispatch Riders, Fred Lester. He grew up on a farm in Poland, Ohio, and graduated from Poland High School in 1943. Fred enlisted in the United States Army, in the Korean War.
He married the younger sister of his sister’s husband in 1955, and settled in Austintown, where they raised their two children.
Fred worked at Republic Steel as a crane operator, Kinray Manufacturing Company as a shipping clerk, and finally at Mahoning County Sanitary District as a Chemical Operator, eventually moving up to Assistant Chemist. He retired in 1990, after 32 years.
Fred leaves behind his daughter, Diana (Richard) Bell, his son Fred “Bill” Lester (KJ Shannon); his grandchildren Richard (Wei Ma) Bell, and Erin (Michael) Ward; great grandchildren Brennan and Addison Ward; his brother-in-law Jim (Elaine) Garts; nieces Marla Garts, Monika (Frank) Krieder and Sue Zak.
Fred was a wonderful, thoughtful, quiet man with a dry sense of humor and a helpful generous nature. He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Lane Funeral Home Austintown chapel, from 10am-11am. A memorial service will take place immediately following visitation, at 11am.

Rick had a passion for tinkering and loved spending time outdoors. He was proud of his Italian heritage, loved to cook, enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. His resourcefulness and love for the outdoors brought him great joy throughout his life.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Sharon Camelli of Newton Falls Ohio; two daughters, Barbara Smith of Youngstown, Ohio, and Sherri (Tyler) Wright of Chesapeake Virginia; three sons, John Zenn of Struthers, Ohio, Richard Jr (Kim) Camelli of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Brian (Angie) Camelli of Niles, Ohio; his brother Gino Camelli of Howland, Ohio, and his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and Robert, and sister Geraldine. He valued the time spent with his family and leaves behind cherished memories with each of them.
An informal post-cremation memorial service will be held to commemorate Rick's life, surrounded by close friends and family. Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Lane Austintown Chapel, Austintown, Ohio.

Pat was a master plumber, member of the Local 1229 Summit County Engineers and owner of Ohio Backflow Service. For the past 8 years, he served as the plumbing inspector for Summit County. He learned the trade from a young age, working with his mother’s family at Crogan Plumbing. He later founded Timlin Plumbing with his brothers Martin and Michael. Throughout his career, Pat was known for his wealth of knowledge and expertise in the plumbing industry. Friends and family frequently turned to him whenever they needed anything.
Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Karen (Bizzarri) Timlin. He was the best, most loving and supportive father to his two sons, Owen (Kathryn) Timlin of Solon, and Neal Timlin of Youngstown. His two granddaughters, Josephine and Amelia, were his pride and joy. Pat is also survived by his siblings Thomas (Diana) Timlin of Glendale, Arizona, Kate Timlin-Weily (Bob) of Youngstown, Mike (Fran) Timlin of Poland, Maureen (Vito) Donofrio of Youngstown, and sister-in-law Nancy (Brian) Alleman-Bizzarri, along with many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends whom he loved dearly. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, two of his sisters, Mary Beth Timlin and Brigid Timlin, brother, Martin Timlin, and his mother and father-in-law, Anthony and Mary Bizzarri.
Pat attended St. Christine's Primary School and later graduated from Ursuline High School in the Class of 1975.
Pat was a lifelong member of St. Christine's parish. He found peace and drew inspiration from his connection to nature.
Pat enjoyed many hobbies such as music, spending time in nature, and golfing. He found solace in biking and hiking through the beautiful parks of Northeast Ohio, his favorite of all being Millcreek Park.

Obituary Preview: Christopher M Stoner, 52, passed away on Oct 9, 2023, after undergoing hospice and respirate care at the Country Club of Newton Falls Nursing Home. Christopher was born Sept.16,1971 in Youngstown, a son of Anthony and JoAnne (Laney) Stoner. After graduating in 1990 from Boardman High School, he then earned a BAS in Market Management at Youngstown State University. Christopher enjoyed working in Market Management for St Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown and giving back to his community.  He enjoyed nature and often visited Cook Forest and Hocking Hills State Parks as well as the Allegheny Forest.  He had an amazing sense of humor and a great love of music, spending many years of his life as an avid drummer playing at local establishments. He was a very loving and devoted husband and father. His love, compassion, and understanding for others will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Peter Stoner, and just recently his loving wife, Linette. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful daughter Lehsten Laney Stoner, his sister Lisa (Donald) LaTessa, his loving niece Kristin LaTessa, his mother-in-law Linda Heap, his sisters-in-law Laura (David) Miller and Lisa (Chris) Rakocy and nieces and nephews Andrew Miller, Lindsey Miller, and Stephen Rakocy. Lou led a very full and active life. He was into competitive diving, sailing, road trips, inline and ice hockey, kayaking, recumbent bike riding, camping, pickleball and playing gin rummy.
He served on the board of the condo association; volunteered his time with fraternal organizations, always making a difference, and attended many classmate dinners.
He served his country in the Vietnam War, and on his way to Vietnam the plane drifted into Russian airspace. He and his fellow passengers were guests of the Russians; were released and continued to Vietnam.
His career spanned many years in the heat treat industry as a field service engineer, which led to travel in many countries: China, Brazil, Korea, Russia and throughout the United States.
Lou was very loved and cherished by many. He will truly be missed.

He was loved by all who knew him. To John, family was everything, and he loved and supported his wife, Sheri, and his children, Haley and Sean, with all of his heart. He was present for everything his children did, and he was so proud of the people they have become. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John Isaac Lengyel, Jr., of North Jackson, passed away on October 6, 2023 at the age of 58. He was the son of John I. Lengyel, Sr. and Marjorie (McClafferty) Grimm.
John was a special education teacher and track coach in the Akron City School district. He loved his job and excelled at it. His patience and kindness in the classroom and in all aspects of his life made him a beloved member of his school community, his home community, and his family.
John adored his nieces and nephews. He was their support, confidant, and friend, and he would do anything for them. They all loved him deeply, and they cherished their time with him.
John was an active member of the Jackson-Milton Sports Club, and he enjoyed many mornings on the greens of the Duck Creek Golf Course. He loved music and singing, and throughout his life, he was active in many choirs. Even when going about his daily life, he was singing. When he wasn’t singing, he was playing soccer. He played from age 13 until approximately age 50. John was an avid gamer and developed many friendships through Fortnite. He also loved photography. He was often seen at Jackson-Milton High School sporting events taking pictures. The students and staff could always count on him helping them document each event. John also spent time photographing weddings and helping students with their senior pictures. He loved capturing the joyful, exciting events in people’s lives.
John was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, class of 1983. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and went on to earn a Master’s degree from The University of Akron.
John was preceded in death by his father, John I. Lengyel, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sheri (Williams) Lengyel, his children, Haley Lengyel (Dominic Bucci) and Sean Lengyel (Kaelyn Puhalla), his mother, Marjorie (Richard) Grimm, his brother, Michael (Dana) Lengyel, and his sisters, Bridget (Robert) Schinker and Mary Beth (John) Chaffin. His extended family, who he adored, included Sue and Frank Prozy, Jennifer and Jim Goodlin, Jodi and Jeff O’Donnell, Anna and Brandon Legg, Missy and Chuck Crago, Mandy Williams, Sandy and Pat Keney. Carol was a homemaker for many years, as well as an administrative assistant and executive secretary at EPI and Meridian Arms, from where she retired.
Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was member of the St. James Altar and Rosary Society, now known as Our Lady of the Lakes Women’s Guild, and a member of St. James Church in North Jackson for 64 years.
Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 67 years, Eugene; her nine children, Lucy (Satoshi) Nagai, Christine Yarab, Pamela Garland, John (Sharon) Yarab, Timothy (Connie) Yarab, Carl (Luanne) Yarab, Jeffrey (Tonia) Yarab, Valerie (Joe) Cannavo and Paul Yarab; her 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her siblings, Lucille McDougal and James Davis.
