She was born on May 17, 1949 in Keokuk to Walter and Anna Metz Pezley. Sherry worked at Sheaffer Pen Company and retired after thirty years of service. She enjoyed eating food, especially pizza and sweets. Most of all she loved her cats.
Survivors include her son, Jeff (Julie) Platt of Mason City, IA; two sisters, Sandra Parker Williams of Mt. Pleasant and Dixie (Bill) Fette of Buckeye, AZ; one brother, Denis (Vicki) Pezley of Palmyra, Mo; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmother Lial Metz.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will hold a private service with burial in Charleston Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Tara (Daniel) Nolan of Donnellson; one son, Kyle (Laura) Beach of Donnellson; nine grandchildren, Jesse (Logan), Joey (Ashley), Clayton, Caleb, Adrienne, Trevor, Gavin, Hunter and Logan; three great grandchildren, Jaxson, Ave and Tate; her mother, Vicki Beach of Denmark; one brother, Kurt (Shannon) Enke of Wever; her sister in law, Kelly Enke of Denmark; three step children, Brian (Ranee) Beach of Dallas City and Scott Beach and Kristi Beach of Denmark; two step brothers, John (Rena) Beach and Jerry Beach of Denmark; nieces and nephews. Leland worked in maintenance most of his life. He loved anything to do with cars. In retirement, Leland and Elizabeth spent time in Cedar Key, FL where he enjoyed going to car shows and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy (Will) Conlee of Ft. Madison; two grandchildren, Drew and Addison Conlee of Ft. Madison and his beloved cat, Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Sherry was a 4-H leader for many years and she enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, quilting and doing stained glass work.

Dale worked in maintenance at FMCH and retired after forty-three years of service and also owned Dale’s Sausage Shop. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Knights of Columbus, The Pastime Club and served in the US Army. Dale was very handy and could make or fix anything. He was a avid craftsman and created many pieces, especially for his family. He loved working around the house and in the yard and enjoyed hunting and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Pollmeier of Ft. Madison; two sons, John Pollmeier of Fairhope, AL and Mark (Jamie) Pollmeier of Ft. Scott Kansas; one daughter, Sara (James) Poe of Ft. Madison; six grandchildren, Coy and Tate Pollmeier, Kelsey and Austin Heidbreder, Lanie and Alyssa Fincher and one great grandchild, Harper Heston; one brother, David Pollmeier of Ft. She enjoyed music, reading, playing her kazoo, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Alice Lucille Bowen Johnston was born Sept.13,1931 to James Corbley and Ruby (Smith) Bowen in Maloy, Iowa. She later moved to Benton, Iowa where Alice attended Benton school where she graduated as valedictorian of her Senior class. She also participated playing on the 6 on 6 high school girls basketball team.
After graduation she worked at the Gunter Jewelry store in Mt. Ayr, IA and the Bedford Café in Bedford, Iowa where she met and fell in love with Thomas T(Tim) Johnston and would marry on June 18,1950. Alice then started her numbers career (bookkeeping) at the Johnston Motor Co. in Mt. Ayr, Iowa until 1961 when the family moved to Fort Madison, Iowa where she went to work in the Production Control Office of Sheaffer Pen Corp. for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. Tim and Alice celebrated 37 years of marriage until Tim's death in 1988.
Alice enjoyed the opportunity to spoil her grandsons in their early years and loved watching their sports and activities. Her house on Oak Drive was a stopping place for her grandsons, nieces and nephews and their friends to gather. Being #5 of 12 children and with 25 nieces and nephews gave her opportunity to be involved in many family events and celebrations.
In later years she enjoyed traveling with family and friends and her Friday nights at the casino; as well as watching sporting events on TV. She also enjoyed her daily phone calls from her surviving siblings. Alice still insisted on balancing her checkbook with only pencil and paper.
She is survived by one son Thomas T. “Ted” Johnston Jr. and wife Joan of Ft. Madison; grandsons Todd Johnston (Rachel Hodges) of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Nicholas (Kate) Johnston of Bloomington, IL; great granddaughters Emma Olson, Maddie and Mia Johnston; siblings Mickey Routh of Mt. Ayr, IA, Joe (Alice) Bowen of Iowa City, IA and Sandy Hulett of Osage Beach Mo; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Annie Haley, Sally Pratte, Katie Butler, Jean Herrington and Belle Graham; brothers, James, Jr. “Bobby”, Larry Bowen, and Jerry “Oscar” Bowen.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Pat was an avid crafter and taught crocheting to many people. Pat and Bill loved to garden and enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables. She was a very giving person to many yet lived a simple life. One of her favorite past times was watching birds. Pat was a member of First Chrisitan Church in Burlington and devoted time to mission programs. She enjoyed working for the less fortunate and also sponsored children through East LA Light & Life School. Pat wanted to thank her friends for their loyalty and friendship; including Tom & Linda Kottenstette, Tina Blint, Karen Stevens, Jenny McCartney and Linda Laymon. The family would like to thank the employees and volunteers at the Southeast Iowa Regional Home & Hospice.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Orton of Burlington; her brother, Bernard (Shari) Umthum of Janesville, IA; her sister, Kay Lynn Watson of Long Grove, IA; her brother in law, Glenn (Debbie) Orton of Moncks Corner, SC and several nieces and nephews.
