He was born January 20, 1958 at Canton the son of Kenneth E. and Angelica (Garcia) Stufflebeam. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Deanna Willcox. Surviving are one brother, Ron (Dixie) Stufflebeam of Lewistown, one sister, Susan (Robert) Teats of Erie, three nephews, Ron & Jerry Willcox, and James Teats, one niece, Heather Myers, and great nephew & niece, Will & Angel Myers.
Mark had worked at Vaughn & Bushnell, and Caterpillar. Most recently he worked as an accountant. He attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Mark was a member of the Mensa Society. He was a very talented musician and mainly played the guitar and keyboard.

Obituary Preview: Roland E. “Gene” Pelton, 95, of Peoria and formerly of Lewistown passed away at 11:52 am Friday April 26, 2024 at his home.
He was born April 19, 1929, at Astoria, the son of Harold F. and Eva E. (Miller) Pelton. He married Clarice M. Yocum on May 30, 1950, at Lewistown. She died June 8, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rick Pelton, one brother, and one sister. Survivors include two daughters, Eva (Scott) Grubbs of Peoria, and Connie Rardon of Quincy, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one brother, Harold Ray (Marie) Butler of East Peoria, and two sisters, Lucretia (Ed) Yocum of Florida, and Betty Sheets of Ohio.
Gene was a WW 2 Navy veteran. He worked many years as a jeweler in Lewistown, Quincy, and Peoria before retiring.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Friday May 3, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military rites conducted by the United States Navy, the Lewistown VFW Post 5001, and American Legion Bishop Post 1. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Karen Hughes, and Diana Mikulich. Surviving are two sons, Clint (Christina) Sours of Lewistown, and Adam (Erin) Sours of Lewistown, six grandchildren, Jainee, Rhett, Karia, Mylie, Carter, and Adalee, and her beloved dog Peanut.
Roxann was a teachers aid at the Lewistown School District for many years. She was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church. Roxann enjoyed playing Bunco and traveling with her sisters and cousins. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and never missed any of their events.
Cremation will be accorded. There will be a visitation from 10 until 11:30 AM Tuesday April 30th at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. A graveside service will follow at 11:45 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown Fire & Rescue Squad. George worked for and retired from International Harvester/Navistar.
He enjoyed hunting, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Lillian graduated from Ellisville High School in 1941 where she was class president and valedictorian. She graduated from Cottage Hospital School of Nursing at Galesburg in 1943. Lillian worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid reader. She traveled extensively with her sister Iris all over the world.

She survives with four children, Darcy (Josh) Nelson of Venice, FL; Jim (Leslie) Evans of Lewistown, Tim (Terri) Smith of Waxhaw, NC; and Todd (Stephanie) Smith of Kernersville, NC; seven grandchildren, Chase Evans of Lewistown, Tanner Nelson of Chicago, Duncan Evans of Lewistown, Jake Nelson of Chicago, Madison Smith of Kernersville, NC; Tyler Smith of Kernersville, NC; and Michael (Amy) Utt of Waxhaw, NC; two great grandchildren, Ashlynn and Walker Utt of Waxhaw, NC, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Rob worked at International Harvester in Canton until the plant closing. He later worked for Lewistown District 97 Schools, and also farmed for many years. He served in the Illinois Air National Guard from 1965-1971, and also served on the Lewistown Fire Department. He loved to hunt, fish, spending time at the Buckbrush, coaching youth leagues and afternoons in the" Man Cave” with his buddies. Most of all he loved being with his family.

Also surviving are two children, Clint (Christina) Sours of Lewistown, and Adam (Erin) Sours of Lewistown, six grandchildren, Jainee, Rhett, Karia, Mylie, Carter, and Adalee, one brother, Mike Sours of Plevna, KS; three sisters, Diane (Steve) Scott of Kearns, UT; Debbie (Lester) Griffin, of Plevna, KS; and Lisa Sours of Canton, and his beloved dog, Peanut. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Terry was an over the road truck driver. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. Terry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Cremation will be accorded. There will be a visitation from 10 until 11:30 AM Friday March 22nd at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. A graveside service will follow at 11:45 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown where a military service will be conducted by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. She was born December 24, 1929 to Deloss and Flossie (Shipp) Leonard at home in Bernadotte Township, Fulton County, IL. She married Virgil W. Brewer on October 27, 1956 at Providence Church, west of Lewistown. He died June 27, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Pastor John Baumgartner IV, two sisters, Alzata Gorden, and Philomena Lester, and a close family friend, Linda Shawver. Surviving are three children, Ed (Adrina) Brewer of Lewistown, Virginia Baumgartner of Bloomsburg, PA; and Delbert (Annette) Brewer of rural Banner, eight grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
As a child Ethel rode her pony Tinkle to Hulvey School, a one room schoolhouse, after graduating from LCHS in 1947, she then worked for Martin M. Love, Law Office, for 10 years. In the early years of marriage Ethel and Virgil operated a Grade A dairy farm. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Colchester, and served the Lord in the former First Baptist Church in Lewistown for 37 years where she taught shorthand and bookkeeping at the Christian Academy. She then served at Grace Baptist Church in Havana. She was also a member of the Lewistown Alumni Association for many years. Ethel was a wonderful cook and would enter baked goods for judging at the Fulton County Fair. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling with Virgil all over the United States. Ethel’s family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Village in Macomb, and the MDH Hospice team for taking such wonderful care of her.

Surviving are four daughters, Cindy (Brad Andre) Hezlep of Galesburg, Daun (Jerry) Lillie of Lewistown, Teresa (Scott Mulligan) Fitch of Lewistown, and Tammy (Chris) Southwood of Astoria, twelve grandchildren, Ryan (Brady), Brandy (Chris), Jamie, Nathan, Chad (Ashley), Kara (Andrew), Joey (Lauren M.), Joe (Hannah), Lauren, Heather, Amber (Josh), and Shannon (Jared), twenty-three great grandchildren, Abby, Annie, Max, Nolan, Gracilyn, Presley, Paisley, Scarlett, Bennett, Clara, Hunter, Anna, Amelia, Hunter, Timber, Johanna, Little Joe, Bodhi, Drew, Dawson, Jared II, Melody, and Karley, two brothers, Lannie (Mary) Vaughn of Minnesota, Roger (Sally) Clark of Lewistown, two sisters, Linda (Chet) Phillips of Canton, and Jackie Malin of Oregon.
Marcia was a healthcare nurse for many years. Marcia enjoyed puzzles, coffee, going out to eat, and spending time with family especially her grandchildren.
Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday April 6th at Apple Cemetery with Pastor Kathy Barrett officiating. Burial of ashes will follow the service. Following the services at Apple Cemetery there will be a celebration of life at Marcia’s house. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family. Tom was born on March 2, 1950 in Owensboro, KY; to Joe Taylor and Louise Allgood-Ford. Tom was adopted and raised by Merle Ford Sr. He married Dana Yocum on February 18, 1971 in Lewistown. She survives along with two children, Valerie (Aaron) Brooks of Astoria, and Brian (Veronica) Ford of Lombard, two grandchildren, Will and Rachel Ford, three sisters, Mary Emma (Bill) Hughes, Marla Ford, and Marsha Ford all of Havana, one brother, Merle Ford Jr, of Lewistown, three aunts, Carol (Gene) Tomkins of Meridian, MS; Elizabeth Jackson of Calhoun, KY; and Alice Taylor of Owensboro, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tom was a 1968 graduate of Lewistown Community High School. He worked at Caterpillar and retired after 37 years. He was a member of Lewistown Masonic Lodge 104 AF&AM, and the Lewistown United Methodist Church. Tom enjoyed family, golf, motorcycles, hunting, and music.

Survivors include two children, Marc (Crystal) Evans of Carbondale, IL; Marci Evans of Peoria, IL; one grandson, Nicolas Evans of Bloomington, IN; and one sister, Audrey Curtis of Canton, IL.
Alan was a 1946 graduate of Canton High School. He worked as an engineer for Illinois Bell Telephone for 43 years and retired in 1989.

He was born on January 26, 1950, to Robert and Anna (Miller) Crombie in Peoria, IL. He married Christina Darling on July 16, 1975, in Bartonville, IL. He later married Mary Ann Marlin on April 3, 1981, in Princeton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Janelle (Mike) Chavis of Swansea, SC; his son, Daniel Marlin of Peoria, IL; his daughter, Amelia (Nicholas) Christy of Bryant, IL; his son, Sean (Nicole) Crombie of San Tan Valley, AZ; his sister, Elizabeth Crombie of Canton, IL; one nephew; and two nieces. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Collin Christy, Grant Christy and Sara Christy.
He attended Bradley University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology in 1984. He began working for the Illinois Department of Employment Security in 1985 as a Disabled Veterans Employment Representative, helping Veterans return to the workforce. He retired in 2014 after 28 years.
He attended Peoria Central High school until August of 1967, when he joined the United States Marine Corps. He trained at 29 Palms in California and was deployed to Vietnam in February of 1968. He was injured on March 4, by shrapnel, and, after recovering on a medical ship, returned to duty. He was injured again on April 28, under enemy fire, and received a gunshot wound to the leg and was sent to Great Lakes Naval to recuperate for one year. He received two purple heart medals for his injuries.
He moved to Swansea, SC, in 2022 to a large wooded property on a beautiful lake. He enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch, watching the birds and trees and reading good books. He enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends, learning about history and studying genealogy and belonged to the Washburn VFW Post before moving. He loved his country with honor.
Cremation rites have been accorded in South Carolina. A graveside service and burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, IL, on Friday March 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

She was born January 30, 1941 at Industry, the daughter of Lyman and Marcella (Lawson) Roberts. She married Ira William “Bill” Brooks on December 20, 1959 at Smithfield. He survives with three children, Ronald (Jennifer) Brooks of Havana, Kathleen Brooks of London Mills, and Terry (Maggie) Brooks of Cuba, ten grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) Brooks of Elberta, AL; Jessica (Marc) Huddleston of Peoria, Nicholas (Lindsey) Lindsey of Cuba, Kristen Martin of Bellville, Kayleen Tarter of Canton, Griffin Brooks of Cuba, Garrett Brooks of Cuba, Andrew Brooks of Havana, Benjamin Brooks of Havana, and Colton Brooks of Havana, six great grandchildren, Austyn and Baylie Huddleston, Luke, Liam, and Leia Lindsey, and Korbin Brooks, three brothers, Gary Roberts of Fairview, David Roberts of Canton, and Rick Roberts of Smyrna, DE. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant daughter, Debra Kay Brooks, and three siblings, Shirley Miller, Jimmy Roberts, and Mike Roberts.
Mary Jane was a member of Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield where she held many offices in the church including the church choir, United Methodist Women, youth group leader, and pastor parish chairman. She enjoyed many years of riding her horses including trail riding with her family and friends. She enjoyed crafts and making ceramics, and always had a puzzle that she was working on. Mary Jane helped her husband on the family farm and also ran two businesses during her lifetime, Sweaters and More, and was an avid Precious Moments collector which lead to owning Whydes Haus in Canton. She and her daughter enjoyed years of Precious Moments activities including having the artist Sam Butcher make an appearance at her store. She was also a huge Disney fan and would go to Disney almost every year with her husband, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with her entire family for a week. Services will be held at 10 am Saturday January 27, 2024 at Brock United Methodist Church with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. Visitation will be held Friday January 26, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba. Burial will be at Baughman Cemetery at rural Smithfield. He survives with two daughters, Andrea (Duane) Dean of Henry, and Brenda (special friend Kurt Striegel) Anderson of Wee Ma Tuk, two grandsons, Joshua Dean of Dunlap, and Brett (Paige) Dean of Chillicothe, four great grandchildren, Brynn, Scott, Rosalie, and Samuel, four sisters, Dee Dee (Mike) Williams of Naples, FL; Rona (Ron) Gutzky of Galesburg, Jane (Scott) Warren of Galesburg, and Lindsay (Keith) Peachey of Galesburg, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, and an infant son, Eric Anderson.
Tana was a school kindergarten teacher, and later worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Associates in Dentistry, and also for the Cuba School District. She later retired to become her husband’s secretary with Equitable Advisors. Tana loved playing the piano and accordion, loved card games and eating chocolates, and was a die hard Cubs fan. She enjoyed going to the casinos. She was a very caring and giving person and especially loved her family gatherings at their home in Wee Ma Tuk. Her greatest joy was her family, specifically her  two grandsons and 4 great grandchildren. She loved following them in their activities and never missed a time to speak about them. Cremation will be accorded, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. He survives with two children, Jeremy (Kalie) Nebergall and Lindsey Nebergall both of Lewistown, two grandchildren, Brady and Brooklyn Nebergall, four brothers, Harvey Johnson Jr. of Canton, Daniel (Cheryle) Johnson of Lewistown, Rick (Rhonda) Johnson of Lewistown, and Jim Johnson of Lewistown, three sisters, Ellie Vaughn of Lewistown, Barbara (Woody) Moore of Canton, and Melannie (Doug) Jallas of Chandlerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Christina Stephens and Melissa Arnett.
Cheryle was a 1977 graduate of Lewistown High School and had also attended Spoon River College. She retired from SC 2. She was an avid Cubs fan all her life. She adored her pets and loved her family and grandkids tremendously. Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Friday January 12, 2024 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Mike Arnett officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial of ashes will immediately follow the memorial service at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Dixie was a receptionist at Burch Chiropractic for many years. She was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday December 28th at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Lynn had a great taste in music which she passed down to Emily. Lynn enjoyed spending time with her daughter, who was truly her best friend.

Don was a wonderful father, his favorite thing to do was take care of JoAnn and spending time with his family. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Don also enjoyed fishing, and Illinois football, and basketball.
