She was preceded in death by her parents; her children Reginald (Rex), Susan and Ray Rawls; her brothers John Mitchell (Willie Pearl), Cecil Mitchell (Jewel), and Ernest Lee Mitchell; her sisters Nanny Mitchell, Ida Fondren (Ellis), Mary Etta Hughey (George), Ethel Holifield (Myron), Louise Richey (Leo), and Christine Martin (Kenneth).
She is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Carolyn Mitchell, a very special best friend, Mary Ann Pickle, and a fur baby, Cindy.
A graveside service and a Celebration of Life will be held on April 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL with Rev. Ed Pickle officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Greensboro Chapel directing. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Obituary Preview: Bertha Mae Colburn, 87, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Pineview Assembly of God with Rev. Dan Finney and Rev. Steve Vernon officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Greensboro Chapel directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 pm before service begins.
Bertha Mae was born on January 18, 1937, to Marvin Dawson and Opal Key Johnson, in Uniontown, AL. She met her loving husband, Robert Colburn, Jr., in 1944, and married him on June 2, 1955, the week after she graduated from Greensboro High School. Bertha Mae and Robert started their life together in Marion Junction, AL, and later moved to Greensboro, AL, where they remained together until Robert went to Heaven to wait for her there. She was married to Robert for 63 years.
Bertha Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Opal Johnson; her husband, Robert Colburn, Jr., her sisters, Dannie, Opaleen, and Marvine Johnson; her son, Carnell Colburn; and her great-grandson, Trenton Brown.
Survivors include her daughters, Angela Colburn Warner (Jim) of Florence; Traci Colburn Montz (Darryl) of Greensboro; daughter-in-law, Melissa Searcy Colburn of Cottondale; eight grandchildren Kristopher Colburn (Kristi), Daniel Colburn (Hannah), Nadiea Todd (Chris), Kimberly Lancaster, Jennifer McKinney (Ryan), Brandon Montz (Kailey), Tabitha Stewart (James Allen), Kelli Montz (Cody-fiancé); and 16 great-grandchildren, Baileigh Colburn, Kaleb Colburn, Blake Colburn, Emily Colburn, Braydon Green, Asher Colburn, Logan Todd, Jordan Carmichael, Baker Porter, Charlei Brown, Hartlei Brown, Macy Mae McKinney, Cooper Montz, Madelyn Montz, Ansley Montz, Dawson Stewart. Bertha Mae loved God, her family, reading the Bible, attending her church (Pineview
Assembly of God), gospel music, arranging flowers, talking and texting with her friends/family on the telephone, Atlanta Braves Baseball, Auburn University football/basketball/baseball, and listening to The Rick & Bubba Show. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She lived in Gastonia, NC with her family until she moved to York, SC in 2000. Mollie loved her trips to the beach and going to shows and lunch with friends. She cherished attending both her grandchildren’s weddings over the past few years.
Mrs. Meeks is survived by her 2 sons and their spouse Jamie and Amanda of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robbie and Kate of Blacksburg, SC, grandchildren and their spouse, Jacob and Elizabeth Meeks of Kennesaw, GA, Hannah and Jacob Perritt of Myrtle Beach, SC, and her cousins Jimmy and Judy Dunn and family of Albemarle, NC. Mollie is preceded in death by cousins Jerry and Maxine Dunn.

He is survived by his parents, Ruel James Browder, Jr. and Sheree McGraw Browder, his sister RaSarah Browder Johnson (Jeremy), his niece Emery James Johnson, his nephew Bryson Johnson; Brooke Seale and her son David Hezekiah McCrory. James also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by Ruel James Browder, Sr., Della Elizabeth Browder, Ruella Melinda Browder, Ray Rushton McGraw, and Sara Boutwell McGraw.
James, a longtime resident of Camden, AL, and most recently Greensboro, AL, was born on March 8, 1981. He pursued his education at Auburn University, where he obtained a degree in Civil Engineering and was an active member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Over the span of 15 years, he dedicated himself to a career as a Civil Engineer in and around the Black Belt area.
Outdoorsmanship was James's passion, evident in his love for nature and hands-on activities. Whether he was navigating the waters, crafting contraptions from leftover wood, or tending to the farm, James found solace in the great outdoors. He generously shared his enthusiasm with both young and old, fostering their appreciation for nature. Despite his brief time on earth, he made a significant impact by guiding children in outdoor activities such as waterskiing, tubing, hunting, fishing and farming.
In honor of James's lifelong dedication to the outdoors, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Trail Life Troop AL-0094 of Camden, AL. This nonprofit scouting organization provides mentorship and character development to boys across the United States. Contributions can be made to BBF Trail Life Troop AL-0094 at Town-Country United Bank, Account #476424, or sent to Bible Baptist Fellowship, P.O. Box 1252, Camden, AL 36726.

Margaret Deal Tutwiler - April 26, 1927 - February 17, 2024

Obituary Preview: Margaret Deal "Margie" Tutwiler, age 96, died February 17, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama. She was born in Ashford, Alabama, on April 26, 1927, to Joseph and Carrie Deal, and she grew up in Cottonwood, Alabama.
She married Strudwick Y. Tutwiler II on June 4, 1949, and they were married 68 years. They made their home in Greensboro, Alabama, and Margie worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm while raising four children. They especially enjoyed traveling and visited all the states in the U.S. She graduated from Judson College with a BS in Elementary Education and was an elementary school teacher for several years at Greensboro Public School. She and Strudwick were both active in the Greensboro Presbyterian Church. Margie was a gifted artist, and we will cherish her beautiful paintings. She is preceded in death by her husband Strudwick in 2017, her parents, her brother, Harwell Deal, sister-in-law, Helen Deal, and nephew Kenneth Deal. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and teacher.
Margie is survived by her children, Linda Dunkin (Bob); Virginia “Jenny” Nix (Terry); Strudwick “Trey” Tutwiler III (Lou Ann); and Amy Burch (Brad); her seven grandchildren, Dr. Strudwick Tutwiler (Dr. Allison); Dr. Young Tutwiler (Jeana); Ashe Tutwiler (Stef); Dr. Jessica Unterkofler (Jonathan); Dr. Garrett Nix (Ashley); Cara Burch; and Trent Burch; and seven great grandchildren, Jonathan and William Tutwiler, Emma and Ellie Tutwiler, and Virginia, Jack and Henry Unterkofler.
The family would like to thank Carillon Oaks and The Retreat Hospice in Mobile and the wonderful caregivers who helped and supported her in the final weeks.
