Tommy 'Ace' Lee Endsley - January 18, 1948 - August 31, 2023

Departed: 08/31/2023 (Marysville)
Obituary Preview: Tommy Lee "Ace" Endsley, age 75, of Bellefontaine and formerly of Broadway, Ohio, died peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He truly loved life and fought to the very end. During his life, he had two major accidents and battled cancer twice. After all of this, he still never gave up.
On January 18, 1948, Tommy was born in Kenton, Ohio, the oldest of three children of the late Ralph B. and Martha A. (Comer) Endsley. He grew up in "the greatest place on Earth, Broadway, Ohio." He attended Broadway schools until the 8th grade, transferring to Northwestern, then consolidating into Marysville High School and graduating in the class of 1966.
Having a lifelong love of cars, Tommys superior craftsmanship led him to Honda Automotive Plant of Marysville, where he spent many years and made a lot of long-time friends. He then went on to work for Advanced Auto Parts, where he made more long-time friends, and eventually retired. He also was a member of the New Richland Baptist Church in Belle Center.
During his life, Tommy was one of the hardest working people most of us have ever met. Whether it was long days on the job, out in the garage or out cutting wood, we could always count on him to do whatever was required to get the job done.
A racing fanatic, Tommys life revolved around the race track. He loved racing his own car at Columbus Motor Speedway, following his son, Doug, and nephew, Billies racing careers, and as a pit crew member on Todd Gibsons Indy 500 race car team. His love of racing took him to several Nascar tracks, along with his favorite local tracks including: Shadybowl, Eldora and Waynesfield.
Tommy overflowed with love for his family and friends. He was his grandkids biggest fan, attending all of their activities and sporting events, even though he still doesnt quite understand soccer. He cherished spending time and playing with them, and following Jennas softball career. He loved cars and racing, and more cars and more racing. He also loved researching his family ancestry, hamburgers, cherry pie, and Bennys Pizza. He loved his childhood, growing up with his family in Broadway. He also loved riding his golf cart at Indian Lake.
Quite the character, Tommy will be missed for being his own unique, special self.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 44 years, Pam Endsley of Bellefontaine; two sons: Doug (Wendy) Endsley of North Carolina, and Joe Endsley of Florida; two step-children: Christa (PJ) Williams of Marysville, and Cory (Anne) Davis of Columbus; 8 grandchildren: Jenna, Hunter, Kinsey (Phillip), Kylee, Logan, Maeve, Charlie, and Harry; 3 great-grandchildren: Brailey, Lilah, and Rory; a sister, Berdina Morehart of Marysville; 3 nephews and one niece: Billie, Tabitha, Chad, and Michael; his mother-in-law, Glenna "Bunny" McCloud; and countless dear friends.
Including his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by brother, Billie W. Endsley Sr; and his father-in-law, Maynard McCloud.
His family will greet friends from Noon to 2 pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Everyone will then drive in procession to Broadway Cemetery to honor his life at his graveside at 2:30 pm.

During his junior year in school, Bob became high school sweethearts with Carolyn Sarver, and from there the rest is history. They knew they were meant for one another, so they eloped and were married on January 15, 1967, in Reedsville, North Carolina. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and lovingly raised two children: Kevin and Kathy.

He loved hunting there, especially if he didnt have to leave the back deck. He enjoyed fishing at home, always gladly baiting the worms on the line for his grandchildren. In his younger days, he also loved playing youth baseball and slow pitch softball.
Bob had an ornery, cantankerous personality, having his own fun-loving words and salutes to show his family and friends how much he cared. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he relished taking them on adventures with him.

He was the greatest mentor to his grandchildren, always teaching them valuable life lessons and a strong work ethic.
Although, he loved all his grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly, he held a special place in his heart for Brenden and Lucas. He was more of a father figure to them than a grandfather.
He and his four brothers were very close to each other through their lives always being there for each other.
Don was a man of great faith. When he could not physically attend church anymore, he became a faithful follower of the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. He also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a true patriot. He had a passion for FISHING and Ohio State football. He loved watching western movies, and John Wayne was his favorite actor. When he became ill, "Barn" as his grandson, Lucas called him, would watch movies with his sidekick, Lucas "Barn Jr". Their favorite movies were "Hoosiers" and "Karate Kid".
Don was born December 21, 1940, in Union County to the late Amer L. and Leona M. (Van Gundy) Rausch. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Rausch and Bonnie Bird; a sister-in-law Alma Boggs; a mother-in-law, Beulah Swan, a brother-in-law, Clyde Swan Jr., and a sister-in-law, Karen Rausch.
Donald married the love of his life, the former Juanita M Swan on June 25, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church here in Marysville. She survives him as does a daughter, Debbie Rausch Stanley, of Marysville, along with her two sons, Brenden, and Lucas Stanley. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Denver Bird of Logan; grandchildren, Michael (Dorothy) Bird of Abilene, TX, Kimberly (Payton) Curran, Sarah (Josh Edwards) Bird, Amber (Colton) Hill, great grandchildren, Abraham and Lilly Curran, Kyson, and Bonnita Bird, and soon to arrive, Hudson Hill; his brother's, James Rausch of Marysville, Joe (Mary) Rausch of Broadway, David (Crystal) Rausch and John (Maggi) Rausch both of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Thomas 'Tom' E. Lookabaugh - January 27, 1967 - July 08, 2023

Departed: 07/08/2023 (Marysville)
Obituary Preview: Thomas E. "Tom" Lookabaugh, age 56, of Marysville, died peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus following a battle with his health.
On January 27, 1967, Tom was born in Marysville, Ohio, the oldest of four children of the late Jerry Leon Lookabaugh and Yvonnie Marie (Rousey) Lookabaugh. He was raised in Marysville until moving to Richwood in 1983, where he graduated from North Union High School in the class of 1985.
One night at a Bon Jovi concert in 1988, Tom had a very brief encounter with a young lady also enjoying the concert, Mellisa Lycans. Fast forward a few months, and Tom and Mellisa found themselves working together at Rax Roast Beef in Marysville, where Tom mustered up the strength to ask Mellisa out on a date. Tom never accepted "no" as an answer, and through his persistence they went on a double date on March 3, 1989. From there, the rest is history. They continued dating for 32 years, and his persistence again paid off as they were married on August 23, 2022. Throughout their 33 years together, they were always "By Your Side" for one another. Together they also loved their many faithful pets: their dog, Beckett, and their cat, Tigger.
For the majority of Toms career, twenty plus years, he worked for the Honda Marysville Auto Plant in both assembly and the paint department. For the last three years, he worked at International Paper in Marysville as an ink mixer.
While Tom and Mellisa werent able to have kids of their own, one of their greatest joys was being uncle and aunt-extraordinaries. They loved having as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews over as they could, and felt as if they were their own children. They were blessed to spend the most time with: Quentin, Josie, Levi, and Montana Lookabaugh, and Kevin, Brandon (Heather), Kingston, Joey and Lilly Lycans.
One of Toms favorite pastimes was tinkering in the garage, working on cars. He dreamed of having a 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500. He was very handy and could fix most anything he set his mind to. He was an outdoorsman, who loved anything adventurous and loved being a bit of a dare-devil. Over the years, he enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Pheasants Forever Club. He played golf, shot clay pigeons, skied, and even tried parasailing. He was a guys guy, and whatever the new outdoor fad of the year was, he wanted to try it out with the guys.
Very outgoing and ornery, Tom took pride in being a practical jokester. He would go to all lengths to play a prank on his family and friends, and his absolute favorite pranks being to scare Mellisa and her friends.
Having a huge heart, Tom had his own unique way of showing his family and friends how much he cared. He also was a big animal lover, and he loved hanging out and playing video games with all the boys in the family.
Tom leaves behind his beloved wife, Mellisa Lycans-Lookabaugh of Marysville; three siblings: Richard (Betty) Lookabaugh of West Liberty, Jarold Lookabaugh of Caledonia, and Carol (Greg) Pitts of Calgary, Alberta Canada; mother-in-law, Laura Herriott; father-in-law, Ron Herriott; a brother-in-law, Paul (Danielle) Lycans and their daughter, Kayleigh; two sisters-in-law: Angie Lycans and Lori Millhouse; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
His family will greet friends from 2 5 pm on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Services honoring Toms life will follow there at 5 pm, with his first cousin, Pastor Chad Davis officiating.

Roger Lee Rowlett Sr. - March 04, 1946 - July 08, 2023

Departed: 07/08/2023 (Marysville)
Obituary Preview: Roger L. Rowlett Sr., age 77, of Marysville, died peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Ohio State University Hospital, under Hospice of Central Ohio's care, following nearly a twenty year battle with various types of cancer, starting with breast cancer in 2005.
On March 4, 1946, Roger was born in Bristol, Virginia, the youngest of three children of the late Herbert Guy Rowlett and Mary Ruth (Justice) Rowlett. He was raised in Jenkins, Kentucky, where he made his case to leave school in the 10th grade because it wasnt challenging enough and where he begged his mother to allow him to enlist in the US Army when he was still 17.
In February of 1964, Roger enlisted to serve his beloved country in the US Army, where he served two tours in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He served from 1964 1968 as a marksman, was stationed in Saigon while overseas, and he earned numerous medals and awards including a bronze star.
Following his honorable discharge, Roger moved in with his sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Bill Hendrix, in West Carrollton, Ohio, where he started working as a linesman for Dayton Power and Light. He eventually transferred to Union Rural Electric, where he worked his way up from being a linesman to a supervisor. Lastly, he transferred to Ohio Rural Electric, where he was a safety and loss consultant, teaching linesman all of the tricks of the trade. Roger was known as "Moe" throughout the electric companies, and he retired at the age of 52, in 1998, following his 2nd open heart surgery. In his younger days, he had his own tower business, scaling the tallest buildings in Ohio to run their electric wiring.
Roger met the love of his life, Sue, and from there the rest is history. They shared 28 wonderful years together. Anyone who knew them would agree, they were soul mates. Roger died of a broken heart, as she preceded him in death two months prior on May 7, 2023.
Sharing a love for traveling, Roger and Sue planned most of their travels around their favorite hobbies. For Roger, he fell in love with trains and building model trains starting at the age of 6. Over the years, he built one of the most amazing train sets you have ever seen. For Sue, she loved quilting. So together they would travel far and wide to see anything train related, and to pick up the quilting blocks throughout Ohio shared by fellow quilters. Together they also attended the First Presbyterian Church.
A "car guy", Roger was a muscle car and Jeep enthusiast ever since he got back from Vietnam. It all started with his all red Ford Fairlane to his 57 Chevy, his Corvettes, his Z28 Camaro, to his countless Jeep Wranglers. He could often be found tinkering on his cars in the garage, keeping them all in pristine condition. He even had a gig testing cars at the Transportation Research Center (TRC Track) for the State of Ohio for Honda. He could do or fix anything he put his mind to, and always had a project and was remodeling something on his house. He was an avid gun collector who had incredible aim. He also was a Mamas boy, who loved to eat, and would great lengths trying to find anyone who could match her sausage biscuits and gravy.
In so many ways and for so many reasons, Roger was truly a great man. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor for anyone willing to learn. He always saw the best in everyone and had a positive outlook on everything. He was meticulous about every detail, and kept everything perfectly organized. He was extremely sharp up until his last days, and could remember most of his life with extraordinary recall. He was a lifelong learner, who loved keeping up with the times and new technologies. He was very understanding and compassionate, caring deeply for his family, friends, and co-workers. If anyone ever needed him, Roger would be there for you without question, and he even cared for his mother and for Sue and was always by their side.
He will be missed by his two children: Lisa R. (Darren) Brown of Suffolk, VA, and Roger L. Rowlett Jr. of Lancaster, SC; three grandchildren: Ethan (Taylor) Brown, Mason Brown, and Axyl Rowlett; one great-grandson is on the way, Ryker Brown; two step-children: Tracey L. (Chad) Reeser of Marysville, and Jeffrey P. (Jerika) Risner of LaRue; 9 step-grandchildren: Hudson and Helena Reeser, Bailey, Blake, Cain and Laikyn Risner, Lexi Mattix, and Logan and Gage Pounds; Gary Rowlett, and Frances (Bill) Hendrix; a sister-in-law, Paula (Jim) Warner; a brother-in-law, Don (Janet) Pyers; and many special nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends whom Roger was blessed with throughout his life.
In addition to his wife and parents, Roger was preceded in death by a stillborn step-daughter, Teresa Risner; and a sister-in-law, Sheila Kitchen.
His family will greet friends from 10 am to Noon on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Services honoring his life will follow there at Noon, with Chaplain Tom Schwind officiating. Burial with military honors provided by active duty members of the US Army and the Union County Honor Guard will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union County Military Family Support Group or to Loving Care Hospice and they may be sent to the funeral home.

Shirley Ann Harbold - September 24, 1933 - July 06, 2023

Departed: 07/06/2023 (Marysville)
Obituary Preview: Shirley Ann Harbold, age 89, of Marysville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Walnut Crossing Care Center following an extended illness.
On September 24, 1933, Shirley was the sixth of seven children of the late Charles Wilson Caldwell and Ava Marie (Cooperider) Caldwell.
One fateful day while drinking a soda at Clancys Soda Shop, Shirley met her future husband, Walter "Gene" Harbold. From there, he invited her to a dance at the armory, and the rest is history. They were married on November 18, 1951, and shared sixty-six loving years of marriage. He always endearlingly referred to her as his "Squirrely". He preceded her in death on November 11, 2017.
While raising their children, Shirley was a loving homemaker for Gene and their three boys. Once the boys were in school, she went to work at the Memorial Hospital in Marysville, where she earned her state tested nurses aide degree in the late 1970s. She worked for the hospital for 37 years, primarily as an STNA in outpatient surgery. After retiring, they asked her to come back to assist with physical therapy at the hospital.
Very faithful, Shirley was an active member of the Marysville First United Methodist Church (now Cornerstone Global Methodist Church), where she loved volunteering with their rummage sale and enjoyed serving in their churchs womens groups. While Gene, Shirley and family lived in Milford Center from 1952 to 1968, they were members of the Milford Center United Methodist Church.
Over the years, Shirley and Gene enjoyed going on camping adventures together at their camper at Mountain Lake, where Shirley socialized while Gene fished.
Having a green thumb, Shirley loved tending to her beautiful flower gardens every year. She loved trips to Krogers, always managing to visit so much with friends her trips would take four hours. She was an avid reader, and she loved bargain hunting at yard sales.
One of a kind, Shirley was a social butterfly with a little bit of spice and spunk in her. You also always knew how she felt about things, as she always called things just like she saw them.
She will be missed by her two sons: Stephen (Nancy) Harbold of Woodstock, and Timothy (Louetta) Harbold of North Lewisburg; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Harbold; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Lynch, David (Melanie) Harbold, Matthew (Ashley) Harbold, Benjamin (Amber) Harbold, Rachel (Aaron) Haynes, Brittni (Travis) West, and Scott (Rebecca) Rowe; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Including her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Philip Harbold; and an infant daughter, Rebecca Ann Harbold.
Her family will greet friends from 11 am 1 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Services honoring her life will follow there at 1 pm, with Rev. Denise Turpin officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to ViaQuest Hospice and they may be sent to the funeral home.
