Lois Irene was born June 6th, 1933, in Cowden, IL, the youngest of 7 children to Arthur and Annis Tucker. She married John Hayward in 1950 and they later divorced. She then married William (Bill) Denton in 1975. After his death in 1997, she married Don Shipp in 2008.
She was a lifelong cook owning two restaurants in Cowden: The Fireside restaurant and Granny’s Cafe. She was a member of Ulman Christian Church in Ulman, MO.
Lois is survived by her daughter Kathy (Tom) Mills of St. Elmo, IL. Her grandchildren: Darin Mills of St. Elmo, IL, Deanna (Henry) Heiser of Wedowee, AL, Amy (Keith) Garrison of Brownstown, IL, and Chuck Dilley of Mt. Zion, IL. Her great-grandchildren: Akina (Gavin) McCain, Wade (Lacie) Heiser, Alexis Heiser, Khail Heiser, Trey (Mason) Culver, Laura (Austin) Holcomb, Jacob Bright, Aubrie Dilley, and Carter Dilley. Her great-great-grandchildren: Ramsey Heiser and Helana Heiser. Her stepdaughters: Donna Foster and Sandra Denton. Obituary Preview: Bud was born November 12, 1934 at home in Avena Township, Fayette County, Illinois the third of six children into the Christian family of Teddy J. and Elsie Jane (Hissong) Myers. Bud attended St. Elmo High School. Bud married Ruby June McVicker on April 6, 1957 at the Immanuel Lutheran Parsonage by the Rev. John Meyer. He then began his life quest of managing and raising a family of four children along side with his wife. Bud was retired however he was employed as a Road Commission for Avena Township. He was also employed for Diller Tile for 22 years and Feller Oil Company both of St. Elmo until 1995.
Bud loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren beyond measure. He also enjoyed breakfast every morning at the coffee shop with his friends, mushroom hunting and fishing. Noah wed Ruby Irene Morris on August 14, 1954 at the Fayette County Court House, Vandalia, Illinois. He was employed by the Norge Corporation which became Fedders USA in Effingham. In April of 1999 Noah retired after 46 ½ of employment. Noah also worked for the Richardson Brother’s Greenhouse for many years during times of layoff from Norge/Fedders.
Noah loved to hunt, and worked on automobiles in his younger years, and was a lifelong “yard warrior”. After retirement, he took up woodworking and played with the Prairieland Pickers and The Singing Strings music groups. He was especially fond of playing at the local nursing homes each Thursday. Noah was a life-long and faithful member of the First Church of God in St. Elmo. Mary was a housewife and a mother, and was employed outside the home in various office positions as the need arose, retiring from Archer Daniels Midland Company of Decatur, Illinois after a 20 year tender on September 31, 1989.
