A special thank you to the nursing staff of the Carmelite House for the care and support shown to our mother.
They say a mother is an angel from the moment she gives birth. Our mother was certainly that. She raised 6 children and ensured we were good people. She filled our home with love. She created beautiful memories for us all. Mom made sure we had what we needed and more besides. She told us she loved us; every single day and we felt her love. She stayed up to wait til we were home in bed, she cooked every meal, cared for us when we were sick at all hours and made our home as clean as a whistle. Mom never wavered from being our mom! She made sure we went to church, made our sacraments and encouraged us all to continue in her strong Catholic faith. Yes, she loved us, but also encouraged us. She just wanted us to be independent, successful and good people. She did a tremendous job as a mother and we appreciate the life she gave us growing up. There will never, ever be another love in our lives like the gentle love shown to us by our mother.
Fly high, be happy with those you’ve lost and missed. Be at peace until we meet again, our sweet mother. We will always love and remember you…and count our mercies…. Thou Shalt Be With Me In Paradise - Luke 23: 32-43
Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Carmelite House.

Patrick Francis Morgan - January 29, 1954 - December 02, 2023

Departed: 12/02/2023 (Bishop's Falls)
Obituary Preview: It is with immense sadness and much love that the family of the late Patrick Francis Morgan announce his sudden passing at his home in Bishop’s Falls on December 2, 2023 at the age of 69 years. To know Pat was to know a kind and gentle man. He was a quiet old soul…that was until he started talking about a topic he was passionate about, and then there was no stopping him. He could often be found around the yard, taking apart a motor, or trying to find a part so he could put it back together. He dearly loved the outdoors, especially making the trip to Moore’s Cove with his father-in-law, Art, and his buddy, Terry, to try and catch a few cod. He loved moose hunting with his buddy, George, and rabbit catching and trout fishing as well. He spent many a day in cutting wood with his brothers, Leo and Pete, no doubt having a laugh, of course. He also loved helping his buddy, Bob, with various jobs when needed. One of Pat’s favorite things to do in recent years was hanging out in the shed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs with his boys, and the darts crowd. He was always quite certain that Toronto would eventually win the Stanley Cup, but we’re still waiting! One thing was for sure, though, you could always count on Pat for so many things. He was always there when you needed him, without question, and no matter what time of day or night. He did them all with a heart and a half, a giggle, and a smile
Pat’s pride and joy of his life were his sons, Kyle and Kristopher. Pat dearly loved listening to Kyle play the accordion, guitar, the spoons, and many other instruments. He always made the time to entertain Kyle’s ideas of making homemade instruments. His creations included a banjo, a guitar, and a whistle out of an alder, to name a few. Pat also made a scattered spinner upon Kyle’s request. Kris, as Pat fondly knew, was a lot like his father. Kris also loves getting his hands dirty, and is good with a wrench, just like his dad! Pat was so proud of Kris when he redid the motor in the Honda Civic over in Norm’s garage. Pat was there to guide him along, but beamed with pride as Kris demonstrated his mechanical abilities all on his own! It is quite evident, through the many hours upon hours that Kris and his dad spent together, just how much they had in common, and the love and respect they had for each other. Pat will always be the shining light for his boys.
Pat is lovingly reunited with his mother and father, Julia and Walter Morgan, his brother, Frankie, his sister, Anne, and his nephew, Dennis MacDonald. Pat leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his sons, Kyle and Kristopher, Tracy, brothers, Leo (Carolyn) and Peter (Sharon Osmond); sisters, Liz (Bob Hobbs), Cathy, Hilda (Manny Ferreira), Frances (Dave Head), Margaret (Roger Sentner) and Theresa (Owen Butler), mother and father-in-law, Kathleen and Arthur Stone, sisters-in-law, Tanya (Rob), Tina (Mark) and brother-in-law, Johnny (Kristina). Pat also had many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, and a large circle of family and friends, and he treasured each of them dearly. “Those we love can never be more than a thought away, For as long as there’s a memory, they live in our hearts to stay.” - Author Unknown We love you always, Dad/Pat!
Upon Pat’s request, cremation has taken place.

Lillian Joan Cantwell - November 04, 1936 - September 22, 2023

Departed: 09/22/2023 (Bishop's Falls)
Obituary Preview: Lillian Joan Cantwell passed peacefully at her home in Bishop’s Falls on Sept. 22, 2023 at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard Cantwell; parents: Anne and William Dunphy; sisters: Betty, Ruth, Marie; brothers: Tom, David and Paul. She leaves to mourn her sons: Paul (Cathy), Jim, John (Laura), David (Denine) and her daughter Karen (Barry). She also leaves her grandchildren: Danielle (Chris) Tibbs, Scott (Char) Cantwell, Emma Street, Michael, Rodney, Chloe, Terri-Lynn, Luke, Jake, Charis and Christie; great-grandchildren: Declan and Xander Tibbs; her sisters: Janice (Richard) Duder, Patricia (David) Messervey, Ann Connors; brothers: Bill (Elsie) Dunphy and Ronald (Gertrude) Dunphy and a circle of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Grand Falls on November 5, 1936. She married her true and only love Bernard on April 15, 1959. They were blessed with five children: four boys and one girl. Lillian was a caring mother, sister, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted friend.
In recent years, Lillian struggled with medical issues, but had the most excellent care from everyone at the Grand Falls-Windsor Cancer Clinic. Lillian will be remembered for her strength and positive outlook on life.
Lillians’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Lush, Dr. Diedericks and all the nurses and staff of the Central Newfoundland Reginal Hospital. A TRIBUTE TO LILLIAN JOAN CANTWELL a.k.a. NIN
Many things come to mind when you hear the name Nin Cantwell. To many, it brings warm feelings of homecooked meals and full bellies, to others she was a kind ear that listened. However you knew her, you knew love and acceptance. Lillian in her younger hears was a force by nature raising five children, gardening and always minding to the birds.
She loved with her whole heart, whether it was picking berries with her sisters or having tea with friends, she loved whatever the day had to bring.
Going for drives was always a favorite, didn’t matter where. When her husband Bern was alive it was a favorite past-time followed by a snack of Mary Browns. When he passed those drives were taken over by her best friend, daughter and complete caregiver Karen. Karne was her rock through so many ups and downs.
Lillian was a pillar, the matriarch of the family. She loved baseball and figure skating and had a great sense of humor. Lillian may have only had five children but she was a mom and nan to so many in the community. If you ever had her home-made bread, you had her heart. If you were lucky enough to get a pot pie, you were family.
Above everything that she loved were her grandkids and great-grandkids. She made it clear she was nan not grandma. They were her pride and joy.
She was a broach wearing, jam making, bottom of your belly laughing, best nan anyone could ask for.
We were all very blessed to have had her for 86 years and the world is a better place because of her. We will miss  her forever and love her for always. By granddaughter Danielle

Stephen James Langdon - February 15, 1973 - September 18, 2023

Departed: 09/18/2023 (Bishop's Falls)
Obituary Preview: Passed away on September 18, 2023 after a lengthy illness, Stephen James Langdon, at the age of 50 years. Stephen is predeceased by his beloved mother, Jessie Langdon. He leaves to mourn his father, Alwin Langdon; sisters, Helena (Brian) Procter, Beverly Langdon, and Rosetta (Phillip) Johnson; brothers, Austin (Juanita), Byron, Rickey (Sylvia), Elmer (Thi Hong), Harvey (Lisa) and Eldred. Pastor Jeremy Foss conducted the funeral service from Calvary Pentecostal Church in Bishop's Falls on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00am. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Cottrell's Cove.
Stephen was a much beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a firm belief in Jesus and what He did on the cross, for him and others, and used every open door to point others to Jesus’ love and grace. Stephen broke the current day mold for an evangelist, but that gift along with reconciliation were Stephen's God-given gifts. He led many people to Jesus before he moved back to NL and he continued to share the "Good News" at every open door after relocating. Wherever Stephen was, he encouraged reconciliation from mankind to God and mankind to each other. He was a peacekeeper often putting others before himself. He offered valuable advice in his quiet non- judgmental demeanor that helped many others. He was a great listener and loyal friend. A gentleman and a gentle man whom everyone loved. Stephen was a fastidious workman and skilled in many crafts and was able to enjoy a varied career from building a house to the intricate work of furniture making. He could turn his hand to most any task that involved wood, and he would easily get so focused on his work that he would forget to eat! (Anyone who knows) Stephen knows he had the most profound healthy appetite. He could polish off a whole chicken and still say he was hungry! Now we know why! Stephen thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor life. When he had time from work there was nothing better (in his book) than having smoked mackerel and toasted baloney in the woods. He enjoyed the ski-doo races with his equally crazy niece. Even when he got wiped out a few times, he was always up for another race and another laugh! He was known for his dry or self-proclaimed “silly” humor and would proudly say “I’m just like mudder”. Stephen has also been known to strip down to his underwear and go for a swim in a public place if he was too hot and forgot his trunks! Stephen had the most beautiful infectious smile that would light up any room. His rare green eyes had a special twinkle. He was a kind, encouraging, supportive, and dedicated man. He always had a laugh bubbling under the surface - ready to spill out - and when he laughed, everyone had to laugh - it was catching! Stephen loved all his family, and all the family loved Stephen. He has a special place in all our hearts. We will miss him so much. We are looking forward to that joyful reunion with you in Heaven Stevie! Until then … ♥️♥️♥️
Donations can be made in Stephen's memory to the Botwood Goodwill Centre. Please contact Amy at 1-709-257-2624.
The service will be live streamed from our public  Facebook page, "Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle."  Using the search engine, enter @CPTBishopsFalls or use this link: https://www.facebook.com/CPTBishopsFalls.
