Rev Paul Cox – A man of God, a Preacher of the Gospel who always put others first. Next to Christ, Rev Cox loved his family the most. He enjoyed sitting around talking about the Lord and playing games with his kids and their families. He was the happiest when all the family chaos was in full swing. Paul enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed trapsing around the desert until he was physically unable. Paul would take his son’s hunting and fishing and enjoyed the time showing them how to blow little birds out of the sky. Paul had a singular sense of humor. He enjoyed pulling pranks and practical jokes and especially liked when something would be pulled over on him. He loved one liner and had a way of delivery that would knock your socks off. If you could get him with a practical joke, he would get embarrassed and giggle like a little schoolgirl. (Ask Barbara about the gorilla costume). When it came to presents, he couldn’t keep a secret, he thought he could, but everyone always knew what they were getting. Paul was a storyteller. He loved to spin a yarn and when he spoke it was always softly and he always tried to impart wisdom to those around him. He was a researcher of all things, biblical and historical and he loved to be challenged. One of Paul’s favorite sayings was “For those who failed to remember the past are doomed to repeat it”. Some of the hobbies that Paul enjoyed: Art, painting and drawing. Collecting “EVERYTHING!” (Look out for a garage sale) and shooting “Duane” had several jobs outside of his ministry, one of those was working as a counselor for the sheriffs office. He said that the time counseling was his favorite position. He worked for Maricopa County Sheriff’s office for 18 years. As a husband he will be missed. For 58 years of marriage he has been a partner that can never be replaced. He was a stalwart rock and teacher for the family and the void he leaves can never be filled this side of heaven. We, his family, know that he is well and dancing with his family and friends in the presence of the Lord and we are sad and happy to know that he no longer suffers and has his legs again. He was husband, father, and friend. Goodbye for now see you on the “Other Side of Jordan”
