Gloria was the epitome of kindness and grace, traits that were evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She graduated from Vineland High School and soon after began her career as a dedicated secretary for Atlantic Telephone & Telegraph in Manhattan, now known as AT&T, where she worked until she decided to focus on raising her two beloved children. Gloria's role as a homemaker was one she cherished deeply, nurturing her family with love and devotion.

She is survived by her loving family, including daughter Gloria Capuzzi and her partner Marc Fosman, son Kenneth Lankford and his wife Maureen, grandson Kenneth Lankford, granddaughter Nicole Eckert and her husband Timothy, and new baby great-granddaughter Addison Eckert. Gloria will also be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Dorothy Carin, nephew Jeff Carin, great-niece Gwen and great-nephew, Shane. Her radiant presence will be missed by all who know her, including her cherished friends and extended family. Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Helen and John Yaccarino, her husband Walter Marshall, brother Joseph Carin, and sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Curt Napier.

Gloria's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She held a deep love for New York City and Broadway theatre, reveling in the magic of live performances and the bustling energy of the city. Gloria loved to travel, with Switzerland and Paris holding special places in her heart. She often reminisced about her winter vacations in Puerto Rico, where she enjoyed the company of her best friends, the Alfano's. Those who knew Gloria will recall her laughter, her impeccable fashion sense of style, and her joy in sharing good food and coffee with friends and family. Her love of animals was profound, and she found great happiness in their companionship.

An integral part of Gloria's life was her community of longtime neighbors and close friends, including Dotty, Nancy, Carmen, and Vicki. Their bond was one of mutual respect and enduring friendship, and their memories will be treasured forever.

Gloria's love for the Christmas season was infectious; she took great delight in trimming her tree, giving thoughtful gifts, and basking in the glow of festive decorations.

Her generosity of spirit and the warmth of her company will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Gloria's legacy is one of love and kindness, and her memory will continue to inspire those she has left behind. She also found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. A skilled knitter, Marie created countless beautiful pieces, each stitch a testament to her patience and creativity. Her love for Christmas was legendary, the holiday season always finding her home filled with warmth, laughter, and the scent of freshly baked pumkpin pie. A true animal lover, Marie found companionship and comfort in her pets, treating each one as a cherished member of her family.

A member of the Arts Student League of New York, she was an avid watercolor painter, often capturing the beauty of life around her in her artwork. However, her most cherished role was that of a loving mother and grandmother. Marie-Jeanne is survived by her children; Muriel Tashjian (Craig), Martine Castadot (Peter), and Marc Castadot (Tammy). She was a beloved grandmother to Natalie, Aline, Julian, Danielle, Colette, Madeleine, Gillian, and Joseph. Her love for her family was palpable, and she often expressed it through acts of kindness and tokens of affection.

Marie-Jeanne's life was marked by a strong drive to help others, whether it be through her work as a doctor or in the love she showed her family. The impression she left on her patients, colleagues, friends, and family is a testament to her caring spirit and will continue to inspire those who knew her. Amelia L Malloy - June 14, 1925 - October 31, 2023

Obituary Preview: Amelia Malloy was blessed with the love of family, friends, and acquaintances who admired her friendliness and will to enjoy life even into her nineties. In her final moments at home she was kept comfortable by the same warm love and care. Amelia was known for her will to be in charge of things - sometimes with the afterthought, "I should have . . ." She had intellectual interests into her nineties - including her favorite book authors, word jumbles, Scrabble, card playing with her friends, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. Amelia loved music - including listening to her parents singing at night while she lay in bed. Amelia was born in 1925, one of seven children born to Louis Flaim, an immigrant from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire who came to Fort Lee in 1888 at age sixteen, and his wife Sabina who came to Fort Lee in 1911. Louis worked as a blue stone Mason in Fort Lee and the surrounding areas, and to relax sometimes, he, Sabina, and local friends would play cards while singing the Alpine songs of the Southern Tyrol - that became part of Italy in 1918. Amelia loved to recall the radio entertainment of her 1930s childhood - the music AND the fascinating mystery dialogue of "THE SHADOW." On her way to grammar school along Anderson Avenue she remembered passing the old barn that town lore knew to be George Washington's Fort Lee Headquarters during the American Revolution. Her daughter Maureen substantially documented the barn with historical research in 1997. In the 1940s, Amelia loved the Big Bands music. One night while watching on TV "The Glenn Miller Story" with her daughter Maureen, the movie showed the Glenn Miller Band playing at a casino in Long Island. Amelia said, "I remember that, I was there for my prom." Amelia and her husband Harry left a wonderful music record collection for their children Robert and Maureen that included George M. Cohan, the Big Bands, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Harry Belefonte, and the Strauss Waltzes. When the movie "The Sound of Music" was shown on TV, Amelia had her mother Sabina watch it. At the movie's end, Sabina quietly got up and went to her bedroom, then returned with a faded yellow envelope. In the envelope was a letter from her sister in Austria - now northern Italy - and an Edelweiss flower. Amelia explained to her mother that the movie was made by the Twentieth-Century Fox Company that began on Linwood Avenue in Fort Lee when Fort Lee was a major motion picture production center from 1909 to 1919, and many residents worked as film extras - including Sabina's five year old daughter Loretta who was in a 1917 film with Mary Pickford at the John Street Paragon Studio that later became Paramount Pictures. When her son died of cancer about two years ago, Amelia was heart broken. Yet her will to live persevered into her nineties - she would take half hour walks, using her walker, with her daughter and climb up and down her condo stairs. When a large external tumor on her arm was diagnosed as cancerous, twice, and she was not able to make five car trips for radiation treatments, Amelia was placed on home hospice. Then something happened that her doctor called a HUGE MIRACLE. In one week, her daughter Maureen watched the tumor shrink each day to the point where it completely dissolved without a trace of flesh or scar tissue. Doctors call it 'spontaneous regression of a tumor' and attribute it to a strong immune system fighting cancer cells. In her final moments when medication eased her pain and her breathing slowed, Amelia strangely would not give up her will to live. When she was advised that her daughter-in-law Kathy expressed her love, Amelia's eyes opened half way, then closed. Then her niece Pamela Flaim visited her bedside. Pam kissed her aunt and said, " Aunt Amelia, I love you, you can go home now. And say hello to my father for me" - who is Amelia's brother William Flaim. That evening, Amelia passed away at 11:30, and the hospice nurse arrived, checked her, and officially declared her death at 12:01 AM. Amelia physically passed away on the wedding anniversary of her son Robert and daughter-in-law Kathy, and was legally pronounced dead on the birthday of her brother William. Amelia was in charge, even at the end.

Nancy Anne Luca, was called to rest on October 27, 2023, in Ridgewood, NJ.

Born on July 2, 1936, to Ignazio and Anna Luca (nee De Persia) at the Columbia- Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY, she was their only child.

Both of her parents emigrated from Italy so this made Nancy First Generation Italian-American. Nancy was a woman of exceptional kindness, loving nature and passionately faith based. She loved her church, Holy Rosary in Edgewater and attended faithfully for more than 45 years. She was also an avid lover of animals. She had over a dozen dogs and cats throughout the course of her lifetime.

Nancy completed her Early Education at PS 189, attending from kindergarten through 6th grade. She then attended Sacred Heart Village for Junior High in Dobbs Ferry and Mother Cabrini HS for her high school years. After High School, she continued her education at Business school, which laid the foundation for her successful career.

Upon graduating from Business School, Nancy worked as a secretary, demonstrating her commitment and dedication at several Fortune 500 companies, including Lever Brothers and Burlington Mills. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her and the love of her life for more than 45 years, Ralph Vincedomini, to open their own business, Vinci International in 1983. The company, which imported Italian and Spanish tiles, was a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Outside of her professional life, Nancy had a deep passion for ballet. Despite not being allowed to study dance as a child, she pursued her love for the art form as an adult, embodying the famous words of George Eliot, "It's never too late to be what you might have been." Nancy studied ballet for many years, never quite fulfilling her dream of becoming a Prima Ballerina but, she performed in several productions and continued to take dance lessons well into her 70s, proving that age is no barrier to pursuing one's passions.

Nancy was a pillar of love, kindness, and faith. She was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her, always ready with a comforting words a warm smile or one of her infamous hugs. Her love extended to her family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She will be deeply missed by her family, Stuart, Rosemary, Michele, and Kaci Kaplan, and her "surrogate daughter" Debora A. Jones.

Her legacy is not just in the successful business she built or the beautiful ballet performances she gave, but in the love and kindness she shared. She was a woman of faith who believed in the power of love and kindness to change the world.

We remember Nancy not just for what she accomplished professionally and artistically, but for the extraordinary person she was. Her love, kindness, and faith-filled life will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known her. As we remember Nancy, we celebrate a life well lived and a woman well loved.

Daniel P. O'Neill, Jr. - June 22, 1922 - October 03, 2023

U.S. Army Private 1st Class Daniel J. O’Neill, born June 22, 1926, faded away on October 3, 2023. At 97, Dan’s was a full life, but it was WWII service that defined him.  Born in New York City and raised in Edgewater, Dan was one of 4 children to Irish immigrants  Helen (Stephens) and Daniel O’Neill, Sr. Living through tough times, the boys took refuge on playing fields. Dan, with a storied left handed curve ball, was All-County Honors at Englewood High. In 1944, “Lefty O’Neill”, the “Edgewater Hurler”, led his team to the championships while the team roster diminished by military conscription. Scouted by the New York Giants, New York’s first professional baseball team, he instead enlisted in the Army with Company K, 114th Infantry Regiment of the 44th Infantry Division. In the Battle of the Bulge, Dan and the 44th defended against the last German offensive of World War II. They endured harsh winter conditions and brutal battles. The 44th further endured the painful discovery of concentration camps. The Nazi’s built and ran over 1,000 camps for the purpose of holding and eliminating whole groups of people, mostly Jewish. Dan helped liberate them, carrying weak and wasted survivors to food and medical care.  At War’s end, Dan was one of 12,000 troops aboard the 2,000-passenger Queen Elizabeth II.  Crammed in a drained swimming pool of the luxury liner, he sailed for New York and never forgot Marlene Dietrich, among millions lining the Hudson River to greet them.  Dan did not pursue a pro ball career, although he did play local leagues, including for the Port Authority Team. He received a bachelor’s degree at Seton Hall and MBA at NYU. He made a career as controller for large corporations.  Dan is survived by his cousin Kay DeLuca (Elmsford, NY), nephews Terry (Albany, NY), Sean (Perryburg, Ohio), Patrick Leary (Bar Harbor), Dennis Leary (Cambridge. MA): nieces Oona Thober, (Gloucester, MA), Moira (Surry, ME) and Eleanor Rose (Cambridge). In Dan’s memory, thank a veteran for their service.

Obituary Preview: Caroline Pittelli, of Fort Lee, passed away on September 27, 2023.  Born on June 17, 1922 to the late Joseph and Eva Pittelli.

Carol was one of the last of a very special generation. She was kind to all, took the time to get a person’s name, loved to reminisce about the old days when she would go into New York City with her friend to listen to music and dance, and was traditional in every sense. She was sure to write thank you notes, send cards, and donate to catholic charities and the VFW. She decorated with such enthusiasm for all the holidays and ate the related holiday meals even though she was on her own.

Carol retired around 40 years ago. Amongst her sentimental photos and papers was a commendation letter from her supervisor for perfect attendance. That was Carol, always on time and reliable, until the end.

She would always say she was never home. Until just a few years ago she was out and about, whether it be shopping, going to her favorite dinner, bakery and grocery stores, or driving down to the Jersey Shore in her Pontiac adorned with American Flag decals.

She regularly talked about her mother and father, and how she and her mother defied odds upon her birth 101 years ago, when the doctor told her father that it was going to be a difficult birth, and his wife and baby may not make it. She would always say that she was a miracle baby and thought it so incredible that she was living such a long and healthy life. She, herself, was amazed by her longevity.

Carol was very strong and independent up until her passing. Dressed every day no matter what, in her seasonal clothing, her Blessed Mother medal, and always a colorful pair of converse sneakers perfectly tied.

Carol lived long enough to see the world transform in front of her very eyes. From personal interactions with people to computers to automated telephone systems – a less personal world.  Nevertheless, she would always say there are still so many good people, and she truly appreciated the people in her life that were kind to her (you know who you are). She was a person who was grateful to God and the Blessed Mother and is remembered by all who knew her as a humble and kind person who always ended a conversation by saying “God Bless You”.

Well… God Bless You Carol. You lived a good and full life. You touched our lives, and we will never forget you.

Raised in Fort Lee NJ, Linda graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels and Katharine Gibbs School. She worked at Scholastic Book Company before marrying James A. Hunt Sr and raising her family. Linda was active in the Fort Lee Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Madonna Church and Madonna School. She retired with her husband to Brick, NJ for 25 years before relocating to Ramsey NJ.

Linda is survived by her children, James and Theresa, Lauren and Paul, Shawn and Josephine and Daniel. Her grandchildren James, Vincent, Julia, Alexa, Kayla and Dylan kept her smiling and laughing through her final days. She adored them all. Linda also leaves behind her beloved brothers and sister in law, Thomas, Robert and June Tessaro, her godfather Uncle Francis, dear nieces, great nieces and nephews, family and friends . She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Rosetta, husband James, nephew Robbie, sister in law Maureen and dear friend Helen.

Gratitude is extended to the doctors of MSK and the entire care team at Villa Marie Claire. Thanks to their efforts , Linda enjoyed over a decade of life with her family and received kind and compassionate end of life care.

Linda will always be remembered for her love and devotion to family…..and QVC.

Mr. Serulle was a proud Business Entrepreneur, who owned a successful shoe and clothing store in Manhattan, “Serulle’s Shoe”. His unwavering commitment was a reflection of his passionate belief in the power of hard work and determination he was able to pass on to his two daughters.

He was a loving husband to his wife, Maxima of 55 years, and a doting father to his daughters, Angie Serulle-Marcus and Luddy Serulle-Green. His son-in-laws, Spencer Marcus and Matthew Green, were more like sons to him. Nothing brought Hector more joy than being a grandfather to Jordana (18), Asher (17), Nova (16), Ellis (15), and Ethan (14). He was their biggest cheerleader, always ready with a word of encouragement or a comforting hug. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

His greatest joy came from being around his family. He was a man who found happiness in the simplest of things. When not with his family, he was watching his beloved New York Yankees. You would hear, “Let’s Go Yankees” throughout the house in the summer.

In the face of adversity, he remained optimistic. He was a man of faith, and his spirit was infectious. He taught us that life is not about the challenges we face, but how we rise above them. His legacy is a testament to his indomitable spirit, a spirit that will continue to inspire us all.
