Marcella Falcomer - April 05, 1926 - April 08, 2024

Departed: 04/08/2024 (West Nyack)
Obituary Preview: Marcella (Cicuto) Falcomer passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024, three days after celebrating her 98th birthday and meeting her first great grandchild. Throughout the week, she was surrounded by her adoring family, until her final breath with her daughter Stephanie by her side. Marcella, fondly known as Nonna & Mamma was a remarkable woman who lived an incredible life. She is survived by her two loving daughters; Stephanie Falcomer & Silvia Henry, five cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Robert, Frank, Maria and P, spouses Kathryn and Daniel, first great grandchild Jaxson, sister Maria Tolfo, son-in-law Wayne, as well as, beloved nephews, nieces and cousins in Italy, Canada and N.J. Marcella was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Anthony Falcomer, who she remained devoted to throughout their 57 years of marriage. Marcella was a wise and compassionate woman with a determined spirit whose deep love of her family never wavered. She emigrated from Italy in 1955 with a dream to build a better life. She was so proud of being an American and loved this country. She worked tirelessly, saving every penny and modeling the values of hard work and commitment. We used to joke that you could get out of any family obligation by simply saying, “Sorry, Nonna, I have to work” Marcella was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was an artist in the true sense of the word and valued the arts, music and fashion. She was meticulous with her own clothing and jewelry, embodying the elegance of Italian culture. She was a seamstress, home decorator and ultimately a self-taught professional pastry chef. She taught us all how to prepare meals that were both delicious and beautiful. She valued presentation and aesthetics when decorating a home, setting a table, putting flowers in a vase, cooking a meal or creating an exquisite wedding cake. Her gifts are legendary and her lessons unforgettable. Marcella was a mother who loved her daughters, grandchildren and extended family with the fierceness of a mother lion. Although she often followed a tough love agenda, she had a heart of gold and a beautiful spirit that lead with kindness and compassion. There was no question that we were loved and cherished beyond measure. She valued education and the privilege of being a student and was very proud that both daughters and all 5 grandchildren were college graduates. Marcella was a loyal friend who knew how to listen and encourage. She shared her wisdom and life lessons to help those closest to her find peace. She will always be remembered in her neighborhood community as an extraordinary woman, a pillar of strength, an artist and a compassionate once in a lifetime friend. Although the passing of a beloved mother and grandmother, relative and friend can feel like our hearts have broken open, we know Nonna would want us to be strong and continue to live our best lives. “Stop crying and have a cup of coffee” she would say while grabbing us a tissue and giving us a hug
