Departed: 04/08/2022 (Port Henry)
Obituary Preview: Stephen Orrin Williams of Crown Point, NY passed away on April 8,2022
Just 26 hours after the passing of his wife Dolores.
Born on 5/30/1954 in Middlebury Vermont to Orrin and Veda (Peltier) Williams.
Stephen cherished memories of his childhood on his grandparents farm in Orwell, VT and often spoke of the family that shaped his hard working values.
Steve was a professional driver at a young age. He loved it and took pride in teaching people who were interested in getting their CDL.
In 1975 he married the love of his life Dolores Williams. Steve had many interests including 4x4 trucks, tractor pulls, model / remote planes
Classic cars, motorcycles and car racing. He was happiest introducing and being able to share these hobbies with his wife, family and friends.
But his biggest interests were his work and his family.
He held strong relationships with his immediate family as well as Aunts, Uncles and cousins from both the Peltier and Williams families and he had a way of making each daughter, grandchild, sibling, niece, nephew, cousin and friend feel that they were his favorite most important person in the world. A story teller by nature he often relayed that
If you find something you love to do, you will never have to work a day in your life.
He was very proud to be able to provide for his family and had a strong belief that if he didn’t work for it he didn’t need it.
Maybe because of those ethics Steve was extremely generous with family and friends and kept very little for himself, choosing to earn his keep. Steve was predeceased by; his infant twin siblings his brother Burton Williams; brother, sister in law and his nieces Sgt Eric Jon Williams, Bonnie (Rafferty) Williams, Stephanie Williams and Brittany Williams His father Orrin Dorr Williams His mother Veda (Peltier, Williams) Burrell His sister Pamela (Williams) LaFountain Step father Donald Burrell His Wife and partner and soulmate Dolores Williams He is survived by and will truly be missed by his daughters Bobbi Jo Shaffer (Jody Palmer) Bernadette (Justin) Trombley His grandchildren that he was so very proud of: Steven Whitford (Ashley Peters) Greg Trombley (Kristin Mace) Lily Whitford (Adam Charboneau) Marianna Shaffer (Emily Wong) Mackenzie Trombley (Joe Maye) Riley Trombley Great Grandchildren: Eli Charboneau and Natalia Charboneau Sister Julianne (John) Budwick Brother Kevin (Nancy) Williams Brother in law David LaFountain He is also survived by many honorary grandchildren and many many

John served his country and gave his family the opportunity to experience life around the globe.  He loved anything with an engine and speed and that included downhill skiing; and took pride in rebuilding engines and restoring cars.  He adored his two daughters and always told them with hard work they can do anything and anything worth doing should be done at 100%. He was never fake with his feelings and always straight forward.  He will be remembered for the constant love and support to his family.  Most will remember John for his ability to bring a smile to everyone’s face with his charm and straightforward demeanor.  To be a friend of John’s was knowing what it feels like to have another sibling.  His friends were family.
Our dad lived simply, most often saying that every day is a gift; rules are made to be broken; and life is not about the destination but the journey that it takes you on.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing important information to those who knew them. They can help facilitate communication among loved ones, provide closure, and create a sense of community during a difficult time.

Who typically writes an obituary?

The responsibility of writing an obituary often falls on the family members or close friends of the deceased. Funeral homes or obituary writers may also assist in crafting the obituary.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the deceased's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include details about the funeral service, memorial donations, or other relevant information.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or platform. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from a few sentences to a short paragraph.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?
