Jerry John Zarcone - September 27, 1955 - April 03, 2019

Departed: 04/03/2019 (Hales Corners)
Obituary Preview: Zarcone, Jerry J.
Age 63. Passed away peacefully on April 3rd with his daughter by his side.
Beloved father of Laura "Lala" Zarcone. Dear brother of Maryann (Greg) Pliss and Joanne (Karl) Jacobs. Further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends & fellow musicians. Preceded in death by his parents, Phillip & Mary Zarcone; brother John Zarcone and sister Carol Korleski.
There was nothing more important to Jerry than family. He was especially proud of his daughter Laura, whom he passed down the gift of music to and who performed with him side-by-side. Born to Phillip and Mary Zarcone on September 27th, 1955, into a large Italian family with 4 older siblings: Maryann, John, JoAnne, and Carol, he had a unique connection with each and every one of his family members who are all going to miss him very much. As the baby of the family he had a very special bond with his mother Mary. Sundays were usually spent with family, eating, watching football, playing cards, and laughing until they cried.
Jerry was always happiest while performing and he brought joy to so many people through his music. He was a self-taught musician, able to play multiple instruments, while singing. He liked 50's and 60's music, but his passion was Elvis, especially the song "Hurt", which Jerry was most known for, performing as an Elvis Tribute Artist as well as in bands such as: Bigg Funn, Mystery Train, and The Starlites. He was the glue that held all our family and friends together, as we would always be at every show he played, dancing, singing along, and enjoying each other's company. Over the years he even had family members who performed with him in "The Starlites", including his sister Maryann, nieces Dawn, Charisse, and Paige, and his daughter Laura. When Jerry wasn't playing music, he was out supporting other local musicians. He was a big part of the local musical community and had many close friends within it who became like family.
Jerry had a love of classic cars and owned many of them over the years, most recently a 1969 Torino. He was a member of "The Drifters Car Club”, which includes many family members and friends, and loved to go to car shows and participate in competitions.
You could find him most nights enjoying dinner at Capri Italian Restaurant in West Allis enjoying his favorite pasta dishes and pizza with friends and loved ones.
He was kind and had a heart of gold. He loved to laugh; playing pranks and telling jokes being his favorite things to do. Jerry always went out of his way to make others smile. He was always there for anyone who needed him, whether it be a friend, family member, or complete stranger, he would do whatever he could to help them. Everyone who knew Jerry loved and respected him.
He devoted himself for many years to caring for the sick and elderly as a physical therapist at hospitals and nursing homes. While he worked at Linden Grove, Jerry would even have his band come in and play for the seniors during Christmas and for their annual Carnival; until the time he was diagnosed with cancer and was forced to leave that work behind to spend more time caring for himself.
Jerry was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and learned that he would need a liver transplant due to non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. He underwent chemotherapy and multiple other treatments over the last four and a half years. Unfortunately, he was never well enough to receive a transplant. During the last 6 months his condition worsened and he rapidly began to decline. He has now joined his parents, his brother John, his sister Carol, and all other loved ones in Heaven. Jerry will be missed by many.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the Elizabeth Residence in New Berlin where Mary Ann resided, along with Badger Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion that they provided for Mary Ann. Also an extra “hug” and thank you to Mary Ann’s sister Betty and husband Keith for their many consistent visits to Mary Ann and the continued emotional support they provided to us over the past years while we traveled this journey with Mary Ann. Betty had also made many visits to Mary Ann with long-time family friend, Sally Miller, and for that, we are also very thankful.

Obituary Preview: On Friday, March 22, 2019, Sharon Lynn Gokey, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the age of 77, at Linden Grove Communities, Mukwonago, WI.
