Paul Harrington Wieder - January 28, 1929 - December 27, 2022

Departed: 12/27/2022 (Sarasota)
Obituary Preview: Paul H. Wieder, born January 28, 1929, in Buffalo, New York, passed away peacefully in his Sarasota, Florida home on December 27, 2022. Paul was the first of three children of Mildred K. and Paul H. Wieder, Sr. of Alden, New York. He served in The United States Army before a long career with Sears, from which he retired in 1984. He and his wife Joan decided they had suffered through enough Buffalo winters and headed for sunny Sarasota a few years later.
As the young whippersnapper of Windward Isle Mobile Home Park, he quickly became a popular and dependable fixture in the community. He was often seen out-and-about, trimming hedges or running coffee hour. When he wasn’t repairing something around the house (his house or a neighbor’s) or managing events or Bingo, he enjoyed time on the water with a fishing pole in one hand and a cold one in the other.
Those who knew Paul will remember him as a loyal and dependable friend, neighbor, father, grandfather and husband. He is predeceased by his brother, Ronald Wieder and his wife of 67 years, Joan. He is survived by his sister, Jackie Weeks (William), his daughter Debbie Weaver and son-in-law Mark Weaver, daughter Dorie Belanger, son Ken Wieder, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Paul will be buried in the Veterans National Cemetery on Clark Rd in Sarasota on Monday, 1/30/22 at 1 pm. There will be a memorial gathering, with cake & coffee, at the Windward Isle Clubhouse immediately following the military service at the cemetery.
