Mrs. Cole was born in Lawrence County, Alabama.  Lurie was a tiny woman with a big heart. She was a precious soul who would do anything for her family. Lurie was a mother but not just to her six children, she would open her home for anyone. Lurie spent her life on different career paths, from being a seamstress, bartender, to flexing her muscles doing construction. She was a woman of many talents. Lurie loved to sing Karaoke , One of her favorites to sing, was Coal Miners Daughter.  Pretty much any song by Loretta Lynn, or Pasty Cline, was her favorite. Whether she was singing one of her favorite songs, going to bingo or just spending time with her Grand children & Great grandchildren , she was always so full of life. Lurie was a woman of adventure! For anyone who met her she left a impact on their life.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, John and Dessie Tidwell, her daughter Kim Tidwell, her Grandson Braedin Cole, her brothers Tootsie, Ray, Bud, BT and sisters Bobby Jean, Evelyn, and Dinky.
Lurie is survived by her children Vickie Hubbert, Jackie Hubbert(Christy) , William Cole(Brenda) , Darren Cole( Bridget), Bradley Cole(Ashley). She has 14 grandchildren , 11 great grandchildren, her two sisters Edie Standridge and Sally Wilbanks. The family extends a thank you the nurse Katie for the help she gave to Mrs. Cole in the time she cared for her and to everyone who helped with her on her journey thank you.. Lurie will be missed but never forgotten and always in our hearts!

Mr. Monzell Gholston entered into life on August 17, 1981 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Dorris Gholston Davenport and Ezell McClain. He departed this earthly life March 10, 2022 in Huntsville, Alabama.
He accepted Christ at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek under the leadership of Pastor Darius Holden, where he remained a faithful member until his death. He was a graduate of Hazlewood High School class of 2000. He was well known in the area and will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorris Gholston Davenport.

Ronnie Elgin Terrell passed away March 6, 2022. Ronnie was a life-long resident of Lawrence County and a believer in the Lord and was of the Baptist faith. He was born January 8, 1960.
Ronnie was a devoted fan of the Auburn Tigers and loved being a farmer. He worked as a farmer on various farms for more than 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Mattie Terrell; brothers Paul, Neal, Bobby, Edwin, David, Donnie and sister Margie Hill.
He is survived by 14 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews and 13 great, great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for March 20, 2022 at 2:00pm. Service will be held at Jackson Memory Funeral Home in Town Creek, Alabama. Burial will be at Shady Grove cemetery in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

“Buck” was baptized at an early age. He was saved and baptized at St. Peter Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. (Cedar Lake) He was skilled in carpentry and masonry. He helped to build golf courses and stadiums throughout Tennessee. His last ten years of employment were at the Sumner County Administration Building in Gallatin, TN where he performed janitorial services. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He took a special interest in the sport of golf. He would often challenge and invite family/friends on the golf course. He enjoyed playing with his son Donald, brother James and close friend Charlie Heston. He also loved to take trips to Decatur, AL to spend time with loved ones.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Willis Wilkerson and Vestella Cummings. Siblings; Hildred Booker, Zet Booker, Newlyn Booker, Harry Van Booker Jr., Eddie Booker Sr., Wanda Elliot and Deborah Duke.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his beloved friend and partner for 41 years, Mozell Smith and her children, Kim, John, Michael and Gary of Nashville, TN. One son, Donald Ray Bailey (Karen Smith) of Decatur, AL. Grandchildren; Marcus Bailey, Brandon Bailey and Courtney Smith. Great Grandchildren; Milik Orr, Monica Bailey, Amari Bailey, Terrence Matthews, Olivia Bailey and Jaeshin Bailey all of Decatur, AL. Siblings; Estella Jackson, Dorothy McGinnis, Kateleen (Miles) Jackson, Bettye Jackson, Doris Morrow, Shirley Morrow, Mercie Powell, Phyllis Boulden, Karen Wilkerson, Yolanda McKelvey, Willis Wilkerson Jr., Elmer Wilkerson and James Wilkerson. Mary Martha Douglas, was born April 2, 1950 in Town Creek, AL. She was a coal minor and retired from Island Creek Coal. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Clay, KY.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Douglas, Sr. in 2012, two granddaughters Keyleigh and Saria Douglas in 2004 and a brother, James Allen.
Survivors include; one daughter, Shirley Miller, and one son Melvin Douglas, Jr. "Joe Joe" both of Wheatcroft, KY, three sisters Essie Lawrence, Courtland, AL, Nebo King of Sturgis, Yvonne Culprson of Chattanooga, TN, two brothers Richard Allen and Frank King both of Town Creek, AL. four grandchildren Faith Miller, Feather Miller, Filana Miller, Derrick Douglas, and three great-grandchildren Devontae, Kemaria, and Bryson Douglas.

The Beginning: Bryce Lewayne Lipscomb was born in Sheffield, Alabama on April 4th, 1964, to Clarence Edward and Margaret Louise Lipscomb. He was the oldest of five children and always bragged about being the oldest and best looking grandchild. Christian Journey:
Bryce accepted Christ at Mt. Zion M.B. Church at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Jessie Little. Bryce served at Mt. Zion in many capacities which included, a choir member, the Superintendent of Sunday School, a deacon, an associate minister, and a youth pastor. He was the Pastor of Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Falkville, Alabama for five years. He was later called to Pastor First Missionary Baptist Church of his hometown, Town Creek, Alabama, in 2006 where he served faithfully for fifteen years until the Lord called him home. Under his leadership the Lord added to the Church, it grew spiritually and financially. The Lord gave Pastor Lipscomb a vision to build a Life Center and remodel the sanctuary which was dedicated to the Lord in 2010. Education Journey:
He graduated from Hazlewood High School in 1982. He served for two years at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He became a licensed minister in 1999 and an ordained minister in 2002, both under the leadership of Pastor Jessie Little. In 2011, he received a certificate of Bible Study from Huntsville Bible College, an Associate of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry in 2013, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry in 2016 and a Master of Ministry in Pastoral Studies in 2018.
Work Journey: Bryce joined the US Army as a young man at the age of 18. After an honorable discharge from the US Army, he was employed by the 3M Company and later transitioned to International Papers. While working at 3M and International Papers, he was well known. He was always willing to give a smile, a laugh, and some friendly advice, both solicited and unsolicited, with those famous words “it will work itself out.” After retiring, he served full-time in the ministry. Bryce will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered as an always stylish, joyous man of God who never seemed to age. He loved to cook, eat, and spend time with his grandchildren. He would always be ready with a scripture for your soul and a joke to make you laugh. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Lipscomb. Mrs. Gina Steward was born August 8, 1966, in Hamilton County, Tennessee to Eurma Jean Stanley Garner and George Edward Garner. She departed this life and gained her angel wings on January 6, 2022, at home after a brief illness.
Gina married the love of her life, Roderick Steward on September 20, 1985. She was a loving and caring wife for 36 years. She loved her family and would go the extra mile to take care of them. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Gina accepted Christ at the age of 12 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek. She later moved her membership to First Baptist Church in Town Creek where her husband attended. There she became a dedicated usher and Sunday School Teacher.
Gina graduated from Hazlewood High School in 1984. She then attended Shoals Community College and graduated in 1990 with an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems. Gina loved children and had a desire to be a teacher. So, she decided to pursue a career in education. She attended Athens State University and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2012. Gina continued her educational studies by attending West Alabama where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Special Education. She was employed for many years by Decatur Youth Services and later went on to work for Decatur City Schools. She was not only a teacher, but she was an advocate for all children.
Gina’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceeds the quantity of time she stayed here. She lived her life giving of herself to others and her legacy will live on in so many of us who have benefited from her warmth, kindness, concern, and love. Gina had a smile that would light up a room and she will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eurma Jean Stanley Garner and George Edward Garner. Her brother Spence Edward Garner and a God Sister, Robin Harris.

Annie Laura Young Posey’s faith became sight as she traded her birthplace & family farm home for her Heavenly Home on January 6th, 2022. Annie Laura recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Annie Laura is survived by two sons, Steve Posey (Karen) and Kenny Posey (Quitney); grandchildren Matthew (Haley), Jordan (Whitney), Caitlin Brown (Michael), Luke Byrd, Cassie Posey, Peyton Higdon (Brent), Cody Posey and Montana Hugaboom; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and over 55 years of Sunday School students. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh J. Posey; her parents, Cole Young, Sr. and Norene Jeffreys Young; her siblings, brother Dr. Cole Young, Jr, and her sister, Minnie Jean Briscoe.
As many already know, Annie Laura graduated from Hazlewood High School and Anderson’s Business College in Decatur, Alabama. She began farming with her husband in 1954. When other things might have slipped her mind, feeding the animals and doing the night work on the farm never did. She was THE original farming machine. Her motor ran all the time and she didn’t know the meaning of quit. She was a real “steel magnolia” and enjoyed many Saturdays at Janice’s Beauty Shop with her good friends Jane Knouff, Ann Todd, and Shelby Ellis or talking on the phone with cousins, Ramona Muston, Bobbie Sue Neal and Marjorie Lovell.  Annie Laura’s life was one of service to her family, friends and community. She served on the Rural Health Care Advisory Board, The Town Creek Library Board, The Lawrence County Cattlemen’s Cowbells, and the ALFA Women’s Leadership Committee, as well as many others. She was “as handy as a pocket on a shirt,” always finding ways to help those in need.
Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Greg Briscoe, her nephew will be an honorary pallbearer.
Her family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers Sarah Hurst, Kay Hallmark, Gayla Lewis, Liz Stewart; Diane Lawrence and Savannah Lindenmayer; and Dorothy and Heidi with Amedisys Hospice.
