Vicente “Negro” Nieves, 78, of Holyoke, MA passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center.
Vicente or “Negro” as family and friends called him, was born September 6, 1943, a son of the late Thomas Nieves & Luz Maria (Rivera) in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  He was brought to Hartford, Ct at an early age and lived there for many years. During retirement he moved to Prosper of Monastery Heights Assisted Living, where he met Beatrice his last companion. Negro was also nicknamed “Vinnie” by the staff and residents at the retirement home. SAMUEL FELICIANO - March 11, 1981 - February 18, 2022

Departed: 02/18/2022 (Holyoke)
Obituary Preview: IN MEMORY OF SAMUEL FELICIANO 1981 - 2022 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved family member, Samuel Feliciano. Although he is now gone, we will respect and also address him as Daniel Parissi Feliciano since he was in the process of changing his name. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and a positive attitude and all who were blessed to know him, mourn his passing.  He touched the lives of so many people, young and old.  Samme was born on March 11,1981 and leaves behind his daughter, Zariah Feliciano, father Jose D.Feliciano, brothers Jose F. Feliciano, Jose "Jojo" Feliciano, sister-in-law Sheileen Feliciano and four nephews, Jason, Justin, Jadrien, and Jomar Feliciano as well as brother Antonio Morales, and sister Ines Morales and many wonderful friends who became his family, specifically Thomasina, Peter, and Juan!
Samme was full of energy, humor, kindness and creativity.  He earned an Associates degree in ECE and worked for Trinity College Community Child Care for over eight years.  He was passionate about teaching and adored the children he worked with.  His creativity helped educate many children who were fortunate to have Mr. Sam as their teacher.
He was always upbeat and enjoyed spending time with his daughter, his brothers and sister and their families.  Samme was the life of the party.
His practical jokes made us all laugh once our anger subsided.  He was excited by spontaneous beach trips, spending time with loved ones and his cat family. He wanted nothing more but to bring a smile and laughter to those he loved and even just met.
His loving nature will leave a lasting legacy to all who met him.  We lost someone special who always created magic when he was around whether he was alone with you, in a small crowd or large party, but this legacy of his loving, magical nature will be remembered by all who knew him. He had a passion to live his life to the fullest, which is exactly what he did. Holidays brought him so much joy, not because he was excited to get gifts and love from other but rather ecstatic to see the joy and happiness his love and gifts brought to those he loved. He would always give as much as he could to raise one spirit. Which is why this is not going to be looked at as a funeral or a goodbye, rather it is a celebration of him passing onto the other side. He loved parties and being the center of attention, so I know he is thrilled that the spotlight is all his at the moment. We shall send him our wishes and positivity to aid him in his process of obtaining peace and reaching his next destination. He will live on through us and please send him love anytime he crosses your mind because that means he is near and his spirit is sending you love and comfort. May his short life be remembered as one filled with pure joy when we spend time with family, share a drink with a close friend, or bump into an acquaintance, and in Samme’s honor, let us raise a glass in his honor.  Shot! Shot! Shot!

Obituary Preview: EN LA MEMORIA DE JUAN NUNEZ 1937 - 2022
