Obituary Preview: Barbara Louise Slonecki, age 88, passed away unexpectedly with her family at her side at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital on Christmas, December 25, 2020.
She was born on December 13, 1932 to Stella (Badzinski) and Lewis C. Osborn in Victory Township, Ludington, Michigan. She graduated from St. Simons High School in 1950. Barbara married Harlan J. Slonecki on July 11, 1952, at St. Simons Catholic Church in Ludington, MI. She moved to Manistee with Harlan, they were life members of Guardian Angels Church, now know as the Divine Mercy Parish and a life member of the Holy Rosary Society. Always thinking she would die first, she missed her beloved Harlan, he preceded her in death on March 31, 2017.
Known as Bobbie, she worked as the caf manager at Grants in Manistee, in the laminating department at Century Boat, prior to retirement, as the dietician at Tender Care Nursing Home in Manistee. She looked forward to working on the City of Manistee Election Boards for many years.
She is survived by three children: Debi (Len) Bialik, Harlan (Denise) Slonecki, Tom (Judy) Slonecki. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger sister, Patricia Zwiefka, and her brother in-law Dale (Hazel) Slonecki of Manistee. Numerous nieces and nephews, along with many cousins from the Ludington area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, younger sister Joan Engfer, Joans husband Herbie, brother in-law William (Vic) Zwiefka and nephew Fr. William (Bill) Zwiefka.
A life well lived, Bobbie was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend She looked forward to the family tradition of watching the 4th. Of July parade passing in front of her home and enjoyed seeing the lights of Downtown Manistee from her window, With Harlan, she enjoyed camping, traveling and their winters at Craigs RV Park in Arcadia, FL, for most of their last twenty years together, forming many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Pinochle, she was a member of the Craig RV Red Hats, the Arcadia Moose Lodge, Manistee Eagles, and a past American Legion Post #10 Auxiliary member.
According to Barbaras wishes cremation has taken place and because of family concerns about the COVID-19 restrictions, they are planning a funeral, burial and celebration of life around the 4th. of July 2021. Times and dates will be published at that time.

She was born on September 29, 1925 in Eastlake, Michigan the daughter o the late Martin and Eva (Wall) Jaratz. Dorothy married Walter J. Witkowski Sr. on October 19, 1946 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1992.
Dorothy loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved animals and her love spread to many family pets, feeding and watching birds and helping a stray animal in need. Dorothys children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She was never too busy to play games with them, read to them or just spend time talking with them. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee, (St. Joseph Catholic Church).
Dorothy is survived by two daughters and sons in-law, Virginia "Jean" and Daniel Kuczynski of Eastlake, MI, and Lee and Emery Haik of Portland, MI, two sons and daughters in-law, Walter and Barbara Witkowski Jr, and Richard and Barbara Witkowski of Manistee, MI, ten grandchildren; Vicki (Jason) Pefley, Jill (Bill) Eroh, Lisa (Rich Obetts) Kuczynski, Emelee (Jim) Drier, Alex (Courtney Schrauben) Haik, Aaron (Kelsey) Witkowski, Monica (Logan) Qulbell, Wendy (Mark) Muszynski, Matthew (Gayle) Witkowski, and Elliett (Dana) Witkowski; thirteen great grandchildren; James and Megan Pefley, Matthew and Brayden Eroh, Zakary and Rylee Adamczak, Pearl, Gus and Ozzie Muszynski, Jude, Charlie, Henry and Evelyn Witkowski and a brother-in-law John Witkowski Jr. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Dana Adamczak, threer sisters and a brother in-law. Lillian and Ray Tomaszewski, Gladys Smith, Beatrice Stone and by three brothers, Thomas Jaratz, Martin Jaratz Jr, and John Jaratz.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services will be held and announced in the spring of 2021, when the restrictions may ease.

She was born in Stronach, Michigan on February 7, 1936, daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (Jados) Froncek. Chris was a graduate of Manistee High School with the class of 1953. She married Jerome J. Kolanowski on August 28, 1976 in Manistee, Michigan. Chris was employed in the office at Packaging Corporation of America until her retirement. One of her favorite pass times was growing and tending to her flower garden. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee, (St. Joseph Catholic Church).
Chris is survived by her husband, Jerome J. Kolanowski of Manistee, MI, her sister Caroline Milarch of Manistee, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers in-law, Elizabeth and Fred Guenthardt, Alvina and Milo "Mike" Uhl, Dolores and Raymond Kubacki, her brother and sister in-law, Daniel and Joan Froncek and her brother in-law, Darwin Milarch.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning one hour prior to the funeral mass.

She was born on October 3, 1979, in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of Daniel Skocelas and the late Linda (Field) Skocelas. Karen was a graduate of Manistee High School with the class of 1998. She attended Grand Valley State University and received her Bachelors Degree in 2002. Karen married Trevor M. Nash on September 11, 2010, at Faith Covenant Church in Manistee. She continued her studies and received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Baker College in 2013. Karen excelled as an artist, enjoyed photography, and loved spending time with her husband and son on Portage Point beach. She was extremely passionate about rescue animals and an avid animal lover. She was also a talented baker and cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Trevor Nash, her sweet son, Alister Nash, her father, Daniel Skocelas, her two sisters, Melynda Ziehm and Amy Johnson, all of Manistee, MI, her father in-law and mother in-law, Robert and Carolyn Nash of Hopkins, MI, and her sister in-law and brother in-law, Heather and Chris Porter of Dallas, TX, her nieces and nephews, Mitchell and Mya Ziehm, Nicholas and Brady Johnson, Emma and Wyatt Porter. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive her.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother this past March 18th, 2020.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee on Thursday, December 10, 2020 with Reverend Erik D. Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee.

Obituary Preview: Joan Elaine Lijewski, age 87 of Manistee, Michigan, died Thursday evening, Nov. 26, 2020. She was living at Ludington Woods Assisted Living at the time of her death.
Joan was born on Feb. 21, 1933, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, daughter of the late Jason and Genevieve Bouma. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish in Manistee. Joan graduated from Manistee High School in 1951.
Joan married Raphael (Ray) Anthony Lijewski on Nov. 27, 1953, in Manistee, Michigan. They were married 66 years.
Joan was a devoted mother and wife. During her lifetime, she enjoyed spending time with her family and particularly enjoyed the annual July 4th family reunions. She also enjoyed knitting sweaters, afghans, and Christmas stockings for her family.
Joan was active in golfing, bowling, and playing bridge with her family and friends. Joan and Ray were members of Manistee Golf and Country Club. In retirement, they wintered in Gulf Shores, Alabama along with their many friends from Manistee and Bear Lake.
She was employed by the Manistee Area Public Schools as a secretary at Jefferson Elementary School before retiring after 20 years of service.
Joan was an active member of St. Anns Circle of the former Guardian Angels Church, preparing luncheons following funeral masses for church members.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband Ray on Sept. 5, 2020. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Andersen; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Valerie Lijewski, Gary and Cherrie Lijewski, and Jeffrey and Elizabeth Lijewski. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Melissa Andersen, Jeffellyn Camacho, Jacquelyn Artim, Andrew Lijewski, Nicole Beck, Jason Lijewski and Matthew Lijewski; and seven great-grandchildren, Christopher and Milani Camacho, Kinley and Carter Lijewski, Owen and Gavin Artim, and Landon Ray Beck; and many nieces and nephews.

He was born on October 21, 1937 in Manistee, Michigan son of the late Eugene T. and Eleanore M. (Heuck) Kott. Ron was a graduate of Manistee High School with the class of 1957. He was employed with the Morton Salt Company in Manistee for forty years as an electrician. He lived in Manistee all of his life, and loved to hunt and go golfing, ride his Harley Davidson motor cycle, traveling and spending time in Arizona. For many years he enjoyed spending his time with his sister, brother in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Ron was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish (Guardian Angels Catholic Church) of Manistee, and a member of the American Legion Post #10 of Manistee.
He is survived by his sister and brother in-law, Judith (Judy) and Ted Ross, his niece Julie and Paul Swidorski, his great niece Megan (Dylan) Savela, his two great nephews, Matthew (Lindsey) Swidorski, and Mason (Briann) Swidorski, and three great-great nephews River Savela, Talon Swidorski and Bowen Swidorski all of Manistee.
Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, private family services will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic celebrant. Final interment of Rolands cremated remains to be in Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee.

Kenneth Lorain Furman - May 28, 1934 - November 25, 2020

Obituary Preview: Kenneth L. Furman age 86 of Manistee, MI died Wednesday November 25, 2020 at his home with his wife and son by his side.
He was born May 28, 1934 in Pontiac, Michigan son of the late Lorain & Mildred (Hammond) Furman. Ken graduated from Pontiac Central High School and later attended Lawrence Institute of Technology and graduated with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. He served his country in the United States Navy from June 15, 1954 thru June 11, 1958 receiving an honorable discharge. Kenneth married Evelyn J. Gocha on July 15, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Auburn Heights, Michigan. They have celebrated over 59 years of marriage together. He was employed at General Motors Truck and Coach for most of his life. During his working career he was a welder, tool and die maker, machinist and the Process Engineer at the GM Plant. Ken was a great supporter of his family, children and grandchildren as well as the Boy Scouts where he was a leader and a Boy Scout himself and he also supported his community by being a regular blood doner and an advocate for the Little Manistee Water Shed.
Ken loved to travel and took his family on many excursions throughout the western United States, a family man who enjoyed large family gatherings with his parents, brothers, sisters and all of their children and extended families. He enjoyed music and listening to classical and country music, also his wife when she played her organ and piano. He loved being in the out of doors and camping. One of his greatest attributes was that he was a light hearted and kind human being.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee, he was a choir member at Sacred Heart Parish in Auburn Heights.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Furman, his son Michael (Kathy Lipkowski) Furman and his daughter Lisa Miller, his grandchild Andrew Miller, a sister Joanne Drain and a brother Carl Joe Furman. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, Lorain & Mildred Furman by a son Marc Furman, two sisters Jeanette Fisher and June Furman and by three brothers Alan, Donald and Larry Furman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 12:30p.m. with Reverend Ruben Munoz celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday one hour prior to his funeral mass. Final interment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.

Dan was employed with Metal Works and Fab- Lite for many years and most recently at the Morton Salt Company all in Manistee. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, spending Sundays watching the Detroit Lions, hunting and just enjoying being outdoors.
Dan is survived by two daughters, Kaylee Kaminski (Kyle McDougall), and Megan Kaminski (Tom Gillespie), all of Manistee, MI, his son, Andrew Kaminski of Lapeer, MI, and the mother of their children, Carol Kaminski of Manistee, MI, three grandchildren, Brayden McDougall, Colten McDougall and Carson Gillespie all of Manistee, MI, his parents, Clifford and Frances Kaminski of Manistee, MI, two sisters and a brother in-law, Lori Bevans, and Debbie and Steve Najdowski all of Manistee, MI, two brothers and a sister in-law, Paul and Cori Kaminski of Alto, MI. and Phil Kaminski of Stronach, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Dan.

Simon preceded her in death on December 25, 2000. Most of her life she was a homemaker and was devoted to raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Besides her family, one of her greatest joys in her life was dancing "She Loved to Dance". She attended St. Marys of Mt. Carmel Shrine Church in Manistee.
She is survived by two daughters and a son in-law, Stephanie Edgington and Rebecca and Al Mattison all of Manistee, six sons and four daughters in-law, Cruz Vasquez, Ruben and Juanita Vasquez, Raul and Jean Vasquez Sr., Roberto and Peggy Vasquez all of Manistee, Martin and Laura Vasquez and Marcos Vasquez all of Port Charlotte, Florida, twenty two grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, her sister Olivia Gonzales of Houston, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
Irene was also preceded in death by her grandson, Roger Vasquez; daughter in-law, Maryjane Vasquez; her son in-law, James Edgington; her sister Sylvia Lugo and by her brother Roque Ramirez.

She was born on August 10, 1934 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of the late Thaddeus (Ted) and Dolores (Rittenberg) Wegenka. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1953. On October 8, 1955, Pat married Gerald Schubert at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Gerry preceded her in death on January 25, 2003.
Faith, family, and friends were the priorities in Pats life. She cherished her roles in life as wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was happiest when family or friends gathered at her table, especially for Sunday dinners, or just a cup of coffee and dessert. You could always find her in the stands, at the slopes, or near the fields cheering on her children and grandchildren during their school years, and she was always available to babysit when needed.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish (St. Joseph Catholic Church) and a member of St. Joseph Rosary Altar Society.
She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law; Karen & Greg Miller of Onekama, MI, three sons & daughters-in-law; Mark & Betty Schubert of Grand Haven, MI, Jeff & Julie Schubert of Irons, MI and Todd & Diane Schubert of Free Soil, MI, three grandchildren; Josh (Sara) Schubert, Kelly (Alex) Meyers and Evan Schubert, three step-grandchildren, Gordy & Andrew Johncock and Megan (Zach) Zupin, four great grandchildren, Penny & Heidi Schubert and Wyatt & Zoey Zupin and one brother, Michael Wegenka of Louisiana. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Louise Wegenka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Ruben Munoz celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning, one hour prior to the mass.

She was born on September 26, 1934 in Manistee, Michigan, daughter of the late Benet "Ben" & Marie (Kapalczynski) Pachesny. On April 18, 1953 she married Robert F. Strandberg in Ludington, Michigan and together they raised seven children. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2014. Prior to retirement, Rose was employed at the Glen of Michigan as a garment presser, as well as a planter/sorter at Hramor Nursery. In 1992, at the age of 57, Rose and her family shared the pride of her return to night school; where she successfully completed all the requirements prescribed by the State Board of Education and was awarded her High School Certification. She enjoyed decorating her home with her husband, for the various holidays throughout the year. She looked forward to the visits and good conversations with her sister Carol; as well as welcomed the challenges of a good word search book.
She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Kathleen and Steve Davis of Anderson, Indiana, her daughter in-law, Lora Strandberg of Manistee, MI, four sons & two daughters-in-law; Robert Strandberg Jr of Bay City, MI, Richard Strandberg & Sandra Dole of Manistee, MI, Kevin & Greta Strandberg of Manistee, MI and Dale & Joann Strandberg of Durand, MI, sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, and her sister Carol OHerron of Manistee, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents Benet & Marie (Kapalczynski) Pachesny, her husband Robert, a daughter Karen Strandberg, son Michael Strandberg, grandson Stephen Strandberg, her sisters and brothers in-law, Patricia and Floyd Comstock, Thomas OHerron, Joan Helminski, Susanne Underwood and by her brother Bernard Pachesny
According to Roses wishes, cremation has taken place and a time of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Acles of Manistee, three grandchildren, Laura Acles and Michael Acles both of Manistee, and David & Anne Acles of Mt. Pleasant, MI, four great grandchildren Amber, Adriana, Pierce and Aiden, three sisters, Veronica Kolk and Gertrude Sowa both of Manistee and Marilyn Perski of Grand Rapids, MI. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was also preceded in death by her son in-law, Richard "Ric" Acles and by her two brothers and a sister in-law, Robert Newman and Stephen and Agnes Newman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 23, 2020 at 12 noon at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic celebrant. Burial of her cremated remains will follow at Mount Carmel cemetery also in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning, one hour prior to the Mass.

He worked at the Iron Works, Glen of Michigan and PCA prior to starting his own business, Carls Excavating, which he began with a small dozer, an old van and a homemade trailer. Carl ran his business for 37+ years. He was an avid hunter and in his retirement took up chainsaw carving. He created many replicas of eagles, bears, fish and other animals. He like spending time with his grandchildren and was a member of Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee.
He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, his parents, Brothers David and Frank, sisters Marie and brother-in-law Tony, and nephew Mike Ortiz, sister Virginia and brother-in-law Richard and nephew Rick Bromley.
He married Delphine Mladucky on July 29, 1967 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee who survives him along with his sons Douglas (Brenda), Scott (Kristi) and Eric (Kendra) and grandchildren Amber (Ted) Green, Ashley (Andy) Vandonselaar, Jessica, Alyssa, Lauren, Kyle and Derek and great granddaughter Grace Anne, sisters Marge (Bob) Bromley, Alice (Ron) Mallison, brothers Paul and fianc Nikki, and Leonard (Cindy) and numerous nieces and nephews.

On April 21, 1951 she married Conrad J. Adamski at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2013. For most of her life Betty was a sales representative for the Avon Company and also a stay at home mom. Betty was very active in her children and grandchildrens school activities, academics, sports, drama productions, dance recitals and music programs. She was a member of the M.C.C. Band Boosters and a strong supporter of the schools Athletic Programs having volunteered in the concession stand for many years. Betty and Conrad were inducted into M.C.C. Hall of Fame in 2006. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee (Guardian Angels Catholic Church).
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Diana & Mike Shively of Manistee and their children and families, Kevin and Carrie Shively and their children, Faith and Brienna , Adam Shively and his son Conrad and Jason and Ashley Shively, daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Robert Gregorski of Scottville, and their children Nicole and Mike Eby and their children Emerson, Hudson and Ryan and Fina Gregorski all of Ludington and Nathan Gregorski of Los Angeles, CA, her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Deborah Adamski of Jenison and their children, Megan of Quincy, MA, Emily of Toledo, OH and Angela Adamski of Jenison, daughter Karen Adamski and her children Kenneth Messer and his son, Aaron Messer and Heather Messer and her sisters in-law, Geraldine Gage of Manistee and Lorraine Adamski of Eastlake. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish (Guardian Angels Catholic Church) of Manistee and a Member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Kathy (Mark) Schott of Brethren, MI, and Deanna Howe of Manistee, MI her sons John (Kandy) OBrien, David (Rena) OBrien and George OBrien all of Manistee, MI, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her sons Edward and Ronald OBrien.

Obituary Preview: Lorraine M.(Dahlke) Adamski age 91 of Manistee passed on to her eternal life on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 20, 1928 in Manistee, Michigan daughter of the late Edward & Anna (Feliczak) Dahlke.
Lorraine was a well-known, lifelong resident of Manistee. Over several years, she made many good friends through her work at the Colonial Flower Shop and the School House Store. A very welcoming person, she was named "Favorite Hostess" of Manistee no less then twelve times for her work at the 440 Restaurant. In her later years as a resident of the Manistee County Medical Care Facility, she continued to welcome the new residents on her floor as they arrived at the facility and assisted others in the dining room whenever she could.
Lorraine loved Michigan State University football and basketball, especially coach Tom Izzo. She was a Detroit Tigers fan and spent many late-night hours watching the "Golden Girls" on cable TV.
She was devoted to her family, supporting and caring for them in many ways. A strong supporter of Manistee Catholic Central, she made sure she attended her childrens and more recently her grandchildrens school activities and sporting events. Attending her grandsons Special Olympic events was also a priority.
Above all, Lorraine displayed a deep love of our Lord. Her faith was strong to the very end. She was not afraid to demonstrate her love for her heavenly Father in front of others. She served as a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. She instilled her love of our Lord in her children as well.
Sadly missed by her family, we rejoice in her passing on to her eternal life. We are thankful for her nearly 92 years here on earth and we look forward to the time we will be together again.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary & Greg Van Drie of Manistee and their son Justin Van Drie, her daughter Lisa Adamski and her children Regan & RiAnn Leiffers all of Manistee, her son & daughter-in-law Paul & Toni Adamski of Manistee and their children Evan Hall of China and Cody Hall of Traverse City and one great grandson Mason Hall of Traverse City. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Mary Lou Adamski, two brothers & sisters-in-law Edward Jr. & Altha Dahlke and Clemens & Charlotte Dahlke and her childrens father Ralph Adamski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 5, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Richard Bartoszek celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee.
The Evening Vigil Service will be prayed Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. until leaving for the church at 11:15 a.m.

LeAnn married Anthony "Tony" Gagliardo on March 23, 1968 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2018.
She was a beautiful vibrant woman, whose quick-witted humor often filled a room with laughter. LeAnn also known as mom, Lee Lee, Auntie, OB, but no matter what you called her, you knew you were loved and she always had a listening ear. LeAnn celebrated life to the fullest with her family and friends, while often impeccably dressed or with funny hat or party themed outfit. She loved to sing and hum, being at the beach, taking rides, and shopping and of course all those returns! Her fun-loving sprit was felt by all she touched. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee (Saint Joseph Catholic Church), where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the St. Joseph Altar-Rosary Society. LeAnn was also a member of the monthly Wednesday BUNCO Club.
LeAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Guenthardt and her sister Barbara.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 52 years, Anthony "Tony" Gagliardo. The apple of her eyes daughters Tonda (Karl) and Shana (Mike), Granddaughters Jessica and Molly, great- granddaughters Rubi and Vivian, Her brothers Chum (Nancy) Guenthardt, and Ron (Tina) Guenthardt, second mom to Jane, Patti and Jill, along with several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic celebrant. Cremation will follow the mass. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at noon.

She married Raymond E. Chmielewski on May 26 1962 at St. Simons Catholic Church in Ludington, MI. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1995. Throughout her lifetime Cookie was employed with Lewis Drug, Eberhards, Krogers, Blue Whale and most recently with the Apothecary Shoppe in retail sales. She was even voted best retail clerk in 1995. She was known as "Aunt Cookie" or Boosha" to everyone she met. She loved people and had a "large generous heart" and enjoyed being quick with a hug. Cookie loved living along the Manistee river channel and watching the boats and ships pass by and feeding the ducks. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially playing family card games with them. Her favorite saying was "Who are you from home?"
She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Manistee #496 and Court Ludington #745. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee, (Guardian Angels Catholic Church).
