Ronald York - August 26, 1932 - February 15, 2024

Departed: 02/15/2024 (Logan)
Obituary Preview: Ronald “Brother” York, 91, of Logan, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15, 2024, after a long life full of love and servanthood to God. He was born alongside his beloved twin brother on August 26, 1932, in Logan, West Virginia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Norman York; his precious wife of 55 years, Joann Elizabeth York; his twin brother, Donald; his sister, Betty; nephew, Donnie York, along with many friends and loved ones along the way.
His love story with Joann bloomed with the cherry blossoms in Washington DC when he was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base with his twin brother.
Married in October of 1955, they welcomed their daughter, Donna Jean York Williams (Don-Jean), into the world a year later on Halloween.
Being an identical twin himself, we can only imagine his joy in becoming a papaw to twin girls, Leanna Jean (Keith) Coffman and Joana Beth.
In 2010, he was promoted to great-grandfather with the birth of his first great-grandson, Liam York Chandler. Known as Papaw Liam, he's got the personality and eyes of his papaw.
More great-grandchildren came with Jackson Blake, Tiffany Grace, and (you guessed it) twin great-grandchildren Kennedy Jean and Kate Jordan along with a bonus great-grandchild who he dearly loved and always said was a handsome fella, Carson.
In addition to many loving friends and family over the years, he is also survived by nieces Judy Steele Baisden Evans, Kelli York Bryant, and nephew, David Steele. Scrappy the dog, his caretaker and friend Megan, and his best friends Doug and William.
Our Dad and Papaw were known in our community not only for the family business York’s TV and Appliances and that little red Toyota truck but also as a man of God and a Minister. Some of our favorite memories are when he would sing in church with his wife, Joann. Songs like "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden," "The Old Ship of Zion," to name a few.
All his life, he preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to as many as he encountered. We are confident at this very moment he is casting his many crowns at the feet of Jesus and encountering souls that were led to Christ through his ministry. As his mantle fell Thursday morning, his oldest Granddaughter prayed for it to fall on her as she continues his legacy of ministry.
Ronald was a kind, sensitive man with quiet confidence. He kept peace and always tried to understand others and approached life with love. He led by Godly example and turned the other cheek more times than could be counted. Arrangements for a memorial service are incomplete at this time, but donations to cover final costs can be made to https://gofund.me/91a22b1e (https://gofund.me/91a22b1e) Honaker Funeral Home is in charge of cremation services
