Dean Ianni - Unknown - May 25, 2021

Departed: 05/25/2021 (Denver)
Obituary Preview: Dino Ianni, age 63, passed away at home on May 25, 2021. Born September 1st in Peoria, Illinois to Dino Ianni and Dolores Schaeffer, Dino followed in the footsteps of his father with a love for all things radio. In addition to senior management positions at radio stations in Denver and New Mexico, Dino was involved in business development and start-ups as a consultant, and most recently, as a partner in PantherTec, a human performance enhancement company.
In November, 2002, Dino married Sue Coughlin and devoted his life to her and to his family and friends. Dino helped guide his sons into lifelong passions for music, sports, cars, comedy, cuisine, travel, and so much more. From watching the Cubs lose in heartbreaking fashion, to the comedy of Bill Murray, to enjoying a good scotch and cigar on a Wisconsin lake, his legacy is found in reminders everywhere. Dino will always be remembered for his sense of humor, unwavering love, unmatched depth of wisdom, his sensibility, leadership, honesty, and his judgement of character.
From Les McCann to Asleep At The Wheel, from Marvin Gaye to The Who, Dino's musical taste was as diverse as it was vast. His musical acumen and "ear" led to a lifetime love and appreciation for music of all genres. Although Dino never learned how to play music, he knew music. And he planted that seed for his boys who continue that tradition of music appreciation, discussion, and discovery.
A once dominant and feared football player with a full ride offer to the University of Michigan, Dino seamlessly migrated to the role of coach later in his life. Hundreds of children in Aurora can trace their sports origins or memories to coach Dino. Ahead of his time, he always emphasized enjoyment and knowledge over winning and screaming. He loved the Green bay Packers and Chicago Cubs but more importantly, he loved watching them with his three sons.
Their blended family consisted of Dino’s sons, Tony Ianni, Dino Ianni and Kenton Hanson (Stephanie) and Sue’s children: Lori Inskeep (Jo Shattuck); Brian Inskeep (Staci); Wendy Skaalerud (Erik). There are ten grandchildren.  Also surviving Dino are two siblings: Debora Limmer (Heinz) and Denise Ianni and two nieces. Dino’s brother, David Ianni, preceded him in death.

Sherilee Ann Heilman - August 05, 1975 - May 09, 2021

Departed: 05/09/2021 (Denver)
Obituary Preview: The world lost Sherillee Heilman on Mother’s Day this year. A beloved mother, daughter, wife, sister, and friend.  It’s been raining ever since that day.. we had a moment of light, to recoup and gather hope within ourselves. Mom always gave us direction. Raising Jeff, Valiere, Bre, Autumn, Ricky, and Timmy was only a portion of what she did for this world. There are so many people that have something to thank her for; because that’s who she was. She would always give and wouldn’t ask for anything in return. She was the glue for this family; the person who cared the most about us all being together as one. She was home. Wherever she was, home was. She had the mental and physical fortitude to survive two run-ins with Cancer; impressive, to say the least. Her passion for a clean house will go unrivaled...! She leaves behind a loving husband, Mark, and all of her siblings; Harrison, John, Richard, and David. Her mother, Carrie, misses her very much. Her daughter-in-law, Demi, and her son-in-law, Teylor, miss her very much. As we all do: uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Her grandkids were the most important to her: Ayden, Kinsley, Adlas and one on the way.  Losing her is the hardest part of this life we are lucky to be living. She’ll never be forgotten. As she took with her the biggest part of our identities: Home.

Obituary Preview: Laurie was introduced to the world on December 20th, 1959 to her Mother and Father Ed and Nidia in Panama City Panama. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Sacramento, CA where Laurie would be raised as a bonified California Girl. Throughout her scholastic career she enjoyed playing the violin, basketball and loved public speaking, which would provide her with her phenomenal orator skills later in her career. She attended the Citrus Heights public school system and would graduate to go on to earn her Associates of the Arts from American River College.
From the young age of 16, Laurie immediately began working for the United States Government as a student employee for the Department of Defense as a GS-3. Upon graduation she became a permanent employee and the rest, is as they say “history.” Through many obstacles that come with being a minority woman, she fought to eventually become the Director of Human Resources for the Bureau of Reclamation, and in 2008 took her most infamous leap to join the United States Mint in Denver Colorado. Upon Laurie’s departure her position at the Mint was Deputy Director with over 200 employees under her wing and guidance. This was a highly coveted and respected position that she held with honor and grace.
Outside of her family, there was nothing Laurie loved more than her career. It was her passion and fueled her flame that burned and never waivered over a span of what would have been 45 years June of 2021. Laurie was strong and dedicated always offering wisdom, grace and generosity on her quest to uplift and inspire every person she came in contact with. She had a brilliant spirit constantly revealed through the selfless love she exhibited. Her smile and sparkle in her eye could turn any bad day to a pleasant experience. In her presence, the atmosphere was always light and full of laughter and love, a sound that will sorely be missed. Laurie was a tremendous example of hard work, motivation and patience and strived to teach others so that these fundamental characteristics would live on.
Laurie’s hobbies included but are not limited to dancing, playing cards, bingo and slot machines, watching crime shows, shopping and spending most of her time laughing and traveling with family.
The weight of Laurie’s absence will be heavy but we will now rest assured that she is no longer suffering and in God’s hands.
She is survived by Nidia (Mother), Ed (Brother), Sabrina (Niece), Amanda (Daughter), Cash (Grandson) and a host of other loving family and friends.
If you wish to join the family for the Graveside Service on Wednesday 21st, April, then please use the Fairmount Cemetery Main Gate, which you will find on Alameda.

MaryKay Ellis - August 31, 1934 - April 12, 2021

Departed: 04/12/2021 (Denver)
Obituary Preview: MaryKay Ellis, age 86, passed away on April 12, 2021 at Denver Hospice Lowry.
MaryKay was born Mary Katherine Murray, in Denver, Colorado on August 31, 1934.  Her parents, Margaret (Culliton) Murray and Bernard (Bud) Murray, were 2nd generation Irish immigrants and she was their only child.
MaryKay and Joe Ellis met while on a double date however, Joe was not her date.  Joe was so taken with her down to earth personality, smile, and beauty, he got her number and asked her out to dinner.  Almost two years later, on June 14, 1958, they wed at St. Vincent de Paul church.  Their marriage was built on love, honesty, valuing each other, and most importantly humor.
After the birth of their first child, MaryKay decided to become a full-time mom and homemaker.  MaryKay and Joe were blessed with 3 more children.  Her children can attest to the fact there were many a day it probably did not feel like having 4 little blessings.  To the end, she scolded, hugged, listened, laughed, and cried with us.  Always supportive and kind, she was proud of all her children.
As the children grew, MaryKay took on a part-time job with Denver Public Schools retiring in 1994.  The family continued to grow, adding 4 grandchildren over the years.  Having grandbabies brought an entirely new level of creative entertainment, fun, and holiday traditions.  Who could not have a special place in their heart for a grandma who taught them how to play Blackjack and bet nickels?  She is and will always be deeply loved by all her grandchildren.
She loved socializing with her friends and their time together.  Trying new restaurants, reading, and even took up square dancing with Joe for almost a decade.  She was always on the hunt for the best deals for any category.  She never missed an important event in her children’s or grandchildren’s lives and loved the standing family Wednesday happy hours.
MaryKay was admitted to Porter Hospital with a fractured hip on March 31st, we did not know how little precious time we had left.  She had a stroke on April 8th, and never regained consciousness.  She will live in a special place in all our hearts forever.
MaryKay will be remembered as an extraordinary woman, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who got her family through the tough times and celebrated during the good times.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joe Ellis, her children, Chris Ellis, Mike Ellis, Diana Ellis & Ric Navarro, and Susan Ellis, and grandchildren Fallon Gillespie & Josh Rangel, Brooke Gillespie, Devin Ellis, and Trajan Abbass.
Funeral Services will be held April 26, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2375 E. Arizona Ave, Denver CO 80210.  Committal will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, immediate family only.  Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the funeral services.
