Departed: 04/15/2024 (Andrews)
Obituary Preview: Patrick “Bubba” Scott, 59, left the familiar asphalt highways and interstates to begin his grand new adventure on the open roads and byways of the heavens, on Monday, April 15, 2024, at his home in Andrews, North Carolina. He was born in Delta, Colorado and grew up in the Delta-Montrose area. He was an over the road truck driver. His passion for 18-wheelers started at the tender age of 5 and continued throughout his life. He drove coast to coast and in Hawaii. In his down time he worked various jobs from construction to plumbing, truly a “jack of all trades.”
Patrick’s self-appointed mission in life was to make at least one person smile or laugh every day he drew a breath. He had a gift for talking with people, anyone, anywhere, making them feel special and heard. His was an irreverent, sometimes obnoxious, sense of humor, which he shared freely. He was an expert BS-er who could hold his own with the best of them.
He was a devoted family man who lived for his wife, children, and grandchildren. “Bubba” was their biggest fan and loudest cheerleader. He fell short from time to time but never failed to brush himself off and try again, to push through and prove himself once more.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen Polhamus Scott of Andrews, North Carolina; four children, David McLouth and wife Dana of Newville, Pennsylvania, Caitlin Pendergrass and husband Matthew of Brasstown, North Carolina, Seanna Tunnell and husband Cody of Bahrain, Chance McLouth and husband James of Andrews, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Rylee, Pyperr, Logan, and Bayleigh Pendergrass, Robert and Harper Tunnell, and Dax McLouth; a sister Alissia Butler of Texas, a brother David Powell of Oklahoma, an aunt who was like a second mother, Peggy Meservey of Pueblo, Colorado; also many nieces and nephews, friends, and family.
A celebration of life was held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 656 NC-141, Murphy NC 28906.
Patrick’s ashes will be scattered throughout the United States along the highways and byways he loved so much and also buried in Palisade Cemetery, Palisade, Colorado.

He was blessed with such an extreme musical talent. His voice and playing musical instruments couldn’t be matched. Just to name a few, Borderline and Sundown were two bands he led and performed with. Later in life he gave his heart and soul to Jesus and used his talent to sing for him. Anyone who was blessed to hear him sing knew that he truly loved the Lord. He told everyone he knew how Jesus had changed his life. His voice and music touched everyone that heard him. His faith and family were first in his life. He loved his family, his grandchildren and people, everyone. His kind, humble, loving spirit, and sense of humor was felt as soon as you saw his smile. He has touched so many lives with his music, whether country, southern rock, southern gospel or hymns. There are no words to describe what a wonderful man he was. If you knew him you would understand. He was admired by so many. Those of us were blessed to have known him, the memories will live on forever.

Norval Willard Walter - December 15, 1939 - November 20, 2023

Departed: 11/20/2023 (Andrews)
Obituary Preview: Norval Willard Walter 83, years, 11 months and five days old; left this earthly home on the Nantahala River in Swain County for his eternal home in heaven on November 20, 2023 at 4:15 PM.
Willard Harold and Dolores Margaret Walter had their first child, Norval Willard born on December 15, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri. Two sisters joined the family, Suzie Dee and Glenda Rae. He proudly remembered playing on the Little League All-star baseball team as catcher in high school. They played in the Busch Stadium, a great highlight for him. He graduated from Ritenour High School, in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon graduation he worked at Wagner Electric as a draftsman. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in active duty for one year and served five and a half more years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. While in the Reserves he attended and graduated from Compton Junior College, in Compton, California in 1962. While in California he worked with Manchester Tank Equipment Company in charge of ordering materials. Manchester Company transferred him to Atlanta to help open a new plant there. While there, he met Becky Childress who later became his wife. He was offered a job with Boeing working on 747 airplanes which had been a big desire of his but had to move to Seattle, Washington. He decided he could not miss this opportunity and Becky decided she wasn’t ready to make a final commitment. She soon moved to Seattle, and they were married on September 1, 1967. Manchester Company continued to request his return to their company and through them he was able to move back to Atlanta where they began to start their family. They had two sons, Kenneth and Michael.
Norval always wanted to own his own business so through a church contact he joined a man who was dying of cancer, who owned a painting business. This man needed someone like Norval and train him to run his business. Norval had never painted but wanted to help this man in need. Later the owner was blessed by the Lord and ended up with no cancer. He was so thankful for what Norval had done that he assisted him in opening his own business, (painting and wallpapering), called the Wall-Ter Company which he had over thirty years. He helped Norval receive a contract with Ryan Builders and did the painting for the homes which kept him busy. That led to personal work in many states. He also painted the interior of Fellowship Bible Church, including all the classrooms as well.
Norval went to Haiti, St. Vincent, St. Thomas, and Barbados on four mission trips. He was involved in Bible study groups and could not remember a time in his life when he did not love the Lord. He always tried to please God. Now he is enjoying his heavenly place with his Lord.
Norval and Becky were married forty-two years when Becky went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2009. Norval married Ardis Beland Thomas after a ten-month courtship who had been a widow three years from her first marriage of fifty-two years. They married on December 14, 2013. Norval and Ardis enjoyed 9 years, 11 months and four days before the Lord took Norval home.
Norval is survived by his second wife, Rev. Ardis Ann Beland Thomas; two sisters: Suzie Dee Timmons and husband Steve and Glenda Rae Luna; two sons: Kenneth Hugh Walter, and Michael Glen Walter; two stepsons: Michael Arthur Thomas and Mark Christopher Thomas; two grandsons: Kenneth Grant Walter and Gage Michael Walter;  one granddaughter: McKenna Elsie Walter; two step grandsons: Stephen Michael Thomas and Adam Michael Thomas; and four step great granddaughters: Kyleigh Rose Thomas, Piper Caroline Thomas, Charlie Ann Thomas and Adeline Mae Thomas.
A graveside service was held at 11 AM, Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Euchella Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Grimes officiating.  Music was provided by Rev. Michael Thomas.  Pallbearers were Kenneth Walter, Michael Walter, Michael Thomas, Mark Thomas, Stephen Thomas and Adam Thomas.

Virginia Webb - October 26, 1936 - November 06, 2023

Departed: 11/06/2023 (Andrews)
Obituary Preview: Virginia Webb, age 87, of Andrews left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on November 6th, 2023.
Known as “Bitsy” to most, she was born on October 26th, 1936. Bitsy was the daughter of the late Jack Dillard and Eunice Hardin and wife and love of her life for 66 years the late James Samuel Webb, who died April 20th, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers Carl, Ralph and J. D. Hardin; her three sisters Dartha “Dot” Haught, Evelyn Teague, and Mary Lou Hardin.
She is survived by her sister, Eula Nelson and multiple neices and nephews (Jim Nelson, Kim Strickland, Melvin Haught, Jeff Teague, Billy Webb, Debbie Frye, Carolyn Holt, Pamela Brown, Terri McDowell, Jim Vaught and Tracy Vaught). Bitsy is also survived by a brother-in-law, Gene Webb and a sister-in-law, Ann Vaught.
Bitsy grew up in the community of Topton. Many of you remember the Hardin trout pond. The stories Bitsy would share of her childhood were incredible, making you laugh and cry. Times were hard for her family during the depression and World War II, but their family bond was a strength and blessing that she treasured deeply.
Bitsy married Sam Webb in her senior year of high school. We would see them together every day with Bitsy riding in one of Sam’s old trucks, her little blond head looking out the passenger seat; or at the Valleytown Cemetery in the evenings to walk and pass the time with friends; or in their “reserved” parking area at Ingles where Bitsy sat in the truck watching the people and cars while Sam, shopped for “bargains”.
Those of us that knew Bitsy would describe her as beautiful, funny, fiesty, spunky, lively; simply someone everyone loved. She loved good food, especially “sweets”; bright colors, reading, crossword puzzles, good movies, old westerns, and gatherings where people were just having a good time.
A graveside service was held at 2 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Valleytown Cemetery with the Reverend Eddie Hardin officiating.
