George was preceded in death by his parents G. Howard Snyder and Emily Wacker of Rydal, PA. As well as his brother Thomas of Willow Grove, PA. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandi (Sorg). He was a devoted father to his daughters Melissa (Chaz) Trommello and Melanie (Ray) Prodorutti. He is also survived by the lights of his life, his grandchildren Justin, Julia, Brandon, and Molli.
He attended Germantown Academy from kindergarten to graduation in 1956. He attended Washington and Lee University and graduated from Temple University. George was active in his alumni class from GA, kept in contact with classmates, and loved their monthly lunches with a small group from the area. He was a proud and active member of Second Alarmers Rescue Squad for 50 years, having served as both Chief and President. He was an avid sports fan especially tennis and hockey
From his years as an Ocean City lifeguard to the present, he loved The Jersey shore. He had a passion for travel, and enjoyed numerous trips to Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Orkney and Shetland. England held a special place in his heart with dear friends in Frodsham, Cheshire and in London .

Obituary Preview: COL John V. Matonis (Ret.), age 73, lived in Willow Grove and died peacefully at Abington Hospital on Christmas Eve, December 24th, 2017. With him were his wife Cynthia, neighbors and friends. Colonel Matonis served for 23 years in the U.S. Army. He volunteered for the Army in 1966. He served in Vietnam, in Long Binh, with the Army Corps of Engineers.
Upon his return from Vietnam he joined the U.S. Army Reserve serving with the 157th Separate Infantry Brigade (Mechanized) headquartered in Horsham, PA with subordinate units in Philadelphia and Eastern PA. Thereafter he served as Commander of the 4074th US Army Reception Bn, 76th Division. COL Matonis received various awards during his military career including the Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and Meritorious Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster.
John was also a career banker working for several banks in the Philadelphia area: 1st Pennsylvania, CoreStates, First Union and Fleet Bank. John was also a Judge of Elections in Willow Grove. He also served on the Board of Directors of Cheltenham Art Center in Cheltenham. He was proud of his Lithuanian Heritage and was active in support of the Lithuanian Community in Philadelphia. John was a graduate of Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. John was interested in landscaping, gardening, pottery making, Jewelry making as well as traveling. He also was an avid reader of politics, history, religion and fiction stories.
Survivors are his loving wife Cynthia, a sister Donna Trimakas and husband Ed of Mukilteo, Washington, a nephew Andrew Trimakas and wife, Cecilia,and a niece Lisa Thew and husband, Tim and children, Emma and Kit. John is predeceased by his parents Vytautas Matonis and Irene Matonis.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown PA.

Born Mar. 15, 1941 in Philadelphia to the late Albert and Anne (Chambers) Champion. She was the loving wife of Paul Spadaro for 55 years. Together they loved traveling, especially to Disney, the family trip to Italy, and summers at the 52nd St. Ocean City beach. She was a bowler of over 40 years and Paul’s right hand person during tax season.
She is survived by her husband; daughters Lisa Williams (Joe), Linda Mowinski (Ed), and Laurie Ferrara (Frank); grandchildren Ryan, Jenna, Kevin, Kristin, Justin, Emma, and Alex; and many other loving family and friends.
All are invited to a visitation Friday, Dec. 29, from 10-11am and a memorial service at 11am, both at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Rd. Feasterville, PA 19053. Inurnment will be privately held at a later date.

Obituary Preview: Eugene K Pfeffer JR, entered the presence of his LORD and Savior the night of December 15, 2017. He was 86 years old. Born in Philadelphia PA, Gene started working at a local grocery store at the age of 12 in their produce Department. Through out his teen and young adult years he developed a vast knowledge about “Fruits and vegetables”. He was a faithful employee of Food Fair Stores Inc for 33 years where he worked his way up to Supervisor- Assistant Merchandiser overseeing the produce, dairy, bakery, and floral departments.
Having accepted Christ as his personal savior at a young age Gene became a faithful follower of Christ through out his life. He faithfully served in his church as Sunday School Superintendent, choir member, deacon, meal prep for church dinners, and would lead and teach services at the Sunday Breakfast Mission.
He was an avid bowler, having bowled in High School and through out his adult life in the Phila Food Trade League as well as a Church Bowling league. He enjoyed bowling with his son Gene III for several years and taught his grandson to love and excel at the sport as well. He enjoyed watching all of the Philadelphia Sports teams play.
Well into his “retirement” he became a Class Room Aide for the Philadelphia School District helping children learn how to read until health issues prevented him from continuing to work at the age of 83.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah-lynn & David White, Ellie & Richard Tarnoviski, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grand Children, and sister Janice Swanson. Preceded in death by his wife E. Linnie Pfeffer and his son Eugene K Pfeffer III. In lieu fo flowers, donations in his memory should be made to the Lawndale Baptist Church 6433 Lawndale Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19111

Gerri was born to parents Joe and Ivy Miller on April 1, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA. She grew up as the middle of 3 children. In 1963, she married John (Jack) H. Fitzi. For more than 50 years, she held many office positions, and raised 2 children, John, Jr. (Jack) and Jessica L. After the passing of her husband, she earned her GED at Northeast High School. She transitioned into banking, holding many positions in local Philadelphia banks and credit unions. Her longest serving position was in the payroll department of American Heritage Federal Credit Union, where she made many dear friends. Until the last 4 years of her life, Gerri was a life-long Philadelphian, making many life-long friends, especially on Elsinore St.
Gerri is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John H. Jr and Cecilia Fitzi; their children, Brendan and Malcolm, her daughter and son-in-law Jessica L. and Brad Poe; their son, Evan; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald A. and Helen Miller and sisters-in-law, Edith Miller and Lorraine Florek; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Fitzi; and her brother, Joe Miller.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 15 from 10-11am, and a memorial service at 11am, both at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053. Burial of the ashes will occur at Sunset Memorial Park shortly thereafter.

Ed was born February 23, 1930 in Kensington. He was the son of the late John and Mary Courduff.
Ed served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the Teamster Voice Local 107. Ed was a longtime member of Lighthouse Boys Club and Venango Bears. Ed coached countless youth at Fox Chase Soccer Club and Fox Rok Athletic Association. Ed’s favorite pastimes included Fishing mostly in Fortescue, NJ on the Delaware Bay and hunting with family and friends in Tioga County, PA and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his children Marcy Mayeski, Maryann (David) Redlinger, Edward J. (Clare) Courduff, Barbara Matwiejczyk, and Brian Monk (Jeanette) Courduff. He is also survided by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sister in law Patricia Dotzman and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Mary he was predeceased by his sister Muriel Kelleher.
