Marilynn was the beloved wife of the late James Cesaroni; proud mother of Michael (Denise) Obenauf, Patricia (Ken) Simmermon, James (Linda) Obenauf; cherished grandmother of Josh (Nina) Vandervest, Sarah Vandervest, Kate (Jesse) Cassiday, Jacklynn (Justin) Lenart; great grandmother of Vinita Vandervest; dear sister in-law of Sandy Baumgartner and Geri Baumgartner.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents John and Adeline Scheiden, brothers Wally, Rudy and Phillip Baumgartner and sister Jean Abbott.
Marilynn was born July 29,1939 in Chicago Il. Her family later moved to Lake Zurich where she graduated from Ela Vernon high school. She attended college for one year at Southern Illinois University. She spent her career in the banking industry where she worked mostly within the trust department. In May of 2000 she married James Cesaroni and they later moved to The Villages in Florida where she was an avid card maker and spent many hours with her friends making beautiful, unique cards that she shared with family and friends. She also enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling and making new friends.
Marilynn deeply loved her family and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a loving, gracious and caring woman who will be greatly missed by all of us.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 PM at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda. Interment is private.

Raymond P. Rohde - July 04, 1942 - April 22, 2024

Obituary Preview: Raymond Patrick Rohde, known affectionately as Ray, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on April 22, 2024, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Born on July 4, 1942 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Ray and Helen (nee Beres) Rohde. Raymond was a cherished member of the Island Lake community where he lived for the last 43 years.
After spending his younger childhood on a farm, Raymond's family moved to Des Plaines, Illinois where he would meet the love of his life, Paulette, who he married in 1960. Together, they raised three children: Michael (Karen), Christopher (Keri), and Eric (Gina); 11 grandchildren: Jason (Crystal) Rohde, Josh Rohde, Jennifer (Derek Heard) Rohde, Courtney (Kaveh) Kaghazi, Rachael (Sunny) Amin, Makenzie Rohde, Nicholas Rohde, Regan Rohde, Ethan Rohde, Nathan Rohde, and Avery Rohde; and 7 great grandchildren: Kennedy Rohde, Finley Rohde, Collin Heard, Jax Heard, Payton Heard, Mira Amin, and Cameron Kaghazi. His family and his faith were the cornerstones of his life.
Raymond enlisted in the Air Force which provided the roots for a lifetime career in the police services. During his time in the services, he spent 4 years as an Air Policeman which led to 28 years in the police force as an Officer, Detective and Sergeant. After retiring from the police force, Raymond could often be found at the local schools as a substitute teacher which he called the best work of his life. An avid lover of sailing, Raymond spent many years teaching at his sailing school both locally on Lake Michigan and in the Caribbean Sea.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, his sister Dorothy Poggensee, and his brother Jerry Perchla. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his family.

Denise Ann Hamblin - September 22, 1952 - April 17, 2024

Obituary Preview: Denise Hamblin passed away in her home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Hamblin, son Kyle Hamblin, and her mother Fern (nee Spangenburg) Burke. Her son, Jason Hamblin, daughter-in-law Jennifer and grandsons Carson and Colton reside in the area.
Denise was born September 22, 1952. She worked at Winchester House in Libertyville for over 30 years, caring for patients with a witty attitude and a helping hand. Denise loved to spend time with her family, friends, enjoyed participating in Kitchen Klangers, and traveling yearly to visit her brother in Florida. Denise also loved spending time with her grandsons taking them bowling and enjoying Sunday dinners.
Memorials in her honor can be made to Jason Hamblin to be used as Denise wished.

He was cherished by many and will be greatly missed.

Juan Lopez - April 19, 1961 - March 18, 2024

Obituary Preview: In the early morning of March 18, 2024, Juan Lopez passed at the age of 63 in his home in Wauconda.
Juan Lopez was born in Calvillo, Aguascalientes, Mexico to Roberto Lopez and Guadalupe De Lara. He spent his life until the age of 15 in Mexico where is made his way to California, to start his life. He made his way to Chicago, IL where he met his first wife, Mary Wilfinger. They married in the late 80’s and had two daughters, Candace and Julie. Juan became a widow in 2007. He married his second wife, Maria, in 2009 and had a son, Aldo Joel Lopez.
Juan lived a very simple, beautiful life. He spent most of his life as a cook and yard guy at a roofing company. He was hardworking and very passionate in every job he did. He worked hard to give his family and children the life they wanted, the life he always wanted. He lived for his children; they were the most important thing to him. He was well revered as well by his community. Juan enjoyed baseball, American football, gardening, barbequing, playing ball with his son, and spending time with his family. No matter whose life Juan entered, he made a lasting impression with his positive, kind, witty, funny, brave, "keep going," and unapologetic attitude. Anyone could count on Juan to get it done "No problem." Juan is an example of what a man, father, brother, and uncle is.
Juan is preceded in death by his father, Roberto, his mother Guadalupe, his first wife Mary, his first-born Candance, and his younger brother Norberto. He is survived by wife Maria, daughter Julie, son Aldo, his brothers Roberto and Antonio, his sisters Josefina, Delhia and Lucy, several in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and all the lives he entered.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM (Mariachi from 6-7) at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda. Nancy was a devoted family woman, who loved her role as a mother, grandma, great grandma and wife. She cherished quality time with family and would never miss a chance to be at her grandchildren’s sporting events, rain or shine. She was a true super fan. You could find Nancy in the kitchen cooking everyone’s favorite recipes, especially Friday nights. She enjoyed going on road trips and spending time in Florida, with her dear friend Carol. Nancy was very loved and will be missed by many. We will hold on to her memories forever. Nancy was a 1968 graduate of Wauconda High School and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Cary, IL.

A resident of Wauconda, IL for 34 years, Maureen was a kindhearted, caring, and selfless mother to more than just her three children. You could often find her engaging in conversation with everyone she met, remembering everything from special occasions to favorite foods. One of the greatest joys of her life was raising the family dog, Dusty, and caring for her grand-pets, Zuko, Tilly, and Amelia.
Her giving spirit is continued on through the Gift of Hope organ donation.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carroll and Donna Mills, brother Keith Mills, father-in-law Donald Finlayson, and grandson Grayson Kelly Vingan.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 31 years Joy (Finlayson) Mills, his 3 daughters Caley (George) Vingan, Megan Mills, and Shannon Mills; his 3 grandsons George Vingan V, Gage Vingan, and baby Vingan on the way; mother-in-law Edith Finlayson; brother Kenneth Mills, sister-in-law Carol Mills, and multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was a resident of Johnsburg, IL for 32 years, where he continued his passions for snowmobile racing and hockey. He was an avid snowmobile rider who rode thousands of miles in the North Woods of Wisconsin. He could often be found in his beloved garage making hand crafted furniture that he shared with his family. He was a vivid storyteller with an infectious laugh. Kelly was a very outgoing person who joked that he could “make friends with a tree.”
He started his career in tool and die which lead to him becoming a mechanical engineer, allowing him to develop a love for extensively traveling internationally over several years. Out of all his international travels, his favorite place was in Eagle River, Wisconsin where he enjoyed boating and fishing.
Kelly will be missed by all who knew him, may his memory live on in the hearts of family and friends forever.

Obituary Preview: Constance Rose “Connie” Jachec, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024. She was a resident of Wauconda for the past 67 years and cherished this town she called home. Connie is survived by her 3 children; Jim (Sandy), Larry (Peggy) and Mary Beth. She has 4 beloved grandchildren; Katie (Brian), Bill, Matt (Courtney) and Tony (Katie). She has 3 great-grandchildren who she absolutely adored; Ella, Parker and Wyatt. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis (Dale) Miller. Connie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony of 63 years, daughter, Debbie and 3 siblings.
Connie was born in 1933 in Chicago. She graduated from DePaul University with a degree in education and it is here where she met the love of her life. Tony’s family moved to Wauconda where they established Honey Hill Beach in 1945 and Connie followed soon thereafter. Connie taught grammar school until she married Tony in 1956 and immediately started their family. Connie worked at the beach until 1992 and later enjoyed working at Marshall Fields.
Connie found her greatest joy in the company of her beloved family. Her pride in her children was palpable; she cherished every moment spent with them. An exceptional cook, Connie was the mastermind behind the family’s cherished pierogi recipe, a secret passed down through generations. Her love for shopping was well-known, dressing up for everyday activities. Connie’s class was not just in her attire but also reflected in her actions and demeanor.
Connie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be remembered as a woman of love, care, and unparalleled class.

Paula P. Watson - December 31, 1961 - February 14, 2024

Obituary Preview: Paula Watson peacefully passed into the arms of the heavenly father on February 14, the evening of Ash Wednesday, 2024.
Paula was a devoted Catholic, passionate mother, and exuberant learner. No matter what interests one presented, Paula was delighted and excited to learn about the details of your career, hobbies, and worldview. Paula had many joys in life including golf, food, and music. She golfed with her ladies’ league for multiple decades, used her beautiful voice in the Transfiguration Parish Choir, and read a library’s worth of books with her long-standing book club. Paula was a US Navy veteran, using her brilliant mathematical mind to teach Nuclear Power School graduates in Orlando and then educated teams on submarine-detecting sonar.
After retiring from the Navy, Paula raised three children to be remarkably unique and accomplished adults. Once her children were independent, Paula began her second career as a high school math teacher to enlighten more young minds. Beyond the classroom, she coached the math team as well as the girls golf team until she retired due to complications with her breast cancer diagnosis. Paula then became a traveler, visiting her children out west in California and Nevada, and then venturing south of the border to eat ceviche, drink margaritas, and fall in love with the sunset. We know that she is sitting on a beautiful sandy beach in heaven, finally able to smile at the warm sunset once more.
Paula is survived by her children, Grayson, Rose, and Riley.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 4pm-8pm at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084. She is survived by her three daughters, Kathleen (William) Rohde of Mundelein; Linda (Scott) Bond of Lake Zurich/Bettendorf, IA; and Terry (John) Lawniczak of Wauconda. She has four grandchildren, Michael Bond (deceased); Jamie (Eric) Chalus; Robert (Lauren) Rohde; and Brian Rohde. She has 6 great-grandchildren, Charlie Chalus, James Chalus, Lyla Chalus, Ashley Rohde, Blake Rohde and Luke Rohde. Joan was preceded in death by her loving parents Ralph and Marion Mohrdieck. She is also survived by her brother William (Katherine) Mohrdieck of Morton Grove, and three nephews, Thomas (Lori) Mohrdieck, Greg (Pam) Mohrdieck, and Bert (Nicole) Morhdieck and their families.
Joan grew up in Chicago and went to Alvernia High School; she had very fond memories of her time there. She also lived in Mesa, Arizona from 1947 to 1949 attending Mesa High School. While studying at Wright Junior College, she met Bob (Robert) Bailey (Veteran-Korean War) and eventually married. They moved to Morton Grove in 1963 where they lived and raised their daughters. Unexpectedly, Bob was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease shortly after they moved in and passed away in 1968 leaving Joan to raise her three little girls on her own. She took on a part-time job at Guardian Metal Sales where she worked until she retired at age 65. Joan attended Parents without Partners where she met Roy Christensen (Veteran-Korean War) whom she married in 1977. They had a very happy life until his passing of lung cancer in 1982. During this time, she met Helen Main who was Roy’s hospice nurse. They stayed dear friends and traveled together to many beautiful places including California, Hawaii, Mexico, and Canada.
Joan loved her family most and was delighted when her great-grandchildren would visit. She enjoyed the holidays, especially our annual Christmas Eve gathering at her brother’s house; it was quite a festive occasion. In 2003, she moved to Lake Zurich to be closer to her daughters. One of her favorite things was going to the Lincolnshire Marriott Theater. She was a proud grandma when attending her grandchildren’s activities, and she always looked forward to Sunday Mass at St. Francis de Sales Church (Lake Zurich). Joan stayed connected with many long-time friends, even into retirement. She made friends easily and enjoyed the many activities offered at the Ela Township Senior Center. In 2017, she was forever heartbroken by the sudden passing of her beloved grandson, Michael Bond, age 29. Joan was a gentle soul who would do anything for anyone; she was very kind and generous. She always had a listening ear, well-meaning advice, and her door was open to those who needed comforting. She will be missed by so many, especially her daughters.
Services will be held at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL, Saturday, February 24, 2024. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the funeral service at 2:00pm. Joan’s final resting place will be in the Cremation Garden of St. Francis, All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL, near her grandson, Michael.

She had a beautiful smile, and an infectious laugh and a heart of gold. Sandy was a very classy, special lady who will be terribly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William R. Bowes, her parents, Cleo and Shirley (nee Daley) Cook, and her beloved grandmother, Cora. She was blessed with five children: Tom (Kris), Andy (Tammy), Jeff (Deb), Bob (Cherylyn), Dan (Danielle) and her many grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her younger sibling, Eleanor, two sister-in laws, Janet and Micki, and many nieces and nephews.
One of Marilyn’s greatest loves was spending time in her garden. She could make flowers bloom just by looking at them. When not in the garden she loved to make people laugh, especially her boys. Marilyn loved beings around her numerous animals, not only dogs that were family members, but also her love of birds and “chippies”. She was passionate about reading, design and sewing, and traveling on numerous adventures. She loved to drive.
Never one to meet a stranger, she made friends anywhere and everywhere. She will be remembered for her kindness to all, neighbors and strangers alike, and her ability to find joy in everything that life had to offer.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home 235 North Main Street, Wauconda, IL 60084. Interment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery, Fremont Center, IL.
