Chopp, 99, of Sutersville, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born June 1, 1922 in Sutersville, a son of the late John and Barbara (Lesso) Chopp, Sr.  Andy was a 1941 graduate of Sewickley High School.  Prior to retirement he was employed by Consolidated Coal Company for over 40 years.  A life-long Catholic, he was a member of Holy Family Church, West Newton and its Holy Name Society.  He served as a sexton for the former St. Charles Church in Sutersville.  A man of great faith and prayer, he was a good and generous father to all.  Surviving are five children, Barbara Jarmon, Rita (Mike) Pruni, Coleen Martz, Terry (Rebecca) Chopp, and Brian (Deborah) DeClaudio; daughter-in-law, Paula DeClaudio; son-in-law, John Lubinsky; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Taylor) Chopp; his second wife, Margaret “Peg” (Massung) Chopp; children, Andy Chopp, Pamela Chopp, Wayne DeClaudio, and Kathy Lubinsky; a grandson; and sons-in-law, Cecil Jarmon and Roger Martz; siblings, John Chopp , Anna Huss, Mary Skutt, Irene Rozak, Joseph Chopp, George “Sarge” Chopp, Pauline Kezmah, Evelyn Chopp, Steve Chopp and Andrew Chopp.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday at the J. Obituary Preview: Eugene “Sid” DeBernardo, entered eternity on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.  He loved his religion.  He loved his family.  He loved his friends.  Gene is survived by his son, Craig of Perryopolis; his daughter, Gina of Adamsburg; brothers, Michael (Alexis) of West Newton and Anthony (Linda) of New Stanton. Obituary Preview: Tiffany (Landsperger) Lash, 45, of Wyano, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 17, 2022, with her loving husband, daughter, and mom and dad at her side, after a courageous lengthy seven year illness.  Her faith never wavered.  Heaven received a special angel.  She was born April 30, 1976 in Greensburg the beloved daughter of Jack and Sharon (Vilchek) Landsperger of West Newton.  The wife of Richard Lash and “Mom” to her precious daughter Rhiannon; also surviving are her grandmother, Priscilla Vilchek; in-laws; Robert and JoAnn Brim; and numerous special aunts, uncles and cousins; and three lifelong “Bestie Sisters”, Kellie Wilson, Chrissy Yuhas, and Angie Pocratsky.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Stephen Vilcheck and grandparents, Norman and Margaret Landsperger.  Tiffany was a member of First Baptist Church, West Newton, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.  She was a 1994 graduate of Yough High School and was employed for over 12 years at Equipment and Controls Inc. prior to her illness.  Tiffany enjoyed crocheting, reading, camping at Mountain Pines Campground, and especially had a love for music and spending time with her family and friends.  A very heartfelt thanks to all our prayer warriors, family, friends, and the Amedisys Hospice team, Robert, Veronica, Betsy & Leslie, who graciously loved us through this difficult journey – Forever Grateful.  As per her wishes, there will be no viewing or services at this time.  A celebration of Tiffany’s life will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the J. Obituary Preview: Frances M. “Fannie” (Zupanc) Tekavec, 98, of West Newton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and precious poodle, Daisy.  She was born March 26, 1923 in Yukon, a daughter of the late Frank and Justina (Zalakar) Zupanc.  Fannie lived a very active life and attended Holy Family Roman Catholic Church where she sang in the choir.  She also sang in the “Savica” Slovenian singers at Carnegie Music Hall, and played various instruments, especially her father’s button box.  An 80 year member of the SNPJ, where she enjoyed many activities, especially polkas, Slovene Fest, Pensioneers’ Week and the Slovenian radio program.  She was a proud Slovenian!  An excellent cook and baker, she was known for her bread, potica and sausage, and loved to crochet and garden.  Along with her husband, she was the owner and operator of Jack’s by the Tracks since 1956, and was then joined with her son, Jack, in running the business, finally retiring at the age of 96.   Surviving are her children, Jack, Sandra (Larry) Chopp and Patricia (Randy) Hesson, all of West Newton; grandchildren, Jack (Penny) and Jeff Tekavec, Danielle (Bob) Hitson, Jaimee (David) Greenawalt and Jeremy Hesson; great grandsons, Joseph and David Tekavec and Bobby and Nicholas Hitson; great great grandson Lucas; brother, Victor Sperotto; sisters-in-law, Jean, Reta and Betty; daughter-in-law, Janet Halle; and numerous nieces and nephews.   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob in 1986; grandsons, Larry Chopp, Jr and Joshua Hesson; siblings, Michael Evans, Edith Lovato, Frank and Fred Zupanc, Albina Makarky and Leveo Sperotto.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the J. Obituary Preview: Alvin Opachick, 85, went to be with the Lord, Sunday January 16, at Sacred Ground Hospice, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Alvin was born October 9, 1936 in Scott Haven, to Nick and Pauline (Govadich) Opachick.  Alvin worked for the Railroads for nearly 47 years, retiring as a Chief Train Dispatcher with CSX Corporation. During his decorated railroad career, Alvin was honored with the coveted CSX Employee Excellence Award presented by then CSX CEO Jack Snow, at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. Alvin was also an accomplished Home Builder and remodeler during his working years. After retirement from the Railroad, Alvin loved working part-time at Lowes, Orange Park Florida.  Alvin fully retired in Fleming Island Plantation, Florida before moving to Knoxville in 2016 to be closer to family. Alvin loved to cook, play golf, entertain friends early in his retirement, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids.  Alvin is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn (Radomsky) Opachick, and his many siblings. He is survived by his children, Gary and Hope (Levine) Opachick, Jack and Sonya (Smith) Opachick, and Scott and Cathy (Opachick) Reisfield. He is also survived 3 grandchildren and 7 extended family grandkids.   Friends will be received 9 -11 am Monday, at which time a service will be held, at the J. Demko, 47, of West Newton, died Sunday, January 9, 2022.  He was born January 16, 1974 in Pittsburgh, son of the late John and Judith (Peluchette) Demko.  Jason was a Vice President and Senior Tech Recruiter for Bank of NY Mellon, where he received the 2021 Male Ally of the Year award from the Women in Tech.  He was a graduate of Fox Chapel High School, Class of 1992 and served 12 years in the Marine Corps.  An avid hunter of deer and coyote, he also coached club, high school, and college soccer, and was a member of VFW Post 7812, West Newton.  Jason was part of the K-9 training for drug task forces in multiple counties and municipalities.  Surviving are two daughters, Allyson M. Demko of Allentown and Alexis N. Demko of Canonsburg; a grandson, Grayson P. Hadian; a sister, Terri (Jim) Demko Brown of McKinney, Texas; and his fiancée, Anita Lux, and her daughters, Emma M. Augustine and Alli J. Augustine.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Tracey Lee Demko.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday, with a service at 8 pm, at the J.
