Obituary Preview: Nancy L. Conlin of Belmont, MA passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2024 at the age of 70, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania in 1953 and had great affinity for her Philly roots. She attended The Pennsylvania State University, and then Boston University School of Law. She was a practicing lawyer in Boston for over 35 years and formed special bonds with various people wherever she worked, including Mintz Levin, Colonial Mutual Funds, Sun Life Financial, Plymouth Rock Assurance and State Street Bank and Trust Company. In retirement, she became a Lecturer at BU Law School in the LLM program and found great joy in teaching and her students. Nancy loved the game of baseball and was a loyal Red Sox fan. She held Red Sox season tickets for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and the extensive travel and exploration she did with her daughter.
Nancy was a one-of-a-kind human. Exceptionally intelligent, blazingly strong and resilient, and fun-loving with a beautiful heart. She was the epitome of a mother and lived her life for her daughter.
Nancy’s friends and family are spread far and wide. Paul is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his beloved dog and best friend, Taz.
Paul was a practicing lawyer in Arlington and Lexington for many years before finishing his professional career in the Woburn District Court. He enjoyed taking long walks around Arlington. Paul also took great pride in having a well manicured lawn and backyard to enjoy reading anything and everything.
Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington, Wednesday, May 1st from 4-7PM. Born and raised in Salemme, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Gandolfo) and Philip Muraca. Grace was preceded in death by her siblings, Francesca (Muraca) Brunetta, Josephine, Anna, Michael, Salvatore, Gaspar and Salvatore Muraca. Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Pellegrino and loving mother of Josephine ‘JoAnne’ Curran and her husband David of Arlington. Cherished “Nonna” of Jessica and Amanda Curran. Grace was the sister-in-law of the late John Pellegrino, late Joseph and Frances Pellegrino, Carol Pellegrino and late husband Frank Pellegrino, Frances Amari and late husband Robert Amari. She is also survived by many generations of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Wanting to make a better life for herself, on June 16, 1953, at the age of 26 with only four bags, Grace left her family to come live in the United States. She arrived by ship (Vulcania) on June 29, 1953 and her new life began. While she lived with her aunt in the North End, not only did Grace get her citizenship but she also put herself through sewing school and worked as a stitcher for various clothing factories sometimes working at two different places on the same day. In due time she saved enough money to purchase a home in Arlington where she lived for many years. During her spare time, aside from cooking, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and decorating. Grace also loved planting flowers and spending time with her granddaughters.
Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington, Saturday, May 4th from 9-11AM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 51 Medford St. Arlington on Saturday, May 4th at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington. Diane was caring and nurturing, and was dedicated to her family, and cherished her grandchildren. She was creative and enjoyed writing and poetry. She studied with the Institute of Children’s Literature. She loved playing tennis, skiing, snowmobiling, and boating with her family and friends. The world will be a lot more lonely without her bright smile and giving heart, she will be deeply missed.

Loving mother of Patricia Curry and her husband Robert of Waltham, William Trainor and his wife Karen of Cambridge, Edward Trainor and his late wife Margaret of Tewksbury, and the late John J. Trainor, Sr. and his late wife Joanne. Cherished grandmother of Sharon, Bobby, Diane, John, Kelly, Stephanie, Billy, Thomas, Meaghan, Patrick, and the late Michael. Proud great grandmother of fourteen. She was predeceased by her four brothers and her one sister. Rita is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Rita worked at the Star Market in Porter Square for over 50 years. She was an avid Bingo player, and she loved doing puzzles in her spare time. She enjoyed watching the Boston Sports Teams, but she especially loved her Red Sox. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Visiting hours will be held at St. Camillus’ Church, 1185 Concord Turnpike, Arlington, on Tuesday, April 30th from 10AM to 12PM. Stephen L. Murphy - March 02, 1942 - April 23, 2024

Obituary Preview: Stephen Leo Murphy was born in Winchester, Massachusetts on March 2nd, 1942, to parents Henry and Helen Murphy. He was the youngest, born after brothers Robert and Donald. He attended local schools, and then attended Texas A&M University. During his time there, he served in the Army Corps of Cadets and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Architectural Construction in 1964. He went on to serve in the US Army as a Company Commander in Germany from 1967-1969, receiving an honorable discharge.
He met his wife, Susan (Johnson) Murphy, through mutual friends and they married on July 4, 1971, at St. Eulalia’s Church in Winchester, MA. Daughter Sharon was born in 1972, followed by Brenda in 1974, and Kristen in 1975.
In 1977 Stephen earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Northeastern University. His career as an executive in construction management spanned many states and hundreds of commercial projects, and his work took the family from Massachusetts to New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and ultimately to California in 1984. He was part of industry associations and enjoyed serving on the Town of Danville Planning Commission and Finance Committee, as well as the neighborhood HOA. In each new community, Stephen and his family found a local Catholic parish in which to celebrate their faith.
Stephen loved sailing, and always made time for exercise, be it running, biking, or playing in the church’s adult basketball program. He enjoyed traveling and visiting National Parks and museums. He had a love of gardening and took pleasure in working in the yard.
When he retired in 2009, Stephen and Susan moved to Rancho Murieta, CA to be close to their daughters and their families. He found much joy in forming close bonds with each of his seven grandchildren and passed along the importance of education to them.
Stephen volunteered in many different capacities in Rancho Murieta: American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Boy Scouts, the Rancho Murieta Maintenance Committee, and at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Henry Murphy, and his brother, Donald Murphy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Murphy; daughter Sharon Dodson (John); daughter Brenda Carmichael (Blake); daughter Kristen Boudreaux (Chris); and grandchildren Jason Dodson, Alexis Dodson, Anne Carmichael, Devin Dodson, Owen Carmichael, Anthony Boudreaux, and Matthew Boudreaux; brother Robert Murphy (Joanne).

Obituary Preview: John Joseph Condon, 85, of Deerfield Beach, FL and Falmouth MA, formerly of Arlington, MA, passed away on April 21, 2024. He was born on April 20, 1939, in New Haven, CT. John was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend.
John Condon was someone who could charm easily. An avid mathematician, he enjoyed calculating statistics to predict the outcome of horse races. With file cabinets full of results dating back to the 1970s, he meticulously analyzed past winners to forecast the performance of future races. All year long, John looked forward to his annual trips to Saratoga with his buddies from the Elks in Falmouth. But most of all, he cherished his time at the Cape with family and friends, entertaining in his kitchen and socializing over a beer.
In his professional life, John was an Electrical Engineer for GTE. He was part of the team that invented airplane telephones, leaving a lasting impact on the field.
John served in the US Army Reserve from 1961 to 1965. He is fond of his time served.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Margo A. Condon, and his parents, James T. Condon and Helen (Houlihan) Condon. He is survived by his son, James "Matt" Condon, daughter-in-law Marie Walsh Condon, grandson Seamus Condon, and granddaughter Keira Condon, all of Arlington. He is also survived by a sister Margaret Gagne of New Haven CT, a sister-in-law Jennifer Downing of King of Prussia, PA, a nephew Greg Konigsbauer and family of Everegreen, CO and special friend Laura Bruno of West Palm Beach, Fl.

Norma was a lifelong resident of Cambridge MA. She was an accomplished accountant and worked with her husband in the family business at Highland Farms until they both retired.
Norma loved spending time at their summer place in Oquinquit Maine. Norma enjoyed tennis, golf and the lunches that followed. She loved being around family especially her grandchildren. An avid traveler, she enjoyed her many adventures over the years.
Norma lived her faith she was a lifelong member of the Saint John the Evangelist Church in North Cambridge. Graduating both Elementary and High School there as well.
Norma is the beloved wife of Richard E. Dunn Jr. Devoted mother of Patricia Dunn Capuccio and her husband Stephen P. Capuccio, of Cambridge MA, William Joseph Dunn and his wife Ann Dunn, of Acton MA, Richard E. Dunn III and his husband Paul Guarino, of Stuart, Florida. James Joseph Dunn and his wife Joan Dunn, of Quincy MA.
She is loving Grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, George Slattery, and his wife, Constance of Hyde Park. She was predeceased by her brother, William Callinan, and Her sister, Brenda Callinan. She is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Azulay and his wife Jamie of Rochester, PA, Robert Azulay of Medford, Lauren, Cameron, and Kylie Lamoureux of Tewksbury and her great-grandchildren Jonathan, Grace, and Daniel Azulay of Rochester, PA. Anna came from a large family. As the oldest child, she often helped care for her younger siblings. Her kind heart and nurturing qualities made her a person people loved to be around.
Her home was always welcoming, and she encouraged family and friends to drop in for coffee or a meal anytime. She was always ready with a listening ear and comforting words. She was caring, generous, and always genuine.
Ann was lucky enough to know the meaning of true love. She met her soul mate at a young age and married at the age of eighteen. Their love spanned 60 years and was a testament that friendship, love, and loyalty are everything. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and great-grandmother who was selfless, always there to celebrate accomplishments and victories and provide comfort in difficult times. To all of her children, she was a loving Mother and a best friend, providing endless love, support, and guidance.
Before retiring, Anna was a Daycare provider, operating a Daycare out of her home. She cared for many children over the years and loved that her career allowed her to be home for her own children. Family bonds were important to her, and she loved it when she was called upon to help care for the children of family and friends. She especially loved the special bonds created with nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Wherever Ann went, she made friends. She cherished the many relationships she formed over the years. Some of her best memories were made with her partner in crime and her best friend, Joyce. She enjoyed spending winters at her home in Delray Beach, where they enjoyed a community of great friends. She also found comfort in spending time with her furry friend, Benny, who never left her side. She will be missed deeply and dearly by many.

She is survived by her sons James Reardon and Gary Reardon, her daughters-in-law Meghan Reardon and Laura Reardon, her grandchildren Kathryn, Brianna, Kendall, Brock, Kyle, Alec, Anya, and her great-grandchildren Patrick, Samantha, Olivia, and Caleb. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James F. Reardon.

In the USA, he specialized in Conflict Mediation Techniques at Harvard University and in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University.
His professional life included teaching at the Seminario Maior of Angra do Heroísmo and Seminario Colegio Ponta Delgada, Azores before immigrating to the USA in 1971. Here, he was a counselor at Cambridge Public Schools, a practicum supervisor at Lesley and Harvard Universities, and a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Boston, from which he retired in 2019.
His contributions extended beyond academia. He played a pivotal role as president of the organizing committee of the first Congress of Portuguese in America and as the president of the Board of Directors of COPA (now MAPS, Massachusetts Alliance for Portuguese Speakers), which engages in various impactful community initiatives and services. He was a prolific writer, regularly contributing to Portuguese newspapers in the USA and in Portugal. He authored several books, including A Gente dos Açores: Imigração e Religiosidade (1976), one of the first three Portuguese books selected by the US Library of Congress for translation into Braille.

His loving family also includes his precious daughter Cristina Serpa Roof, son-in-law Bryan Roof, and his beloved grandchildren, Nolan, Layla, and Tanner. After retirement, he highly treasured his life as a father and grandfather (Vovô). He loved going for swims, reading, writing, traveling and taking walks. He was a family man, often spending time with his grandchildren and telling funny stories about his childhood that would always make everyone around him laugh. Tanner wrote, "Vovô was a great man, always having a special place in our hearts, lost but never forgotten.”
A memorial service with Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, in St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge St, Winchester, MA.
