Obituary Preview: A celebration of life will be held for Nina Clyburn at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Hilliard Funeral Home.
Nina Chapman Clyburn was born December 22, 1948 in Nappa Valley, California. She had been a resident of Ben Wheeler for 40 years, formerly living in Tyler. She enjoyed gardening and helping take care of her grandbabies.
She was the life of the party and queen of late-night chats. With wit as sharp as glass and a sense of humor that could make a sailor blush, Nina certainly knew how to make an impression on everyone she met. Staying up late laughing with her was a joy many got to experience and appreciate. She lived life passionately and loved fiercely, whether it was her family, her friends, or her beloved dog Maggie. If she loved you, she was not shy about telling you, and if she did not like you, well, she was not shy about telling you that either. She never met a kid that she did not adore, or who did not adore her right back. Nina’s idea of heaven was a table filled with delicious food, good drinks, and great company.
Nina passed away comfortably on Thursday, May 2, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Clyburn; and father, John T. Chapman.
While she may have left this world, her spirit lives on in those surviving her: three sons and daughters-in-law, Rusty & Jessica Clyburn of Nacogdoches, Jason & Misty Clyburn of Brownsboro, and John & Shelley Clyburn of Longview; mother, Margaret Hudnall Chapman; siblings, Russell Chapman, Mitchell Chapman, and Joyce Tomlin; grandchildren, Mark Lewis, Luke Clyburn, Abby Clyburn, Maddy Clyburn, Macie Clyburn, Shelby Tallant, Logan Clyburn, Abbey Hamilton, Madi McCarver, and Camden McCarver; and great-grandchildren, Jude Lewis, Ella Lewis, Oakley Clyburn, Easton Finkie, and Carter Finkie.
Rest in peace, Nina. May your get togethers in the afterlife be as fun as the ones you threw on Earth.
