Obituary Preview: James Rudell Brown, 91, of Madisonville, KY, formerly of Providence, KY, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN.
He was born July 2, 1930 in Providence, KY to the late Grover Cleveland Brown and Clara Curneal Brown. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Ellen Johnston Brown; his recent wife, Margaret Tinsley Brown; his daughter, Pamela Faye Taylor; and siblings, Lucille, Margaret, Fanny Earl, Johnny C., Rudene, and Wilson.
Mr. Brown worked at Dotiki Mine as a section foreman. He was also an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a past member of Diamond Baptist Church, past commander at the VFW, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Providence. He loved fishing and competed in many fishing tournaments with many trophies to show for them.
He is survived by one son, James L. (Jocelyn) Brown of Albion, IL; eight grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday September 1, 2021 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home - Providence Chapel with his son officiating. Burial will follow at Fox Cemetery in Providence.    Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 10:00 A.M. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.    Pallbearers will be the grandsons.

She was born February 27, 1926 in Providence to the late Denver Kelley and Ruby Gold Kelley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Vaughn; three brothers, Carrol, Bobby, and Jerry Kelley; daughter, Sandra Kaye Denton; and grandson, Joshua Woodall. Katherine enjoyed playing cards with her group at Palmer Place, gardening, quilting, and animals. She was a great cook. She was a great wife and mother. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Foreman of Louisville, KY and Susan Taylor of Hawaii; two sons, Sean (Angie) Vaughn of Owensboro and Steve (Cindy) Vaughn of Big Clifty, KY; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 26, 2021 with Bro. Ralph Alexander officiating at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Providence. John and Dodie Boswell in Providence.   He was a member of White Oak General Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 29 years. He served as the trial commissioner for Webster County District Court and on the Providence City Council at various times. He enjoyed his time as assistant coach for Webster County Trojan Football.    He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susie; two daughters, Joy (Greg) Shouse of Providence and Jill (Jack) Morgan of Madisonville; “Granddaddy” to grandsons, Justin and Micah Morgan; and granddaughters, Kimberly (Brent) Seaton and Kristen (Colby) Pryor; “Great” to great grandchildren, Sadie and Jude Pryor; and “Lala” to great grandchildren, Perri and Myles Seaton. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters, Pat (Kenneth) Presley, Angie (Laddie) Pride, Johnny (Kay) Boswell, Alan (Linda) Boswell, Tim (Jacqueline) Boswell, and Kevin (Allison) Boswell; along with several nieces and nephews.    Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Jason Lee Ware.    Larry loved bowling, traveling, fishing, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, UK basketball and ordering people around. He graduated from culinary arts school at Breckinridge Job Corp. He was a member of the former Church of the Philadelphian Christians where he served as an usher. Larry helped raise many children in Providence. He graduated from Rosenwald High School in Providence, KY. He worked 10 years at Westing House in St. Louis, MO. He worked in the coal mines for 19 years in Morganfield, KY. He was also a supervisor at Pioneer Plastic in Dixon, KY for 10 years. He also worked 4 years at Lear in Madisonville, KY. He also served in the US Army for 2 years.
He was a member of Marable Temple Church of God in Christ, City of Refuge, where he was the Sunday School Superintendent, a trustee, a Deacon, and sang in the choir.
Twyman was united in marriage on December 31, 1960 to Melva Curry, to this union, three children were born; Keith, Denise, and Tina Boyd. He loved his family and had a loving and open heart for all of them. He will be deeply missing by many.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Melva Boyd of Providence, KY; his siblings; children, Keith Boyd, Tina Boyd of Providence, Denise (Earl) Singleton of LaVerge, TN; his aunt, Delores (Jimmy) Wolfork; his best friend, Wesley Clifton Morrow; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Marable Temple Church of God in Providence. Burial will follow at Williams Lawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his life partner, Lisa Garrett; five children, Dakota Coomer of Dawson Springs, KY, Travis Coomer of Morganfield, KY, and Hunter Coomer of Poole, KY; Jared (Allie) Garrett of Madisonville and Amber Garrett of Dixon, KY; father, Howard Douglas Coomer, Sr.; three brothers, Jeff (Donna) Coomer of Diamond, KY, Howard (Mary) Coomer, Jr. of Providence, and Charles (Amanda) Marks of Nortonville, KY; one sister, Janet (Jeff) Marks Morse of Providence; four grandchildren, Adyline, Liam, Arie, and Hayden; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Taylor was born September 5, 1937, in Blackford, KY to the late Hoyt Utley and Lillian Martin Utley. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Jones and Sue Branson; one brother, JD Utley and one great-grandson, Andrew Luffman.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James “Jim” Robert Taylor Sr.; one daughter, Robin Taylor of Providence; two sons, Jimmy (Catherine) Taylor of Victorville, CA and Darrell Taylor of Providence; eight grandchildren, Cassie Alexander, Nick Hardrick, Dylan Taylor, Jordyn Rohror, Megan Walter, Brandy Bybee, Jacob McCain and Joseph McCain.; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was a Jehovah’s Witness. She worked for two drug stores in Providence. She loved her coffee, her jewelry, shopping, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a woman with a heart of gold and to know her was to love her and be loved in return.

Obituary Preview: Tina Louise Litchfield, 46, gained her angels wings and went home to be with the Lord on January 20th, 2021 surrounded by her family. Ms. Litchfield is survived by her son, Jaden Litchfield, her mother, Judy Litchfield, her nephew, Joshua Ryan, sisters, Teresa Litchfield, and Tonya Bard (Russell) and best friend, Adina Mattix (Kevin) Tina was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She would help anyone in need, no matter the time of day. Tina loved helping people so much that she decided to study social work in hopes that she could touch many more lives. She proudly graduated in December of 2020, weeks before she would gain her wings. Tina loved the ocean, family trips to the mountains, and making memories with people she loved. She was the protector; the strong one; the dependable one. Once you gained her heart, she would strive to give you the world. She enjoyed the simple things in life; like staying home and watching her favorite cartoon Scooby-Doo with her son. She loved God and would talk to anyone and everyone about him. Her faith was strong in the Lord even up until her final days on Earth. Although we are sad and a piece of our family puzzle is missing, we are rejoicing knowing that she is in Heaven. Until we meet again…this is not “goodbye” but “see you later.” We love you, Beaner!
Graveside services will be held privately at Green Grove Cemetery in Providence, KY. Burial will follow in the cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Diloris Mooney and Arsula (Sue) Johnson, brothers John Mooney and Robert E. (Tom Tom) Mooney.   He is survived by his daughter Patricia Esters (Dewayne), sisters Celestine M Hutcherson (Startis) Doris A Morrow and Iris Hopson (George) brothers Willie Carol Mooney (Joanne), Monte Chris Lindle, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
