Lonnie was a man who dedicated his life to his family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. With a successful career as a Rig Manager in the oilfield, Lonnie retired early to do the things he loved most. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and visiting with his family and friends. He loved to sing and knew every word to every song he ever heard. As we reflect on Lonnie's life, we remember a man who loved deeply and lived life to the fullest. His spirit touched the lives of so many, leaving a mark on all who knew him. He never hesitated to strike up a conversation with anyone and he never met a stranger. Lonnie's legacy of love and laughter will continue to be cherished by his family and friends. He loved hard, lived hard, and loved every bit of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Allen, and Doris Gray Allen; and brother, Wallace "Buddy Pete" Allen.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Joy Allen; son, Jason Allen of Nebo; daughter, Jessica Allen Breithaupt (Daniel) of Jena; grandchildren, Cydni Walker, Emily Allen, Jesse Allen, Kynslee Slay, and Piper Breithaupt; great granddaughter, Adrian Volentine; sisters, Janice Gurganus (Leonard) of Nebo, and Margie Morphis (Jimmy) of Jena; and many other family and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Lonnie Lamar Allen will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Nebo Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Bro. Carl Gulde and Bro. Daniel Breithaupt officiating. Burial will follow in the Nebo Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the church on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and resume on Tuesday at 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Donnie Faye Joiner, 83, of Jena, was born on May 9, 1940, in Nebo, and passed from this life on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Jena.
Donnie was a member of the Lions Club and her local Pokeno group, where she made many friends and wonderful memories. Known for her baking skills and love for fishing, she brought joy to all who knew her. Her dedication extended beyond hobbies as she taught Sunday school for several years at East Jena Baptist Church, sharing her faith and love for the Lord with her community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Eugene Joiner; son, Arthur Ray Joiner; parents, Vernie Gibson, and Annie Allen Gibson; sister, Vernie Mae Thomas; and two granddaughters, Amanda Joiner and Laura Joiner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Doyle Joiner and his wife, Sondra; daughter-in-law, Sally Joiner; grandchildren, Amber Joiner, Austin Joiner, Trenton Joiner, and Halle Joiner; and many other family and friends.

Born on March 13, 1944, Bill grew up in Georgetown, Louisiana, and was an alumnus of Georgetown High School. He was a veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War. For almost three decades, he served the LaSalle community as a dedicated employee of Century Telephone. He was known for his green thumb and love for working in his shop tinkering on his current project.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Clark Armstrong; son, Charles William Armstrong; father, Melvin Charles Armstrong; mother, Ollie May Long Armstrong; brother, Charles Ray Armstrong; and grandson, Cody Williams.
He is survived by two children, Mike Williams (Cheryl) and Martha Mercer (Jason); four grandchildren, Katie Valentine (Casey), Marisa Mercer, Jacob Mercer, and Connor Williams; and one great-grandchild, Emmalyn Williams.
A graveside service to honor Bill's life will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Friends, family, and community members are invited to gather at the Georgetown Cemetery to pay their respects. Services under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
Bill's memory will forever be intertwined with the clinging of tools, the scent of freshly turned earth, and the legacy of his handcrafted wonders.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Quitman Breland; second husband, Hurley Butler; parents, Floyd Entrekin and Nettie Sanders Entrekin; and grandson, Richard Husbands.

Ikie Mae Henderson - June 11, 1930 - April 04, 2024

Obituary Preview: Ikie H. Henderson earned her angel’s wings on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in the arms of her beloved only child, Raye.
Ms. Ikie was a graduate of Jena High School and the Alexandria Business College. She was a 75-year resident of Harrisonburg. In 1950, she married the love of her life, J C Henderson. They were married for 45 years. Her professional life included serving Catahoula Parish Deputy Clerk of Court for 37 years; she also worked in several capacities with the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Born June 11, 1930, in Walters, Louisiana, raised in Whitehall, Louisiana, Ms. Ikie was a lifetime devoted Pentecostal, having departed this life as a member of Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church. Among her services to her churches, she played piano and acted as church secretary. With her sisters, Ms. Ikie was a founder of the Catahoula-LaSalle Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She served in every office of that chapter and regularly attended the state conventions.
This lively, remarkable, and energetic lady had wide-ranging interests and service projects, including travelling, attending many Bluegrass festivals across a number of states, crafting ceramics, visiting friends and family, reading, and painting. She loved visiting her nieces and their families in Arkansas and Florida. She also volunteered to serve on the Board for Council on Aging and the Homemakers Club.
Ms. Ikie was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Ike E. Hailey and Bennie Mae Johnson Hailey; her siblings, Beth H. May, Earl Hailey Sr., Shine H. Walker, Cora Belle Hailey, and Georgia H. Jones; special grands, David L. Jones, Sr., Jennifer W. Groll, Jeff Walker, George Wesley Hailey, Aaron Hailey, and Katri Billiot.
She is survived by her daughter, Raye Henderson; sister, Teen H. Davidson; and a host of nieces, nephews, grands, and great-grands, the latter of whom considered her a grandmother.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 11 am in the Harrisonburg Cemetery, with a brief visitation at 10. Tommy Mayo will read the obituary, Reverend Lionel Hatten will conduct the eulogy, and LeJeune Mayo will be the vocalist. Following the service will be an informal gathering of family and friends with light refreshments at Bailey’s Coffee Shop in Harrisonburg.
Pallbearers are Scott Maxfield, BJ Book, Lauren May Calk, Alexandra Hailey Maxfield, Gage Dossett, and Drew Bass.
Ms. Ikie requested that those wishing to honor her memory, send memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The family would like to thank All Saints Hospice and Faye Henderson for their devotion for and care of Ms. Ikie in her final months. We will be forever grateful.

Bro. Carl Wayne Griffith, 46, of Georgetown, was born on November 22nd, 1977, in Pasadena, Texas to the union of Bobby Estell Griffith and Betty Gayle White Griffith. He passed from this life unexpectedly on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Bro. Carl was a man of many passions. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting sports card, and was always ready to find hidden treasures at garage sales. He was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and his excitement during their games will be remembered by all who knew him. He found comfort in the simple pleasures of life, like indulging in Bluebell ice cream while enjoying his favorite music, or watching his children excel in all their sports endeavors. Carl's faith in the Lord was unshakeable, he was truly dedicated to preaching the word. He loved spending time with friends and family any chance that he got. His legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grandad Griffith, and Grandad White.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jocelyn Rose Griffith; children, Christopher Reuben Griffith, Cadence Shea Griffith, and Cole Thomas Griffith; parents, Bobby and Betty Griffith; brother, Robert Griffith, and his wife, Macey; nephew, Troy Griffith; and many other family and friends.

Travis graduated from Jena High School. He served as a Military Policeman in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis. He was employed as a nurse. He was a caregiver to everyone. Even after retiring, he continued caring for his family, including his parents and brother, Wayne. Travis was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with others. Family time was precious to him, especially with his granddaughters and great grandsons, whom he adored.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Ann Ainsworth; sons, Larry Darrel Ainsworth, and Mickey Darron Ainsworth (Charlotte); granddaughters, Brianna Carter (Kasey), and Tori Ainsworth; and great grandsons, Everett Allen Carter, and Oliver Thomas Carter.
Pallbearers include Danny Ainsworth, Neal Ainsworth, Kasey Carter, Lanny Poole, Adam Walters, and Todd Whittington.
Honorary pallbearers are his great grandsons, Everett and Oliver Carter.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena, with Rev. Glen Roark and Rev. Brandon Poole officiating.

Obituary Preview: Guy Eugene King, 70, of Aimwell, La. passed away on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, at 4:15 a.m. at his residence. Mr. King was born on July 25th, 1953, at Tensas Memorial Hospital in Newellton, La. to Jewel B. King and Doris King.
Mr. King was a 1971 graduate of Block High School in Jonesville, La. He began cross-country truck driving in 1971 after graduating high school. In 1973, Mr. King enlisted for 3 years in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana. After being honorably discharged, he continued truck driving until becoming a law enforcement officer in 1991. He was employed by Newellton Police Department, Tensas Parish Sheriff's Office, Saint Joseph Police Department, Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Office, and Sicily Island Police Department. He served as Police Chief of Sicily Island Police Department before returning to truck driving. Mr. King had survived two separate battles with cancer. He was a hard worker, faithful to his jobs, and a dedicated husband and family man. Mr. King was a member of Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church of Jonesville, La.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris (McDaniel) Smith; stepfather, Jimmy Smith; father, Jewel B. King; brother, Gary Steven King; and infant son, Raymond King.
Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianne King; daughters, Jackie Barrett, Lynn Delhoste and husband, Davey, and Stacey Herman; sons, Howard King and wife, Sue, and Wesley King and wife, Shanda; stepmother, Rose King; sisters, Penny Russell and husband, Tommy, and Tammy Ferrington and husband, Charlie; brother, Billy Johnson and wife, Debra; grandchildren, Allyson Wooley and husband, Jay, Britlyn King, Blaine Herman, Joseph “Joe” King, John Hale, Jaime Lyon, and Austin Nicholas King; and great granddaughter, Bryleigh Parker.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1st, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church with Pastor Tyler Stevison officiating. Burial will be at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, La.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Tracy Shirley, and Karen Fleming; one granddaughter, Christina M. Shirley; parents, Jesse James, and Beulah Franklin James; three brothers, Earl Franklin, Malcom “Manny Boy” James, and “TJ” James; and two sisters, Abbie Gail Nealy, and Leola James.

Mr. Wayne Dexter Masters, 76, of Trout, was born on July 13, 1947, in Jena, and passed from this life on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
Wayne was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and loved to study the Word of God. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids every chance he got. He loved to hunt and fish, but hated mosquitoes. He was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan, which didn’t go over well on gameday with his Dallas Cowboys loving wife. Wayne was a great man that everyone loved to be around. His laugh was contagious, and he would bring a smile to every room he was in. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James “JD” Masters and Mary Jo Powell Masters; and sister, Sheila Wright.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 37 years Robert D. Richardson, her mother Lottie Kinney (Del), and two children Crystal Johnson Buffington (Jason) and Dusty Wheeler (Amy). She also leaves behind three brothers, Ray Johnson (April), George Hulsey (Marie), Dan Hulsey (Melanie) and one sister, Virginia Hulsey.
Her greatest reward on Earth, as she has said many times, was her 6 grandchildren, Cole (Madison), Jacy, Cameron, and Jordan Buffington and Wyatt and Grace Wheeler.
Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren and could most often be seen around Jena or Alexandria shopping for gifts for them or for an awesome meal to prepare for them. Her entire family rejoices knowing Barbara is no longer fighting pain and is resting in the arms of Jesus.
Celebration of Life services are being held at Hixson Brothers of Jena and her final resting place will be the Jena Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dusty Wheeler, Cole Buffington, Wyatt Wheeler, Chad Hulsey, Todd Roark, and Philip McWilliams.

Obituary Preview: James Howard Guillotte, 92, of Georgetown, a man who built a foundation of warmth and empathy, who preferred kindness and gentleness to all else, was accepted into the arms of our Lord and Savior on December 15, 2023.
James was born on September 15, 1931. He was a proud veteran of the United States, serving as a member of the Infantry 1st Calvary Division, 7th regiment machine gunner, during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. After his service and many years of hard work at Dresser Industries in Pineville, he retired. In his spare time, he studied the bible. He used this knowledge to teach Sunday School at Georgetown Baptist Church for many years. He remained active enjoying life until his dying day. He was a storyteller and a videographer. For years, he took pride in hiding out at Christmas dinner to catch all the festivities on video for his family to treasure the memories. His long, beautiful prayers before every holiday meal will be dearly missed. There was never a time he was not ready and willing to stand and pray.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Hurley: father, Joseph Walter Guillotte; first wife, Macie Johnson Guillotte; sons, Dale Funderburk and Everson Funderburk; sister, Jo Ann Walker; brothers, Walter Guillotte and William Luther Hurley; son-in-law, Leonard Henderson; grandson, Job Funderburk; and great-granddaughter, Carissa Gillis.
James is survived by his second wife, Bobbie Guillotte; son, James Walter Guillotte; daughters, Patricia Henderson, and Georgia Parker (Leon). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Georgetown Baptist Church from 10:00am-1:00pm on Wednesday, December 20. Family and friends of James are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service following visitation at 2:00pm which will also be held at Georgetown Baptist Church and officiated by Brother Carl Griffith, Brother Lamar Carpenter, and Brother Mark Breland. The graveside service will then follow at Beulah Cemetery in Winn Parish.
Pallbearers will be Brian Henderson, Todd Fingleton, Daniel Myrick, Jacoby Parker, Leon Parker, Matthew Parker, Trey Parker, and Bobby Price. Honorary pallbearers will be the Georgetown Baptist Church Adult Men Sunday School Class, Jack Myrick, David Price, and Miles Price.
