Obituary Preview: Danny Roger Ellis, 79, of Bruno, formerly of Newark, OH, departed this life on May 5, 2024, at Trinity Healthcare of Logan, after a long illness.
He was born August 21, 1944, at Bruno, a son of the late Harmon and Dementia Ellis.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Janice Ellis; four sisters, Opal Blankenship, Shirley Gill, Barbra Newman, and Sandra Bailey; thirteen brothers, Kadger, Charles, Buddy, Levon, Donzil, Zenith, Ronald, Darrell, Harmon Jr., Ricky, Jack, Michael Ellis; and John Steven.
Danny was of the Baptist faith. He served his country with honor as a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated over 40 years of his life to Owens Corning in Newark, OH, where he eventually retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
When he was able, Danny found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer, finding solace and camaraderie on the green. He was also a passionate sports enthusiast, cheering on his favorite teams with enthusiasm. Above all, Danny treasured moments spent with his loved ones, especially at family reunions, where laughter and love filled the air.
Those left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Larry Ellis of New Mexico, Harold and his wife Lynn Ellis of Accoville; three sisters, Wanda and her husband Larry Sites of Petersburg, Kay and her husband Michael Roberts of Chapmanville, and Sharon Hatfield of Greenvalley; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man.
Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday with the Rev. Bill Cantrell, and Rev. Roger Frye officiating.
In honor of Danny's service the Wyoming County Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites at the funeral home following the service.
In honor of Danny's wishes, his remains will be cremated following the services.

David was born December 30, 1951, in Logan Co. WV, the son of the late William Bernard Corns and Mercedes Faye Bailey Corns. He was a graduate of Man High School, class of 1969.
He was a member of Claypool United Methodist Church in Davin, WV. His life’s work was as a coal miner for more than 25 years. He was a member of the UMWA. He spent an additional 12 years employed as a mechanic for Brushy Mountain Golf Course in NC. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always made time for his family and friends.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include: his wife, Glenna Laxton Corns; his daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Jean Timmons (Ben) of Auburn Twp, OH; his sons, David Michael “Bruiser” Corns (Ann) of Huntington, William Joseph “Joey” Corns (Amanda) of Man, James Stephen Martin (Donna) of Conover, NC, Larry Eugene Martin ( Heather) of Jonesville, NC; his sister, Angel Dawn Bodnar (David) of Sissonville, his brothers, Clyde Leonard Corns II (Cathy) of Winfield, Gary Lee Corns (Wendy) of Logan, Timothy Everette Corns (Jackie) of Davin, Orval Lee Davis of Davin; a total of 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends survive.
David was preceded in death by his loving sister, Jennifer Starr Corns Davis and his baby brother, Gregory Ray Corns.

Obituary Preview: In loving memory of Ott "Spot" Toler, 67, of Bruno, who took his heavenly flight on Sunday, April 28, 2024, enveloped by the warmth of his home after a brief illness, and was embraced by the loving arms of Jesus.
Born on October 15, 1956, in Man, Ott was the cherished son of the late Ott and Ruby Toler, Sr., of Verner. He was also held dear as the son-in-law of the late Vaughn and Peggy Browning of Bruno.
Ott, affectionately known as "Spot" to those who knew him best, found immense joy in the company of his beloved wife, Mary L. Toler, and his treasured daughter, Brittney Toler. His devotion to them knew no bounds, as he poured his whole heart into their lives.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Linda, Saundra, and Pat Toler, as well as his brother Kenny Toler.
In addition to his wife and daughter, Ott is survived by cherished memories and the enduring love of his family and friends. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Edy and Tim Martin, Andrea and Larry Copley, and Georgie Browning, a host of nieces and nephews, his sisters Frances and Kathy Toler and Jean Simpson, and one brother, Clarence Toler.
"Spot" lived a life grounded in faith, belonging to the Pentecostal community. He found fulfillment in his work as a retired coal miner and Mac Coal Truck Driver, roles that brought him great satisfaction and purpose. A loyal supporter of the Dallas Cowboys Football Team, Ott's passion for the sport was unwavering. He also found solace and contentment in the simplicity of the outdoors, finding peace while tending to his garden.
As Ott begins his eternal rest, may his memory continue to bring comfort and solace to those who were touched by his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. His legacy will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Memorial Service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, at Bruno Church of God, with Rev. Roger Frye officiating.
In honor of Spot’s wishes, his remains have been cremated.

Sherry Ruth Frye, 69, from Lorado, passed peacefully from this earth on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. Our Lord and Savior took her into His loving arms to begin her heavenly life.
Sherry loved and cherished her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Betty “Tootsie” Acord; siblings, Larry Acord, Debbie Bellomy, and Terry Acord; and nephew, “Little Sam” Bellomy; and son-in-law, Michael Mann.
Compassionate and caring, Sherry was a nurse at the former Man Appalachian Regional Hospital where her joy was caring for others. It was there that she met Freddy, with whom she shared almost 32 years of marriage and an enduring devotion through sickness and in health. Sherry was a long-standing member of Bethel Tabernacle Church in Lorado, having served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher over the years. Fellowship with her Church family and attending services were two things she held dear to her heart.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Freddy Frye; children, Connie Mann of Lorado, Stephanie (Chris) Justice of Davin, Denita Walker of Louisville, KY, and Alaina Frye of Campbell, OH; grandchildren, Nick Clay of Newport News, VA, Chris (Jordan) Justice of Morgantown, Alison Justice of Winfield, Alexa Walker of Edmonton, KY, and Anna Walker of Louisville, KY; a great-grandson, Briar Justice; and her cherished sister-in-law, Trudy Acord of Winfield; along with many other relatives and friends, all of whom will never forget the love and warmth she brought to their lives. Sherry will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Bethel Tabernacle at Lorado and one hour prior to services on Sunday.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel Tabernacle with Rev. Pat Kinser officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Wayne County.

She was born July 19, 1947 in Pike County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James Preston Damron and Lottie May (Sanders) Damron of Taplin, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Daniel “Danny” Woods.
Sharon was a graduate of Man High School; a 1969 graduate of Marshall University Teacher’s College and later went on to earn a master’s degree in Business Education from Marshall University in August 1972. Sharon returned home, teaching for over 30 years at Man High School, where she taught classes in accounting, bookkeeping, typing, and other business-related courses. She met the love of her life Danny, and they married in 1972 in Grundy, Virginia. Danny became a federal coal mine inspector and retired as an education training specialist from the U.S. Department of Labor. Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, educator, and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are her one son, Brad Woods and his wife Jaime (Bucy) Woods of Manhattan, Kansas, along with a host of friends.
A Graveside Services will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Highland Memory Gardens with Brother Sheldon Wells officiating.

Obituary Preview: Nancy Lee (Grimmett) Harvey, 90, of Bruno, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 13, 1933, at Sandlick (Bruno), she was the daughter of the late Roy and Brida Effie (Smith) Grimmett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Harvey of 58 years; one grand-daughter, Heather Lea Fazzan-Bartram and her son Alex Bartram; three brothers Rev. Robert Grimmett, Leslie “Ed” Grimmett, and Rev. Roy L. Grimmett; two sisters, Nevada Walker and Bertha L. Mullins; son-in-law, Raymond Ulrich; brothers-in-law, Ralph Walker and Avery Mullins; sister-in-law, Judy Grimmett-Wright.
Nancy was a very kind and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was of the Freewill Baptist Faith, and faithfully attended the Gilman Bottom FWB Church and supported the local churches with her son at the Greenbranch FWB Church. She was a great worker for the Lord with her time, talent, and money.
Nancy gave her life to the Lord in 1965, and she never once considered quitting on the Lord. The Church is where she met her life-long friend and sister in Christ, Ms. Stella Gray, who continued her support with cards and prayers and phone calls. Her prayers are to see everyone give their lives to the Lord, and meet her in Heaven.
The song “I Don’t Regret A Mile – That I Traveled For The Lord” was not only the most requested song she sang, it is truly her testimony. To know her is to know the true meaning of Love, Family, and a Godly Woman. When you visited her, she would not only cook a meal, but she would shower you with gifts. She loved everybody.
Those left to cherish her memory daily are her six children, Ervin Lee (Cheryl) Harvey and Edwina (Norman) Daniels, both of Ripley, WV; Annette Ulrich of Bruno; Guy (Rozetta) Harvey of Port Richey, FL; Regina (Robert) Payne of Man; and Nathan (Peggy) Harvey of Verner; ten grandchildren; Dianah Shorter, Wes Harvey, Matt Harvey, Joel Harvey, Shawn Potter, Slater Ulrich, Joshua Robert Harvey, Samantha Adkins, Justin Daniels, and Stuart Daniels; seventeen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren; special niece, Shirley Toler, and her daughter Vicky Neal, and special nephews Jim and Rick Grimmett, and Larry Mullins, and his son Mike and grandson, Evan; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to her QVC shopping friends Carl and Phil Crowder; her special doctor – Dr. Radha; and to Dignity Hospice Service, and to all those that sent food, and offered help and prayers.
A celebration of Nancy L. (Grimmett) Harvey’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Sandlick FWB Church at Bruno with the Rev. Mike Mullins and Rev. Gary “Mike” Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby, where she will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons.

Obituary Preview: Tasha Marie Bartam Farmer, 43, of Henderson, NC, formerly of Greenville, WV, departed this life suddenly on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Marie Parham Hospital in Henderson, NC.
She was born on May 5, 1980, in Man, the daughter of Clinton and Melissa Ann (Belcher) Bartram.
Preceding her in death are maternal grandparents, Donald Gene and Mary Helen (Callaway) Belcher; paternal grandparents, Claude and Lorene (Workman) Bartram; her sister Tiffany Dawn Bartram; two cousins, Jennifer Leigh Sanders and Little Donnie Belcher whom she thought of as a brother.
Tasha was fun-spirited, could talk to anyone, and never met a stranger. Her favorite thing to do was spend time at the lake, enjoying the calmness of the water. Family was important to her, so she always kept in touch by calling and having long conversations. A true kid at heart, she loved all different types of candy. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her parents and a cherished aunt, Donna Sue Sanders, who was like a second mother to her. Also mourning her passing are her sister Tracy and her husband, Daniel Vannatter of Greenville. Tasha held a special bond with her niece, whom she affectionately referred to as “the baby,” Alissa, and her husband Anthony Payne of Bruno. Additionally, she leaves behind a beloved cousin, Mary Belcher, along with Mary’s children, Raeanne, Jazzy, and Dakota. Among her cherished loved ones are also her “North Carolina babies,” Leland Sanders, Gabrielle Sanders, and Emilio Martinez, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a vast circle of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man, a brief Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Cecil Bartram officiating.
In honor of Tasha’s wishes, her remains will be cremated following the services.

She was born on August 16, 1937, at Greenville, the daughter of the late Ray and Edna (Ellis) Anderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edgar Shull; and her siblings, Barbara Anderson, Danny Joe Anderson, Helen Bailey, Judy Schneider, Edna Maye Blankenship, Vernon Glenn Anderson, Charles Ray Anderson, and Patty Olson.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse employed with Man Community Health Foundation for many years.
She was a devoted Christian who was a member of the Hunt Freewill Tabernacle for most of her life. In her later years, she became a faithful member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church until her health declined.
Shirley was an avid bowler who enjoyed league bowling where her league won many awards. She and her sister Bobbi walked together for exercise when weather permitted. Before her illness, she loved to eat anything and everything and never gained a pound. Shirley will be deeply missed by all who love her.

She was born on January 14, 1939, in Accoville, WV, the daughter of the now deceased William “Bill” and Sadie (Simpkins) Harrison; her husband, Bobby Lee Browning who passed away on July 8, 2023; one stillborn brother, Randy Harrrison; and three brothers, Ronald Harrison, Donald Harrison, and Charles Harrison.
Janice retired from Dukane Manufacturing Company after over 25 years of service. She was a strong member of the Bethel Baptist Church when she attended there and currently at the Valley View Baptist Church, both in St. Charles, IL. Janice’s passion was walking for exercise with friends. A friendly person, Janice never met a stranger, making friends where ever she went. She enjoyed cooking and baking and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina and her husband Mario Tafoya of Plainfield, IL; her son, Timmy and his wife Jeanette Browning of Aurora, IL; three grandchildren, Shannon and her husband James Lemos, Ryan and his wife Kahina Browning, and Justin and his wife Emily Browning; three great-grandchildren, James Lemos Jr., Daniel Lemos, and Lorraine Browning; five sisters, JoAnn Stoudt and her husband LeRoy, Linda Harris, Brenda Hatfield, Helen Chapman and her husband Ed, and Kathy Mullins; one brother, Allen Harrison; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

She was born on May 22, 1946, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Bessie (Walker) Mays.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Daniel Burgess; one sister, Dorothy Mays; four brothers, Donald Gene, Orville, Mack, and Arnold “Duke” Mays; and one nephew, Lonnie Eugene Chippent.
Alice and Danny “Fleagle,” a close family member, built several houses and countless projects together. Alice found joy in collecting antiques and trinkets, gardening, and riding 4-wheelers. Alice’s unwavering love and care for her family were evident until the very end. She will be dearly missed by all who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Teresa Burgess, and her husband, Michael of Oak Grove, KY; two grandchildren, Michael A. Burgess, and Rebecca Burgess, both of Oak Grove, KY; six great-grandchildren, Jules Burgess of Madison Creek, Kayla Gee Burgess, Kendra Gee Burgess, Michael E. D. Anna Nadine Blankenship - May 23, 1944 - April 05, 2024

Obituary Preview: Anna “Nadine” Blankenship of Hunt, departed this life on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center. Nadine made her plans for this departure many years ago when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church.
She was born on May 23, 1944, at Browning Fork in Mingo County, to the now departed Ernest and Myrtle (Baldwin) Fowler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and their husbands, Betty and Junior Grimmett, Virginia “Jenny” and Teddy Robinette, and Alta “Jane” and James Grimmette; four sisters-in-law, Imogene Workman, Donna Ray Rogers, Vickie Frye, and Tammy Maynard; and brother-in-law, Norville Blankenship.
Nadine was a home maker who took great pride in her home and family. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking, then sharing her specialties with friends. Nadine loved decorating for holidays.
Over time, due to illness, Nadine was limited in her activities. Since she was unable to attend church she enjoyed watching Charles Stanley on TV and reading Sunday School literature. Those close to her through telephone chats were her sister-in-law Janice Blankenship, Carol Trent, Sue (Grimmette) Browning, Brenda Williamson, Joan Trent, her neighbor, Tammy Simpkins, and other special friends. Nadine will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Nadine is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 63 years, “Buddy” Mason Blankenship; one son, Mark Ernest Blankenship. She was
extremely proud of Mark and often referred to the fact that they shared the same birthday and the same love of funny stories.

She was born on June 4, 1943, at Bengal Hollow, the daughter of the late Ralph and Clara (Allen) Greene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Roy Larkin Grimmett; her second husband, James Wright, Jr.; her son, Ronnie Lee Grimmett; two brothers, Leonard Greene and Russell Greene; and four sisters, Helen Moffatt, Virginia Vance, Thelma Waters, and Juanita Cox.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was employed as a Kindergarten Teacher's Aid for 32 years, where she worked at Christian Grade School and then at Buffalo Grade School. She was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith. Her favorite activities were being with her babies and making the holidays special for all of the family. Judy will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Jim Grimmett and his wife Michelle of Davin and Rick Grimmett of Mallory; four grandchildren, Courtney Adkins and her husband Tyler of Cincinnati, OH, Taylor Duncan and her husband Brandon of Accoville, Kelly Dixon and her husband Cooper of Cincinnati, OH, and Erick Grimmett and his wife Reagan of McConnell; four great-grandchildren, Bo Duncan, John Crawford Adkins, Shepard James Adkins, and Jack Duncan; three sisters, Grace Lawson of Springfield, OH, Shirley McClure of Man, and Brenda Conley of Charleston, SC; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Obituary Preview: Donald “Bucky” Maynard, 66, of Accoville, went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, March 14, 2024, leaving from CAMC-Memorial Division after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on October 22, 1957, at Logan, the son of the late Roy and Christine (Vanover) Maynard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Archie and Etta (McComas) Vanover; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Victoria (Adkins) Maynard; two sisters, Rose Ella Fugate and JoAnn Curry; 15 half siblings; a very special nephew, Kody Faine; and a special father-in-law, Paul Brooks.
He attended Man High School. Bucky worked for Napier’s Service Center as a mechanic until the mid-1980s. He then decided to change occupations and became a heavy equipment operator, working for various surface mines until his retirement in 2013.
Bucky was a gifted mechanic who could fix most anything. He had a charismatic personality that enabled him to find common ground with anyone to have good conversations. Bucky never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He had a deep love for the Lord and attended the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church where he really enjoyed the good singing. Devoted to his family, Bucky was a loving husband, father, Popaw, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 40 years, Debra Lynn (Brooks) Maynard; one daughter, Holly Shankool and her husband Anthony of Charleston; a bonus son, Joe Smoot of Lundale; two grandchildren, Sadie Shankool and Maddox Shankool, both of Charleston; three sisters, Imogene Sue Grimmett of Tazewell, TN, Charlene (Harrison) Spaulding, and Nina (Billy) Marcum of Chapmanville; many nieces and nephews; and his yorkie, Ginger who was his fur baby; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church at Accoville.

A devoted Christian, she exemplified love and compassion as a cherished wife and mother. After graduating from Man High School in 1976, she attempted to enlist in the U.S. Army until she met the love of her life. Paula eventually found her professional calling in the Walmart Claims department, where her talents were bright. Walmart entrusted her with auditing responsibilities, sending her on assignments across the nation and overseas.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Paula found joy in creative pursuits. Sewing and woodworking were not just hobbies but expressions of her artistic soul, reflecting her attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Paula’s legacy is one of faith, love, and dedication. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.

As a young man, Jack was wild and rambunctious, that is until he met the love of his life Phyllis Hatfield and they married in 1976. Their union produced two loving sons, Kelly Jack and Joshua Jared. Jack was the greatest husband, father, and Poppy as well as his daughters-in-law’s Favorite. Devoted to his family, Jack was a good provider and protector. When his grandsons came along he took great pride in teaching them life skills and how to love unconditionally.
Jack made the most important decision of his life on December 25, 2023 when he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior.

Obituary Preview: James Alfred Grimmette, 89, of Bruno and a resident of Genesis Logan Center, departed this life Sunday evening, February 18, 2024.
He was born on June 4, 1934, to the late Jesse Grimmette and Estella (Grimmette) Stephens.
James and Alta Jane Fowler Grimmette were married for 66 years before her departure in July of 2022.
Prior to James’ declining death, he attended Sunday School at the Bruno Church of God. He made a confession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior to his Pastor Roger Frye.
Preceding James in death were one sister, Edith (Lacy) Cox, and six brothers, Herbert “Peanut” Grimmette, Tracy Grimmette, Larry Grimmette, David Stephens, Michael Stephens, and Dexter “Dickie” Stephens.
James was a proud member of the United Mine Workers’ Local Union 5958. He loved to discuss his coal mining days with anyone who had time to listen. He always enjoyed having a new car to shine and spent hours maintaining his vehicles. He loved cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and West Virginia Mountaineers. But also loved Western movies, gardening, and listening to gospel music.
Those left to cherish his memory are one brother, Donald and Sandy Grimmette of Raeford, NC, and one sister, Brenda (Charlie) Williamson of Bruno. Sisters-in Law include Sue Grimmette Browning of Bruno, Carolyn Grimmette of Gallipolis, OH, Charlene “Bug” Stephens of Mallory, Wanda Grimmette, and Nadine (Buddy) Grimmette of Hunt.
James leaves behind a host of additional family members and friends who have held a special place in his heart.
The Grimmette family wishes to thank the staff at Genesis Logan Center and the many acts of kindness shown to James by friends and caregivers. She retired from the state of West Virginia after 30 years of service as a social worker. Then, she worked for Logan County Public Schools as a substitute teacher until the COVID pandemic. Where she served as the church secretary and treasurer, Velma taught and led the youth bible bowl team to victory. She was also on the decorating and kitchen committee.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Joyce (Curtis) Jackson, Beatrice Miller, Dennis (Dana) Gordon, Teresa (Edward) Hairston, William (Terri) Gordon, Wayne (Dana) Jackson, Glen Jackson, Shawn Jackson, and Dionne (Terren) Bartley, Gloria (Williard) Jenkins Ronald Jackson, Joan Starghill, and Vivian Garrett (aka Linda); sister-in-law Carol Robinson. She leaves behind a legacy of love with 40 Grandchildren, 82 Great-grandchildren, and 17 Great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A resilient hero to all, she dedicated her life to serving others. Her selfless nature knew no bounds, she generously supported those in need and guided countless individuals on their life’s path. May her spirit of compassion and unwavering faith continue to inspire us all.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man and one hour prior to the Homegoing Celebration at the church also.
A Homegoing Celebration will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the New Beginnings United Missionary Baptist Church at Accoville. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Obituary Preview: Billy Jack “Bill” Dickerson, Sr. 85, of Davin, West Virginia, passed away at his home on Friday, February 9, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Braeholm, West Virginia to the late Charley Ersel Dickerson and Geneva Lee (Milligan) Dickerson on September 4, 1938.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lee Adkins Dickerson; siblings, Charles Dickerson, Ersel Dickerson, and James Dickerson.
Bill was a 1956 graduate of Man High School. Three days after high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and received training as a jet engine mechanic. During his time in the Navy, he served 18 months at the Naval Air Station in Port Lyautey, Morocco, North Africa. After being honorably discharged from the US Navy, Bill worked various jobs before beginning his mining career with Amherst Coal Company. He worked for Amherst for 21 years, and was a member of UMWA Local 1302. Bill continued his mining career as both a mechanic and heavy equipment operator until his retirement. During his younger years, Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retirement, he found that he had great interest and immense talent in woodworking and knife-making. Bill was a faithful member of Claypool United Methodist Church where he served as the President of the United Methodist Men. He was also a choir member and loved attending regular church services while he was able. The family would like for Bill to be remembered as the loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend that he was. He instilled family values as a provider and protector with integrity and ethics that were unmatched. His compassion and love for his family and friends was a blessing, and made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Billy Jack, Jr. (Angie) Dickerson of Davin, West Virginia, Darren Lee (Teresa) Dickerson of Yulee, Florida, and Jacky Lee and companion Aime Lanehart of Davin, West Virginia; four siblings, Mary Blevins of Loveland, Ohio, Tom (Sheila) Dickerson of Lundale, West Virginia, Sue Vance of Lundale, West Virginia, and David Dickerson of Lewisburg, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Bryan Lawhorn of Summerville, South Carolina, Jaclyn (Weston) Harvey of Davin, West Virginia, Alicia (Cody) Waldron of Yulee, Florida, Elizabeth (Brandon) Bradford of Pineville, West Virginia, Danielle (David) Magalski of Yulee, Florida, Braden Dickerson and companion Hannah Hatfield of Spring Valley, West Virginia, and Drake Dickerson of Chapmanville, West Virginia; three great-grandchildren with a fourth on the way, Berklee Harvey, Kohen Bradford, Kinsley Waldron, and Kennedy Bradford, due in July; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
