Nikki Natasha Long - April 22, 1983 - April 01, 2024

Departed: 04/01/2024 (Kernersville)
Obituary Preview: Mrs. Nikki Long, 40, of Kernersville passed away on April 1, 2024 at her home in Kernersville. Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Michael Stone and Donna Markham and wife of David Long.
To the world, Nikki was an extremely smart woman that believed in working hard. Nikki graduated from UNCG with her bachelor’s degree and later from Pfeiffer University with her master's of business administration. She was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Nikki was a gifted business woman and excelled in every job role ever presented to her.
To her family, Nikki was a loving daughter, sister, a reliable friend and an awesome wife; but the role she was extraordinarily fitted for and cherished the most was that of mother. She loved her girls with all her heart. She spent most of her free time at softball fields cheering on and pushing our girls to be the best versions of themselves during games, or being out with them helping them practice to be better.
When she wasn’t at the softball field, she was working on crafts and making earrings with her girls. She did all this with a smile on her face. Honestly, there weren’t many times you could find Nikki without a smile on her face. Her smile would fill a room.
She was a pusher: often pushing people outside of their comfort zones and past what they thought they could do themselves.
There weren’t many things Nikki wasn’t good at; however, keeping plants alive was definitely a struggle for her. Nadia wanted to make sure everyone knew that.
Nikki is survived by her loving husband, Mr. David Long; her children, Aaliyah Long and Nadia Long; her parents, Michael Stone and Donna Markham; her in-laws, David and Cynthia Long; her sisters, Essie Markham, Nicole Markham, and Sharon Stone; her aunt, Sherry Hackney; and her many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Essie Markham and Willie and Mildred Stone; and her uncles, Aaron Stone and Timothy Stone.
The family will receive friends at Reynolda Church Kernersville, 367 W Bodenhamer St, Kernersville, NC 27284 on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 2:00PM - 3:00PM. Why are obituaries important?
