Bobbi Lynn McLaughlin - September 07, 1961 - August 10, 2021

Departed: 08/10/2021 (Junction)
Obituary Preview: Bobbi Lynn McLaughlin, 59, of Midland, peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in Junction, Texas.
Born September 7, 1961 to Bobby and Anabel Davis in Junction, Bobbi Lynn was given her Daddy’s name; the man she resembled, emulated, loved, and admired with all of her heart.
Kind, loving, and beautiful, Bobbi Lynn was the quintessential home town girl. The one little girls looked up to and longed to be. She was a cheerleader, basketball player, and an outstanding track star. A three-time state qualifier, Bobbi Lynn was a district and regional champion. She broke and set records in the open quarter at numerous pre-district, district, and regional meets.
Her senior year, Bobbi Lynn anchored the state champion mile relay team. She loved catching other runners from behind and proving her competitiveness when she was handed the baton in fourth place only to finish in first. That fighting, motivated spirit remained strong throughout her life.
She was a 1980 graduate of Junction High School and attended Angelo State University where she was a member of the track team. While at ASU, she found something to chase other than medals—Brian McLaughlin, the love of her life.
As a cheerleader, Bobbi Lynn was used to outrunning football players. One former Eagle running back remembers reaching the goal line only to realize Bobbi Lynn had run the distance with him from the sidelines—and beaten him to the touchdown—a testament to her infectious enthusiasm and superb athleticism.
Bobbi Lynn caught Brian in much the same way, and married him. Over the next few years, the two greatest accomplishments of her life arrived—her sons BK and Quinten. Mothering was second nature to Bobbi Lynn. She mothered her brothers for years, so the arrival of her grandson, Davis, was a pure joy for her. Bobbi Lynn loved all her boys deeply and fiercely.
Few people have the gift to make others feel better by the power of their presence. That ability was Bobbi Lynn’s essence. She was always concerned with everyone else rather than herself. She served and cared for the needs of others, always excited to learn what her friends and family were up to on any given day.
She loved bigger than most and felt surrounded by those she saw as the greatest people in the world. That emulation of Christ’s pure love showed through her actions as a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, BB, and friend.
Everyone loved Bobbi Lynn, and she loved them in return. She filled her life and the lives of others with laughter and the pleasure of good stories well told. She studied the scripture daily, walked and ran, collected and grew  beautiful flowers and plants, and took care of every animal in need that crossed her path.
Her light burned bright; she was one of the greats. Taking the baton for her final run, she crossed the finish line having “fought the good fight…[finished] the race…[and to the end] kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
Bobbi Lynn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert (Velma) Davis, and Warren (Minnie) Ellis.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Brian; her sons BK (Molly) McLaughlin of Kerrville, and Quinten McLaughlin of Midland; her grandson Davis McLaughlin of Kerrville; her parents Bobby (Anabel) Davis of Junction; brothers Jim Davis of Austin and Mitch (Michea) Davis of Junction; nephews Dustin, Kaden and Hudson; nieces Devin, Chelsi, Caigen, Christen, Mecina, and Adelaide; along with numerous aunts, cousins, lifelong friends, and her babies, Sky and Zoe June.
Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 P.M., Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Kimble Funeral Home in Junction. Services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Reverends Jim and Laurie Barker officiating. Interment to follow in Junction City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bobby Morris Hurley, Nino Torres, Paul Blackburn, Clay Simon, Ronnie Carpenter, Dean Martin, Brian Watson, and John Stuard. Honorary pallbearers are John Larson, Steve Rambie, Ferd Hoefs, Todd Boales, Kipp Boales, Billy Jacob, Dwain Custer, Bart McLaughlin, and Ward Whitworth.

Mildred Jewel Klingemann - August 17, 1937 - July 20, 2021

Departed: 07/20/2021 (Junction)
Obituary Preview: Mildred Jewel Klingemann, known by most as Sister, 83, of Junction, TX, peacefully left her life here on Earth and entered the gates of Heaven July 20, 2021, in San Angelo, TX.
Born August 17, 1937, in Birmingham, AL, she was of Methodist faith and played basketball and softball for Woodlawn Methodist Church. As a teen, she also enjoyed dancing, playing piano, and skating. Upon graduation from Woodlawn High School in 1956, she continued her education at Alverson-Draughon Business College. She then was employed by an automobile dealership and soon afterwards began one of her greatest chapters in life as her oldest daughter Judy was born to her and her husband Don Rutledge.
Sister enjoyed many adventures, but one of her favorites was driving race cars. She was always fascinated with fast cars and the thrill of racing. She even competed, as the only woman driver, in a race at the Montgomery Alabama Speedway, against all men drivers.
In 1963, she moved with her family to Circle D Ranch in Marianna, FL, where the thrills of life continued.  From jumping out of airplanes to riding cutting horses (where she won back-to-back titles in 1966 and 1967, in the Heart of Dixie Cutting Horse Association), to hunting and fishing, Sister was always up for a challenge.
She soon married the love of her life, Howard Klingemann, and they settled in Bonifay, FL, with the newest addition to the family, their daughter Karen. The family of four joined forces with the family business where Sister was an integral part of Circle D Western Shop and Rodeo Company.   That led to her greatest passion in life, rodeo. For nearly six decades, Sister was a secretary and timer for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, the Southeastern Circuit Rodeo Finals, the National High School Rodeo Association, along with the Ram Circuit National Finals. Among her greatest accomplishments was being selected as a timer and then secretary for the National Finals Rodeo, and being selected as the 2002 NFR Secretary of the Year.  She was also selected as one of the top finalists for the 2017 Donita Barnes Contract and Personnel Lifetime Achievement awards from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. When she wasn’t rodeoing, she and Howard could be found playing Bingo, hunting, or fishing.
Nearest and dearest to her heart was her instrumental part in the development of the Southeastern Circuit Rodeo Finals, holding the first circuit finals rodeo at her family’s ranch-Circle D. Sister continued her work and love for the sport of rodeo and sat on the Southeastern Circuit Board of Directors for the remainder of her career. She always took a personal interest in cowboys and cowgirls and if ever a helping hand was needed, Sister was the first to lend one. Her kindness and generosity defined her, and the respect and admiration of her rodeo family brought her immense joy.
Sister lived life to the fullest and had a heart as big as Texas, especially when it came to her precious grandchildren Jonathan and Kaitlyn. She laughed, played, hunted, fished, and loved them from their first breath to her last breath, as she did her entire family.
She and Howard spent the last couple of years enjoying their ranch in Texas, walking in the park, and feeding and counting their deer.   She filled her life and the life of others with laughter.   She was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside.   Her love showed through her actions as a devoted wife, mother, Mawmaw, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt Cecil Contri, Ruth Contri Dryden, George E. Dryden, and brother Matt C. Dryden.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Howard Klingemann, of Junction TX, daughters Judy Harville (Steve Mathews) of Milton FL, Karen Baggett (Danny Bolt) of Junction, TX, grandchildren Jonathan Baggett, of Stephenville, Tx, Kaitlyn Russ, of Bonifay, FL, sister Mary Jo Gibson, of St. Pete Beach, FL, along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Betty Nethery - April 24, 1931 - July 16, 2021

Departed: 07/16/2021 (Junction)
Obituary Preview: Betty Carpenter Nethery died on July 16, 2021. Elizabeth Ann Carpenter was born to Mary Lorine Morriss Carpenter and James Warren Carpenter on April 24, 1931. She grew up in Junction, but spent much time in Edwards, Kerr and Bandera counties on her grandparents’ ranches. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Nethery.
Betty graduated Junction High School in three years and followed her older sister, Mary Logan Carpenter, to Baylor University, often traveling by train much of the way. She was in the Baylor Band one year, on the Debate Team, and in the Honors English Class. Betty made lifelong friendships there. She graduated, also in three years, with a double major in English and Spanish. She was an accomplished poet and could recite from memory the great English poets. During summers, she taught riding lessons at Camp Mystic.
Betty returned home, met, and subsequently married George Wilburn Nethery in 1951. She taught science classes and English as a second language, as well as coaching girls’ sports for three years.
Betty was a gardener’s gardener from an early age, working in her family’s Victory Garden at the house in which she was born at the corner of Oak and 11th Streets in Junction. She had two large gardens at the ranch, numerous peach tree varieties, and a number of Black African fig trees Wilburn got from a friend in Brady. Feeding her family and countless friends produce from her garden brought her much joy as did her pleasure in growing cut flowers to give to friends and for the church altar every Sunday. She developed the L.J.O.E. Jalapeño (largest jalapeño on earth) with Dr. Jerry Parsons, horticulturalist. She was interviewed by Southern Living Magazine in the 1970s about her tomatoes that she sold at Telegraph Store.
Betty was a charter member of the Leti Study Club and rarely missed a meeting. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Guild. She was also a member of the Texas Cowbells, a group of women ranchers promoting Texas beef. Betty became a certified Master Naturalist after the death of her husband Wilburn in 2006.
Betty had an uncanny memory for both British and Texas history and recounted stories of generations of families across the state. She always remembered the birthdays not only of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, but also of her nieces, nephews, and their children. She loved letting children get to know her garden and teaching them lifelong skills. She started the River Rock Garden at 159 N. 17th, creating the first Classroom Garden in Kimble County.
The foundation and center of Betty’s life was unquestionably her deep faith in Jesus Christ. She invited Him into her life as Lord and Savior at an early age, and the great transaction in her soul became a “Spring of Living Water” that refreshed many many thirsty souls along the way of her pilgrimage. When reference was made of the many friends and family she would see in Heaven, she quickly said that the first thing she wanted to do there was bow at the feet of Jesus and worship Him… then all those other joys ...
Betty is survived by children Mollie (Dennis), Martha (Kenny), Margaret (Jeff), and Mary; grandchildren, Dennis (Cassie), Walter (Amber), Collin (Whitney), Joe, and James; great grandchildren Jacob, Jonathan, Joshua, Aizley, George, Amelia, and Hudson; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Betty’s surviving siblings are Dr. Robert Carpenter (Carolena), Sue Baugh (Don), and Carol Hoffman (Bob Al).
Visitation will be at Kimble Funeral home from 4-6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 1010 College Street, Junction, TX. Burial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1119 Main Street, Junction, TX 76849. Interment will be held privately following the service.
