Funeral services will at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig with burial in Morgan Cemetery near Schleswig. Visitation is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig, and will continue on Monday one hour prior to the funeral. Norma Jean, daughter of Edward J. and Hertha (Thomsen) Evers, was born March 7, 1933, in Denison, Iowa. She grew up in Denison and graduated from Denison High School.

On October 10, 1954, Norma was united in marriage with Alfred F. Schoenfeld at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Norma and Alfred were blessed the birth of three children. They farmed in Schleswig and continued to do so until they retired in 1992. During retirement, Norma enjoyed helping her friends Jolene and Judy in their businesses.

Norma was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig where she volunteered with the LWML and Quilting group. She also served on the Community Club Board and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, coloring, raising chickens and baking, especially angel food cakes and her "secret" ice cream dessert. Norma cherished watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For several years, she was a devoted caregiver Valera Stern.

On Wednesday, October 6, 2022, Norma passed away at Gracewell Eventide in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 29 days.

Norma is survived by three children: Lydell (Laurie) Schoenfeld of Schleswig; Calise (Wes) Thygesen of Audubon and Leon (Janell) Schoenfeld of Carroll; 14 grandchildren: Kelsey, Dave, Adam, Spencer, Dani, Derrick, Brittany, Lexie, Ethan, Kalina (Kenny), Keaton, Kaden and Karsen; 6 great-grandchildren: Jackson, Colt, Vesper, Avery, Luna and Ember; 2 step-grandchildren: Kyndra (Chris) and Lindsay (Darin): 11 step-great-grandchildren: Brock (Chasity), Alexia, Madison, Parker, Hayden, Konner, Ryker, Camden, Jaron, Brennan and Aspen; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren: Everleigh and Emery; a sister-in-law Pat Evers of Pocahontas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alfred Schoenfeld; her siblings: Darlene (Ralph) Vogt, Mardella Evers, Ardell (Henry) Ewoldt, and Derald Evers; and in-laws: Delbert Schoenfeld, Norman and Marilyn Schoenfeld, Alvern and Betty Schoenfeld, & Jim and Narlene Keim.

She grew up on the family farm in Ida County and was baptized and confirmed at Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schleswig. She attended a country school at Hayes #8. She then continued her education at Schleswig Community School, graduating with the Class of 1959. After graduation, Frances attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake for a year and then worked at REC in Denison until she started to raise her family.On May 21, 1961, Frances was united in marriage with Delbert Clausen at United Church of Christ in Schleswig. The couple settled on the family farm near Schleswig and were blessed with three children: Kim, Trent and Steph. Frances was a member of the United Church of Christ in Schleswig. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's school and sporting events, reading books, playing cards at Cousin's Card Club and bridge club. Frances liked working outside, mowing lawn and tending her flower and vegetable garden; When helping on the farm, she was the best at driving the grain cart. Frances was famous for her cut out sugar cookies and chocolate malts. She also enjoyed golfing on Tuesdays and taking vacations with friends.On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Frances passed away at the Buffett Cancer Center at UNMC in Omaha, Nebraska, attaining the age of 80 years, 8 months and 8 days.She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Doug Hollander and Craig Hollander.Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 60 years Delbert Clausen of Schleswig; three children: Kim Kragel and husband Neil of Schleswig; Trent Clausen and wife Shari of Charter Oak; and Stephanie Arkfeld and husband Aaron of Denison; grandchildren: Clint Kragel and wife Shana, Adam Kragel and wife Christine, Tarin Clausen and special friend Corey Stapleton, Hunter Clausen, Allana Arkfeld and Lance Arkfeld; four great-grandchildren: Lucas and Ben Kragel, Mason and Chloe Kragel; and three sisters-in-law: Arlis (Ed) Neddermeyer, Arlene Hollander and Kris Hollander. On July 20, 1996, Diane was united in marriage to Bradley Riessen. To this union, Brad welcomed Diane's two children: Melissa and Cody with open arms.

From Boyer River Rat, June Bug, Old Bag, Mama, Dianimal, and Hot Rod Diane to versions of Roonie, Diane built many fun-loving memories with family and friends. Raised on a farm, she was a natural hard worker who wasn't afraid to get dirty. She was a nature lover and loved the freedom of the great outdoors and all that went with it. She was an animal lover at heart, her pride and joy being with her horses, where she, siblings and cousins rode for endless hours and miles.

She was an avid and passionate gardener. She was a fashionista who loved jewelry and clothes, antiques and bargain-hunting and had a natural talent for home remodeling, decorating and crafting. Her soul became alive when on the Harley or jamming to rock and blues music.

Her passions rose for sports and game shows, often cheering on her grandkids' Tiger teams, favorite players on various teams, the Hawkeyes or Cyclones (so long as it wasn't against the Hawkeyes) or for the Broncos or Vikings (thanks to the Wentzel clan). With her giant smile and giving heart, no matter where or for who, Diane was full of friendship, compassion and generosity to those around her.

Diane passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at her home in Ricketts attaining the age of sixty-five years, eleven months and twenty-nine days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Shirley and brother: Kenneth.

Left to cherish her memory, her husband: Brad Riessen of Ricketts; children: Melissa and her husband Dave Wentzel of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Cody Johnson and his husband Morris Goodwin of Saint Paul, Minnesota; grandchildren: Cole, Lily and Luke Wentzel all of Albert Lea, Minnesota; brother: Jim Neumann and his wife Kandra of Kiron; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig. Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Interment is in Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Memorials may be directed to the family.

She became a baptized child of God on April 2, 1930 at her home in Mapleton and later confirmed her faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa on April 18, 1943. Leila attended St. John's Parochial School in Charter Oak for eight years and Mapleton High School for four years. After graduation, she attended Cosmetology School in Sioux City for one and a half years.

On September 5, 1948, Leila was united in marriage to Gayland Hamann at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Midway. To this union, five children were born: Sheldon, Kathy, Patty, Lyndon and Clinton. In 1995, Gayland passed away from a lengthy illness. On March 29, 1997, Leila married Robert Reimer at their home in Denison and his children, Mary Lynne, Judith, Robert Hugh and Amy Jo became part of her family.

Leila enjoyed sewing, baking and teaching Sunday School. She always looked forward to spending summers at Lake Okoboji. In later years, Leila loved traveling, dancing and playing cards with friends.

Leila passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa attaining the age of ninety-one years and twenty-five days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gayland Hamann and Robert Reimer; sisters, Marge Maxfield and Vera Bennett; brother, Fred Hesse; one step-son, Robert H. Reimer, M.D.

She is survived by her children, Sheldon Hamann and his wife Roxie of Anthon, Iowa; Kathryn and her husband Craig Christiansen of Omaha, Nebraska; Patty and her husband Eddie Fox of Phoenix, Arizona; Lyndon Hamann of Sioux City, Iowa; Clinton Hamann and his husband David Martinez of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Visitation (Without Family Present) is 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Private Family Service is Wednesday, March 24, 2021 also at the church. Interment is in Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig.
