Matthew A. Daigneault - July 30, 1968 - December 24, 2023

Departed: 12/24/2023 (Rockville)
Obituary Preview: Matthew A. Daigneault
Matthew, 55, breathed his last on December 24, 2023, surrounded by family and friends in Manchester Hospital, Manchester, CT.
“Matthew” means “Gift of God.” In some small way, then, it is fitting that this gentle soul should meet Jesus face-to-face on Christmas Eve. Matthew was a handsome man with piercing blue eyes. He loved his family, his friends, the New England Patriots, and his dog, “Baby.” He knew what was important in life; that people mattered most, and he had a way of making them feel seen and heard. He was fiercely loyal to those whom he loved, and to his mother, in particular. He was direct, soft spoken, and kind. Above all, his most defining characteristic was his caring heart. Unfortunately, this meant that emotional traumas took a more impactful toll on him than on most, and he had endured more than his share during his too-short life.
Matthew leaves behind his mother Irene Daigneault; his father Mederic Daigneault; his sisters Kimberly Baker, and Tamijo Daigneault; his brothers, Mederic, and Jeffrey Daigneault; his long-time love Kim Monaco; James and Alan Taylor, whom he esteemed as his own sons; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and many good friends, none closer than Scott Lambert, whom he loved like a brother. Matthew was predeceased by Cassidy Wofford, whom he cherished like his own daughter, and Jamie Daigneault, his younger brother, with whom he was especially close. He left an indelible mark on all our souls.
