Obituary Preview: James C. "Jim" O'Neil, 86, of Cranberry Township, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Shippenville.
James was born in Oil City on August 8, 1935.  He was the son of the late William and Dorothy Hartzel O'Neil.  Jim was a former member of the Coon and Fox Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking trips to casinos, especially in Salamanca, New York.  He had been employed as a foreman for Joy Manufacturing and retired in 1998 following 31 years of service.
James was married in on May 25, 1957 to Betty A. Dunkle O'Neil.  Mrs. O'Neil preceded him in death on November 30, 2019.
Jim is survived by his children Terry Wade Sr. and his wife Barbara of Oil City, and Barbara Melton and her husband Emmett of Sun City Center, Florida; Three Grandchildren survive: Terry Wade, Jr. and his wife Victoria, of Richmond, Virginia, Julie Wade of Franklin, and April Burns and her husband Matthew of Kennerdell; four great grandchildren: Tracie Alabaugh, Frankie Alabaugh, Cassandra Craig, and Evie Wade; and six great - great grand children: Maddison, Aaliyah, Henry, Arianna, Paisleigh, and Alex, his sister in law Mae, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his siblings: Geraldine Flinchbaugh, Donald O'Neil, Richard O'Neil, Donna Irwin, and Dennis O'Neil as well as a number of brothers in law and sisters in law.
Friends will be received at the Hile Best Funeral Home 2781 Rte. 257 Seneca, Cranberry Township, from 11am - 1pm on Friday.  A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Roberta J. "Jeannie" Kapp - June 04, 1962 - April 18, 2022

Obituary Preview: Roberta J. “Jeannie” Kapp, 59, of Seneca, went to be with Jesus early Monday morning, April 18, 2022 at her home.
Roberta was born in Franklin on June 4, 1962.  She was the daughter of the late Richard “Dick” and Sarah Ruth Staup Clark.
She was a 1980 graduate of Franklin High School and was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother.  She was a long time active member of the Atlantic Avenue Church in Franklin.  She enjoyed crafting, babysitting and visits with the grandkids, trips to the beach and had cherished spending time with her late husband, Tim.
She was preceded in death by her husband, whom Jeannie missed with all her heart, Timothy A. Kapp on December 6, 2021.  The couple was married in Venus on February 21, 1981.  Also surviving are three children, Ryan A. Kapp and his wife, Karen, of Oil City, Krista Ann Schwab and her husband, Cody, of Venus, and Kara Lynn Hite and her husband, Jim, of Kennerdell; she was affectionately “Grammy” to seven grandchildren whom she adored, Makayla, Alyssa, John, Colton, Clayton, Maria, and KateLynn “Katie”; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Proper and a brother-in-law.

Thomas W. Meehan Jr. - February 09, 1949 - April 13, 2022

Obituary Preview: Thomas W. Meehan Jr., 73 of Oil City, Passed away at the Collins House on Wednesday, April 13th 2022. Thomas was born in Oil City on February 9, 1949. He was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Emily Tock Meehan. He was a 1967 graduate of Oil City High School. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and served in Vietnam. Thomas was employed at the Oil Well Supply Co., Franklin Steel, and later retired from Joy Manufacturing.  He enjoyed watching Nascar, hunting and fishing, eating ice cream and watching his favorite TV show "Bitchin Rides."
Thomas is survived by his wife Barbara Carson Meehan, whom he married on October 3, 1971. He is also survived two children: Kelly S. Bradley and her husband Matthew of Oil City, and Thomas Meehan III of Farrell; two grandchildren: Kaleb and Kameron, of Oil City; his siblings: Connie Roxbury, Frank Meehan and his wife Sandy, and Ken Meehan as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Bob and Dave Meehan, as well as a brother in law Braden and a sister in law Deb.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at 3 South of UPMC Northwest, the Collins House, Asceracare, and the VA.  They would like to extend a special thanks to his devoted caregiver Michelle.

Norman M. Weaver - December 31, 1924 - April 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Norman M. Weaver, 97, of Rockland, died early Sunday morning, April 10, 2022 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Reynoldsville, Jefferson County on December 31, 1924 to the late Wayne and Bertha (Roush) Weaver.
Mr. Weaver served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Division during World War II. He departed San Diego, California on April 19, 1943 and served in the Pacific Theatre visiting Ellice and Nanome Islands, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Iwo Jima, Palau, and Guam. He returned to San Diego on August 19, 1945.
He was a member of the Rockland United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Norm enjoyed fishing and hunting; and watching football and baseball games.  He also enjoyed feeding the wildlife in his yard, and the companionship of his beloved dog, Nakita.
Mr. Weaver was employed by Oilwell Supply Company in Oil City for forty-six years as a machine operator, retiring in 1986.  Norm was also a school bus driver for Cranberry school district for thirty years.
He was married in Ross Common, Michigan on October 15, 1946 to Betty B. (Burris), and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2011.
He is survived by six children: Sandy Switzer and her significant other Barry Phythyon of Shippenville, Laura Rice of Rockland, Wayne Weaver and his significant other Diane of Rockland, Norma Droddy and her husband Joe of Tionesta, Calvin Weaver and his wife April of Rockland, and  Carolyn Fento and her husband Dave of Fort Drum, New York; 16 grandchildren: Bobby Switzer (Kelly), Brenda Russell (Mike), Bruce Switzer (Shannon), Laurie Tetro (Albert), Michael Rice (Amy), Kevin Weaver (Jamie), Keri Hollidge (Jeff), Katie Morrow (Thomas), DeWayne Droddy (Brittany), Daniel Droddy, Samuel Droddy (Emma), Calvin Weaver Jr. (Amanda), Tanesha Weaver (Geno), David Fento Jr. (Ashley), Adam Fento (Ashley), and MaryEllen Evans (Fran); 41 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Elizabeth Marshall, Theona Hollenbaugh, Frances Askey, and Mary Nulph; a brother, Taylor Weaver; and two sons-in-law, Gary Switzer and Jack Rice.

Larry H. Stanley - April 01, 1936 - April 07, 2022

Obituary Preview: Larry H. Stanley, 86, of Seneca, died Thursday night, April 7, 2022 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, following a brief illness.
He was born in Oil City on April 1, 1936 to the late Homer A. and Mildred (Fry) Stanley.
Larry was a 1954 graduate of Cranberry High School.  He also attended DeVry in Chicago and studied electrical courses.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 through 1961.
He loved the Lord and attended Faith Baptist Church in Seneca.
In his earlier years, Larry enjoyed hunting and camping.  He also enjoyed spending many winters in Lakeland, Florida, and playing golf there.
He was employed with Penelec for over thirty years, retiring in 1994 as supervisor of electrical equipment.
He was married in Venus on June 30, 1962 to the former Carole J. Rickenbrode, and she survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Wygant and her husband Jamie of Erie; and two grandchildren, Cassidy and Jacob Wygant of Erie.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive, include a very special niece, Lisa Gilbert of Oil City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Heffern and her husband Bill; and a nephew, Rod Whitmore.

Winifred A. Paup - October 25, 1925 - April 04, 2022

Obituary Preview: Winifred A. (Osgood) Paup, 96, of Venus, Pinegrove Township, died at her home on Monday night, April 4, 2022 with loving family at her side.
She was born in Tionesta on October 25, 1925 to the late Harry and Viola (Mealy) Osgood.
Winnie was a 1943 graduate of Cranberry High School.
In her earlier years, she worked at the Boston Store in Erie; and during World War II, she was employed at Manion Steel Barrel.
She was a member of Heckathorn United Methodist Church.  She volunteered with Faith in Action and Goodwill.  She taught adults to read through her work with the Literacy Council.
Winnie enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, traveling, and word games.  Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
In past years, Winnie also enjoyed participating in several bowling leagues, as well as swimming at the YMCA.
She was married to Clarence "Pete" Paup, and he preceded her in death in 1991.
Winnie is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Schumann and her husband Al of Warren, PA, and Trudy Hogue of Venus; a son-in-law, Neil Johns of Dempseytown; and a niece whom she helped raise, Sandra Osgood; and nine grandchildren: Christine Opfer and her husband Dave, Patricia Uber and her husband Ed, Michelle Erfurt and her husband Ed, Jeff Johns, Jason Johns and his wife Jessica, Jeanna Noel and husband Jeremy, Amy Jo Mealy and her husband Scott, Eric Hogue and his girlfriend Tiffany  Gegogeine, and Ben Hogue and his wife Karlene.  Also surviving are eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly; and her nephew's wife, Linda Osgood.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Johns; a nephew whom she raised, John Osgood; a son-in-law, Gary Hogue; a great-granddaughter, Madison Mealy; a great-grandson, Tyler Hogue; and four brothers and three sisters:  Howard, Carl, John, and Richard Osgood, Ester Welms, Mary Felmlee, and Isabell Beale.
Visitation will be held Friday (April 8) from 1 - 3 and 6 - 8 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.  Additional visitation will be held Saturday (April 9) from 10 - 10:45 a.m. in the Heckathorn United Methodist Church, 369 Heckathorn Church Road in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, officiated by Rev. Jeff Bobin, church pastor.
Interment will follow in Heckathorn Cemetery in Seneca.

Ruth N. Lauer - February 23, 1929 - March 31, 2022

Obituary Preview: Ruth N. Lauer, 93, of Oil City, passed away Thursday evening, March 31, 2022 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loving family.
She was born February 23, 1929 in Ashtabula, Ohio to the late Forrest G. and Melvina D. (Burr) Hare.
Ruth was a 1947 graduate of Oil City High School.
She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Oil City.
In her earlier years, she volunteered at the Venango County Blind Association.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting, crafts, animals, and her dogs.  She also enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lauer worked as a secretary for the City of Oil City before becoming a manager in the warranty department for Sears and Roebuck, from where she retired.
She was married in Clarion on October 23, 1952 to Richard L. Lauer, and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1992.
Ruth is survived by her five children: Cheryl Shoup and her husband Jerry of Seneca, Mary Wise and her husband Michael of Oil City, Louis Lauer and his wife Cheryl of Taylorsville, North Carolina, Joyce Fisher and her husband Sam of Oil City, and Julie Martz and her husband Edward of Oil City; five grandchildren:  Nicholas Shoup and his wife Kari, Chad Wise, Jim Weaver and his wife Emily, Dan Weaver and his wife Pam, and Jessica Lauer; and four great-grandchildren: Austin and Makenzi Shoup, Brock Wise, and Lilly Weaver.  Ruth also had numerous bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters.
Visitation for friends and family will be held Wednesday (April 6th) from 9 - 11 a.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a memorial service will follow Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert H. Wilson, Director of Congregational Development for the Western PA United Methodist Conference, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rynd Farm Cemetery near Rouseville.

Richard Blaine Aegan, Jr. - May 08, 1954 - March 30, 2022

Obituary Preview: Richard Blaine Aegan, Jr., 67, of Oleopolis, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away Wednesday morning, March 30, 2022 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, following a brief illness.
Rich was born in Three Mile, West Virginia, the son of Nora Mae (Perry) Aegan and the late Richard B. Aegan, Sr.
After graduating in 1972 from Riverside High in Ellwood City, he enlisted in the United States Navy.
Rich enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting with his wife, and spending time near the Allegheny River in Oleopolis.  He worked at Hydrill, Fombell Fabricating, and Webco.  He was also self-employed in the tree removal business.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Mary Jane Aegan; his mother, Nora Aegan of Ellwood City; two sisters, Quina Price and her husband Leonard of Wampum, and Linda Maloney and her significant other Duane Stoops of Fombell.  Also surviving is a step-daughter, Dianna Fresh and her children Anthony, Victoria, and Christian, whom lovingly called him "Pappy Rich," and two step-great-granddaughters, Anessa and Lisanna, all of Jacksonville, Florida.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Joey Aegan; and a step-daughter, Teresa Giffen.

Donna K. Weaver - August 01, 1957 - March 29, 2022

Obituary Preview: Donna K. Weaver, 64, of Seneca, went Home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.  She died unexpectedly of natural causes shortly after her arrival to UPMC Northwest.
She was born in Oil City on August 1, 1957; the daughter of Minta R. "Minnie" Weaver and the late Arthur W. Weaver.
Donna was a 1975 graduate of Cranberry High School.
She was an active member of Seneca United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school to the nursery age children for thirty-six years.  Donna was also active in organizing Vacation Bible School, and served as a former chair of the education committee.
Donna was a loving, giving, and generous person who always put the needs of others before herself.  She enjoyed needlepoint and cross-stitching and made many Christmas stockings for friends, family, and her Sunday school children.  She enjoyed baking and made some of the best chocolate chip cookies and Rice Krispies treats.  Donna found herself attending and supporting most of her niece's and nephew's sporting events.
Donna loved her work and was employed as an office manager for the Ellis Automotive Dealership in Butler for over twenty years.
She is survived by her mother, Minnie Weaver of Seneca; a brother, Bill Weaver and his wife Deb of Seneca; and a sister, Debbie Bond and her husband Brad of Selah, Washington; four nephews: Jim Weaver and his wife Emily, Dan Weaver and his wife Pam, and Sam and Matt Weaver; and a niece, Ashley LaTour and her husband Tanner.  Donna was a great-aunt to Lillian Weaver and Cooper LaTour.
She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
Per her wishes, there will be no public visitation.  Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at a funeral service held Saturday (April 2nd) at 2 p.m. in the Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 East State Road in Seneca.  Rev. Zayzay Kpadeh, church pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery in Nineveh, Clarion County.

Charles "Chuck" Kaufman, Jr. - July 20, 1946 - March 25, 2022

Obituary Preview: Charles Edward “Chuck” Kaufman, Jr., 75, of Oil City, died at his home on Friday, March 25, 2022 of natural causes.
He was born July 20, 1946 in Oil City to the late Charles Edward Kaufman Sr. and Jane A. (Leicht) Kaufman.
He was a 1966 graduate of Oil City High School.
Chuck served his country with a tour of duty in Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family picnics, golf, bowling, shooting pool, and shooting the breeze.
He was a member of the Oil City Moose Lodge 78, Oil City V.F.W. Post 464, the PNA, and the Oil City Eagles Club.
Mr. Kaufman was employed at Continental Can, and the Venango County jail, from where he retired.
Chuck is survived by his sisters, Jane Dickson, Mary Myers and husband Dave, his twin sister, Sue Diven and husband Bill, Janice Hall, and Sandy Fornal and husband Steve; two brothers, Frank Kaufman and Jim Kaufman and his wife Judy; two aunts, Pat Lillard and Hilda Kaufman; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  He is also survived by his good friend, Jim Bucholtz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Robert Hall, Sr. and Tom Dickson; a sister-in-law, Sheri Kaufman; a great-nephew, Eric Lendrum; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private visitation and military service will be held for the immediate family.  The V.E.T.S. Rosemary C. Britt - October 14, 1943 - March 24, 2022

Obituary Preview: Rosemary C. Britt, 78, of Plummer, died Thursday morning, March 24, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Bolivar, New York on October 14, 1943 to the late Fess and Lillie (Fauch) Roseberry.
She was a 1963 graduate of Oil City High School.
In her earlier years, she attended Plummer United Methodist Church. The most important thing in her life was her family.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino!
Rosemary worked as a sales clerk for the Hills and Ames department stores for many years, until their closing.  She then worked in the cafeteria for the Oil City school district until her retirement.
She was married in the Oil City Free Methodist Church on September 11, 1965 to Richard Edward Britt, and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1975.
Surviving are three children: Cynthia Paxton and her husband Bill of Oil City, Jeffrey Britt and his wife Sue of Rouseville, and Richard Edward Britt Jr. and his wife Dawn of Oil City; ten grandchildren: Ashley Gable and husband Eric, Wesley Paxton and wife Meghan, James Paxton and wife Jolene, Richard E. Britt III, Brianna Britt, Alexis Britt and fiancé Dawson, Anissa Britt, Alexis Hyslop and husband Scott, Jesse Rice II and fiancé Megan, and Faith Rice and fiancé Dan.  Her great-grandchildren include Hunter and Lilly Gable, Jaden and Abriella Smalley, William and Deborah Paxton, Braedyn and Lochlyn Hyslop, and Waylon Geer.
Also surviving are six sisters: Autumn Roseberry, Michelle Smith and husband Steve, Zelma Johnson, Gwen Riter, Holly Jo Roseberry and husband John, and Lisa Roseberry-Johnson and husband Scott; two brothers: Bruce Roseberry and wife Pat, and Gus Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Deb Roseberry; her step-mother, Paula Roseberry; and a cousin, Arnel Potter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Steve, Tom, Frank and Ormand Roseberry.
Visitation will be held Monday (March 28) from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.  A funeral service will follow in the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m.  Pastor Bill Hargenrader will officiate.
Interment will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery in Oil City.

He was born in Beaver County on September 15, 1948 to the late William Thomas and Dorothy Jean (Ludwig) Jewell.
He earned a bachelor's degree in Special Education from Slippery Rock.
Gary enjoyed fishing, antiques, and collecting banks.
Mr. Jewell was employed as a special education teacher at Cranberry High School for thirty-four years.
He was married in Oil City on October 30, 1970 to the former Audrey Kurschinske, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kelly Diane Jewell-Timco, and Gretchen Suzanne Jewell; and two sisters, Judy Jewell and Kalynn Baker and her husband John.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Jewell.

Deloris I. Kline - October 22, 1931 - March 22, 2022

Obituary Preview: Deloris I. (Slater) Kline of Venus, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2022 at The Caring Place in Franklin, following a period of declining health.  She was 90 years old.
She was born October 22, 1931 in Oil City, a daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Hazel (Black) Slater.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She attended Oil City schools.
Deloris married Harold "Mort" Kline on August 11, 1951.  He preceded her in death on August 25, 2009.
Mrs. Kline was a longtime member of Venus United Evangelical Church.  She enjoyed making quilts and lap blankets with the church's sewing group, "The Sew and Sews."  She also assisted with Vacation Bible School and many other functions at her church.
Deloris loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She also enjoyed her flower garden, jigsaw puzzles, and fishing with her grandsons.
She is survived by three daughters, Sherry Jordan and her husband Chip of Seneca, Barb Ditz of Tionesta, and Tammie Howarth and her husband Mike of New Galilee; and eight grandchildren: Matt Jordan and his fiancé Missy, Scott Jordan and his wife Maggie, Jerad Ditz and his wife Misty, Ashley Siegel and her husband Craig, Jessica Sliker and her husband Josh, Mike Howarth and his wife Brenda, Zachery Howarth and his wife Amanda, and Andrew Howarth.
Also surviving are thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, LuluBelle Kline; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Deloris was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd "Bill" Slater and Eugene "Bud" Slater; her son-in-law, Valentine Ditz; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Velma McCauley, Wade "Bud" Kline, Joan Slater, Don and Lois Zerbe, and Marie Kline; a great-granddaughter, Breanna Howarth;  three nephews, Henry McCauley, Lloyd "Billy" Slater, and Rickie Zerbe; and a niece, Carol Kline.

DeAnna was a 1983 graduate of Cranberry High School, and later earned an associate degree in computer applications management/medical assistant from DuBois Business College in Oil City.
She was of the Christian faith.
She had participated in various pool leagues in Oil City.
DeAnna enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, and spending time with her family.
She was employed for many years as a licensed practical nurse and medical assistant.
Surviving are two children:  Lynn Russell of Oil City, and Lee Russell and his wife Rachael of Rocky Grove; a grandson, Kayden Russell; and her brother, Bernard L. "J.R." Blauser Jr. of Seneca.

Obituary Preview: Randy E. Flick, 58, of Seneca, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning, March 19, 2022 in the comfort of his home following an extended period of declining health.
He was born in Clarion on July 20, 1963 to Marilyn J. (Sethman) Flick McFadden of Grove City and the late Howard E. Flick.
Randy was a 1981 graduate of Cranberry High School.  In 2017 he earned an associate degree in H.V.A.C. from New Castle School of Trade.
He was a member of Seneca United Methodist Church.
Randy loved the outdoors, he taught his son to hunt, and they spent many hours in the woods hunting with the Gahring boys. He was a skilled golfer and shared the love of the game with his daughter. He belonged to the Tri-City and Joy golf leagues and was often asked to compete in tournaments. In his younger days,  he owned a horse and enjoyed trail and horseback riding. Additionally, he spent much of his younger years attending car shows and drag races with his family and the O’Neil Family. He was a car enthusiast and owned a 1967 Chevy Camaro Rally Sport with a 383 Stroker engine.  He loved spending time with his grandsons, Carter and Nash, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter in July.
Mr. Flick was recently employed as a grinder for Joy Manufacturing.  He had previously worked at Franklin Bronze and Hedgedus Aluminum.
He was married in Seneca on August 13, 1988 to the former Tammy L. Ginnery, and she survives. She was the love of his life and a dedicated and compassionate caregiver during his years of declining health.
Also surviving are their two children, Kyle A. Flick and his wife Chelsey and their children Carter and Nash of Seneca; and Paige M. Ortlip and her husband Will of Vandergrift who will be welcoming a baby girl into the family in July.  Randy is also survived by his mother, Marilyn McFadden and her husband Gale of Grove City; a sister, Kim Borczyk and her husband Ron of Russellton; a sister-in-law, Kathy Wolbert and her husband Vergile; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Ginnery and his wife Jodi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Flick; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Dixie Ginnery.

Dave was currently employed by Moonlight Packaging in Oil City, but his favorite job was working on cars, motorcycles, and ATVs.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, and his passion was restoring classic cars.
Dave was married on August 22, 2015 to Colleen Sterner of Pleasantville, and she survives.
Also surviving are six children:  Aidan and Alaina Shouey of Pleasantville, Bethany Hannah and her husband Nathan of Seneca, Shawn Sharpe of Beaumont, Texas, Amanda Shouey, and Michael Watterson, both of Oil City; three step-children: Ashley and Dalton Staub, and Ashleigh Tomlinson; and several grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Bell and her husband Larry, and Christina Taylor and her husband Dave; and his nieces and nephews:  Larry Bell, Tara Bell, Robert Miller, Jacob Miller, DJ Taylor, and Brittany Taylor.

Robert Thomas Jacoby, 69, of Cranberry, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his home on Friday afternoon, March 11, 2022.
He was born in Oil City on March 24, 1952 to the late Wayne P. and Phyllis K. (Rodgers) Jacoby.
Mr. Jacoby was a member and an elder in the Oil City Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for over forty years.  He was a man of integrity who was loyal to his God, his family, congregation, and friends.  He taught his children the value of the most important things in life.  Bob always went out of his way to help anyone in need, even strangers.  He was an avid Bible reader and never missed an opportunity the share the Bible’s wonderful hope for the future.
Bob enjoyed bicycling his whole life until his retirement, then he took up gardening and pickleball with Mary Ann. He was friendly and upbeat, enjoyed playing music and singing with his children and feeding the birds.
He Jacoby was employed for over thirty-five years at Metalife Industries in Reno as director of sales.
He was married in Oil City on August 31, 1974 to the former Mary Ann Edwards, and she survives, along with their four children:  Sarah (Reed) McKibbin of Bolivia, Gail (Jesse) Selman of Seneca, Kyle (Jamie) Jacoby of Bolivia, and Joel (Jennifer) Jacoby of Anchorage, Alaska; and six grandchildren, Colin, Porter, and Claudia Selman, and Huck, Juniper, and Arlo Jacoby.
Also surviving is a sister, Ann Stebbins (Byron) of College Station, Texas; three brothers, John Jacoby (Roberta) of Phoenix, Arizona, Leonard Jacoby (Gloria) of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Andrew Jacoby (Sherry) of Phoenix, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews including Laura (Jason) Ellsworth and Rachel (Edward) Ellsworth whom he loved as his own.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael P. Jacoby; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Erma Edwards.

Obituary Preview: Ronald “Red” Eugene Mathews of Cranberry, PA, age 77, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family after a period of declining health.
He was born August 7, 1944 to the late Floyd and Hazel (Miller) Mathews.
In April of 1971, he married Ann Heckathorn, who survives.
He was a 1963 graduate of Oil City High School.  He was an active member of his class throughout the years, helping with organizing class events and gatherings.
He was an active member to the United States Air Force, as well as the Reserves. During his time in the Reserves, he served a deployment in 1991 as part of Operation Desert Storm.
Throughout his career, he worked at Oil Well Supply, Lynn Manufacturing, and Conair, as well as various other machine shops in the area.
He enjoyed woodworking, volunteering for the Venango County Airshow, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and dogs.
In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by his two daughters, Michelle (William) Show of Seneca, PA and Kelly (Michael) Debald of Ridgefield, Connecticut.  Additionally, he has four grandchildren, Cody Show (Samantha Kellerman), and Mathew, Lauren and Lilliana Debald, and one great-granddaughter, Luna Show.  He is survived by his sister, Judith Mathews of Seneca, PA, a brother-in-law Walter Heckathorn (Lynn Fink) of Oil City, and a sister-in-law Donna Douglass (Daniel) of Titusville, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mathews; a sister, Donna Mathews; a granddaughter, Alena Show; and a grandson, Brandan Debald.

Obituary Preview: Bradley A. "Boo" DeArment, 56, of Franklin, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday night, March 5, 2022 at his home, following a courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
He was born in Oil City on June 29, 1965 to the late Lloyd G. and Helene A. (Myers) DeArment.
He graduated from Oil City High School in 1986.
He was a member of the Pulaski Club and a former member of the P.N.A.
He was of the Christian faith and had handcrafted multiple crosses in which he had placed throughout his personal belongings- such as in his hunting and fishing gear.
Boo was a passionate outdoorsman. He was especially skilled in “getting the big one”, whether it be deer, fish, or small game.  He enjoyed games of chance including lottery, scratch-off tickets, and slot machines.  He was “Mr. Fix It” if he didn’t know how to fix it, he would figure it out- even if it took several “put it together, take it apart sessions”. He was always busy whether it be home remodeling, adjusting a carburetor, or trying to interact with animals- both domestic and non-domestic. He enjoyed puzzles, model trains, and RC cars.
He had a social personality and would talk to anyone, leading to many friendships.  His family remembers him as being “the fun one”.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and being a Papa to his grandkids. Boo was a high-spirited person with a huge heart full of love for all his family, whom he cherished. He thoroughly enjoyed putting smiles on their faces with his quick wit or practical jokes.
He previously worked as a manager for Buyer's Fair in both Oil City and Franklin, and was most recently employed as a retail sales associate at the Cranberry Wal-Mart.
He is survived by his significant other, Cindy L. DeArment, in which he was overly affectionate towards; five children: David Rekiel and his wife Kayla, Lisa Rekiel and her significant other Kim Heasley, Ericka Fox-Feroz and her husband Matthew, Brad “Boo Boo" DeArment and his wife Stephanie, and Shane "Bug" DeArment and his wife Erica; and a hunting friend and son-figure, Jason Zacherl. his ,grandchildren: Braden, Braelynn, Haylee, Siera, Isabelle, Carter, Connor, Alaiya, Farah, Lily, Leona, David, Selina, Levi, and Grayson; and a great-grandson, Logan.
Also surviving are three sisters, Dixie Knight, Roxie DeArment, and Traci DeArment; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Helene DeArment; a grandson, Branden; twin great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Oakley; his brother, Lloyd "Barney" DeArment; and two sisters, Cynthia Horton and Pamela Sue Carbaugh.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation gathering on Thursday (March 10th) from 5 - 6:30 p.m. at Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, and will be followed by a memorial service held at 6:30 p.m., led by his son-in-law, Matthew Feroz.

She was raised in the Venus/Oil City area.  Brierlie was an "old soul."  She enjoyed spending time with her grandmother, and her friends.  Her absolute favorite time of year was Halloween, where you could always find her dressed up and helping at the Haunted Houses to scare the public.
Bri worked as a caregiver for several years, before beginning her tenure with Country Fair in Oil City.  She held several positions through the years, the most recent being the fast food manager.
Brierlie touched so many lives; she lived for her children--they were her everything.
She is survived by her three children: Olivia Walters, and Bryce and Morgan Wells; a sister, Stacy Connolly and her husband Steven; and two brothers, Vance Hayden, and Aubrey Walters and his wife Danielle, all of Oil City.  Also surviving are ten nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and great nephews; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins; and a special aunt, Rita Bunnell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Howard and Dorothea Strain; her paternal grandparents, "Pete" and Grace Walters; an uncle, LeRon "Bud" Walters; and a cousin, Corey Walters.
A visitation will be held Saturday (March 12) from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow Saturday at 2 p.m., led by a family friend.

She is also survived by her grandchildren; Nikkia R. Lindstrom of Oil City, Allyson R. Lindstrom and significant other Alex Warner of Oil City, Brandon L. Titus and significant other Cheyenne Smith of Titusville, Felecia A. (Minock) Jenkins of Franklin,  Kristen (Bernard) Madison and significant other Elijah Madison, Austin Bernard , Chance Taylor of Oil City, Sean Taylor of Oil City, Meaghan Minock of California, Danielle Green, Terrell Minock, Khaila Minock, John, Emily, all of Alaska .
She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; a sister Pamala Caylor of Polk City, Florida; a special friend, Dallas Hoover of Franklin; and life-long friends Donna Vertha and Karen Irwin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Doug Caylor , and a very special friend, Rick Miller.

She was a graduate of Redbank Valley High School.
She was married in Clarion on August 1, 1997 to Marvin L. Lander, Sr., and he survives.  She and Marvin lived in Archdale, North Carolina for twenty-five years, and moved back to the Seneca area in 2020.
Jean loved flowers, gardening, and arranging flowers.  She also enjoyed crafts, needle-point, reading, and crossword puzzles.
In addition to her husband, Marvin, she is survived by two children:  Terry Schmader and his wife Denise of Lucinda; and Heather Shreffler and her husband Matthew of Franklin; three step-children, Tricia Antonis and her husband Michael of Alexandria, Virginia, Ryan Simpson of Clarion, and Brady Simpson of San Diego, California.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Avery Schmader, Cameron Schmader, Danielle Hogue and her significant other Tyler, Trenton Hogue and his significant other Sarah, Alexsis Shreffler and her significant other Tyler, C.J. Shreffler and his significant other Malliah, Sara Lander and her fiancé Ryan Irwin, and Rebecca Lander; and two great-grandchildren ("her babies"), Nikolai and Remi Jean.
Also surviving are two brothers, John Gathers and his wife Sharon, and Larry Gathers and his wife Melinda; and several nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a step-son, Marvin Lander Jr.; a nephew, Justin Gathers; and a niece, Ashley Gathers.
There will be no visitation held.  A Celebration of her Life will be held for her family at a later date.

Mr. McGarry enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1955 until being honorably discharged on May 29, 1959.  He then served in the Reserves through 1963.
Dan was a member of the N.R.A., the Petrolia Masonic Lodge #363, and the Cranberry Area Lions Club.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Mr. McGarry was employed by Penelec and retired as a chief lineman in 1994.
He was married in Smicksburg on March 25, 1960 to the former Letha M. Wolfgong, and she survives.  Also surviving are two children: David McGarry and his wife Monique of Florida and Patricia "Patty" Elliott and her husband Eric of Seneca; three grandchildren: Christopher and Sean McGarry, and Courtney Elliott-Lewis and her husband Tyler; a sister, Linda Watkowski and her husband Joe; and two nieces, Ann Mayles and Kate Diggers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Evelyn McGarry.
