They recently celebrated 58 years of marriage. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James T. and Agnes M. (McDermott) Spearman.
James graduated from LaSalle Academy, class of 1959. James earned the US Army rank of SP4 while stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge, he was proprietor of a Pepperidge Farms franchise for over 17 years. He later became a Realtor for the Century 21 Towne Crier Agency in Coventry where he achieved many sales goals and awards. Jim was very much involved in his community. He was presently Town Sergeant, he served on the Coventry Town Council for 18 years, and was past vice president. Jim was a coach and president of the Coventry Babe Ruth Baseball league for 47 years. He established and coached in the Central Coventry Little League, He also founded the Coventry Basketball Association. He had also been a Cub Scouts Master. Jim was a N.E. professional sports fan.
He was the father of Colleen A. Printer (Timothy), James T. Spearman, and Michael R. Spearman (Catherine) all of Coventry; and the grandfather of Timothy J. Printer (Erika),Kathryn E. Printer, Ethan M. Spearman, William R. Spearman, Ella M. Spearman and Mary E. Spearman. He was the brother of Maureen Jordan of West Windsor, NJ.

Before retiring, James was the owner and operator of Fluoro Products Inc. for many years. As a mechanical engineer, he enjoyed working on classic cars, building motorcycles, and attending classic car shows.
Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by his children Lauren Price and James B. Steele Jr., both of St. Louis, Missouri. James is also survived by many loved grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: COVENTRY- Juliette Leona Kelly, 77, of Coventry, a former longtime resident of West Warwick, passed away after a period of declining health on the evening of Monday, April 11, 2022, at Kent Hospital in Warwick, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her family. She was the devoted wife for 54 wonderful years to the love of her life, Robert W. “Bobby” Kelly of Coventry, who she married on September 2, 1967.
Born on May 21, 1944, in Lewiston, Maine, she was one of eight children born to the late Melvin G. Mayberry, Sr., and Elizabeth (Roy) Mayberry. She grew up in Winthrop, MA and attended Winthrop Public Schools until her senior year when she moved to Gainesville, TX.  After her graduation there she returned to Winthrop.  She and her husband Bob met in their younger years and reconnected upon her return to Winthrop.
A woman with a caring and gentle personality, Juliette devoted much of her working career to her cherished children and husband. She took great pride in being an exceptional Homemaker and ensuring that her home was a comfortable and welcoming place to all.
In her spare time, Juliette had a wide array of hobbies and interests. She loved trips to the casino with Foxwoods being her favorite one to visit, and she was also an avid poker and bingo player. Juliette’s liking for playing cards was passed down to her family, where they would spend many holidays having family games of High-Low-Jack; at her encouragement, games were played with money on the line. Juliette was very fortunate to find her best friend in her husband Bob. The two of them enjoyed the simple things in life together with some of their favorite activities being their “date nights” and heading to the movies. Above all, Juliette was most happy when she was in the presence of and making memories with her treasured family, especially her four grandchildren who were truly the apple of her eye.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, Juliette is survived by her cherished children: Debra Kelly-Reis and her husband Richard of Port Orange, FL, Stephen Kelly and his wife Tammy of Coventry, and Timothy Kelly and his wife Denise of North Providence; her four grandchildren: Matthew Kelly, Lindsey Kelly, Dylan Reis, and Maelyn Kelly; her two sisters: Betty Lou Conway and Nancy McDonald and her husband Michael; and also countless nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Juliette is predeceased by her siblings: Patricia Duplin, Marilyn McKeough, Melvin Mayberry, Jr., Peter Mayberry, and Pauline McLaughlin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Juliette’s visitation on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rt.3), Coventry.
A Funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 9 AM from the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Saints John & Paul Church, South Main St., Coventry. Burial will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. He was the husband of Barbara S. (Oakley) Plummer for 42 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Taylor) Plummer.
Donald, a Registered Nurse at Kent Hospital in the Emergency Room and later in Pre-Admission & Testing, was employed by the Hospital for 45 years before retiring in 2017. In fondness, the Staff referred to him as “The Mayor of Kent”. Donald loved to spend time with his family. He loved going to the beach and being by the ocean, caring for animals including the many woodland creatures and birds in his backyard, and the special bond he had with his cat “Kitty Peanut''.
He was the father of Jayson R. Plummer and his wife Kaitlyn of Ammon, Idaho, Amanda B. (Plummer) Hood and her husband Joshua of Mexico, Maine, Nathan J. Plummer and Michael A. Plummer, both of Coventry. He is also survived by three grandsons Jax, Roman and Jack Plummer.

Robert graduated from West Warwick High School, class of 1949. He served in the US Army, during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Providence College where he was an accomplished baseball player and captain of the team. Robert was a systems engineer at N.E. Telephone before retiring. He was drafted to play semi-pro baseball. Robert played for Local 57 fast-pitch, and for many years he played in the P.V. semi-fast pitch softball league. Robert was inducted into the West Warwick High School Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed golf, and was an avid N.E. sports fan. He was the father of Robert A. Grenier (Holly) of Coventry, Robin A. Hart (Timothy) of Burrillville,
and Rona A. Principe (David) of West Warwick and the late Roslyn Grenier. Robert was the grandfather of Dakota Grenier, Hunter Grenier, Jesse Principe, Bryce Principe, Brielle Grassey, Hollie Hart; great-grandfather of Benjamin & Emily. Robert was the brother of Nancy Johnson, and the late Aime, Richard,Roland Grenier, Elaine Fraser, Mary Hayes and Henrietta Dodd. Obituary Preview: COVENTRY- Ronald L. Tefft, 71, of Coventry, passed away at his home surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of his devoted family on Monday, March 28, 2022. He was the fiancé to Ingrid Ryan, whom he met at a local fair when they were both in their teens.    Born in Westerly, on June 2, 1950, Ron was the eldest of six children born to the late Leslie and Bernice (Wheeler) Tefft. Ron, from a young age, learned what hard work meant as he was raised on his family's dairy farm in Hope Valley, RI.    A proud and patriotic man, Ron decided to leave the family farm and enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served from 1967-1970, in which he spent a year overseas with the brave men and women of the US Army in Vietnam; he respectfully achieved the rank of SP4. Ron seldom spoke of his time in the military to his loved ones, but he always took great pride in being a veteran and he was an avid supporter of the men and women of the armed forces.    Following his three years of service to the nation he loved, Ron was employed as a Police Officer in the town of Hopkinton. Ron eventually transitioned careers into the mechanical maintenance profession. His first job in the maintenance field was at Pfizer; where he repaired and maintained the pharmaceutical equipment.  After Pfizer, Ron worked for Little Rhody Machine Repair as a Millwright at various mills throughout the state. His last place of employment before retiring was at Rhodes Industry located in Coventry, RI.    In his spare time Ron was an avid outdoorsman often going on fishing and hunting expeditions. He enjoyed taking spins on his motorcycle and buzzing around the Bay and Johnson's Pond on his motorboat. Ron had a thirst for adventure as he liked to go paragliding and he even flew around in his own gyrocopter. Above all, Ron was most happy when he was in the presence of and making memories with his dear family, especially his beloved grandchildren.    In addition to his fiancé, Ron is survived by his former wife Donna Tefft, cherished children: Tammy Kelly and her husband Stephen, Lester “Chuck” Rayner, Ashley Tefft and her husband Mathew Burgess, and Brittany Tefft and her significant other Derek Nelson; his 7 grandchildren: Matthew, Lindsey, Maelyn, Logan, Ariana, Hailey, and Riley; his siblings: Donald Tefft, Donna Church, Denice Senior, Doreen Morison, and the late Dennis Tefft; and also countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM at Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., Coventry. Mary Anne graduated from West Warwick High School in 1961. She went on to employment in the RI Jewelry industry. In 1996, she began employment at Conneaut Industries Inc. for over 20 years before retiring. Mary Anne loved to care for her pet dogs and cats. A private committal service will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery in West Warwick at the request of the family. James worked until recently as a computer technician for Dell Computers.
He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, the Boston Bruins and the Chelsea Football Club.
Besides his parents, James is survived by his brother, Andy Norman.   Jamie is also survived by a host of beloved aunts, uncles & cousins.  In addition, Jamie left behind his beautiful silver Siamese cat, companion, and best friend "AliKat".

He was the loving father of Haleigh and Ava Maynard.  He was the brother of Kenyell D. Pelletier and Unique N. Pelletier.  Kendall is also survived by several other brothers, sisters and extended family members.  He was also the son of the late Kenny Briggs and Doris Mitchell.

THOMAS LEO SULLIVAN - Unknown - March 14, 2022

Obituary Preview: SULLIVAN, THOMAS L., 83, of Coventry passed away on March 14, 2022. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Mariorenzi) Sullivan for over 62 years.
Born in Providence RI, he was the son of the late Thomas and Helen (Burns) Sullivan.
Tom attended Central High School in Providence and later enlisted in the US Army Reserve in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1964. During that period, he worked as a machinist and in 1967 he then worked at the Providence Gas Company for over 32 years before retiring in 1998.  In retirement, Tom enjoyed a second stint of work as a school bus driver and later a bus monitor for several years.
Tom and Betty moved their family to Coventry in 1968 and became members of Saints John and Paul Parish.  In retirement, he and his beloved Betty enjoyed camping in their RV and visiting points of interest up and down the East Coast and Northeast visiting their favorite spots in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, Maine, Niagara Falls, Fort Wilderness in Disney World and to the Florida Keys.  Tom also took up golf for a few years in his early retirement.
Most of all, he cherished being by Betty's side every step of the way during their long and loving life together.
Besides his wife, he leaves their four children.  Thomas (Donna) of Hope Valley, Sheila of Coventry, Michael (Terri) of Coventry, and Matthew (Michelle) of Florida.  He was the loving “Papa” to ten grandchildren; Brittni, Quinn, Kayla, Elizabeth, Trisha, Catherine, Christine, Cristin, Michael, and Mary Lynn.  He was the great grandfather to Brayden, Karlee, Brooklyn, Max, and Luna.
Tom was the brother of Brenda Jensen of Florida, Judy Lanni of Providence, and the late Paul Sullivan of Massachusetts.
Funeral services will be private at the request of the family.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Steven spent his career working as a skilled Toolmaker and Machinist. He was a Co-Owner of Simmons Tool and Engineering, which he owned with his brother Brian, and Kerin Precision. He also worked for General Dynamics Electric Boat both in Quonset Point RI and Groton, CT. He later retired from Rogers Corporation. Steven was also a member of Club Jogues where he enjoyed participating in their pool and golf leagues. In his free time, Steven loved spending time on Johnson’s pond in his boat and working in his at- home machine shop. Above all, Steven was a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Father of David Simmons, his wife Karen, of Coventry, and Dr. Erin Simmons of Coventry. Grandfather of Benjamin and the late Nicholas Simmons. Theresa was the loving mother of Ronald DiFranco, Patricia Keenan and her partner Paul Rettenmyer, Cynthia DiFranco, and the late Gary DiFranco. Grandmother of 5,Rebecca, Eric, Monique, Michelle, Lindsey and  great-grandmother of 7, Aiden, Emma, Gabriel, Henry, Brady, Robby, and Vivian. Sister of Richard Belanger, and the late Lucille Peltier and Norman Belanger.

He was the dear husband to his devoted wife, Valerie J. (Laprad) McGovern of Coventry, who were married on May 20, 1978. Born on May 11, 1953 in Providence, RI, he was one of four children born to the late Hubert J. and Lorene B. (Sandberg) McGovern. Mike grew up in Warwick and attended Warwick Public Schools. He was a graduate of Pilgrim High School, Class of 1972. Having a natural knack for working with his hands, Mike was a proud member of UA Local 51-Plumbers and Pipefitters based out of East Providence. He was well liked and respected by all his union brothers and sisters for his work ethic and skill level. Mike had the important job of being a Foreman on many job sites, where he would ensure all work was getting done with quality in a timely manner. After 35 years of working as a Plumber with Local 51, Mike deservedly retired in 2009.  In his spare time, Mike had wide array of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed playing tennis, attended multiple bible study groups and dedicated a lot of time to learning the art of karate at Don Rodrigues Karate Academy, where he earned his black belt. In the winter, Mike enjoyed taking trips to Maine with his family to ski at Sunday River and in the Summer, he like to spend time at Miscquamicut Beach in Westerly. With his extensive knowledge of plumbing, Mike often helped his family and friends with their plumbing and home renovations. Above all, Mike enjoyed time spent and memories made with his treasured family.  In addition to his wife of 43 years, Mike is survived by his proud and cherished children: Erin Ursillo and her husband Matthew of Coventry and Patrick McGovern of Coventry; his two grandchildren: Luke and Zach Ursillo; his siblings: Patricia Narcavage and her husband Robert, Margaret Coupe and her late husband James, and Philip McGovern and his wife Deborah; as well as countless nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was the father of Robin L. Daggett of Coventry, Ronald L. Watters and his wife Robin of West Greenwich, and the late Sandra L. Watters. Barton is also survived by four grandsons and four great-grandchildren, and two cats JJ and Harvey. Per Barton’s request a private committal service with military honors will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery in East Greenwich. Albert was a skilled athlete growing up in Canada playing hockey. He was awarded many trophies for playing sports including baseball, tennis, and bowling. His favorite hockey team was the Montreal Canadiens. Albert was a devout Catholic and belonged to the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church. He also volunteered at many Parish activities. He was also a member of the Anthony PNA and the SPRM Post American Legion Post 81.
He was the father of Anne M. Mercer (John) of Somerset, MA and Mary E. Falso (Robert) of Warwick; five grandchildren Nicole and Jillian Mercer, and Nathan, Jacqueline and Andrew Falso. Albert was the brother of Andre Labrecque of North Kingstown, Carmen Proulx (Roland) of West Warwick and the late Claude Labrecque.

Tony has been playing the saxophone since he was a young boy. Tony was an avid NY Jets fan (even when they lost), and also bred Dutch rabbits for many years.
Tony is also survived by his wife’s children; Ryan Sylvia (Kelly), Jason Sylvia (Ashley), Steven Bettez (Maura), and Justin Bettez (Heather); and seven grandchildren. Tony was the brother of Marilyn Campbell.
