He served his community on the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years before becoming a past-active exempt member.  Bob was a true fisherman who traveled to many states to fly-fish and was an active member of the Fairfield Conservation and Sportsman Association for many years. Obituary Preview: Dominick Ranieri, 95, of Fairfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2024.
Dominick was born on December 1, 1928 in Satriano (Provincia Calabria), Italy. When he was 18, he left his beloved hometown to pursue the wondrous opportunities awaiting him in America.
Upon arriving in the United States in 1947, Dominick settled in Newark. He joined Carpenters Union Local 1342, and in 2022, the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters recognized him for his 65 years of service to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. During his tenure, he worked for major general contracting and construction management firms, including John O’Hara Company in East Orange. The footprints of his skilled craftsmanship are all over New Jersey, and he would proudly reminisce on every job and every city he worked in. On October 4, 1952, Dominick married Rose Mellace. Together, they had four daughters and raised their family in Newark. In 1973, they built a new home in Fairfield that welcomed many new cherished family members—five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who affectionately knew him as “Papa.”
Dominick had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed making wine, tomato sauce, soppressata, and other Italian delicacies. He loved tending to his vast garden that produced abundant fruits and vegetables. A proud Italian-American, he reveled in sharing the history and successes of his rich culture. Over espresso and sfogliatelle, he delighted in discussing geography, politics, and Italian soccer.
Above all, Dominick’s biggest love and passion in life was his family. He will be remembered for his gentle, kind demeanor and for providing everyone with unconditional love and support. While he will be forever missed, his family will always celebrate his 95 years of a life well-lived.
Dominick was predeceased by his parents, Domenico and Maria Theresa (nee Chiaravalloti) Ranieri, and his sister, Catherine Cicero and her husband, Joseph.
Dominick leaves his incredible legacy to be carried on by his wife of 71 years, Rose Ranieri. His children: Marie Latino and her husband, Pete; Diane Ranieri-Hart and her husband, Terry; Linda Soranno; and Cathy Stampone and her husband, Ray. His grandchildren: Lisa Marie Falbo (Latino) and her husband, Joseph; Pete Latino and his wife, Ariella; Melissa Kramer (Soranno) and her husband, Keith; Shane Soranno and his wife, Dara; and Nicholas Stampone. His great-grandchildren: Ayden and Dominic Soranno; Garrett and Isabella Kramer; Vittoria and Peter Anthony Latino; and Liana and Joseph Falbo III.
Friends and family will be received at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, on Sunday, January 28 from 2-6 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 29 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 12 Hollywood Avenue, Fairfield. Entombment is at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J.

Obituary Preview: Pauline Ann Minardi, affectionately known as Paula, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, at the age of 92 surrounded by her beloved family. Born to Emilia and Anthony Del Russo on September 10, 1931, in Newark, NJ, she lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Paula was the beloved wife of the late Carmine V. Minardi and cherished mother to the late Mari Minardi Goldberg. She is survived by her devoted sons, Salvatore Minardi (Joyce) and Carmine Minardi (Victoria), and her loving daughter, Paula (Dan). She was a proud grandmother to Carla Brady (Michael), Danielle Tsombanos (Chris), Alessandra Minardi (Andrew), Christa Minardi, and Christopher Pacicco (Chloe). Her loving family grew with the arrival of her great-granddaughters, Emilia and Melina Tsombanos.
Her siblings, including Anna  Risoli (Joe), Theresa Russo (Jimmy), Carmen Del Russo (Mary), Michael Del Russo (Theresa), Angelo Del Russo (Evelyn), Alfonso Del Russo (Josephine), and Modestino Del Russo (Madeline), along with their families, brought Paula great joy and endless fun. Paula truly loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Paula had an amazing professional life working in the Garment Center in New York, running a dress shop in Belleville, and owning and managing hair salons with her husband and sons. She gained lifelong friendships through her years working in Belleville, Nutley, and Madison.
Paula loved spending time with her family and friends – her impact on those around her was beautiful as she had an unforgettable presence and would sneak in quick jokes if you were sitting next to her. She was an active member of her parish, living out her faith with grace and generosity. Traveling with her husband, Carmine, family and friends, Paula felt lucky to have been able to see the world, but she was most happy on Island Time. A book was never far from her side, as she was an avid reader and always asked what someone was reading next. Paula's kitchen was the heart of many family occasions.
Those who knew Paula knew her love, and that she was proud of her life and her family. She taught her family to do right by others and to stand up for yourself and your loved ones. She was faith-filled, dedicated to her rosary with her spiritual strength guiding her through life's challenges and triumphs.
Paula's legacy is one of love and laughter, a beacon of faith and family values. She lived her life fully, with a spirit of generosity and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we bid farewell to Paula, we remember a life beautifully lived and a soul that touched so many. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were moved by her remarkable spirit.

Michael was born in Johnstown, PA, July 30, 1939, and grew up in Portage, Pennsylvania where he lived until he left at the age of 21 to start his professional career as a Real Estate Appraiser with Associated Surveys Inc. After working in 10 different states, he was drafted into the United States Army in 1953. He served two years as a Military Policeman stationed in Germany until transferred to Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania from where he was discharged in July of 1955. Michael then returned to work with Associated Surveys working in Kansas and New England before moving to New Jersey in 1967 where he met the love of his life, Jo. Mike and Jo were married December 1972 and Mike took a job with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, retiring from there in 2002. Mike then took courses to become a Certified Tax Assessor, He was an assessor in Montvale, Franklin Lakes, and Fairfield, NJ until his retirement in 2021. Mike had a love for sports and was an avid Steelers and Penn State fan. Nothing meant more to Mike than his family, he and his wife were the model of love and devotion.
Beloved husband of Jo (nee Costanzo) Leposky. Loving father of Lisa Kerr & her husband Robert, Donna Johnson & her husband Michael, and Edward Pavlick & his husband Helmut Lang. Cherieshed grandfather Allissa Kerr & her fiancé Jake Mitchell, Brianna GilMartin and her wife Hayley, and Tayler Schauer & her fiancé Tim Vangeles. Along with her parents, Sue is reunited in passing with her beloved son, Brian Keith Pisko.
Sue was a hardworking woman who proudly climbed the ranks in the insurance world, to become the Vice President of Disability Claims. Following her well-deserved retirement, Sue was able to enjoy the finer things in life. She enjoyed time spent making memories with family and friends and enjoyed time spent outdoors. Sue was a selfless and giving woman who enjoyed time spent shopping for and donating blankets, food and toys to her local animal shelter. Sue was also passionate about giving back to children in need and would gladly gather and donate toys to brighten their day. Above all else, Sue loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Sue’s memory are her companion of many years, Francis “Frank” Gremsperger of Jefferson, New York; her sisters, Linda Ingledew of Camberley, England, Joanne Coiro and her husband, Frank of Fairfield, NJ & Deborah Drake of Montclair, NJ; her brother, Michael Drake and his wife, Patti of Murrells Inlet, SC; nephews, Mark, Christopher, Nicholas, Jesse & Daniel; nieces, Lisa, Lauren, Jessica & Samantha; her beloved pets, Simon, Tilly, Zoey, Fred & Sunshine; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

Obituary Preview: Patricia D'Aquila, 82, of Fairfield, NJ, passed away due to complications of pneumonia on December 9, 2023. She was born and raised in Belleville NJ, daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Annunziata) DiGirolamo. She had a talent for singing and was a devout Catholic who attended mass regularly at Holy Family Church in Nutley.
Patricia graduated from Belleville High School and then earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Kean College. She spent the following 13 years educating and inspiring 1st grade students in the East Orange public school system.
After marrying Patrick Joseph D’Aquila(1935-2020), Patricia paused her career until the late 1980s so that she could be a fulltime mother to her 3 sons that she adored. Her devotion to her family was exemplified by the time, energy, and love she invested in her children, husband, grandchildren, and household for the last 50+ years.
Since the early 2000’s, Patricia worked at polling places on Election Day in Essex County. She took pride in contributing to the democratic process and fulfilling her civic duties.

He went to daily Mass and was a member of the Legion of Mary. He loved to sing and was a choir member at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Passaic, NJ. Jack will be remembered by his family for being selfless and kindhearted. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He volunteered at the Montville Food Pantry, ushered at St. Pius X Church and was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Knights of Columbus. Ronald was known for his wit, humor, intellect, and jovial personality which brought many laughs to his Saturday Morning Breakfast Club. Above all, he was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed by them.

On Sunday, September 17, 2023, Frances Padykula passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Paterson, NJ. She was 93. Frances was born on October 12, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to Henry Cicela and Mary (nee: Burek). She later moved to New York City to live with her mother’s sister, Aunt Betty, and her Uncle Frank Mudryk. Here she worked at Philip Morris and Hartz Mountain where she moved her way up to an office administrative position.
Frances married Joseph Padykula on August 17, 1957 and moved to their home in Fairfield, NJ. Together they had their three children, James, David, and Jane, to whom she was a devoted, gentle, and loving mom. Her greatest joys included her Polish heritage, especially dancing to Polka music, family genealogy, her family’s many pets, garage saling, and cross-country camping road trips with her family.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Joseph Stanley Padykula. She is survived by her son James and his partner Beth Priday of Bloomingdale, NJ; son David and his wife Wendy of Hewitt, NJ and their children Elizabeth Reihl and Rebecca and their granddaughter Maeve Reihl (Frances’s great-granddaughter); daughter Jane and her husband Mark Ellis of Rockaway, NJ and their children Katherine, Scott, and Carolyn.
Frances was a prayerful woman who will be remembered for her kind soul, generosity, and fierce love for her family. She will be greatly missed.
