Yvonne Broussard Cole - February 28, 1941 - May 19, 2024

Departed: 05/19/2024 (Thibodaux)
Obituary Preview: Yvonne Broussard Cole, born on February 28, 1941, a native of Abbeville, and a resident of Thibodaux, passed away peacefully at her home on May 19, 2024, at the age of 83.
Small in stature but giant in spirit, Yvonne shared her zest for life with everyone she met. Whether it be at a family holiday celebration she had painstakingly orchestrated, during a friendly game of bridge, or while lying ill in a hospital bed, Yvonne had a special gift for making every person in her presence feel valued and loved. Always an educator at heart, Yvonne enjoyed sharing her flair for grammar with students and family alike, but the lessons she taught extended far beyond the classroom. Her final lesson, perhaps the most profound, was the dignity, strength, and grace with which she embraced her impending passing.
Yvonne had four sons- each one perfect in her eyes. She had four daughters-in-law whom she loved as her own affectionately referring to them as her “Charlie’s Angels.” But it was the presence of any one of her grandchildren that always brought a smile to her face, even in her waning days. Yvonne cherished visits with her sisters and their children. She and “the crazy sisters” would stay up well into the morning hours playing card games, reminiscing, and laughing boisterously. Lisa, one of her nieces, described Yvonne thus: “She is the perfect blend of class, sass, strength, and grace.” Indeed! Yvonne was in her early fifties when she met Robert Cole, a good man who brought so much joy and fulfillment into her life. They married and travelled the world together. In her final days she confidently proclaimed, “Bob is waiting for me in heaven.” Amen!
Yvonne is survived by her four sons: James Vance Broussard (Dee Dee), Karl “Bubby” M. Broussard (Elise), Guy S. Broussard (Lisa), and Joel N. Broussard; her seven grandchildren: Tyler S. Broussard (Olivia), Lauren Broussard, Adele Broussard Pizzolato (Jesse), Andre S. Broussard, Adrienne E. Broussard, Caroline Broussard Sehon (Robert), and Olivia R. Broussard; and two great-grandchildren: Adeline A. Broussard and Vivian L. Broussard. Yvonne is also survived by her three sisters: Dorothy Aube Trahan, Eva Hebert Landry, and Ella Hebert Koury.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cole, and her parents, Savy Hebert and Adele Frederick Hebert.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her loving housekeeper Pam Ordoyne and each of her caregivers as well as to the physicians, nurses and staff with Thibodaux Regional Health System and Haydel Memorial Hospice.
Visitation at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.

There, they were often spotted on the water by friends and family, fishing in a wooden boat Mike had built.
Mike was known for his quiet and reserved disposition, reflective and contemplative. He was a precious soul, known for his depth, wisdom, authenticity, and integrity.  Mike was a perfectionist in all things and was loved and admired by all who knew him.  Most important to him was his wife of over 52 years, Becky, his four children, Angelle Hebert (Richie), Marisa Roper (Justin), Lindy Lindenmayer (Brian), and Dr. Michael F. Michael V. Braud - October 15, 1967 - February 17, 2024

Departed: 02/17/2024 (Thibodaux)
Obituary Preview: Michael V. Braud, 56, a native and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana passed away on February 17, 2024.
He is survived by his lifelong friend Simonne Stine; sister, Susan Thibodaux (Brett); nieces, Jamaya Owens, Missy Owens, and Cassie Creameans; nephew, Rodney McKee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jolene Braud; son Cody "Motion" Gaudet; sister Debbie Blanchard; brothers Henry Paul Braud II, Louis Paul Braud Jr; niece Andrea Braud.
Michael (or Mikie) was a truly genuine person who, above all else, treasured his bond with the ones he loved. He never met a stranger. Some of his fondest memories were of family summer getaways at the camp in Grand Isle, his affinity for music and his impeccable drum set that he enjoyed playing fervently. He was revered and respected by his colleagues, such as Chris Henderson, during his lengthy career as a Deckineer for Olivia Rose Towing. His soul was always at peace whilst on the open waters. He confronted his illness with the utmost courage and bravery. The Grace of God, coupled with his inherent strong willed nature allowed him to face this battle head on with complete dignity, and did it "his way", until he humbly accepted the wings his Maker adorned him with which allowed him to soar Home to be reunited with his son, Cody and all of his loved ones who had preceded him and were awaiting his beautiful soul, quick whitted humor and his irresistible smirk.
The family wishes to thank the Stine family, his caregivers Sherry Lirette and Christopher "Boodini" Guillot and his nurses from Journey Hospice, Lacey Lirette, Colette Fick, and Brittney Adams for their compassion and care.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
