Keiko Boody - September 05, 2006 - February 02, 2024

Departed: 02/02/2024 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: Keiko Marie Boody was a 17 year old Shiba Inu who went to doggy heaven on February 2, 2024. She leaves behind her Parents and her little sister, Mika. She was born near Granite Falls, MN and received her wings in New Market, MN.
Throughout her life she loved to play in the snow, go for walks and car rides, chase animals, eat rawhide, give her mommy tons of kisses, hog the bed at night, curl up with mommy or daddy on the couch, lay in the sun, and was always trying to steal her sisters food. Keiko was an excellent Shiba singer, especially during car rides or when treats were around.
In 2006 I surprised my girlfriend for her birthday when I came home with this stunning little black, white, and brown Shiba Inu. Immediately she and mommy had a special bond. As a puppy, “Princess” Keiko Marie thrived in our first floor apartment. We had a walkout to a wooded area so it was perfect. She was a very playful, energetic, and loving puppy. When she was four, we bought a house with a big back yard that daddy always promised her. Eight months after moving in, we brought home her little Shiba sister, Mika. This is when we knew we really had a special dog. At no point did Keiko ever show anything but love to this new little pup coming into her house. Keiko was very playful with her and welcomed Mika into her life with open paws. As Mika grew, you could see how much Keiko loved having a sister. They were always playing and chasing each other and laying side by side. As the years flew by, Keiko continued to be the perfect Princess. Although not as playful in her later years, she still loved going out in her yard with her sister, singing in the car and still trying to steal her sisters food. After turning 15, we noticed Keiko was having some issues. She was eventually diagnosed with Canine Cognitive Disorder (CCD) or doggy Alzheimer’s. Our Princess slowly declined over the next few years but she still had the “foodie” in her eating all her meals up until her passing.
Keiko was an amazing dog and she blessed us with a very long life of 17 years 4 months. We could not have asked for a better girl. Our hearts are broken and many tears have been shed. But we know she’s a happy and healthy doggy running around again in heaven which helps with sadness. Saying good bye was the hardest thing that we’ve had to do. But we take solace in knowing she received her wings while in her home as mommy and daddy were holding her. She peacefully passed away at 10:51 AM.
One day we’ll all meet again and be happy. We love you and miss you so much Princess Keiko Marie. You left many paw prints on our hearts. You’ll be forever loved and remembered. Love, Mommy, Daddy, and Mika

Coco Larson - January 01, 2011 - January 19, 2024

Departed: 01/19/2024 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: Coco was a 12-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who was deeply loved by family, friends, and even complete strangers who got the opportunity to meet her. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. While Coco was a little dog only weighing about 6 pounds, she had the biggest personality and was the Princess of the house. She loved her family, playing with her favorite toys, eating as many carrots as we would give her, chasing and barking at every squirrel in sight, and making the perfect bed out of any fuzzy blanket that was left out.
Coco, you left paw prints on our hearts forever, and because of you, we have so many happy memories. Your mom loved how you would jump up on the bed and pull clothes off the bedpost to make them into your own little nest to sleep in. Your dad loved how you would run into the office with your favorite toy, Monkey, demanding to play while he was getting ready for work. Your sister loved taking you for car rides to Culver’s. You LOVED Culver’s, especially the fries, and there will always be one saved for you. Your brother loved how excited you would be whenever we would step in the door from being gone. We love you, little Cookie Girl. We will miss you greeting us at the door whenever we get home and seeing you literally smile at us out of excitement. Until we meet again, sweet Coco girl. Our house will never be the same…
We love you and will miss you forever. Your mom, dad, sister, and brother 🐾🐶🩷

Rusty Fiebiger - December 01, 2010 - December 05, 2023

Departed: 12/05/2023 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: How do we put into words how we feel about our precious cat, Rusty who unfortunately succumbed to tongue cancer on December 5, 2023. He walked into our lives after having lived at a cabin which was located directly behind the one that we were renting at the time. In hindsight, we found out that his family was going through a divorce. Though we believe that he was loved by them, at one time, he ended up finding himself to be lower on their priority list throughout all of the chaos. Repeatedly he would show up on our doorstep at 3:00 a.m. when I would return home from my hospital job. We would hear this tiny little meow each night. We looked around and would see this itty-bitty orange and white long-haired kitten, prowling around the front door. For a long time, we thought that he must belong to someone in the area. No one claimed him when we inquired whether or not he had a home nearby. Therefore, we decided to adopt him. When we first took him to the Veterinarian to be neutered, he was initially scrawny and unkempt. However, he soon blossomed into one of the most beautiful cats you would ever see. Another factor which played an important part in his adoption was that he did not seem to be able to take care of himself around other cats. He appeared to be targeted by them and would hide, or cower instead of fighting back. Throughout his whole lifetime, we had to be especially careful to not let him get loose because we were afraid that he could again be bullied by strange cats.
Rusty always had big dogs around him. He adored them and would show his affection to them by bumping their heads, laying close to them and even jostling with them. First, he had Samantha, his 16 year old beauty who was so gentle with him. They were best buds! Next, he had Frazier and Charlie. When he and our other cat, Cameron first saw these two majestic-looking Shepherds, they fell off their chair and ran into another room. Soon thereafter, their bond was never to be-broken until our beloved dogs passed. Next, we adopted Diesel and Zoey, our two other beautiful and loving German Shepherds. Though Diesel loves to run and chase the cats playfully, he surprisingly left Rusty alone; not bothering him in this manner. When Rusty became sick, Zoey instantly took to the role of Nursemaid. She would continually lick off the food from his face. You see, as his cancer took hold, the little dear had much difficulty eating due to his tongue lolling out of his mouth. Toward the end we referred to him as our dear "little pigpen." Rusty shared the house with two different house cats during his 14 years of life. First, he was with Cameron. My sister can tell you that they initially hated one another. However, they soon grew to be buddies and would lay back-to-back on a soft bed with the sun shining through the windows. Cameron and Rusty were closer to the same age, so they knew how to play and then rest, to create balance. However, when our sweet Cameron passed away, we adopted Nicholas. He was much younger than Rusty and wanted to play with him continuously. I think Nick may have taken it personally when Rusty would saunter away from him. However, in time, I cannot say that they were close, but they had respect for one another.
Initially, Rusty was named by his first family as "Motorboat," as he purred continuously. He never lost this quality. In fact, he would even purr when my sister gave him insulin injections daily, as he also had a secondary diagnosis of diabetes. Rusty was a fighter and a trooper. He would not show signs of pain or discomfort, even when we suspected greatly that he might be in much distress. We would take him to the Veterinary Clinic, and they would say, "Is he always like this?"; "He's so good." Rusty was amazing that way. He was an excellent traveler in the car; never made a peep: he didn't need a carrier to be transported from place to place, and he would just sit quietly on the porch, or be tied by the side of the house, as the neighbors said, "Watching life go by." He sure cherished his walks. My sister and I would leash walk him and he so enjoyed walking through neighborhoods, and absorbing all of the good smells to be had. He was like me in the way that he loved food. However, we differed in that he was "a very picky eater and I could eat almost anything and everything. He would keep my sister busy cooking and guessing what type of food to make next. She probably has a Ph.D. by now in knowing what types of foods are enticing to cats. Rusty thought of my sister as the sun and the moon, as she monitored his glucose closely and after all was "his cook." He loved me as well but this little stinker had such a fierce independent streak, that he did not like to cuddle too much with anybody. I knew that he was ill when he slept on my legs for five hours straight one night. Though I loved to have him near me, I almost prayed for that fierce stubborn streak to return. I loved to give him kisses on the face. Though he tolerated them, I am not sure that he appreciated them. We cannot tell you how much we will miss him. We called him the "boss of the house." He seemed to obtain the respect of each one of our pets. Also, he was so calm, that his presence had a stabilizing influence in our home. He taught us a lot - to appreciate the little things, to remain chill when stress is heightened, to sleep and eat when you need to do so, and to give and receive love, but with healthy boundaries.
We cannot tell you how hard it was to say goodbye to our precious Rusty. When they say that we rescued him, this is totally untrue. Definitely, he rescued us. He gave more love to us than we could ever return in kind. We pray that he felt loved and cherished in his home. He was so unique and beautiful. His antics and his expressions will be sorely missed. Each day, we look to greet our beautiful boy, with that sweet white puss with orange marking on his nose. However, reality sets in and we realize that we will not again see him until we hopefully meet up at the Rainbow Bridge. We wanted to capture Rusty on paper so that you could have an inkling of his gentle fun-loving spirit, and amazing personality. Then we realized that Rusty was so unique that you had to have the privilege of knowing him to truly appreciate all of his magnificence. We are so grateful for our time with him.

Suzybelle Hanson-Hynes - January 30, 2006 - December 04, 2023

Departed: 12/04/2023 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: Suzy joined us as a kitten completing our family for nearly 18 years. We decided to get a ragdoll cat because we had heard they were hypoallergenic and floppy – that they loved to be carried and cuddled. Suzy turned her cute, wee nose on all of this nonsense.
She was irascible, highly independent, ever-curious, often demanding and quite irresistible. Her confidence and curiosity propelled her into many engaging studies: the smell of a guest’s shoes; the necessity of jumping into an open drawer. Closed doors hurt her feelings and she would protest quite vocally. Though very gentle and loving, she made it clear that she didn’t like being poked and prodded by the vet. She was a beautiful furball, friendly to everyone and loved by so many. She strutted happily through life with her fluffy tail upright - most often curled at the end.
Our Suzy was an honest girl, with true dignity and integrity. She was true to herself. We loved her deeply, as she loved us. Peace to you, sweet Suzybelle. We miss you so much.

Departed: 07/31/2023 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: Gemma was part boxer and all mischief. When she wasn’t leaping onto the counter in search of snacks, she was testing window screens and exterior doors for weaknesses that would allow her to slip outside. Gemma loved to run and play with her best friend, Boston the pit bull. Gemma was a comforting presence and cuddle buddy with a gentle heart, going to sit by her 4 human children whenever one of them was sad. Sam Handrahan - January 01, 2023 - July 14, 2023

Departed: 07/14/2023 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: Sam, a Bengal, was born 9/6/2006. We got him when he was 3 years old and we were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy him for almost 14 years. His original name was Tonka, but we changed it to Sam. He didn’t mind a name change and he quickly learned his new name.
He had a lot of energy. He could jump from the floor to the top of the refrigerator in a single bound. He was part of the reason we needed to catify our house, he needed places to run and jump with the other cats.
Sam was friendly and easygoing. We’ve had many cats over the years and they’ve all been special in their own way, but Sam was extra special. Words cannot describe it - there was something that set him apart. To know and love him, and to feel his love, was truly a blessing.
We miss you Sam.

Daisy Duke Williams - May 08, 2016 - June 19, 2023

Departed: 06/19/2023 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: Daisy Duke Williams passed away unexpectedly June 19, 2023 with her Dad (Travis) and Mom (Sydney) loving on her & assuring her that she was such a good girl. The wonderful staff at Countryside Animal Hospital were amazing & made her transition as peaceful as possible.
Daisy was born May 8th, 2016 & “rescued” July 8 of that same year out of the back of a truck in a PetSmart parking lot in Kansas City, MO by Dad. Mom was out of town & not impressed with the text message stating the cute puppy in the attached picture was now ours. As that little puppy grew, she stole our hearts. She graduated from Puppy School at that same PetSmart location shortly after.
Although Daisy was not an extremely social dog to strangers, her family was her everything. She was unaware of her size, but insisted she WAS a lap dog. Her snuggles & kisses were a lot because she loved so much. There were no kids at home anymore, but she loved all the Grandkids & would get so excited when they would come to visit. She loved the long road trips to Kansas where she got to visit the farm with Dad, this was one of her favorite things. She also enjoyed riding in the Jeep with her head hanging out the window & visiting coffee shops for her puppuccino’s.
Daisy will be greatly missed by her mom, dad & paw sisters Izzy Bea, Olive & Sally all of Dundas. Recently one of her favorite people, her human sister Keeler, moved back to MN bringing her paw cousins Stella & Athena who will also miss her. Daisy was a gentle giant who looked fierce & protected us all, but really was just a big lover who would smother you with kisses. There was nothing more comforting than her big head snuggled against you (or on you) when you were sick or upset. She just always knew what you needed. Boston McRae - January 01, 2022 - April 13, 2023

Departed: 04/13/2023 (Northfield)
Obituary Preview: Boston peacefully passed onto her next adventure laying in her favorite sunny spot. Boston was ten years old and so very loved.
Although often given a bad reputation, Boston was a testament to the true “pit bull” title, loving through and through. She was happy, so silly, had an uncontrollable tail and tongue.
Boston was a happy dog that loved playing catch in the yard, sleeping under the covers and she adored her best dog friend, Gemma.
There is nothing Boston loved more than her human babies. Wherever they went, she was by their side, making sure they were safe and happy. Boston loved the role of “fun police”, barking at Dad and letting him know when he was playing too rough with her babies.
Boson had so many silly quirks. She always came to greet us with a bark and stuffed animal in her mouth. She crossed her paws when she laid down and often sat sideways. We will miss the sound of her tail hitting the bed when it wagged, her joyful bark and her kisses. Most of all, Mom will miss Boston curling up under the covers and warming up her feet.
Boston’s memory will live on in her Dad (Nate), Mom (Emme) and her human children, Warren, Alice, Cameron and Arlo and her best canine companion, Gemma.
We love you Bost, Bostonian, Boston. We’ll meet you at the rainbow bridge. Cared for by Homeward Bound Memorial and Pet Cremation.
