A native of Olean, NY, David attended school in Newark Valley, NY and joined the Marine Corps in 1981. During his time as a Marine he served on the U.S.S. Saratoga (CV-60) in the Mediterranean as an aviation mechanic working on the Grumman A-6Intruder aircraft. His love of aviation continued after service as he became a pilot as well as opening David Jones Aircraft Services at the Cortland County Airport (N03). Despite his own struggles, David was always willing to help any friend in need. He is survived by his parents; Timothy and Sharon Jones; his siblings Jeffrey and Eileen; nephews Matthew and Joshua along with extended members of the Jones and Carney families. Obituary Preview: Our beloved mother, sister and aunt, Cynthia Millie Rigual ended her brave and valiant battle with cancer on April 14, 2022 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of Miguel Rigual and Evelyn Sanchez. She was known for her charismatic sense of humor and for being a caring and compassionate person. She loved her children more than anything and fought her cancer valiantly with strength and determination so she could continue to be here with them. She was proud to have worked as an EMT for Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad. She leaves behind her broken-hearted family; her children Dajah, Angel, Dayshawn, Dayshawnna, Diamond, Serenity and Lukas; her sisters Aracelis, Sandra and Janet; nieces, nephews cousins any many special friends. Obituary Preview: Carrie Ann Bishop, 42, passed into the waiting arms of the Lord on April 13, 2022. She is survived by her beloved family; parents David C. and Judy Bishop; sisters Wendy (Kevin) Getchell and Amy (Jeramie) Rounds; seven nieces and nephews, Hannah, Jakob, Landon, Constance, Ethan, Jamie and Jeramie (Bubba), Jr.; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. She was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents; Robert and Beverly Lane, David T. and Myra Bishop and special cousin Robbie Williams. Carrie enjoy participating in the Special Olympics. She also enjoyed bowling, puzzles, watching games shows, and fishing, especially on the many family trips to Black Lake. Carrie graduated from the BOCES Special Education program (Pal Division) in the Class of 2000. She joyfully participated in the BOCES Helping Hands as a member of their bell choir and in sign language. On her own initiative and in her own way, Carrie found a way to do the things people never expected she could do. She enjoyed working at Achieve where she earned the distinction of being named State Employee of the Year in 2011. She also loved worshiping and singing at the Lighthouse Community Church in Windsor, where she was a member. The family will hold a private celebration of her life at the Lighthouse Community Church with Pastor Kevin Rollo officiating. They extend their deepest appreciation to Pastor Rollo, and the medical staff at Wilson Hospital CVICU and NW 4, for the special care and attention they provided to Carrie Ann during her illness.

She was born a "Moon child" in the family home on July 16, 1960, the ninth of thirteen children born to James and Audrey Criscitello. She was a 1977 graduate of Johnson City High School and later earned her Associate's Degree in Communications from Broome Community College. She was a self-proclaimed Voluntarist and enjoyed debating politics with the best of them. She loved cooking and baking, especially experimenting with new recipes. She was also an incredibly talented artist who could up-cycle and re-purpose almost anything. Her entire adult life was a journey of self-improvement. Connie's truest passion though was her grandsons- her life revolved around them. Everything she did, she did with them in mind. She is survived by her daughter Maria (Bill) Huddleston; grandsons Joey Criscitello and Billy Huddleston; siblings Bonnie (Mike), Donna, Lynn (Tony), Rocky (George), Patti, Tony (Jeanine), Nancy (John), Doug (Linda), Amy and Carin (Larry). She was a Life Member and Past President of the VFW Post 478 Auxiliary; a member and Past New York State President of the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary, anda member of the Community Baptist Church in Port Dickinson. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00-4:00 pm. The VFW Auxiliary will conduct a service at 3:30 pm Sunday. She will be buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Town of Dickinson at a later date.

Obituary Preview: James L. Ellis, Sr., 75, of Johnson City, passed away March 31, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda R. Ellis and son Jimmy Ellis. He is also survived by his sisters Shirley (Ernie) Harrington, Karen Connors, Sharon Curley, Linda (Paul) Stasiuk, brother Richard Ellis, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Susan and Lionel Ellis. Jim enjoyed growing up in the country outside of Binghamton. He graduated from JC High School and Broome Tech CC where he met Linda. He continued his studies at Central Connecticut State University and completed his BS degree at SUNY Binghamton. He enjoyed corresponding with his former roommate Dave for over 50 years. Jimretired from IBM after 35 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He formerly played softball in the IBM League and also for Boulevard Methodist Church and Primitive Methodist Church, where he had been a member. While a member of Trout Unlimited he enjoyed fly fishing and fly tying and was a member of the Fly Tiers Club. In his lifetime, he enjoyed spending time with his friends fishing, golfing, playing tennis, traveling, gardening and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. One accomplishment he talked about was climbing Mt. Marcy. He also enjoyed meeting with his friends Bob and Bill for breakfast and fly fishing with Butch. He was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about history. Jim will be missed every day. She is survived by her children Thomas J. (Anra) Hriciga of Kelso, WA, Sue A. Hriciga of Amesbury, MA, and Hal E. (Chandra) Hriciga of Greene, NY; grandchildren James, Trevor and Vishwani; great-grandchildren Raju, Arjun and Madalynn. During WWII Jeanette worked at IBM as a "Rosie the Riveter", supporting the war effort while her husband served overseas in Europe. Later, she was one of the first female employees hired by the United States Post Office, beginning as a Postal Clerk and retiring as Carrier Supervisor at the Binghamton Post Office. Jeanette was imbued with personal strength and determination, working tirelessly to care for her family and friends to whom she was deeply devoted and always available when needed. She enjoyed being outdoors and kept active by participating in outdoor activities year round, a passion she passed down to her children. She was an avid bicyclist and was a long time member of the Southern Tier Bicycle Club. Jeanettewas politically informed and active as a member of Citizen Action. Her hobbies were working with stained glass and gardening.Jeanette enjoyed dancing with her husband to polkas and the Big Band style of music, particularly the Glen Miller Orchestra. In her own words summing up her life, "I am content". Vincent Miceli - July 03, 1932 - March 22, 2022

Miceli, 89, of Conklin, NY, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, March 22, 2022, and now is reunited with his beloved and devoted wife of 65 years, Barbara “Barb” (Martin) Miceli, who pre-deceased him in December 2020, and their only daughter, Catherine “Cathy” (Miceli) DeVaul, in June 2018. Vince is survived by his only granddaughter, Mallory DeVaul (Ambrose Kline) and children, Zian and Amira Kline, Burdett, NY; Mallory became his primary caregiver and graciously opened her home to care for her grandfather during the final six months of his life. Other survivors include son-in-law Gary DeVaul, Binghamton, NY, who helped with Vince’s (and Barb’s) personal care allowing them to remain in their Conklin home during their illnesses and health challenges. Additional survivors are: brothers-in-law David Martin (wife Dale), Seneca, SC, and Dennis Martin (wife Merri Markovitch), Johnson City, NY; sister-in-law LaDonn Martin, Cortland, NY; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family in the Martin and Nordberg families in FL, NC, NY, PA, and CO. Vince was pre-deceased by his mother C.Jeannette Miceli; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ross Jr. and Lucille Martin, who considered Vince as their son; brother-in-law Ross Martin III; and his father Alfonso Miceli. Known for his humor and stories, Vince was born in Binghamton on July 3, 1932, and grew up in the downtown neighborhood near St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He graduated from Binghamton North High School where he played football and began his lifelong passion for the sport, especially for the NY Giants, his favorite team. He served in the Naval Reserves, graduated from Broome Tech (now SUNY Broome, Binghamton), and worked as an emulsion chemist, retiring from Anitec Corp. (former Ansco and GAF, Binghamton). His early employment included working on the railroad which inspired his lifelong interest in trains and at the A&P grocery store in Binghamton where he met his wife Barb. Vince enjoyed family time (Christmas, birthdays, picnics, reunions, park concerts, parades), photography (including being the “official” photographer/videographer at family gatherings), model trains, vacationing at the beach (NJ and FL), and traveling every spring to Fort Myers Beach, FL, where he and Barb made many lasting friendships they both cherished. They both looked forward to Scranton, PA’s, annual LaFesta Italiano every Labor Day weekend with “front row seats” enjoying the entertainment, Italian food, and fellowship with their many friends there. Vince’s final and personal message to all he knew and loved... “Thanks everyone for the memories!” A memorial and burial will be announced at a later time, and memorial contributions in Vince’s name can be made to a charity of your choice. Kenneth loved the outdoors, he especially enjoyed camping hiking and boating at Blue Mnt. Lake, and he was a member of the polish community center. He fought with cancer quietly and bravely with his devoted wife Nancy by his side. They were getting ready to celebrate their 20-year anniversaryon May 18th. Growing up as the last born in a big family, Duke learned the value of hard work. He worked for Laborers Local Union #7 for 57 years and for the Binghamton City School District for several years after his retirement. He loved his family more than anything. Duke had a big and strong personality with a soft and gentle heart. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and enjoyed gathering with the Italian Lunch Bunch at the Relief Pitcher. Velazquez, her children Norma Fuentes, Lourdes Fuentes, Salvador Pacheco and Rosa Hernandez; her grandchildren Analise, Xavier, Bradley and Aurora; and one brother Carlos. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Lourdes. Marcia is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Susan Shuman of Portland, OR and Andy and Nancy Shuman of Vestal; her grandchildren David Shuman, Andrea Shuman-Arevalo and Katie Shuman; great-grandchildren Phoenix and Gabriel; nephews Jonathan Charles Fox and Harry Shuman and partner Aaron Wade, who were an important part of Marcia's life, many other nieces, nephews and cousins; sister-in-law Sylvia Shuman, dear friends Helen Salm, Art and Suzanne Siegel, Mary McIntyre and Elizabeth Rappaport. Marcia was predeceased by her beloved husband George, her parents Arthur and Helen Fox and her brother Matthew Fox. Marcia will be remembered for her stylish appearance throughout life and for being a gracious hostess. She was a lifelong member of Temple Israel, the Temple Israel Sisterhood and Hadassah. Marcia had a deep love for dogs and with George helped raise dogs forthe Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She also enjoyed the many winters she spent with George at their home in Arizona. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Temple Israel, 47373 Deerfield Place, Vestal. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Johnson City. There are no calling hours. She is preceded in death by her parents and step father Robert Starr. Also preceded by her loving husband of 62 years Fred Brenchley, her son Gary Brenchley, her brothers Robert Starr and David Starr. She is survived by her children; Charles Brenchley, Greenwood, Ark. Brenda and David Maslar of Binghamton NY, Linda Slater of Greenwood, Ark. Calvin Brenchley of Greenwood, Ark., Donna and John VanGorder of Greenwood, Ark. and 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren. Also her sister-in-law Connie Starr, brothers Willie and Linda Starr, Dan and MaryJane Starr as well as several nieces and nephews. Dottie was born in NY, she graduated from Vestal High School. She lived in Johnson City, NY until her retirement from IBM, where she and Fred moved to Rural Retreat. After Fred’s passing, she moved to Greenwood, Ark to be close to her family. Dottie loved to go camping and traveled all over with her husband in their RVs. The last few years she enjoyed spending time at her places, one in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma and the other in Fort Meyers, Florida. She was an avid reader, she loved flowers, especially yellow roses. She has collections of butterflies and giraffes in her house. She was a very independent person, living alone and taking care of herself and her house up until her recent illness. When Dottie and Fred lived in NY they both belonged and was active in several of the Masonic organizations. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Burial will follow in Vestal Park Cemetery. She not only loved her own family deeply, but opened herhome to an extended family of her children's friends and those she provided child care for over the years. She took great delight in family get-togethers, especially enjoying the opportunity to cook and bake for everyone, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
