Obituary Preview: Dr. Elmar Rudolf Reiter, 88, passed away on June 17th, 2016 in Peoria, AZ. He is survived by his spouse Gabriella Reiter, three children (Bernadette, Reinhold, and Christa-Maria), and six grandchildren. Dr. Elmar Reiter was Professor Emeritus from Colorado State University, where he helped found the Atmospheric Science Department. He was a brilliant scientist and inventor. He is best known for his work regarding "jet streams" which gave rise to the algorithms used by the airlines to determine the magnitude and direction of clear air turbulence. He was also a talented artist and tenor singer. He requested that there would be no memorial or funeral service. Instead, he wished that everyone that knew him celebrate his life. He was a scientist who contributed greatly to the advancement of climate models and weather prediction systems. The family asks that donations be given, in his memory, to scholarship funds that further scientific research.

He is survived by his three beloved children Reilly, Liam, and Tori; wife Mellisa; his mother Linda Sather; father Patrick Sather; brother Ryan Sather, and step-sister DeDe Leseman; multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews as well as numerous loved ones, friends, and fellow airmen. Memorial service will be held at Luke Community Chapel, 13968 W. Shooting Star Street, Luke Air Force Base on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11:00AM.

Sharon lived most of her life in the Valley, and was proud to be a native Arizonan. A phenomenal Mom and exceptional Grandma, she was proud of her family's accomplishments. She enjoyed sharing stories of them with loved ones and strangers alike. Many lives were touched by her sweet nature and special smile.
While working at the telephone company for 33 years, she met many dear friends. Once retired, she lived life to the fullest—visiting with family and friends, casino hopping, and traveling as often as possible. She journeyed through most of our beautiful state, as well as Hawaii, Southern California, Alaska, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Great Britain and the US Virgin Islands.
