Eric Porter Hasz - Unknown - March 23, 2022

Departed: 03/23/2022 (Neenah)
Obituary Preview: Eric Porter Hasz passed away peacefully at the age of 51 years after an 8-month battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer at ThedaClark hospital near his home in Neenah, Wisconsin. Eric will long be remembered for what he referred to as his “literal sense of humor.” He liked to interpret things for exactly what you said, not what you may have meant.  Eric loved the game of golf, his long drive on the golf course was amazing for many to witness, and only if asked, would Eric freely share tips for someone else to improve their swing or other parts of their game.  Eric enjoyed keeping his mind active by playing cards and games of all types.  Frequently, he could be found playing cribbage, sudoku, Tetris, mine-sweeper or any other number of online games.  In fact, Eric was often known for just destroying Tamara’s friends in the game “Words with Friends.”
Following the rules was a part of Eric’s being.  Whether it was the game of golf, cards or other things in life, Eric believed in the process and order of the world.  Eric believed in scouting, and although he did not become an Eagle scout himself, he supported everything in the process and the opportunities that scouting offers youth.  His belief led him to co-lead cub-scout dens and then become Scout Master for all three of his sons’ Scout Troop 81.  It was only when he was diagnosed that he had to step down.
Eric was a hardworking and dedicated member of JJ Keller & Associates for 17 years.  He was absolutely dedicated to make things work, work properly and work consistently.  Eric never liked the short cut; he would rather take the time to do it right and prevent the need to fight fires.
Eric liked his sports teams – forever a fan of his hometown Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies baseball, Milwaukee Brewers (except when playing the Rockies), Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Buffalos football, his Alma Mater University of Arizona football, in addition to the Wisconsin Badgers football (again, expect when the college teams played each other, then he was very conflicted).
And through it all there were Eric’s legendary shoulder rubs!  He wouldn’t ask, he would just step behind and rub the shoulders of some lucky soul at a party. It was truly magic to have Eric rub your shoulders; his wife often says that was one of the reasons she married him.  It was one of his many gifts and one that he didn’t mind sharing. As Eric, his wife and his children navigated the path of a terminal illness, he was inspired to Live and with his wife adopted the mantra “Living Out Our Best Life”, no matter the amount of life that remained.  Together in their marriage they had always kept the presence of mind to “find the joy” in bad things that would happen.  So too was it during his illness.  As he could tolerate, there were outings to sporting events, poker night with friends, dinners, scotch and bourbon tastings, parties and fun!
In the end, Eric chose to share one last time.  He had discussed with his wife the desire for someone to learn something from this horrible disease, if possible.  Therefore, immediately upon his passing, his whole body remains were donated to an organization that provides for research and medical training.
Eric leaves behind a loving and devoted wife, Tamara, and three sons; Porter, Padraig and Caruso, all of whom miss him dearly.
Eric his further survived by his father, Earl Hasz Jr. and his wife Mary Kay; in-laws Ron and Roseanne Gehauf; mother, Elaine Nixon; Stepsister Kathy (Mike) Hanak; stepbrother Kris (Holly) Hudson, stepsister Veanne (Eric) Anderson; brother Earl (Heather) Hasz and brother-in-law, Terrence Gehauf.  Additionally, Eric also leaves behind the following nieces and nephews: Anne Hasz, Ethan Hasz, Abbey Marceau, Kendall Hanak, Karson Hanak, Cole Hudson, Kaden Hudson, Karis Anderson, and Monya Anderson.  As well as the following Aunts and Uncles; Caroline Hasz Jackson, Lynn Hasz, Eloise (Kent) Petzold, Leslie (Larry) Rand, Dean (Vicki) Porter, Dawn (Muddassir) Khan.
Preceding Eric in death are his Grandparents Ruth and Earl Hasz Sr., Sylvestor and Anne Porter, and his Uncle Charles Hasz, Uncle Jim Jackson, and Aunt Faythe Wood. Tamara would like to thank the great many doctors that provided care and treatment from the time he was diagnosed and throughout his treatment of cancer.  Additionally, all the folks from the front desk, to scheduling and the nurses who provided such wonderful care for Eric and Tamara during treatments.  Additionally, the hospice workers and nurses.  For those of our friends and family members that supported us with unbridled and unconditional love and understood that they would never understand exactly what we’re going through. Lastly, to our amazing Neenah family – the friends who brought meals, rides for kids, cups of coffee, listened for hours, did chores around the house, helped, helped and helped some more; there are not enough ways or enough thanks that can be shared!
A GoFundMe was setup for the family titled Help for the Hasz Family.
A memorial service for those local to the Neenah area will be held Friday April 8th, 2022 at St Margaret Mary Church, 620 Division St, Neenah, WI, with visitation beginning at 4pm and services at 7pm.  Funeral services will take place at St Margaret Mary Church, 620 Division St, Neenah, WI the second week of May.  Exact date and time to be determined pending the return of Eric’s ashes.

Mary J. Bradley - November 09, 1928 - March 14, 2022

Departed: 03/14/2022 (Neenah)
Obituary Preview: Mary Jane (Degen) Bradley was born November 9, 1928 in Burlington, WI.  She passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2022 after a beautiful weekend spent surrounded by loved ones.  She maintained her infamous spark and sense of humor until her dying day, teasing and telling stories and joking until her final hours.  Her radiant personality was a true gift to all who knew her.
Mary was an incredibly strong, independent, lively and adventurous person her entire life. From her early years living on a farm during the Great Depression, Mary made the best of every part of her life.  During her single years, she worked as a secretary at various companies in Milwaukee, travelled the country by train with her sister Joan and was a very active member of the Vagabond Ski Club, which is how she met her husband, Red.
Red was a handsome young widower with four children and co-owned the supper club Red ‘n ‘Eds in Marinette, WI.  Mary always said it wasn’t Red, but rather his young son, Tim who truly won her over when he asked her to dance one night at the Club.  Red & Mary soon married, and she gracefully and enthusiastically stepped into the role of mother to his four children, followed soon after by four more.
From that point on, life was defined by family – traveling, camping and skiing together eventually lead to a growing family including many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family gatherings (always including “friends who felt like family” – you know who you are!) were commonplace.  The Bradley household was always known for good food, strong drinks and its ever-welcoming aura.
After Red passed in 2001, Mary remained active with her many hobbies – gardening, bird watching, golfing, baking pies, knitting, traveling and spending time with friends and family.  In 2004, she moved to Neenah to be closer to family, and there she made many wonderful friends and became an active volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul in Neenah.  This volunteer work quickly became a passion that lasted 10+ years – she was still working on volunteer projects up until her final weeks.
Mary will forever be remembered as so many wonderful things to so many people – she touched each of our lives in unique, important and incredibly memorable ways.  As one of her nieces said, “Mary was the Betty White of the family”.  She is preceded in death by her husband Red, sons Pat and Tim, son-in-law Bill Maddock and her 4 siblings.  She is survived by her son Michael (Bonnie) of Chamblee, GA, Rory Maddock, Antioch, CA, Bridget (Jesse) Sorenson of Neenah, Kelly Bradley of Neenah, Tom (Stephanie) Bradley of Benecia, CA, and Jedd (Renee) Bradley of Green Bay.  She leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Fredric W. Reichel - January 12, 1933 - February 14, 2022

Departed: 02/14/2022 (Neenah)
Obituary Preview: Fredric “Fritz” Reichel, age 89, of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022. Fritz was born January 12, 1933 in Neenah son of the late Fred and Elsie (Gaudian) Reichel.
Fritz graduated from Neenah High School in 1951. He then married his wife Betty Schuelke of 68 years in July of 1953. They were the first couple to be wed at the newly built Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha. Since 1998, he and Betty have been members of St. Mark Lutheran church in Symco. After a 1 week honeymoon, he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Leonardwood, MO. Then during the Korean War he was sent to Germany with the 6th Armored Division and was an electrician's helper. When he returned home he worked for Abraham Carpet and Drapery until 1966 when he started his own business called Superior Carpet Service which he ran for 42 years. He was well known in the Fox Valley for his exceptional workmanship and silver work vans. He installed carpet for many stores including Jandreys, Pranges, Gimbels, and Marshall Fields. He also worked part time as a courier for Associated Bank until retirement. In 1990 he (with help!) built their retirement home on their 85 acre hunting property outside of New London that they bought in 1966. This new house took the place of the old green cabin he called "The Shack". He sang in the choir at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Neenah and was also a soloist for many weddings. It came natural to him as he never learned how to read music. He also loved to go to the Hodag and play guitar and sing around the campfire. He was a Western history buff and enjoyed watching Gunsmoke (Ms. Kitty) and reading Louis L'Amour books. He and Betty also spent some winters in Yuma, AZ and it made him feel like he was part of the Wild West. He and Betty liked to go to parades and for Sunday drives, especially anywhere there was live music so they could dance. He and Betty were the cutest couple and an attraction on the dance floor anywhere they went! Then again it may have been the bath in Polo cologne he took before they went out? His side hobby was to be a professional bullshitter while out on the town too. They had Shake-O-Day at the Land which was popular with friends, family, and visitors. In 1986 he had a life changing experience and had to have an emergency Ostomy that he dealt with the rest of his life. Fritz was an avid duck and deer hunter and general outdoorsman. He never missed Opening Day of duck season in his life with or without a gun! His hunting days were cut short though in 2000 when he had a pacemaker inserted and the Dr's said the recoil of a gun could tear the wires out. He was proud of his Korean Veteran status, and in 2013, he and Paul were fortunate enough to go on the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington, DC. which was a very powerful experience! In 2010, he and Betty turned the Land over to the kids in order to protect it from the state. It was contingent on getting healthcare assistance out in the swamp for as long as needed. Well that time came last March when Fritz and Betty both went into assisted living in Neenah. It took a lot of trust for them to sign the land over but it will be cherished forever !!! Later in life, he couldn't remember what he had for breakfast but while riding around to appointments or whatever, he could tell you every house he installed carpet in.
Fritz is survived by his wife Betty, his children: Debra Reichel, Julie (Joe) McIlhone, LeAnn (Drew A.) Amond and Paul (Mandy) Reichel. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Drew P. Amond (fiancé Casey) and Callie Amond and a brother, Ronald (Chris) Reichel. Fritz was preceded in death by his step-mother, Leona Reichel, five sisters, Ruth, Esther, Marian, Evelyn and Lois and an infant twin brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors Team following services. Masks are encouraged. Memorials may be sent to: St. Mark Lutheran Church, N7534 Church St., Manawa, WI 54949
A big THANK YOU goes out to all the healthcare professionals that have helped out over the years! Now that Dad is in the big duck blind in the sky, he always had one tip to give....... "Never piss into the wind" !!! Rest in peace Old Fart.......

Alvin Herbert Adams - April 03, 1933 - January 30, 2022

Departed: 01/30/2022 (Neenah)
Obituary Preview: On Sunday, January 30, 2022, Alvin Herbert Adams, 88 years young, passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side in Neenah, WI. Al (Sonny to his family) was born April 3rd, 1933, to Leonard and Ruth (Sherpitis) Adams in Bagley Michigan. He graduated from Stephenson High School in 1951 and on June 11th, 1952, married his high school sweetheart Shirley (Laurin). They moved to Neenah Wisconsin where together they raised 5 children and made countless memories.
Al was hired as a basic lab chemist at the Bergstrom Paper Company. Through hard work and smarts, he retired 43 years later as a “Senior Process Engineer.” Al was a leader in the Boys Brigade, active in Boy Scouts, and was a Director of the Bergstrom Paper Credit Union for many years. He was an avid ice fisherman, and his children still remember fishing with dad in the shanty as a childhood highlight! He made everything fun. Al also ushered at St Gabriel’s Catholic Church and was particularly proud of the paddle wheel he built for the beer tent, used at the church picnic every year. He was a talented woodworker building anything from a child’s rocker to an entire set of kitchen cabinets. Later in life, he turned to wood carving, and we are left with many pieces, from walking canes, lifelike birds and fish to relief images carved into small logs to remember him by.  His superb wine making abilities can be attested to by all of his children (whether he was aware of our sampling or not…).  In the summers he loved family camping and would reign supreme over campfire breakfasts. After retirement Al and Shirley spent a month every summer as camp hosts at High Cliff State Park. The very year Al retired he and Shirley bought a big camper and headed south to check out Paradise Park in Harlingen Texas. They liked it enough to buy a unit there and proceeded to make many dear friends during the 18 years they were snowbirds. A love for country music and watching shows in Branson Mo. on their way home every spring was a highlight of the trip. Al knew how to have fun and enjoy the simple things in life. He had a vast repertoire of jokes and laughing with friends and family was a favorite pastime. Al was a proud owner and loyal Green Bay Packer fan who really WAS at the “Ice Bowl!” Family time often involved a Sunday game and dads chili.
Al loved all his grandchildren who remember fondly the smell of his workshop, sweeping up (or spreading around) his sawdust, eating his homemade waffles (but only if you arrived at 5 a.m.) and all his funny stories. He will be deeply missed by us all.
Al was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Shirley (Laurin) Adams; his brother Lenny (Marvel) Adams; his sister Ruthie (Larry) Vanderaa; and his son-in-law Marcus (Lynn Adams) Braun.
Al is survived by his five children: Lynn Adams; Cheryl (David Krueger) Adams; Dean (Sherrill) Adams; Shelly Veillieux; and Patty (Ron) Hirn. Al is further survived by his grandchildren: Tyler; Claire; Ben; Sam; Grayson; Skylar; Zachary and Austin; great-grandchildren: Thoryn; Ahsha; Banks; and Al’s siblings Mick (Carol) Adams and Roxanne (Dave) Leiphart. Al will also be missed by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and Reiko Spranger, his loving companion, who shared his life for the last seven years.
In lieu of a funeral the family will be having a private celebration of life later this year. Al’s family would enjoy hearing memories and stories shared through his obituary page at www.kesslerfh.com.
The family would like to thank all the professional caregivers who attended to dad through his last months. The entire staff at New Perspective Island Shores Assisted Living in Neenah, where dad made incredible friends during his short stay, were very caring, kind and supportive in every way. Special thanks also to the Theda Care Hospice Team for their exceptional love and compassion during a very difficult time. You eased dads’ journey immensely. Thank you all.
