Obituary Preview: Pat Harvey Simpson, born December 11, 1940 in Hamilton, Texas, peacefully passed away in his sleep on Sunday, April 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren. Pat was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished grandfather with a wonderful sense of humor, an animated Temple College professor, a curious biologist, and an avid sports enthusiast who relished winning at everything from racquetball to golf. He embraced life fully, laughed freely, and shared generously.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents Randell and Lucille Simpson, as well as his beloved wife, Charlotte Ann Taylor Simpson. He is survived by his brother, Mickey Simpson of El Paso, Texas; his son Randell Simpson and daughter-in-law Maria of Temple; his daughter Patti Simpson of Temple; his daughter Luci Simpson of Weslaco, Texas; and his son John Michael Simpson and son-in-law Mark Leech of Temple. He is also survived by numerous cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Geoffrey Ernest Popp, age 68, of Belton entered his heavenly home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital. He was born to parents Sylvia and Ernest Popp in Pensacola, Florida on September 12, 1955.
Geoffrey graduated from Temple High School in 1973. He worked over thirty years as a superintendent for Cash Construction. He was confirmed in the Temple Brethren Church but later in life attended Temple Bible Church.until his auto accident in 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, and brother, David Popp, as well as several aunts and uncles. We can be assured that he will be happily reunited with them all in the Kingdom of God.
Geoffrey is survived by his mother, Sylvia Popp of Temple and three sisters: Susan Popp of Austin, Nanette Popp of Belton, Laura Calhoun and husband Jim of Temple, as well as one brother, Richard Popp and wife Maureen of San Antonio. Other survivors include Aunt Bess and Uncle John Jez of Temple and Aunt Linda and Uncle Spencer of Shoreacres, Texas, two daughters Amanda Popp of Bastrop and Candace Popp of Austin as well as one stepson Joshua Schiller of Bastrop. Geoffrey was blessed with 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that will deeply miss him but will cherish the memories of times spent together.
The family will be hosting a Celebration Of Life Ceremony at The Harris Community Center in Belton on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. He will be interred at West Brethren Cemetery in West, Texas.

Obituary Preview: Phillip Fuentes, age 63, of Temple passed at his home in the early afternoon on Saturday, April 13, 2024. He was born on July 29, 1960, to parents Isabel (Morin) and Rudolph Fuentes in Belton, Texas.
Phillip was a graduate of Belton High School. He was a lifelong resident of the Temple and Belton area where he worked at R & R Auto Sales as a mechanic. He loved working on cars and was very dedicated to his job and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Noah Fuentes and 2 sisters Celia Medlin and Lila Tomson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: 4 sisters Virginia Ramirez of Belton, Alice Hernandez of Temple, Frances Nino and Elizabeth Fuentes of Temple, 2 brothers Jacob Fuentes of Troy, and Felix Fuentes of Little River. He was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews. Phillip will be deeply missed by all those who knew him from his family to those in the Temple and Belton community. Anyone who knew him through friendship or by the time spent doing what he loved most, working on cars knew he was a dedicated worker and friend.
A service will be held at Mt. Calvary Church in Temple on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11 o’clock a.m.

Obituary Preview: David Gonzales, age 92, Temple passed in the afternoon on Thursday, April 11, 2024. He was being cared for at a long-term care facility with his family by his side. David was born in Nopal, Texas to parents Juana (Hernandez) and Estanislao Gonzales on July 12, 1931. He grew up in the Nopal area farming with his parents and siblings.
David met the love of his life Carolina Suniga of Nordheim, Texas and they were married on December 6, 1948 and remained together for 76 years until his passing.
They eventually moved to the Temple area in 1972 where he worked for Bob & Buddy Lewis of Lewis Farms from 1972 until his retirement in 1993. David loved dancing with his wife at the Pioneer Ballroom and the G.I. Forum here in Temple. He loved music, fishing, hunting and making barbeque for his family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline, daughter Mary Torrez of Temple. grandson Julian (Stephanie) Torrez of Joshua and granddaughter Christina Torrez of Temple. David was also blessed to have two great-granddaughters, Bethanie Torrez and Zyana Romero. His memory will live on and be cherished by all that knew him.
Services for David will be at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple, Texas on Friday, April19, 2024 with a visitation and rosary officiated by Father Ranjan Cletus.

earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Beyond his duties as a police officer, he was deeply involved in volunteer work within the law enforcement community. He cherished the camaraderie and brotherhood shared among his fellow officers and was always eager to lend a helping hand whenever needed. His passion for service extended beyond the badge, as he devoted countless hours to volunteering with Brothers and Sisters in Law Enforcement, providing support, and fostering connections within the community. Bob was also a dedicated supporter of organizations like Fuzzy
Friends, where he tirelessly advocated for the welfare of animals in need. Whether through volunteering his time or donating resources, he made a lasting
impact on the lives of countless individuals and furry friends alike. Bob’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift those who follow in his footsteps. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Margie Lee. He is survived by his children, David and his wife Penny, and Krista and her husband Mike; grandchildren Shannon, David

Idia lived in the Temple area for over 13 years, she was a Certified Nurse Assistant and enjoyed helping others throughout her career. She was a member of the Temple Black Heritage Committee here in this area. Idia was a member of the True Holiness Church APF of Temple.
Idia is preceded in death by her mother, Magalene.
Idia is survived by her children: Jacqueline McDonald, Angela McDonald, Robert (Wyneke) McDonald, and Leanna Garner, sister Bessie Perkins and nephew Aaron McDonald. She was blessed to have 15 grandchildren: Brittney, Quentin, Randall, Quantez (Shametta), Chantele, Brandi, Raquavia, Raven, Robert II, Nekiel, Jabari, Kah’lil, Cade, Cailyn, and Chandler. She was a great-grandmother to 15 great grandchildren: Randall Jr., Robert Jr., Camille, Zoey, Bernard Jr., Jovi, Damari, Shiloh, Makiya, Maniya, Matthew Jr., Daisy, Nekiel II, Xionix, and Samara.
She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched through her work and church affiliation. Her extended family and friends that are left behind will always cherish the memories of her love and compassion shown to others throughout time spent with her family and community.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hewett-Arney Funeral Home In Temple.

Obituary Preview: Barbara Jean Macek, age 74, passed from this life on Thursday, March 28th, 2024, at a local care facility in Temple. She was born July 3rd, 1949 in Rosebud, TX to her parents, Lucy Minnie Greger and Ervin Joseph Willberg, whom she greatly admired.
She was a simple woman who grew up on a farm near Westphalia, TX where her parents taught her the value of hard work, the loving way to treat others, and above all, to love God.
People who knew Barbara would say she was supportive, caring, understanding, and forgiving. She was always willing to help her family, friends, and community. She loved people, laughing, and having a good time. She greeted people with a big smile on her face and with a compliment to give. She was gracious and had a great personality until the very end. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara was a graduate of Lott High School and attended Temple Junior College. She married the love of her life, Robert Macek, on October 3rd, 1970 in Westphalia. They settled in the Cyclone community. Barbara regularly attended mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and helped with church functions. She was an active member of SPJST Lodge 24 in Cyclone, served a term as president and helped with fundraisers for many years. Through the years, Barbara worked at Artco Bell, Texas Rehabilitation, Texas Employment Commission, Cyclone Corral BBQ, and retired from the Texas Attorney General's Office in Temple.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rita Matkovich, of Centerville, Iowa.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Macek of Cyclone, daughter Janet Ashcraft of Seaton, three sons: Carl Macek of Cyclone, David Macek of Temple, and Mark Macek and wife Marla of Tyler. She is also survived by three brothers: Charles Willberg, Ronnie Willberg, and Steve Willberg, all of Westphalia, four sisters: Doris Wright and Connie Tindle, both of Westphalia, Karen Pomykal of Rosebud, and Arlene Wegwerth of Robinson. She was blessed to have 4 grandchildren: Cortni and Kalen Ashcraft, and John and Anna Macek. Barbara also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cyclone on Monday, April 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. with the rosary starting at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, April 2nd at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ranjan Cletus officiating and Deacon Charlie Wright assisting at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cyclone. Interment will follow the service at Cyclone Cemetery.

Hazel has been a resident of the Lott area since 2018. She grew up in Port Arthur and attended Catholic schools there. Hazel raised her family and kept her household in order. She was affiliated with the Catholic church. On June 7th, 1958, Hazel married the love of her life Robert Lee Fuller in Port Arthur, TX. Hazel and her husband, Robert, made their home in Call, Texas for 53 years. Hazel enjoyed going to Walmart, shopping, and watching WWE wrestling and pro football when she could. Most of all Hazel loved her dogs and her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, one son: Robert III, and all of her siblings.
Hazel leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Terry Russell and husband Roy of Lott, son David Fuller of Kirbyville, grandson Eric Crane of Lott, and grandson Dusty Crane of Colorado.

Diane has been a resident of the Temple area for the majority of her life. She graduated from University High School in Waco in 1965. Diane worked as an administrative assistant in Voluntary Service for the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C. until she retired in 2006. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Temple. In 1994, Diane married the love of her life Harold Ray Mitchell in Temple but had many years together prior. The two went on to build a home and life together that included three daughters and one son. She loved to travel, dance, garden, go shopping, and discover new cooking recipes. Diane always enjoyed a girl's trip with the family. She loved living her life, and most of all she loved her family. Diane will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Lynn Copeland.
Diane leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Harold Ray Mitchell of Temple, three daughters: Neeley Heffington of Tulsa, Lindsey Kocsis and husband Michael of Temple, Jennifer Boone and husband Michael of Alvarado, son Brett Mitchell and wife Johanna of Temple, sister Megan Joachim and husband Michael of Quitmann, ten grandchildren: Hayden Maddux and wife Miranda, Izabel Talley, Katherine Talley, Kayla Rogers and husband Bryan, Trenton Steele, Blake Mitchell and wife Taylor, Bryant Mitchell, Brynna Mitchell, Jakob Boone, Lukas Boone, and 2 great-grandchildren: Lincoln Rogers and Maddox Mitchell.

Douglas graduated from Temple High School in 1974 and remained a resident of the Temple area his entire life. He worked as a truck driver for Jack-Hilliard- Budweiser for 5 years then went on to work for Hilliard Trucking for the next 15 years. Douglas loved to watch T.V., drink beer, have BBQ cookouts, and most of all hang out with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Steven Hilliard.
Douglas is survived by his mother Helga Hilliard, brother Mike Hilliard of Temple, sons Kirby Hilliard of Wylie and Dalton Hilliard of Temple, daughter Kim Sotero of Hillsboro, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Becky grew up in La Porte, TX; she moved to Moody and has resided there for the past 22 years. Becky worked as an LVN at a rest home, nursing care facility. She was affiliated with the St. Eugene Catholic Church in McGregor. Becky married the love of her life Paul Wachsmann in October 1993 in West, TX. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Becky leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Paul Wachsmann of Moody, son Ben Wachsmann of Ruston, LA, daughter Mary Jackson of Gentry, AR, daughter Amy Johnson of Minnesota, mother Margie Greer of Moody, brother Donald Kirland of North Shore, TX, and 11 grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Ronald Leroy Dean, age 88, of Temple returned home to his Heavenly Father during the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 12th, 2024, at William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple. He was born on the 14th day of March 1935 in San Antonio, TX, to parents Lois Cornelia (Childress) and Jason Dean.
While stationed in Homestead, FL, Ronald proudly served in the US Air Force from February 1st, 1956, to February 17th, 1958. Ronald graduated from Temple High School and lived in the Temple area before and after his release from the service in 1956. Ronald was a licensed pilot and flew his own single-engine Cessna for several years. He was the owner and proprietor of Dean’s Muffler Shop in Temple and was associated with the VFW Lodge organization. Ronald was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jason and Lois, sister Gloria Randolph, son Brian Kevin Dean, half-brothers: Jason, Ralph, and Paul Dean, and half sister Frances.
Ronald leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons: Ronald Edward Dean, Howard Todd Dean, and Jason Patrick Dean, along with three grandchildren: Kevin Marley Dean, Kiernan Bayliff Dean, and Quinn Childress Dean.
A memorial service in honor of Ronald will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at 10 a.m.

Bobby Dean Reagan - October 18, 1950 - March 11, 2024

Obituary Preview: Bobby Dean Reagan Sr., age 73, of Rosebud, TX, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 11th, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White-Hillcrest in Waco, TX. He was born in West Ridge, Arkansas on the 18th day of October 1950 to Loraine Elizabeth (Dewailly) and Carville Esten Reagan.
Bobby lived in the Temple area for 27 years before moving to Rosebud where he has resided for the last ten years. He enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served his country. Bobby met the love of his life Billie Barnes and they were married in Bell County on June 12th, 1987. Bobby worked for Bell Air Conditioning in Belton for many years. He also was a government contractor and went overseas to Afghanistan for three years working on installing HVAC systems. After retiring Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family at gatherings. He was often caught piddling as some would say and enjoyed being outside with his garden. He was always trying to make things better for himself and those he loved. Bobby will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bobby is survived by his wife Billie Reagan of Rosebud, daughter Alicia Barnes of Rosebud, son Bobby Reagan Jr. of Rosebud, three brothers: Billy Reagan of Bell County, Quitman Reagan of Waco, Allen Reagan of Waco, sister Diane Ubanke of Temple, sister Debbie Reagan of Belton, and two grandchildren.
Private family service will be held at a later date.

Antonio loved to laugh; he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and friend Dale Ellis Netzel, age 66, on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024, after braving a long illness. Dale was born on July 21st, 1957, in Niagara Falls, NY, to Victor Gordon Netzel and his wife Virginia Mildred (Burrows).
Dale’s younger years were spent growing up in Salamanca, NY. After serving a stint in the US Navy, Dale was a paint line supervisor and loved his job. Dale lived his life between various states of upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Missouri, and his later years in the great state of Texas. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, football, his dogs, and above all else, his family. Everything Dale did in life was for his family’s wellbeing.
Dale has left behind his greatest joys; his wife of 44 years Beverly Jean Netzel of Texas, son Victor Ellis Netzel and grandson David Ellis Netzel both of Salamanca, NY, son Matthew James Netzel (Crys Rodriguez) and four granddaughters; Abigail Marie Netzel of Belton, Keeley Ann Netzel, Kyndall Lynn Netzel, and Kennedy Kae Netzel all three of Mansfield, TX. Dale also leaves behind his daughter Tanya Marie Netzel, granddaughter Aubrey Jean Comardelle of Napoleonville, LA, and grandson Keegan Bryce Eldridge of Syracuse, NY.

Obituary Preview: Grant Lee Gulledge, age 74, of Troy, TX left this earth to go to his forever home on March 3rd, 2024. He was born on January 26th, 1950 to J.R. and Bessie Jezek Gulledge. Grant spent his life working non-stop until the very end. He was always a hard worker and he always stayed busy.
Grant went to Seaton School and graduated from Rogers High School in 1968. He started working at the age of 14, farming with his uncle. Then during his last couple years of high school he worked at Southland Ice Co. He worked at Texas Hydraulics for 32 years as a production and purchasing manager. He worked at Temple Machine Shop for 22 years as a purchasing manager. He served proudly in the Airborne Infantry at the Temple Unit and in the Army Reserves Unit in Waco, TX. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy.
In his younger days, Grant enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, water skiing, playing guitar and drums in bands. Later in life he enjoyed playing dominoes, cards and listening to oldies music.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Jezek Bearden.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy Pippins Gulledge. His three sons, Gary, Charlie and Kevin Gulledge. His two grandsons, Dylan and Ryan Gulledge. His sister, Debbie Bearden Seifts. His niece and nephew, Jennifer Seifts Gonzales and Frederick Seifts the Fourth. His 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at the Potter’s House Christian Church in Temple on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 starting at 1 o’clock p.m. No graveside service will be held. The Potter’s House Christian Church is located at 1105 North General Bruce Drive, Temple, TX 76501.

Sheila grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy High School. She had been a resident of the Troy area her entire life until 2017 when she moved to be with her daughter. Sheila was affiliated with the Troy Baptist Church. She operated a home day care center for many years. In August of 1971, Sheila married the love of her life Bill Standfield in Bartlett, TX. The two went on to build a home and life together. She was a straight shooter. Sheila enjoyed watching Korean Soap Operas on TV and cooking for her loved ones. She absolutely loved red cardinals, daisies, and most of all her family. Sheila will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Sheila leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Bill Standfield of Spring Branch, son Brian Standfield and wife Vera of Evant, daughter Nancy West and husband Kirby of Spring Branch, sister Donna Kay Koch of Lubbock, sister Rose Ann Early, six grandchildren: Breezy West, Ryan West, Spencer Standfield, Nathan Standfield, Amy Standfield, Chelsea Standfield and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at 1 p.m.

Hospital in Temple for 30 years in various departments including EKG Tech. Upon retiring he went fishing. Weldon will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Weldon is survived by his wife Ella in Granbury, his sons: Bruce of Granbury and Dale from Belton. He also leaves behind his daughters-in-law Cathie and Glenda, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation services are in care of Hewett-Arney Funeral Home.
A private burial with family will be held in the future.

She loved to cook for her family, drink her coffee, and visit the beach and ocean when she could. Anna loved her precious grandchildren very much. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Earl Monroe Washburn Jr., four grandchildren: Raiden Garcia, Katlynn Fowler, Destiny Mercer, and Chevelle Mercer.
